One of the few places that has dos equis on tap to go along with their great food! Their brunch menu is solid but dinner had a bit more selection. Had their diablos huevos which were awesome, spicy enough without drowning out the other flavors. Fish tacos are crispy and flakey and the skirt steak perfectly cooked. Drinks are well made as well. Lastly their home made hot sauce is fantastic! Perfect spice level with lots of flavor.

This place was an absolute slam dunk! Amazing Spanish food for good prices and when I went the atmosphere was super laid back. Unbelievable service, got our food in probably less than 15 minutes and the staff was very nice. Highly recommend!

Delicious food The Margaritas are 🔥 We ordered a large guacamole to share, the guac was fresh and the chips were nice and crispy I ordered the steak with yucca fries- the steak was very well made and seasoned, the yucca fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside Another friend ordered a veggie based dish that looked very tasty We washed it all down with some Margaritas, these were one of the best I had in this area in a while The menu is reasonably priced, great value for money The staff is super nice and friendly 10/10

Everything we got was great! According to my mom, not many places have elote, so she was thrilled to eat that (and it was yummy :)) In my opinion, the pastor tacos were the best - would definitely recommend to pastor taco enthusiasts.

Brunch is amazing and very reasonably priced! Service could use improvement, slow and inattentive. I've been here twice since my last review. They have new servers and service has greatly improved. The food is fantastic and I'm still shocked how affordable it is and the quality of the food!

Fantastic Mexican food with a really friendly laid back atmosphere. Delicious tacos (had fish and shrimp) with reasonably priced beers. Servers were helpful and attentive. They have a few tables outside and a covered seating area however inside is air conditioned and exactly what we were looking for. Would defiantly come again!

Great Service, excellent food and amazing drinks. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The meal is well seasoned and the drinks are mixed to perfection. The price isn't bad either. Besides being one of the best Mexican restaurant in New York, they have amazing chicken wings!!! Try it you won't regret it.

Food and drinks were both 10/10. I love spicy, so I had the spicy marg called “Hey Beeyatch” (so good), and my partner had the Pinaloca, both great. We had the tacos and fajitas, and everything tasted premium. Only thing we’d mention (totally on us, not the restaurant) is that we didn’t realize a 20% auto-grat was already included. When the payment screen popped up, the tip options were 2–7%, so I thought they were just being super humble and added another 20%—ended up tipping 40% without realizing until after. Just a heads up to double-check before you pay!

Stopped in for a quick bite while exploring the neighborhood. Had the black bean salad, and it was huge. It was a delicious light meal, perfect for the afternoon. Quick service, nice employees, very comfortable vibe. Clean and welcoming.

On a quest for Mexican food in NYC, it leads you down many paths of disappointment. Yes you can find the best tacos, but finding sit down tex mex is hard to come by. That is until finally wandering into the Mexican place I had passed by so many times. This place is very very good. I got the chicken chilaquiles and the sauce was very good and the amount of meat they gave was very generous. Everyone I went with liked their food. The search is over!

My fav little go to spot. Food portions are generous and tasty. The drinks are great! Did I tell you they offer to go drinks!!! For the affordable pricing I will continue to support

I was skeptical about going here for dinner because the pictures of the food on Yelp and Google did not look so good. But I’m glad that I went! I loved the food, and the service was amazing. Definitely recommend this place, it also has good outdoor space for the summer months!

A casual spot to enjoy Mexican inspired food. I was here with a friend and my 9 year old. We all had the enchiladas with beef. Very delicious and the beef was tender. Yum! I liked the freshness of the margarita (regular) I could taste the lime. My daughter had a guava lemonade. The servers were friendly and attentive. We had a good relaxing time; there is a time limit of 90 minutes for dining, but we were not rushed and left when we were ready. I look forward to going back.

It may not look like your upscale Mexican restaurant you find in Union Square or SoHo, but the service and food are just as good here, if not better (and more reasonably priced). El Camion’s dark decor gives a more dive bar vibe and they do in fact serve up a strong margarita, but I’m here to eat. We ordered the chips and guacamole, steak fajitas, yucca fries, and braised pork shoulder. Chips and guacamole easily fall short at some spots, but there’s just enough salt and lime juice in the guac that balances this one. The chips weren’t too salty and they offered enough chips (we all know that’s always an issue). The steak fajitas, sautéed with peppers and onions and served with 4 warm flour tortillas, also came with yellow rice and black beans. I highly recommend this dish. The steak was well seasoned, cooked medium rare, and was juicy and tender. The braised pork shoulder had a tomato based sauce (not what I expected), but was delicious. The meat easily fell apart and was very tender. The yucca fries were great. Crispy and included a side of guacamole and salad. If you’re looking for a solid Mexican spot with more than just tacos, go here.

Always a hit, never a miss at El Camion. Lovely wait staff. A bit on the pricey side, but plenty of food to share if you’re on a budget. The chips and guacamole are above par here, so be sure to save room for your entrée!

El Camion Cantina is one of my favorite spots for a Latin inspired brunch. The food is fresh and amply portioned, and the prices are exceptionally reasonable for the area. I’d highly recommend the huevos diablos and a frozen Margarita.

Brunch: Excellent value for money! Was walking by this place around noon on a Saturday, saw the crowd and thought it must be good since it was so popular. Waited for 10 min for a table and had a great chicken chilaquiles and eggs benedict with mimosas for only $22 total (excluding tip).

We originally tried to go to a restaurant across the street who’s host disappeared so we decided to try El Camion. I’m so glad we did! Delicious food and margs and warm service. Portions were average and we left full- and with a to go marg! Steak fajitas were super tasty and the carnitas burrito had a fantastic flavor. 2 margs, a soda, and two entrees were $68. Not bad for NYC.

Wonderful spot that we stopped at yesterday for some nachos and a drink just before getting on the subway would highly recommend the spots anyone in the area looking for some good Mexican food

My comfort food. I love coming here and getting the taco salad. The quality of the food is always great and their drink selection is unique. I love the Vampire marg (sangria and marg).

Yum! Good guava marg, chips were so pleasant

been coming here for brunch for 5 years. They had to start charging $2 for bottomless coffee instead of a "free drink and/or coffee" this was the first price increase in 5 years (incredible)! the staff is very friendly, the wait isn't too long. love this place.

A

IMO, Best value brunch in NYC. The wait can get a little long and it would be nice if they did texts or something because there isn't space to wait but well worth it.

The steak tacos were really good. Not enormous but cheap $12 for 3 and enough food for me. Outdoor covered seating as well which works well in the rain.

I’ve come here probably a dozen times since 2015. Always fantastic. The huevos diablos is one of the best brunch dishes in the city imho. And $7 cocktails is tough to beat!

Yelp's platform connected me with my new favorite place. The mood lifts your spirits and the staff responds quickly. Be sure to try what made this place popular. The employees combine warmth with support. This spot deserves to remain open.

Went on a Friday evening with family. We got there just in time before it started getting crowded. We had a amazing time. Place has such a cozy vibe, and food was great. Will be going back!

They literally have the best frozen maragritas in the city. I say that confidently. The chicken fajitas are to die for and the staff is always kind and welcoming.

Overall, the food felt overpriced and the portions weren’t very big as you can see from the chimichanga plate I ordered. The restaurant is small with tight spaces but it was clean and service was timely. For the price paid for food, portions should be bigger and have better flavors.

I had this place saved on my list for a little bit, so I was excited to finally try it once I was in the area. We got the steak tacos to start and I was really happy with the quality of the steak. They gave nice long juicy pieces which was a pleasant surprise. I got the fish tacos, which I thought were pretty good, but missing something. My friend got the burrito which seemed like it was missing the “wrap” part. My other friend got the salmon tacos, and they were disappointing and dry. Margaritas were very sugary.

Authentic food! great taste, really fresh and quality tasting ingredients. Not too crowded or loud. Would highly recommend. They don't take reservations only fist come first serve.

I came here during the dance parade so the area was pretty packed. Nonetheless, I was able to get a seat outside. I only ordered drinks and the guacamole appetizer. The service was a bit slow, but I would assume it was due to the crowds from the parade. Other than that, the drinks were extremely generous with alcohol and the guacamole was very tasty. Would definitely stop by here again if ever I were in the area.

I loved ❤️ the food & drinks though they can give a bit more of the Guomole, I was also surprised they didn't carry flan a delicious custard dessert. I was disappointed with the music 🎶 they had on., it did not go with the theme at all!

The huevos rancheros were great! Came with a complementary margarita too! Quite busy on a Saturday but good crowd

Good house margaritas. The drink sizes are large and generous. Nice window seats and music.

Got the steak fajitas. For 18$ it's a good amount of food. Steak was cooked well and all the veggies had a nice char to them.

Food is good but definitely overpriced, even the margaritas prices are crazy. We had the guacamole and quesadilla

is my first time coming into this restaurant. I never felt so humiliated in my life. I was waiting to be seated with my son, and this hostess, whoever he is, just ignored us and took the people behind us . We have to walk or self out of the restaurant we didn't even get no greeter from anybody on this place I feel disappointment. Because I don't understand, I don't know if it's racism or whatever It is but never in my life I felt like this in another place specifically when I'm with my kid what a suppose to tell him the waiter ignores us because were not of his like get out it here is 2024 Saturday 5:00 pm I dont want to get anyone in trouble but it should be tough to your employees that who ever comes first should get served first no matter the ethnicity.

I decided to leave a review even though I wasn’t, but Id thought it is important for other customers to know and perhaps the owner of the restaurant will see this, I went with a friend and I ordered a chicken quesadilla yuca fries, and she got a chicken Fajita, as my friend was eating her food she was chewing/found a finger nail in her plate!!! We immediately called our female waitress and later on asked for the manager who was also a female, the manager who I did not get her name seemed like she did not care she was literally laughing and said it never happened before. After that, this guy with glasses who works there came to our table and dropped of two shots of tequila and we were confused because me and my friend never asked for them nor did the guy even knew what was happening all he said was “idk it came from the bar” they probably thought we were just some young girls who would be fine after what just happened and brushed it off by offering us shots. Honestly I was so disappointed of customer service it was so bad. Also our female waitress who is short and with black hair she wasn’t helpful with me, when I asked her can I change my drink because I did not like it and it was too spicy she said I could not change it and would have to charge me if I decided to get another drink, mind you I only took one sip. I work in the restaurant industry as well and we never have a problem switching the drink if the customer does not like it as long as the beverage was not empty. Please make sure what is inside your food & posted pictures along with the review so it can be seen

Living in the lower east for 20 years my First time experiencing what I experience in this restaurant , I came to this place a lot of times with friends , today I came in with my brother and mother and didn't like the service we wasn't greeted politely there was a server woman by the bar and look at us strange , she gave us water and you can tell she didn't want to serve us , we was rushed by a male server because he kept asking us what else we want , he didn't let us finish the drinks we had already on the table , meanwhile there was people behind us that was there before us and wasn't being rushed out he came to us with the bill without us asking and we wasn't finish with our drink , I'm really disappointed with the servers, I would not return with my family nor friends and I will make sure I tell them about my experience . I definitely know it was a race thing which is very sad , my friend knows the owner therefore I hope he sees this messenge and can train better his servers .

Unfortunately did even get to try food or drink. Waited 20 min for someone to take our orders, while parties that came after and sitting next to us were were taken their respective orders, mind you the place was not crowed. Perhaps was a oversight from the waitress, but after 20 min, We just decided to go somewhere else.

Have lived in the East Village for a long while and eaten here more than 20 times. My favorite Chicken Mole $25 was dried out and hard to cut into, though the sauce was great. My friend’s Chicken Enchiladas $19 were literally strung out dried and served cold. Sent them back and the new ones weren’t much better. (And didn’t get anything taken off the bill for sending cold food back.. !) Such a disappointment. What happened to this place we used to like so much ?! The cooks don’t care anymore ? Just slap food on a plate. The only saving grace was the lovely waitress. Avoid this place. Go to Yuca on Ave A & 7th instead. The food is fresh. Tonight at El Camion it felt like we were served unloved leftovers.

Evelyn

Pretty sure we were racially profiled. Our server also added extremely high gratuity for a bill of $80 for two people. Our server acted as if we weren’t going to pay. It was a date and I live/work in the area. This is the last time I’ll ever visit this spot! Avoid if you’re a person of color.
