We are from Chicago and always say we’d die on the “there’s no better pizza than Chicago pizza” hill (and no we don’t mean deep dish- true Chicagoans know the best pizza is NOT deep dish; it’s tavern thin crust pizza, which Chicago has a lot of!). We visit NYC like once a year and while we’ve had great pizza, there haven’t been any to write home about… until Joe & Pat’s!!! We unfortunately made the decision of going to E Zoo this year, and after not being let in on the last day, we were like let’s just go get some pizza. We recently moved to Pittsburgh which by the way has absolutely zero thin crust pizza. They like to label their pizzas as thin crust, but they’re actually pan lol so at this point I’ve been craving TRUE THIN CRUST, like paper thin crust pizza and let me tell you- Joe & Pat’s is JUST that! Hands down on my top 3 best pizzas I’ve ever had. Perfect consistency of sauce to cheese; I also never eat pizza crust and I did not leave any behind on this one. Perfectly crispy and thin pizza with so much flavor. We also got their meatballs which were delicious. Cute and cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back!!!

Joe and Pats was one of the surprise stars of our pizza vacation. The vibe of the shop is much more upscale than any other pizzeria we visited in the city. They have cloth napkins, table service, the whole nine yards. We ordered a Tri Pie and it was amazing. Very unique combination of flavors and the crust was amazingly thin and crisp. It took all my will power just to let it cool. I've been dreaming about this pizza for weeks, it's that good! If your looking for a bit of a differen experience than the typical old school pizzerias, I can highly recommend Joe and Pats!

Absolutely fantastic pizza. All around amazing. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had in NYC. Cracker thin crust, balanced sauce. Highly recommend the vodka or the tri color pie. We were also impressed with the quality of the fried calamari and the meatballs to start. I hope (selfishly) this place doesn’t blow up to become a rubirosa because it wasn’t crowded and there was no wait for a table on a Saturday night.

Excellent pizza, honestly this is the best pie I've had since I've been in the city. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, it's all just on a higher level here. A bit pricey(NY!) But worth it as a treat when you're here. All the servers, wait staff and hosts are great here, friendly and accommodating. If you're trying to find the best New York pizza or on a pizza tour just cut the chase and come here!

Why only four stars? The old Lanzas’ Neapolitan tile and windows are cool. The food would do them, proud. Wait staff was great The cheap cold Baccala Behind the bar does not belong in the hospitality business.

Nice vibe and good solid thin crust pizza that’s nice and crispy. We got a tri-pie and thought I wish there was a bit more cheese in the mix, the flavor combination of the pesto and vodka sauce was excellent. I’d come back to try some of their pies

NY style pizza here was awesome. Glad to have found a good sitting down place for this, and super easy to get into. Get the vodka one! Skip the garlic bread though, it was not very good. We also got a decent cesar salad with slightly charred grilled chicken. Would come back for just the pizza and would leave happy!

Went there on a Saturday with my wife and friend. My wife and friend love there food. Sad to say I never got my meal. About 1/2 hour after they they got there dinner, I was informed they were out of what I ordered. Waiter must have walked by 30 times. I should have told they were out of my dinner right way. My wife and friend were finished. So I got something to eat somewhere else

We were very hungry and went here on a Saturday night a little after peak hour. A lot of tables opened at 9pm. The decor is nice. The music is extremely loud. The air conditioning is pretty even but it’s hotter towards the kitchen. We got the pizza royal. It’s supposed to have pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, mushrooms, and peppers but I think the meatballs were left out. We saw steel wool plugging in the bathrooms.

We ordered from Joe and Pats recently. We called the restaurant after our initial order was cancelled without a reason indicated. The person we spoke with apologized, told us to order again, and that he would make a note to comp the meal due to the time delay for our food. The refund never came in, so I emailed the restaurant and never heard back from them.

Ordered a takeout veggie pizza last week. All three of us spit out our first bites due to an overwhelming taste of dish washing soap that covered the toppings. We drove over half an hour to return the pie for a replacement. We received neither an apology nor any compensation for our time and their poor health standards in the kitchen. They actual had the audacity to claim the veggies were find. So much for customer being right (or deserving of edible food). There are a lot better choices on the island... drive past this one!

I made a reservation for this place for 6 pm on a Saturday and we (party of 2) got put in the back of the restaurant — in some sort of enclosed alley between the inside seating and the back yard seating. There were propane gas tanks next to us, no music, and the only view of anything was a stucco exterior wall. On top of that, our waiter came by right as we sat down and asked us if we wanted drinks, we said we needed one minute to look at the menu, she did not come back to our table. Even after I made serious eye contact with her several times lol. About 20 minutes passed by without any service so we left. I’m extremely disappointed, as I have heard the food is very good.
