I swung by for lunch and had excellent Turkish coffee and avocado toast! The staff was super friendly, and the shop was cozy. I will for sure be coming back to try more on their menu.

Red Bear Coffee & Bakery is a small cozy addition to the East Village. the coffee shop has several tables and seats in a bright welcoming interior. while it’s a fairly cozy space and doesn’t feel cramped or cluttered. very well maintained and clean. of course, the magic happens at the coffee bar where a menu of coffee centric drinks are served along with offerings of sweet bakery items as well as savory items like simple sandwiches and such. stopped here twice so far—tried the drip coffee which was solidly good and worked well when you’re in a rush. also got an Americano coffee on the second visit. my Americano was really good—smooth medium roast coffee served hot and a great coffee taste. there are another of bakery items on display—still regret not getting a big cookie that i eyed. the service is very friendly and attentive. if you’re looking for a place to get a cup of coffee or a small bite to eat then Red Beard has you covered. plus they offer wifi if you need to sit and work or study.

A 10/10 experience. This curated coffee shop has the best food options, drinks are delicious too, and atmosphere is so relaxing. Their pesto chicken sandwich is a must try, and their pastries are all insane

I had the Nutella banana bread and a mocha with almond milk the banana bread was amazing like it was fresh out of the oven it literally felt like I sitting in my own home kitchen!. Awesome First experience!!. Can’t wait to come back!!.

The best Lox bagel I had so far. The bagel was toasted just enough to be crunchy on the outside and a little chewy on the inside. The smoked salmon with a light touch of fresh dills, capers, onions and not too generous cream cheese served up a yummy treat for my breakfast. Thank you Cihan for the memorable taste. Will certainly be back for more.

Found my new favorite spot in NYC. What a hidden gem!! The grilled chicken pesto sandwich was out of this world. Fresh and delicious. Also got the brown sugar shaken espresso drink which was perfect- not too much ice and not too sweet. They also have complimentary water for all customers and a comfortable place to sit inside. Truly, such an amazing spot to grab breakfast or lunch! Will definitely be back.

A DELIGHTFULLY CUTE AND HEALTHY COFFEE SHOP ON THE LOWER EAST SIDE: I came across the Red Beard Cafe one cold winter morning when I was badly in need of a good hot coffee, nourishing breakfast and peaceful refuge. I found most of that with some very fresh and healthy produce and dishes on their menu. I had wanted to write this review after my first visit to the cafe around advent last year but life got crazy busy with work, so I was glad I found the chance to revisit later in the winter. The coffee shop is a cute spot on the busy 1 st Avenue area that I don’t really frequent nor like. It’s run by the Turkish with such hospitable and delightful service. A nice auberge I found indeed. My favourite items here are the ham and cheese sandwich on crisp baguette which is so fresh. The pastries are well baked and I enjoyed their croissants. The Nutella banana bread was out of this world! The coffees are well brewed and quite strong at this cafe. I guess the Turkish tradition of coffee brewing kicked in, quite delightfully I might add. I enjoyed a strong cappuccino and then a Turkish coffee with a piece of Turkish delight to boot which was fabulous. Turkish delight is a family favourite of ours! What I really liked about Red Beard cafe was the fast and upbeat service, fresh dishes and pastries, cute interior, a sun lit bay window table and last but not least their music playlist. Dance with me after brunch, baby! I’m asking myself why this cafe is not on the upper west side by my Alma mater Columbia University where it would be a great hit! The element that places this bakery in my outstanding category is that Red Beard also participates in good community service events which always wins my accolades as a foodie and environmentalist. They are active in the app based anti-food waste management programme called Too Good To Go. Plus help charitably for deserving community events with bulk orders. All in all a warm and delightful place to start your morning or cater an event with excellent service to make you smile anytime, any day at the Red Beard cafe!

This place is a hidden gem. The food is so delicious, I mean- they put lovely edible flowers on the avocado toast! I’m sold right there & everything is fresh & delicious. The drinks are all so good - I love the turmeric latte and the lavender latte but their fresh juices are also top notch. 5 stars

2️⃣ visit: buttermilk biscuit was a little bit dry but the everything seasoning was great! 1️⃣ This place has some upgraded versions of common pastries. Space was not big but lovely. 💚✨🧁Pistachio muffin was out of my expectations. It was not too sweet, flavor was natural, muffin was moist and slightly crumbly. It was dedicated and beautiful. 💫🍋💛The lemon cake was really really moist and rich, well-balanced flavor, also highly recommended. 🍒❤️‍🔥Cherry scone was really good too. It was still buttery and moist when it was cool. After warmed up a little bit… fire! Chocolate chip cookie was the only one I think was average so far. It was good, nothing went wrong but also nothing special. Cappuccino was normal, average as well. Slightly on the bitter side.

Iced latte was perfect, would absolutely order it again. You can trust that it will actually taste like coffee, not just milk. Food is fairly priced and delicious. Lots of hearty vegetarian options. Service is fantastic here, very friendly. There's seating if you want to relax a bit, and the atmosphere is very clean, bright, and welcoming. Highly recommend.
