We had an absolutely amazing experience at Mr. Purple in New York. The rooftop views were unlike anything else, truly breathtaking. I also want to give a hugh shoutout to our wonderful server Courtnee. Thank you, Courtnee, for making our first visit so special and for recommending The Formula for our meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth. Incredible food, outstanding service, and all delivered with a warm, genuine smile. came in today for a drink with a girlfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Wasn’t too busy or loud around 6pm. Drinks were good, and the views from the rooftop are beautiful! We enjoyed a special where you get a steak, fries and martini for $35 that our server Alma recommended and it was great. Will come again

My server, Elma, was beyond amazing. She knew the menu inside out and gave spot-on recommendations for drinks. Between the great vibes, top-tier drinks, and exceptional service, it will become my new go-to spot. If you go (and you should!), definitely ask for Elma, you’ll be in great hands!

Came here on a weekday while visiting NYC was a bit quiet but Elma was my server and made my experience so amazing. Not only was she super personable but recommended some amazing drinks, she even invited me back for the summer when the rooftop is open. I ended up staying longer than expected ! Will definitely be back and bring some friends. Views were beautiful as well.

I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are looking for wonderful food that won't break the bank, this is the spot. The standout for me was definitely the gnocchi. It was perfectly cooked—light, pillowy, and full of flavor. It’s hard to find high-quality pasta like this at such great prices, but they really nailed the value here. What I love most is how convenient it is. It is perfect for being on the go when you want a high-quality meal but don't have hours to sit down. The service was quick and the overall experience was just fantastic.

I have been dreaming of Gnocchi on 9th since I first heard about them about a year ago because of alllll that viral bizzzz. Well, WHY NOT? I LOVE gnocchi and I love cheese.... What could possibly go wrong? I stumbled upon their setup at Bryant Park Winter Village and may or may not have gasped with joy. Unexpected happy surprises are the best! This place was such a gem and the gnooci was fantastic! It's a very small grab and go place inside and they have a few options. MAKE SURE TO GET THE CON BURRATA. The gnooci had a nice tomato sauce on it and burrata made it 10x better. We almost went back to get another one it was that good.

This place was amazing! I went for the gluten free gnocchi with pesto which was delicious. I only had to wait five minutes for it to be ready which was great. One thing to note is that there is no seating area inside - it is set up to be taken away or eaten on the bench outside - but the gnocchi more that keeps you warm! I would recommend to my fellow coeliacs!

similar to other reviews, the affordability and efficiency is top tier. i personally found it to be delicious and will definitely come back again! no seating though, but there is a small bench that could fit 2~3 people at a time right outside the store. definitely definitely put burrata on when you order though, you won't regret it ;)

Passing through a very nice neighborhood, we stopped at Gnocchi on 9th after hearing on YouTube that it was a good budget option in the Big Apple. Happy to report that it is indeed very good food and a wonderful little spot. My friend went for the classic vodka sauce and I went for the pesto. Both were delicious, with my favorite being the pesto. The food was made quickly, and we were out in a minute. Also, the burrata is incredibly worth it. It's fresh, cheap, and goes perfectly with the gnocchi.

Love this spot - I’d never had take-out gnocchi like this before, but now it’s my go-to to-go food. Such good value - steaming bowl of pesto gnocchi on a cold day was $10. You should do the ”add burrata” for $3 too. Staff has also been super welcoming every time I’ve been there

Fantastic experience. Small spot but with great food! The servers were friendly and the gnocchi delicious. Had the Alla Vodka and the pomodoro. The gnocchi dumplings were a great consistency and texture and the sauce was tasty. Would definitely come back!

The gnocchi was well-cooked, and the vodka sauce had a great balance of flavors with just the right amount of heat from the chili flakes. It's a big bar with dancing space on the 15th floor. I was there to dance and see the rooftop, it was some free special that night. But that night it was raining so the rooftop was closed. I just saw vague skyline through the glass walls. Overall it was nice to dance, not crowded.

Mr. Purple was a lot of fun! The rooftop view of the city was immaculate, and they had a great selection of music as well. The drinks were solid, and I enjoyed the overall vibe of Mr. Purple as a whole. Would recommend!

The food was good! But I was not a fan of the drinks. The pornstar martini was more so a passionfruit mimosa, pure prosecco! It was so bubbly rather than smooth. Any good bar serves the prosecco on the side. Our waitress and all the staff were amazing though and the view is worth the $25 drinks. Great music as well. Just really bummed by the drink.

Is the best gnocchi ever? No but it is delicious. For $10 you get decent amount. It’s made fresh. The sauce was creamy and the gnocchi was soft. It’s worth it if you’re in the area and need to grab and go but wouldn’t make a special trip to this place otherwise.

This was our second visit to this property, both times at sunset, this time as hotel guests. The view is breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for sunset cocktails. However, regarding the food and cocktails, both are of low quality and do not meet our expectations. We had the worst Aperol Spritz we have had. Bartenders had no clue. Additionally, the bartender was arguing with a client over a card and tried to involve me in the discussion, which was very rude and inappropriate. We had one drink, enjoyed the fantastic view, and left. Many rooftop options, avoid this one.

$10 for boxed DeCecco gnocchi and sauce, served in a Chinese takeout container. No seating. It's an ok price for the amount of food, but it's also definitely in the category of things you can make at home in 15 minutes.

Gnocchi on the 9th is a quick bite place to grab a to go gnocchi. I tried the alla vodka with burrata. Gnocchi was cooked to perfection and the sauce was not tangy and was well balanced with herbs. I've had better burrata. Quantity was good, it was value for money. There is no seating space, just a grab and go kind of place.

Only good thing about this place is the bathroom attendant Ibrahim. Came in knowing it’s a club and drinks would be more expensive, but the tequila soda I paid over $20 for was extraordinarily weak. Having learned my lesson about ordering liquor from the place, I went back for a second round and asked if they had White Claw. Bartender hands me a Surfside (a little more than $11 for the can), and then PROCEEDS TO SIGN FOR ME, TIP FOR ME, AND TAKE THE HANDHELD AWAY before I can even touch it. This was an extremely quick movement, like he is very well practiced at signing and tipping for customers while they’re putting their cards away the moment they tap. I tipped 20% on my first round. I don’t know what the average tip at this business is or if a noticeable number of customers don’t tip, but frankly, that’s not my problem. You CANNOT sign and tip on a bill on a customer’s behalf. That is outrageously disrespectful, and probably illegal. Maybe he felt overwhelmed by his ~7 customers at his nightclub bar, but that does not excuse this. Truly appalling. I wonder how much money he steals from unknowing customers per month with this kind of behavior. Dude needs to be fired

Honestly the gnocchi is so chewy it taste like mochi, I couldn’t even finish it. My stomach hurt after eating it. Def not worth the hype. I will not be coming back here. Even the sauce is bad, I have nothing nice to say.

If it wasn’t for the fresh burrata on top, I would have just thrown this away. The gnocchi was more than likely just sitting there for a long time. Over cooked and waste like chewy paste in my mouth. I’m sure it’s great when they busy and making it fresh but if you can’t do that even when you aren’t busy, yikes. Just horrible. Could hardly eat. So word of advice, maybe go when they are busy.
