Small but very Nice bar. Descent finger foods and the wings are superb!!😛 Bar tenders are great!!
I might be a stranger in a strange land, but I got a classic Pub experience after a long day. Top marks to Conor!
Shoutout to John for the amazing service on our boys night out! Best bartender in New York!
First place I had something to eat in New York right next to my hotel Burger and fries were great came out quick service was good if you're staying nearby or just passing by check it out
Great neighborhood Irish bar with a small menu of classic pub fare. I go for their delicious Chicken Pot Pie, but everything is good!
I am a long time patron of this awesome pub. The bartenders are fantastic and I love the music played. This will always be my bar!
Great place! First bartender I met there was a star. Crowd was good to me and a friend too!
Only have been there when I go to the Yankees game, but always have been greeted with nothing but cordial servers, and the owners!!! Go there!!
Highly recommended. Great service. Food was awesome. Perhaps a wider variety of the craft beer wouldn’t hurt
Tom is the best and most attentive bartender. Talent and personality rule in this charming Irish pub
Tremendous food portions, and the house Amber Ale is the best I ever tasted. The bartender Denis couldn't be more friendly and fast.
This is my favorite bar ever
bartender was a total sweetheart, and the waffle fries were very good!
Best place ever! Amazing food, calamari were delicious! Extremely friendly staff! Amazing service! Highly recommended!
The bartenders serve the best drinks! Crowd is nice, beawomen walking in....yes!
Warm welcoming atmosphere that you will keep coming back to 🤗
Shane is the absolute best barman in New York, I hope I get to meet him again, some day.
Very nice irish neighborhood bar and the drinks and food are pretty good with reasonable prices..
High energy, pretty loud music. Would be great for dancing. Highjacking the music selection is fun!
Great food, friendly bar staff. Great place to throw darts.
I went early in the afternoon and had a $20 lunch special. (burger, fries, and a domestic beer. The burger was cooked exactly the way I asked. The fries were on the money! Service was on par.
Great place to grab a pint. Really enjoyed my time with joe the bartender. Joe really makes a good drink and knows how to serve the customers. I enjoyed the burger the food was enjoyable and fresh . Fitzgeralds is one of the better pubs in that area.
Great atmosphere, very nice little Irish bar tucked away on 3rd Ave. THeir custom brew is great, happy hour prices are a plus, and the staff is authentic Irish. Food has been great even if the menu is limited. Highly recommended.
Absolutely love this place! Staff made me feel like i was their best friends within the first 10 minutes. visited nyc for 4 days and went there everynight with my cousin and ate lunch there just 2hrs before my flight. they even remembered my name. second night, Shane said "hey welcome back jesse". got a shirt from them and alot of good memories! Love these guys and will definitely stop in everytime im in ny in the future!
Relaxing moment at the bar. John the bartender was great as was the roast beef wrap and the french onion soup. Highly recommend.
If u are looking for some good wings this place to go. The service is A1 too Dennis behind the bar was so professional really loved how he pay attention to his customers. It a real laid back environment. I will be back in the future .
Just had a few Guiness in Fitzgeralds NY. The barman Cormac O'Reilly great craic and makes you feel right at home. The bar is not one of those cheesy Irish pubs run by someone who isn't Irish. It's a NY Irish Bar with loads of personality where you meet people who just want to chill put and have a few beers taking time out from the concrete jungle. Defo worth a stop for some refreshments and a chin wag. Go raibh maith agat Cormac. UP THE REBELS.
Really laid back and relaxing vibe. For sure a pub
One of my favorite places to go! The food is fantastic and the environment all around is great. The owners and bartenders are so friendly! Highly recommend for a nice place to hangout with friends
Will always love Fitz and the service is great! Dennis is always one of the nicest bartenders, a really nice selection of beers at good prices, and the food is a great added benefit of making your way to Fitzgerald's pub!
We (the couple from Austria) were here today and the bartender was just amazing. You feel like at home right away. Thank you so much!
We arrived in NYC late after a long journey. The barman apologised that the kitchen had closed (it was 1am) but he was very kind and telephoned to a take out restaurant that brought chicken tenders for us. 100% hospitality shown to a newbie in a strange land. Thank you so very much.
This is my favorite place to go for drinks and food with friends but the real star of Fitz is Jerry, he's the best and my favorite bartender. He's always on top of his tables and great to talk to!
Andrew was the best instructor you could ever imagine having. Taught me so much, and the best guy ever.
Chris and Rachel were phenomenal servers… 10/10 would go back again great drinks and great atmosphere
Great way for Baruch students to get together and have some quality time to get to know each other. Please order the waffle fries if you go. Say hello to the server Jerry
A real Irish Pub in the heart of Manhattan. Great music, darts, outdoor seating and Shane's genuine Irish flair are all you need. Oh, and a Guinness.
Ah, my college bar. Many of girl I have wooed here, Many a car bomb I've chugged, And many a dart thrown at that old dartboard in the back. I never messed with the jukebox much, but I appreciated those who did, for the rock and roll and rap they played. Ah, how I miss my college bar.
Cosy welcoming atmosphere, good beers, lovely staff and great service. Popular spot gets quite busy.
I like it! Nice atmosphere. I never been there late during the weekend. I only go for lunch or dinner and the food was good all the time: fish and chips and sandwiches, etc.
Classic Irish pub with exactly what you'd expect pub fare. Dennis is the friendly irish bartender you hope is back there - kind, attentive, and quick with a joke. Definitely recommend
My friend parker and I just came in for some beers. Coney island IPA is great and the chicken pot pie takes a while but is worth it. Would eat another pot pie again
The staff are SO kind. It's a clean place with a great style. The darts are fun.
Great pub and great service! If in the area definitely worth visiting 👍
Probably the most balanced Shepard's pie I've ever had. Amazing potatoes, the ground beef and gravy was fantastic, and none of it overpowered the veggies. Perfection.
one of my favorite bars in new york. the bartender is a great guy, and the drinks are solid with price. you really can’t beat the laid back atmosphere, and you can make it your own with the in-house jukebox. the inpromptu dart board near the back is also great as well (and free, just ask for some darts, the staff is awesome). so happy this is my regular bar.
I go here at least once a week. Great place to hang out with friends and get a drink. Not only are the drinks great, but the food too. Shane and John are both great guys and will make sure that you get the best experience. All the bartenders are extremely nice, helpful and fun. You won't regret coming here.
Exactly what you want from an Irish pub. Awesome service, the chicken tenders were amazing and the beer was ice cold and fresh. I was traveling for work and stopped in here during the NFL playoffs. Ended up staying for two straight games as the bar is super comfortable and again the service was perfect. Will be back in on my next trip!
The bartender is very nice and the vibe is great. They open until 4. Definitely the best late night option if you have to stay out late or want to hangout with your friends past midnight.
Legit dart bar (NY Dart League plays here). Great whisky selection. Good food. Good music. Very chill and never crowded. Always have fun here and meet smart cool people. Recommend!
Food is excellent, the Guinness is even better, and the service is even better than that. Chris the bartender is the absolute man and is the cherry on top. 5 booms all around.
Exactly what I look for in an Irish pub! The food could use a bit of work, but was far from bad. What they really had in spades is the essentials of an Irish pub: a great atmosphere, fun bartenders, and a proper Guinness pour! This will become an essential stop for me when I'm in the neighborhood.
We came for a quick lunch and met the friendliest staff, John! The waffle fries were crispy & delicious and the calamari was tender. Highly recommended!
Went there with my girlfriend to eat and have a few drinks, food was great! Service was fantastic from the waitress Maria! Atmosphere was nice with the music, darts and a bunch of tvs to view all different sports/games.
Great spot in NYC! The food was amazing. I had the penne alla vodka and it was perfectly creamy and full of flavor. The drinks were really good too. Our waiter Maria was so nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is fun and lively, and it’s a great place to watch games. Definitely recommend! 🍝🍻🏈
This is my go to bar with my friends. Went here on Halloween and it was great vibes. Gets very packed for football games. Especially great for conference championship week for college football. Love this place would recommend to anyone food is great and no better place than here.
The shepherds pie was delicious, and so were the Buffalo wings. Maria was a very attentive server, and the drinks were good as well.
Good atmosphere. Friendly employees. I'd definitely recommend it to others
This place is amazing and one of my favorite spots in New York. The staff is incredibly friendly, and both the food and drinks are consistently great. Always a wonderful experience!
The bartender, John, was lovely!! Very warm & friendly and a very good bartender! He even invented a drink for the table next to us! I asked for it and it was yummy! Not too sweet & very refreshing!!
Fantastic pub, all the food is made fresh and not frozen bar food. Great staff and better drinks. Will definitely be coming back!
Ate lunch/had a work meeting here yesterday. I have worked for ten years literally 30 seconds away from Fitzgerald's but have only been in once before and didn't eat. This time I got the BLT and he got a burger. The BLT was totally fine--my friend (who goes in there quite a bit and recommended the place) liked his burger a lot. The food was ok but what sets this place apart is the bartender. He was amazingly friendly and warm. I would definitely go back. However, part of the reason why I'd not been to Fitzgerald's very much is because there are two other pubs in the area (Molly's and The Globe) that I love. I won't go as far as making this my all-the-time go to place--I love the food at Molly's---but will definitely come back here regularly.
We didn't eat but came on for a couple of drinks. On arrival a fab welcome from the guy behind the bar. I think he was the manager owner. Great IPAs, lagers and Amber's. The staff couldn't do anymore for you. Really lovely people and the great quality of drink was at a great value. 2ould highly recommend for the quality of hospitality recieved. Thank you xxx
My husband and I went here last night to beat the insane St Patrick's Day weekend crowd that will ensue today and we had a blast. John was our bartender and he was awesome. Attentive, warm, welcoming and pours a helluva drink. The crowd was great too. I'm a chatty Cathy and everyone I spoke to was really nice and friendly. Crowd was a nice age and by that I mean not too young. Really a great vibe & atmosphere. Hoping to go back this week for lunch cuz the food looks AMAZING! We've been looking for a neighborhood place to go to a couple of times a month and I think we found it.
I was in NY for a concert at The Gramercy Theatre. I had a room at Carlton Arms Hotel. I checked in around 12 and walked down to Fitzgerald's, I had already scoped it out on Google. Spent a couple hours there drinking a couple beers and having a great hamburger and fries. John the Bartender was great. Enjoyed conversation with him and couple of regulars. I loved the look of the bar, the atmosphere was great. Don't know when I will be back there but I will certainly drop in again.
Chill AC'd spot we found so some friends can watch Copa América.
Whether you're a friend of the neighborhood, at student at the local school, or a outsider, Fitzgerald offers that welcoming vibe that any pub should offer. Though a bit lacking in space, one could argue that the small interior provides a more intimate experience.
Nice bar with a neighborhood feel to it and a friendly Irish bartender. Plus they have a dart board!!
Everything you want in a Irish pub, great bar food ,Friendly staff and a good selection of drinks to choose from.
Good food beer was warm they need to kick on those coolers
I really enjoyed hanging out to have drinks with my friends while we were in town. I didn't order any food so I can't comment on it.
Classy set up here, with a dope staff. Felt like the bartender was hangin out with us rather than serving us (which yes, I do mean as a good thing). Fun spot.
Fitzgerald's Pub is great for what I needed: A pub / bar in this area that's open late and not too late so you can chat with friends after (and during) a late night out. The staff was all great, and it seems like a local watering hole for some. Plenty of standard bar seating and small tables throughout, and a handful of chairs and tables outdoors along the sidewalk and street.
Solid spot. Food was decent. Portions were good. Prices were fine. Service was friendly, albeit kind of slow despite it not being very crowded at all. Given the food was good, not great and the service was slow, I don't really feel comfortable giving it 5 stars. But like I said … a solid spot, and I would be willing to go back. But there are other spots in the area (Molly's which is just a block away or so as an example) that are better. However, this place does have the stamp of approval from @nutfreeinNYC so that's a big plus.
Bartender was great. Lots of sports on TV. Food was ehhhhh..
So we happened upon this establishment just driving by and didn't see a crowd so we decided to stop in. It was about 6pm on a Saturday in March and there was only about 8 people inside. Plenty of room. Instantly got a table. The first beer, a blue point toasted, didn't taste right but the Stella they replaced it with was good. The food menu is simple but good. The usual burgers wings apps bangers and mash Shepard's pie. Etc. We had the wings, fries, and bangers and mash and it was all really good. Not the best I've ever had but a solid dinner in a place with really nice atmosphere. It felt like going into a small town bar but in the big city. Would definitely go back. Hoping they get that issue with the blue point figured out. Not sure if it was the keg or if they maybe didn't clean the lines out. Not sure but the taste was off but they immediately fixed it. Very happy and definitely recommend
Great service, but not an attractive pub. It's hot, smelly and for some reason there are always gnats everywhere. Bartenders are cool though!
Drinks are ok priced - bartender sometimes unattentive
The chicken pot pie was very bland, it needs more seasoning/flavor. The nachos were ok, but could use more toppings. The bangers and mash were very good. We were there for lunch and it was not crowded, just us and a few regulars.
I do not like leaving bad reviews but sometimes you just have to, 1st off the atmosphere was good, 2nd the server did not listen to you and was drunk seen her doing shots at the bar. 4 of us dined in we ordered 2 ceaser salads 1 with chicken the salads were the best part but you cant hardly mess that up we ordered the Fitzgerald burger with Swiss medium cooked with sweet potato fries the burger came out RAW AS CAN BE the fries were good I ordered the steak medium cooked it came out WELL DONE HARDLY CHEWABLE I ordered Fries and vegetable of the day it came out with mashed potatoes and the vegetables seemed days old reheated but cold, she did bring the fries those were good but the kicker is i was served with no steak knife there is also no salt pepper or any sauces on the table we did not say anything because of the fear they will mess with your food if you say something if they offer to remake it the drinks were good white Russians and the Fitzgerald amber beer
Typical college dive bar. Meh food items. The bartenders were extremely disrespectful to my friends because they took their time ordering drinks when the bar was almost empty.... Doesn't make sense. Also I'm pretty sure the owner was drunk.
Not an Irish bar!!! More of a night club atmosphere. Went there with my dad and brothers. Our last name is Fitzgerald and this is not what I expected. Went Fitzgeralds in Ireland and I thought maybe it would be similar. If you’re looking for a laid back Irish Pub this is not it.
Worst pub ever! Bad food and dirty toilets. The staff is impolite and doesn't respect customers as well. I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone. Don't go there and disappoint yourself.
Would give zero stars if I could, the bartender wouldn’t let me order a drink as I have a service dog, who’s super well behaved. Avoid this place if you want a fair spot.
Normally I'd stop here for drinks with out friends from out town/state/country but we got turned away by a bartender because a friend had an ID from the Emirates even though I used my expired under 21 ID to order drinks. You're better off going to the East Village at that point
Went here after a friend recommended it. Not sure if they were under staffed or not but we say outside and the server/ bartender was very rude. Asked for drinks from the board outside and the website and were told they don’t have either.
It seems like the bartender drinks at work. I ordered a Vodka Cranberry, and it tasted just like juice. I did complain to him, but he said that is how it was done, however the first one came out a bit lighter than the first one which means that the second one had more cranberry juice than vodka. AND HE also charged us for a double vodka which makes no sense…Btw! (The bartender is skinny, with a hat, tattoos and wears chains.)
Came once after it was highly recommended and unfortunately a particular staff member was very rude, lady with blond hair, I waited about 20 minutes after arriving and not once asked if we were ready to order. It wasn’t until party next to us informed that we were upset due to the poor service. Once we finally got her attention We were only able to order 1 item until she cut us off and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Then We only asked for 2 things and she claimed she didn’t have it yet we saw the other table drinking it. I would definitely not recommend going when she’s there cause people like that are the reason why the restaurant end up looking bad.
Indubitably the worst costumer service experience I've had in my 5+ years living in the city. We sat down at 6 PM and put an order in for two platters, (supposedly plenty of food for a party of 7- I cannot attest to this, as I am writing this review without having experienced the food quality). At 7pm, we ask whether or not our order was almost done. Turns out the waiter didn't even put the order in. I then asked for clarification, in an extremely collected manner. I said, "You didn't put the order in?", to which the waiter responded by putting his hand in front of my face, saying the words, "calm down", in an apparently menacing manner. I don't write reviews often. But when any environment dedicated to providing good times fails its customers by lacking common courtesy and respect, there's a moral obligation to stop it in its tracks. Do not support this business. We all went on a Thursday, when the restaurant was not busy. Even then, I'd get it; it'd be understandable if the plates weren't ready simply because of their size, requiring an hour for preparation. But nope. They let us run out of water and provided zero attention to us in the 45 minutes of empty cups and stomachs. The waiter's name was Manny. Sorry to rat you out, dude. Actions have consequences. (Side note: smoking seems to be allowed in here, so if you're a nonsmoker, consider finding a different place)
The worst experience so far in New York. The guy attending was really unwilling to talk and explain ANYTHING to us. They confiscate your credit card when entering as something obvious, which for a foreigner might be really strange (later with another customer we found out it's a creative way to assure you won't leave without paying). The food and beer were fine, but really the horrible service made the experience awful.
For my first 4 years in NYC this was my hangout mainly because of the WORLD'S BEST BARTENDER named JOSEPH who is just a magnificent friendly human being and an awesome server and drink maker. For some mysterious reason wonderful outstanding Joseph was let go and of course this establishment since that time has been in a nose-dive into the dirtiest and slinkiest sewers of the world! Carlos on Tuesdays is particularly a disdainful excuse for a bartender and is oh so rude. Anyhow who ever heard of an Irishman named Carlos. This pub is basura pura! When Joseph comes back I'm sure this place will b immediately returned to utter excellence!
