Classic diner with one of the best burgers in the city. Just juicy, well cooked with a great sear. Right on that border of staying together and falling apart but never passed completely into falling apart. On top of all that? Incredibly affordable.

I do recommend this Restaurant Amazing 👏customer service! I went today to buy a tosted bagel with extra butter lol and a regular coffee and as soon as I walked-in the whole staff (No kidding) said Good Morning, honestly you don't get that in some places in NYC! The cooker checked my bagel few times of time to make sure that it was well toasted and the guy who make my coffee follow my instructions ( Black Coffee with milk, not to dark not light and no sugar) he told to check my coffee to see is that was the way I wanted and yes it was. Overall incredible experience and customer service is perfect based on my personal experience. Note ➡️ Indoors and Outdoors Seating/ small place but good 👍

Great place for a burger and fries! This corner diner has a short Formica counter, a half-dozen four-seater tables, and an ample menu covering all meals. The platters are also good. The burger is the star.

Come here for a super basic beefy juicy medium cheese burger. Reasonably priced at $6 for the burger only or go for a deluxe which includes veggies and fries. The staff here are warm and friendly. Truly an American diner experience.

Maybe I had a stupendous craving for a burger and fries because of the lockdown, and Joe Junior ticked the boxes perfectly. Even if not, the burger (medium rare please!) was incredibly juicy, beefy, and the fat did not overwhelm. A plain cheeseburger is almost perfect, perhaps only needing a dash of salt, the toasted sesame delightfully popping in your mouth with every bite. The fries are a triumph and are crunchy but soft on the inside, even after sitting inside a takeout container. And did I mention the price? A must go!

Best greasy spoon in town. I'm from Jersey, and have been going to great diners all my life. This is up there with the best of them. Great staff who remember you and your order. Start with their unrivaled under $10 burger, and then get hooked on all their breakfast options.

Jo Jr. is such a traditional feeling local diner—starting with the large portions and ending with the familiar newspaper reading customers. It’s cosy and unpretentious. My plate arrived with lots of potatoes, fresh bread, slices of tomatoes, and the server provided endless cups of coffee. I relished the fresh-squeezed orange juice; it feels deliciously satisfying and so healthy— that alone makes it worth the visit. I recommend Jo Junior, if you want to have an authentic breakfast experience.

Classic Diner spot in Gramercy. Their Burger Deluxe special might be the best deal in the area. Prices are very very reasonable given the uptick the past year. Very nice gentleman at the counter and grill. I will return to give the breakfast menu a go.

The servers are on top of it, the cooks are as good as they come, and the space is right out of the movies! We LOVED our time at Joe Jr., so happy we went out of our way to experience such a great place. IT'S AWESOME!

Stumbled on this place because I needed to use the bathroom & I ordered a coffee as a courtesy. When I grabbed my coffee, I noticed the fries of the guy sitting next to me; they looked amazing so I ordered. Fabulous fries - hot & very crispy, just like I like them. The lady sitting next to me enjoyed a lovely tuna-on-toast sandwich; she said it was wonderful and she usually ordered it. She also mentioned they have the best burgers & that when she lived in the neighborhood this was her neighborhood joint. Food is VERY inexpensive ($5.56 for fries & coffee)!! I’m definitely coming back.

To do something simple, with excellence, is not easy. I have eaten the classic two egg, sausage, home fries and toast breakfast all over NYC, and this is my favorite place. Best breakfast to start the day. One of the last oldfashioned Diners with a nice and cozy atmosphere. Loud when it is crowded, but it feels familiar. Try pancakes and cottage cheese omelette. Soulfood at its best, and it is said, that you get the best burgers in New York. This is a must go for every tourist to feel the "real new York".

Awesome, small homie diner. Phenomenal breakfast and like everybody states exactly what a diner should taste like. It does have indoor and outdoor seating! Definitely worth the time if you’re looking for great diner food !

A Gramercy icon that never fails to deliver. Whether you want a classic NYC greasy spoon or you need to be revived after a night out, Joe Jr has got what you need. Particular highlights are their banana chocolate chip pancakes, gargantuan omelettes, and in my opinion, the best patty melt in the city. The entire staff has been there forever and it shows - can’t recommend enough.

Small quaint corner eatery. I choose to sit at the counter, a throwback to last century. My service was quick and professional. The food was delicious and the coffee hot. I'd recommend the western omelette.

I can not argue when it comes burgers, this really is the best burger I have ever had. Simple cooked medium with cheese and bacon. If you need something that will put a smile on your face this is the place to go. No gimmicks just a true original, a classic you can not go wrong with. If you are in New York City, whether visiting or living this is a must eat spot.

This place was phenomenal. we ordered a spanish omelet and banana pancakes. the omelet was so good but the pancakes????¿¿¿¿¿¿THE PANCAKES????¿¿¿¿ I can say that it was the best pancakes ive ever tasted. fluffy with flavor. Not too sweet. Bananas werent mushy. I wasnt even hungry. Please do yourself a favor and try the banana pancakes.

Great "greasey spoon", friendly staff and clearly had a number of locals dropping past. We did a breakfast diner every day on our 5 day NY trip and these was one of my favourites and was also one of the most reasonably priced.

As soon as I entered Juniors, I knew immediately that I was in for a memorable experience. When I saw the bond between the employees and how happy they were to be working there, I knew that their food will differ from other diners. I got a cozy, family vibe when I was there and It was very comfortable. Their food was really tasty, especially their cheeseburger. The way the burger was cooked is not well done, but more medium, so it was very juicy and tender. However I think you can request a well done burger. Also, the pancakes here was the best I've ever tasted. The prices here are very decent, It will cost you about $10-$15 depending on what you get. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did!

Not only was the food excellent, the service was wonderful. French fries were hot and crispy, we got our food quickly and boy oh boy was it yummy. Perfectly executed patty melt, Reuben and chicken souvlaki plate… and of course plates and plates of the best chocolate chip pancakes. If you’re looking for a solid but small/local diner that will leave everyone happy and satisfied. By far the best small diner in the area.

Absolutely delicious. Crispy corned beef hash. Silky scrambled eggs. Even the toast and butter was quite good. The prices and portions were reasonable. I finished my meal without leaving any leftovers, yet still felt satiated. Great service with a kind smile. The vibe is unpretentious and relaxing. It feels nostalgic like a place where the characters from Seinfeld would hang out. There are not too many tables and the lunch hour can get busy. Seating is not a problem because the patrons come in for a quick bite then leave. The restroom is the smallest I’ve ever seen as if built from a broom closet.

We had the burgers, a milkshake, an egg cream, and a stack of chocolate chip pancakes. It was all excellent - the burgers in particular were exceptional! The staff were attentive and just lovely. Great old school dinner, the food is reasonably priced with large quantities. Seating is limited so if you come at peak times you might have to wait for someone to leave. Overall a great diner.

Classic American diner experience. The staff were pleasant enough but it’s no nonsense. The food (omelettes) came quickly; it all tasted good with nice portions and good value. I think I was given pork not turkey sausage which isn’t ideal so worth checking your order. We very much enjoyed it however and would go again.

Good burger. Somehow I got mixed up and thought I ordered fries, too. Nice place, for people like me who like a simple old fashioned burger joint. Table was a bit cramped for four, maybe they more expect couples. Lack of WiFi was a slight problem.

Tried the burger here and enjoyed the flavor. A thin, juicy patty that somehow manages to nail the patty-to-bun ratio is impressive. However, the fries were not, and the lettuce and tomato weren't fresh. I would recommend avoiding the deluxe option, which renders this a great deal.

Excellent Old School NYC diner. Affordable and comforting. Nothing is going to blow your socks off but you won’t be disappointed. Burger always cooked to your liking on the plancha with a nice sear. Went here with my beautiful wife and we ate like queens. I had a breakfast combo with a waffle, two fried eggs, and two sausages, and washed the whole thing down with orange juice. It was very filling and at a reasonable price for Gramercy. The wife had pancakes and coffee. They were on par with what one should expect for coffee and pancakes at a diner. We’ll be back!

The place is small but customers are wise to eat and allow others to enjoy breakfast and great burgers for lunch. When you go to the US, there are a few things you want to do, in terms of food. You want to eat pancakes, a hot dog, a doughnut... and you want to go to a diner. We Europeans have that romantic idea of the diners from the movies, where you get a coffee before you start eating 😉, where every piece of furniture comes from the 60s or the 70s... Somehow, we even expect an old mustang to be parked in front of the restaurant. So this is what I looked for when I arrived... on Google, which is always sooo reliable... And I found Joe Jr Diner, in Gramercy, close to where we were staying. Well... it turns out that's not a diner (at least that doesn't match our idea of a diner), that's a bar that serves food (oh... ok, maybe it is a diner, after all 😝). But it was late, my son was tired so we went in anyway. I still ordered the burger I was planning on ordering at a diner, and my son and my wife had a Matzo ball soup, because we wanted to try this thing that seems so popular in the US, but never reached Spain or France, as far as I know. I guess that was not the place for the soup... but the burger, even though it didn't look special, was very good, juicy and well cooked (which is the most important, at the end. The atmosphere is... let's say rough, and the staff is nice but it's an old school bar so don't expect much on this side. Overall it was an ok experience, especially because the 3 of us ate enough for $30 in total (only 1 course). I'm not sure I would repeat, though, unless I'm very hungry, it's late and I have no food at home... Tbh I don’t know how this is anyone’s favorite burger. It’s just the most ordinary thing. The meat was fine, but there was no seasoning so it barely tasted like anything.

The burgers here are very good. Very juicy and tasteful. I had the bacon cheese burger and it’s solid. The fries were not all that. I didn’t even finish mine. Kind of disappointed in that. But everyone loved the burgers hands down. The milkshakes were amazing! Tried vanilla strawberry and chocolate and they were all great! I think the strawberry was the best!

We came here for the diner experience and we're satisfied on this point, the atmosphere is pretty nice and the furniture '50s looking. Unfortunately, the food is not bad but not amazing either especially since it's fairly expensive (30 euros for some pancakes, bacon, eggs and coffee). The waiter wasn't very nice but to be fair the place was packed so he was probably in a rush.

These people are disgusting. I asked for well done cheese burgers and they were raw inside. Had my son made me aware after the first bite I would have call them to tell them about it when I told them that they put rotten avocado on my sandwich. Then he proceeded to tell me that the avocado was hot. Sir I eat avocado daily. Hot and cold that does not happen.
