The vodka sauce based penne pasta was to die for. Very rich in flavour and great portion size for the cost. The grandma pie taste good. Nice place, quick service and great taste. Ordered vodka sauce pizza and veggie pizza which tasted amazing. Will definitely visit again.

Back again! Fell in love with The Grandma pizza slice this time! 🔥🔥🔥 Previous review: I'm not a local, but every time I'm here, I always stop and stick to old faithful or try something new. At some point, the name changed to this, but the customer service and food are still spot on! Forgive me for adding lettuce to a philly, but that's just ME! There are so many things to choose from. Philly reminds me more of an upscale roast beef sammy with meat a good mother made from Sunday leftovers, and that is what I need when missing HOME!

The pizza was nice. I ordered white pizza with pesto, and I added mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach. However, I didn’t see or taste any pesto. The pizza itself was okay. The thickness was just right. The combination was nice, but just average. I’m annoyed that they didn’t put pesto on my pizza.

This pizzeria has a large seating area with a TV. They have a good selection of pizzas. The staffs are friendly and attentive. I got a plain slice, I prefer a little more sauce on my slice.

The owner of the restaurant is not even Italian and is selling cans of ginger ale for 2.15 with tax. He told the employees to not take our order after me ordering from the for 2 and a half years everyday because where I live in manhattan there’s not much to choose from. He said no delivery to because I was asking for (free-food) which I have never done I asked for a deal on 6 cans of ginger ale and he wanted to suck all my money 13.00 for a 6 pack of ginger ale I thought since we had a great relationship together Being the owner that he would maybe give me a deal $10 Dollar 9 dollar But simply said no, and said I can’t give out free food, free food I’m paying for it. What are you talking about? Plus I just ordered a pizza and a salad from you and a soup I spent at least $50 with you every day but not anymore you will not receive a dollar from me. I don’t care if I starve which I won’t because I can go to the grocery store and cook way better than you I’m handicap and you are closer which is sad that you stopped serving a handicapped person I can report you to the Department of labor for not delivering to a handicap person you are despicable I have never ever in my life been treated like this in my life, and I have never asked for free food in my life you have lost your mind the end.

I have to say I am very disappointing with this business. I placed a $40 order through Slice, and the food was not acceptable. The Italian sandwich had two slices of ham and a salami. Really?? For $11???? That's ridiculous! The mozzarella sticks were not even cooked through. The cheese was still solid! To top it off the tomatoes that were added to the sandwich are spoiled! This can cause food poisoning and make me really sick! When my concern was brought up to the Slice customer service, I was told the restaurant would not be offering any solution. . . Unacceptable! If this is the quality of food you offer your customers, you do not deserve to be in business! Do not eat here! Save yourself the disappointment!

I’ve been coming here for months now, i’ve never had to leave a review on any store but i feel like this place was so well kept but it has gone downhill and it is very sad to see due to this being in the neighborhood and having decent food. I came early night, it was very quiet literally only one customer sitting, so there was no excuse for first of all the store was absolutely disgusting and dirty like nobody had even passed by with even a broom throughout the whole day, napkins, pieces of pizza dropped and paper plates all over the floor, dirty tables and chairs that if u were to sit you would have to change your clothes let alone eat on those tables. I asked for a towel so i can clean the table i was sitting at and was told “grab some napkins you have them right there and do it”. All of them on their phones besides the pizzaman so i don’t see why they cant keep the establishment clean or at least clean their hands before touching my pizza. I ordered 2 slices one cheese and one buffalo chicken, no gloves were used and they put their finger on my slices while putting and taking them out the oven, i dont even see a reason why they put them in the oven since the pizza came out cold either way they left it there for less than 10 seconds so they can get rid of me. This is absolutely disgusting they dont take care of the store or themselves, i don’t know if they changed the management because things haven’t been the same for the last 2 months, there used to be a young gentleman, skinny with tattoos on his arms and hand that made going into the store feel like a breath of fresh air, always clean, always amazing with the customers and you would always see him running around making sure everything is at 100%. I don’t know what happened to him, i haven’t seen him the last couple times i’ve came here, and you can see the difference. It is very sad to see and i will not be going back

Ordered a white pie (allergic to tomatoes and a vegetarian). The white pie had pepperoni on it and was cut with a pizza cutter that had tomato sauce, so there tomato sauce on every slice. When I told the staff, the 2 young guys at the counter couldn’t have cared less and told me it is what it is and they can’t do anything. Asked if I could see a manager, they both shrugged and one of them said they are the manager, and put a glove on and took the pepperoni off and said “this is okay now right”. I made issue with this, then thankfully the older guy behind the counter actually making the pizza behind the counter said he’d make another and it’d be 25 min. The entire time the young guys kept glaring at me as I waited. And then when it was done, the young guys kept who said he’d was a manager tossed the newly made pizza on the counter and said “here” turned away immediately. Thankfully there a tons of pizza places in the the city don’t need to waste my time here again

We like this pizza place but always have issues with the service. This is the second time I’ve ordered from La Vita and received an order with a mistake. The first time I received the wrong pie. The second time I ordered one regular pie and one white pie. Before leaving we checked the pies and saw the white pie had a random piece of pepperoni on the top. When we asked why there was pepperoni on the pizza the employee responded that the pepperoni was kosher so it was fine. When I informed them that the pizza was for a vegetarian allergic to tomatoes the employee took off the piece of pepperoni with his hand. I looked at white pizza again and noticed the top was covered in splashes of tomato sauce and asked if the employee had cut the pizza with a knife covered in tomato sauce. The employees looked at me confused and I pointed out that was cross contamination and the pizza could not be eaten because of a tomato allergy. The employee proceeded to explain that “this is a pizza shop, this is how we do things, we use the same knife on everything.” They then proceeded to place the blame on us because a tomato allergy was not noted in the order for the white pizza. After 5 minutes of refusing to take the contaminated pizza that had the random pepperoni removed by the employee and cut with a dirty knife the chef finally offered to remake the pizza. I was genuinely shocked by the lack of customer service and consideration for a customers dietary restrictions from an establishment that serves food. As a chef I was incredibly disgusted and would not allow this behavior to happen in my kitchen. I will not be returning to La Vita and I will not be advising others in the neighborhood to do so.

This place is slowly going downhill. The pizza tastes stale or like it was refrigerated and reheated. The staff preparing the food and making the pizza do not wear gloves and eat while they’re making the pizza. This place needs to be reported to the department of health. Too much competition in this neighborhood for businesses to slack on safety and quality control. Won’t be going back.

I’m a regular here and ordered 3 plain slices, garlic bread, and an order of onion rings for delivery. After a few bites of the pizza, we went for the onion rings. Upon eating the onion rings we found a band aid under the marinara sauce. One of us vomited out of disgust. 🤢🤮 Called La Vita and they denied any one of using a band aid. They did refund me but this is a major health violation as diseases spreads this way. They clearly lack quality control and following health codes.
