The combo of the half soup half sandwich is just awesome. You get for a really good price two large portion, its just the perfect meal. The salmon sandwich and the onion soup were the best in my opinion. Super fresh and made on the spot. I just have to say it takes a lot of time to the food get to the table. But it is worth the wait, we went there twice because we loved it so much.
Absolutely loved this place. It’s small, cozy, and has such a chill vibe. When we walked in, someone was playing guitar, which made it feel extra warm and welcoming. The service was super friendly, and the food was good. Loved everything about it!
Has a peaceful atmosphere, excellent pizza and perfect martinis! Me and my partner found this little gem after visiting the met, and was only about a 20 minute walk. We loved the friendly service and the crust on the pizza was just thin enough to be satisfying and crispy. Well worth the visit!
One of my favorite places in the whole city. Amazing happy hour wine selection and the french onion soup is my go-to.
The team here knows exactly how I like my food prepared. The food here makes me happy. Restaurant staff deliver friendly service with perfect meal recommendations. This spot met all my needs. The complete experience was memorable.
Excellent food and very friendly & attentive staff. We store in for a quick bite on a Friday mid-afternoon and everyone raved about their food and drinks. All of the waitstaff and bartenders were wonderful. It was a little warm inside for my taste, but most folks probably wouldn't mind.
What a gem. We're visiting from Chicago, and after a day at the Met, we looked for something unique. We found it. It server, (last name, because he said his first make is difficult to pronounce) Paul was great at greeting us, and welcoming. We ordered some happy hour drinks and an appetizer. The Persian so was good, but not quite to our tastes. The lamb curry was fabulous. The extra surprise was the regular Trio that plays there regularly.
Loved the place. Food was really good, staff is nice, live music is lovely. Tomato soup was boiling hot but delicious. Crab cake came with a delicious salad. Shrimps were nice too. Onion soup (per my friend) was "real, solid, not pretentious". Very happy we stopped by.
Great spot for a casual meal. The onion soup and Cuban sandwich I had weren't the best I've ever tried, but for the price and considering it's the UES, it's a pretty good deal. I especially like that one can get half of any sandwich in their menu. They also have pretty good happy hour specials!
Decent food, better wine in lovely cozy restaurant with tables or bar seating, outdoor seating and very pleasant wait staff. We generally go here for the live jazz, the wine, the atmosphere. The food is good enough. Great place to get takeaway soup.
Last night i paid 38$ for 2 chicken soup and one mozzerella pesto sandwich. Idk how much was it mozzerella pesto🤣 people nice food tasty
This place is not a bad restaurant, but I'd say it's average. I think the food was decent, it was tasty, but I would not go again as I can name a lot of better tasting breakfast joints around the city. I thought that the omellete was a bit bland and lacked salt, as well as the hash that I got. My favourite dish on the menu was the French toast.
Service NOT GOOD in general. Check your bill. I'd had two cocktails when I inquired why my credit card was charged $123 which was more than the bill and I was told there was a surcharge for using the credit card. When I got home I noticed the bill clearly said $115 for cash and $119 for using credit card. Like an idiot I'd tipped $20. Not a huge deal, but I would never return -I felt like they'd stolen from me.
Cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was not good. The service was indifferent. The ‘Vege on Nan Wrap’ was drenched in balsamic vinaigrette and the Nan was soggy. The lentil soup was mush, better tasting from a can. Disappointing.
I don't even know what this meal was. But I paid $37 for a meal the staff clearly saw I didn't eat. The lentil soup had no flavor or seasoning, where is the cheese or butter, it's supposed to be a Jambon De Paris- French ham, butter bread and gruyere cheese sandwich. Also zero flavor. Clearly, no customer service if you can see me not eating my food. I asked for the check and you didn't even ask me if I wanted a box. My entire plate was there except a bite and a half on my sandwich. Paid my $37 tab and now I'm going to go have lunch, some where else.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, a huge fan of the food, the staff, the wonderful atmosphere, always a delight. That changed last Friday, April 6, 2024, when ordered 2 bassa fish sandwiches to-go and received them undercooked. The middle part of the fish was completely uncooked and and different color. Wasn’t in a place where we could cook it further so had to throw it out. What a waste. Sent an email that same evening to restaurant with pics and no reply, so here we are. Sorry to blast one of my favorite places, but not even an acknowledgment? Undercooked seafood is not something I can get over, we could have gotten really sick if not paying attention. I want my money back, please get in contact with me. Not calling and getting hung up on, a la previous reviewer.
