Marinara Pizza is a popular spot known for its generous pizza slices and friendly staff, especially John and Nick. Chicken Parm platters and vodka sauce-based dishes are highly recommended. Some find the sauce bland or delivery unreliable.

We ordered in- Wings! Regular wings and boneless both were perfect. Pizza with extra cheese, Burt broccoli and penne vodka. Delicious!!! Everyone in my house is happy ;)
Ordered 2 large Margherita pies for a group and friends birthday. The staff was very accommodating bc I had pre ordered online but they were able to start making pizzas earlier. Boy were they a hit! Many amazed at the good quality mozarella used. Im pretty picky with pizza and I loved it. The workers were super friendly too. Will go back
I got an eggplant parm pie large added mushrooms. It was DELICIOUS! It has mozzarella cheese, eggplant, mushrooms and basils. It was fragrant and simply delicious. The ratio of the topping and the crust was perfect. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve had. Will definitely come back. The restaurant is clean and the floor is not sticky or greasy at all. So glad to find this pizzeria in my neighborhood! The staff were friendly and nice, too!
I’m a Manhattan resident since 1978 and experienced a zillion pizza places over the years They have the most amazing an eggplant and margaritas pizzas. The sauce is fresh, crust thin The other locations are not as good as this one All of the pizzas look delicious here. It’s better than the hip popular joints
Not only is the pizza outstanding, but the staff could be the friendliest people on the UWS. Shoutout to John and Nick for serving up some of the meanest pies in NYC. Chicken parm slice and the vodka Sicilian are personal favorites. Salads are banging too - I should probably eat more of those. Marinara for the win.
Took some notes while eating here: - great pepperoni. Small & flavorful. - Free water. - open seating space layout. - Sauce is bland. - Cheese is doing its job. But has No flavor - spices are in packets. Not as fresh. - Big thin crust is great. Not my favorite NYC pizza but the pepperoni is on point.
I stopped by here sometime in 2020 and remember being underwhelmed by the MVP (marinara, vodka, pesto and) slice. I gave it another chance and it was great. I also ordered their vodka slice, which was very good as well. Seeing that their vodka sauce was delicious, I also ordered chicken parm in vodka sauce. It was so cheesy as it should be. I got a side of their burnt broccoli, because I love roasted broccoli. This one is delicious with big chunks crispy, toasted garlic. I also got their chicken Caesar salad slice, because if I'm getting a salad it has to be on pizza. Everything was tasty and the service was quick and efficient. Overall, I would definitely go there if you're on the Upper East Side. Follow me on Instagram: @ms_new_foodie & @msnewfoodie on TikTok for more restaurant reviews!
Easily my favorite pizza place in the city. So many options. Slices come crispy and fresh. Great dishes and salads too. I order penne vodka with melted mozz, and I also get the chicken parm with vodka sauce a lot. Can’t go wrong with a stuffed crust or there spinach artichoke slice as well. One of the best in the city IMO.
On a particularly cold day, we ran during lunchtime into the Marinara Pizzeria, We walked in without checking and surprised for the best. The dough is thin and made excellent, the Pizza slices are generous, the extras are interesting and unique. The service is quick and friendly. highly recommended.
Pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was a bit undercooked, the sauce lacked flavor and had a strange texture. Almost like a gel/paste. However, it was a wonderful surprise to find they don't skimp on toppings. The sauce and toppings ratio helped hide the texture of the sauce. Ordered through an app, and it was hot and ready to go as scheduled. However, I stood at the counter being ignored for almost 5 minutes. So small in there you definitely see everybody. I guess I wasn't the "everybody" they cared to see?!?
I only got 1 regular slice which I'm learning would be a good measure for what you'll get if you'd want a specialty. I will admit that for four dollars this spot is definitely not it. I wasnt wow'd at all, it's a standard slice with no difference to anything else in sight. However, it has an acceptable ratio of dough that could probably work on its technique. What I believe would help it get a higher rating would likely be better tomato sauce as that was lacking. For what you'd get you might as well charge people 3 at the max and no higher than that.
Quick service, busy with good pizza. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ended up ordering 4 slices of pizza. I had BBQ chicken, Caesar salad, buffalo chicken and sausage pepperoni. The slices are big and well prepared. It’s a couple blocks from Central Park and if you want some pizza visit here.
Marinara pizza is a good place to stop by for a quick bite of pizza. The slice is thin with a crispy crust the way we like it but it can use more sauce. Right now you can't get a taste of what their sauce taste like because there's not enough on the slice for you to know it's there. We had a regular slice which needed more sauce then hubby had a pepperoni slice and I had sausage/ mushrooms slice. I added oregano & hot pepper flakes and the combination was absolutely wonderful. The sausage; I was thrilled that it was the sliced and not the crumbled. I find that the actual slice of sausage has much more taste than the crumbled. The other thing I found was the regular slice was quite oily even though there was no topping like pepperoni or sausage on it. The pepperoni was cut in little circles so after cooking they turned up instead of staying flat as it would if it was a sliced bigger. It was cold outside and they had the door open where I could see my breath in the air and I found it unwelcoming since I had to ask my hubby to ask them if we can close the door. That should have been a given as the thing to do for the warmth of their customers. Everyone stayed bundled up eating their food instead of doing the natural thing of inquiring if they can close the door. It's good but it could be much better with more sauce and consideration of having their customers warm as they eat instead of feeling like we were standing out in the cold eating. Also I would have liked to have tried their cauliflower crust pizza but they only make it for ordering a pie. I'm not going to order a whole pie if I dont know if I like it.
Order food to go, had to wait an additional 40 minutes after they said it would be ready. When asking the cashier how much longer continuously got “it’s coming up.” When asked do you have an estimate on time she would say i don’t know, you’ll need to ask the back. When I asked can you ask the back, she would say it’s too busy you’ll just have to wait. Awful customer service
I kept ordering thinking they must have gone back to their old original mozzarella sticks by now, and every time it’s whatever new frozen version (but still high price) they were replaced with. I wish they would bring back the original locally famous mozzarella sticks! I will stop trying now, I’ve lost hope.
I used to be a huge fan of the cauliflower crust pizza, as one of the only low-carb/keto-friendly ones I’ve found. Sure, it was pricey ($20 for basic, $24 for margherita) and the cooking was inconsistent (crust often burnt) but I appreciated it nonetheless. Those days are no more - the cauliflower crust costs the same but is a completely different consistency and surely contains tapioca, rice flour, etc. There’s absolutely no way it qualifies as low-carb anymore, and besides removing the old ingredients from their website, you’d never know it (their Instagram account still shows off the old version in recent posts). No longer works for me - ate half out of obligation but threw most of it out. Was fun while it lasted! - - - Before 2023 - - - $20 for a cauliflower crust pizza? Yep. And it’s really, really good. I’m a big fan of cauliflower crusts, but only when they’re actually low-carb (meaning no tapioca flour or corn starch). Marinara makes theirs right, binding the cauliflower with cheese and egg. It’s a perfect base for a solid NYC pizza
Their pizza is by no means as good as it once was. In fact, their cauliflower pizza was their only 'best' feature and it has deteriorated. BUT, their service and attitude are abysmal. Delivery came 30 minute late, after calling to inquire, with a nonchalant - "we are busy". Clearly, they do not warrant that level of business.
I was SO excited to try this place for the first time. I ordered a small cauliflower pizza and a salad that took an hour to be ready for pickup. When it arrived, the chicken was missing on the pizza… it was just sauce (was supposed to have many toppings).. and the pizza looked like it had seen better days, I tried calling multiple times and no answer. So disappointing as I was so excited to try this! If you are the manager and want to make it up to a paying customer. Feel free to reach out for my info!
Food is good but the restaurant is entirely unreliable to meet delivery orders. They are consistently late in preparing the food, sometimes by an hour or more, and will ignore any attempts to contact them by phone. We have even had instances where they just never prepare the food and do not even respond to Uber Eats or our attempts to contact them.
Set up a pizza delivery for a birthday party and the pizza came 30 mins late. The delivery guy through sauce was great but was not notified by Marinara how late the pizza would be. I spoke to them an hour and a half before to confirm.
