Maestro Pasta is everything you hope a classic New York Italian restaurant will be. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is attentive without ever feeling rushed. The pasta is exceptional, made fresh in plain sight, clearly made with care and respect for tradition. Every dish we tried was perfectly balanced, rich in flavor, and thoughtfully prepared. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the pride that goes into the kitchen. I highly recommend the polenta fries to start! It’s the kind of place that reminds you why Italian food done the right way never goes out of style. Whether you’re visiting the city or a local looking for a reliable favorite, Maestro Pasta delivers consistently and beautifully. Highly recommend and absolutely worth returning to.
What a great spot!! My wife and I often enjoy trying new (to us) pasta spots and this one has probably been the best so far. I had the Pasticciata and Lasagna, for which the Pasticciata gets the spotlight, it is creamy and very flavorful, it was so good I barely took breaths between each bite. My wife had the Cacio e Pepe and burrata salad, the Cacio e Pepe was also very very good, it may have a slight upper hand over everything else we ordered, great taste, creamy and overall just incredible. Most definitely will be returning and recommend you give it a try!
Maestro Pasta in New York is pure magic — a slice of Italy right in the heart of the city! The hospitality is warm, genuine, and makes you feel instantly at home. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal — come a casa. It was so irresistible that I went back four times in just one week! This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves Italian cuisine.
An excellent dining experience from start to finish. The food was authentically Italian and done really well. The interior decor adds a great atmosphere, and the staff were outstanding — enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely welcoming. Will definitely be back next time we’re in the US!
Delicious food, became one of my fav go to places in the city when I’m in the mood for pasta. The owner seems to really take his pasta seriously. Servers can sometimes make you feel rushed when taking your order, but they are not necessarily rude. I don’t take it to heart that much. Just know what you want before you get there. Food is always prepared with care and that’s what I really appreciate about the place.
Second time at this gem! Fantastic food (we have been to Italy a lot) and service. Haven’t had better pasta in the city. Highly recommend and will come back again and again. Thank you ❤️
I had only passed by before, but finally stopped in for dinner on a weekday afternoon. It was impressive to see the handmade pasta being prepared right in front of us. With both table and bar seating, it also feels like a good place to come alone. I ordered the Puttanesca and a glass of white wine, the portion was generous enough that I couldn’t finish and had to take the rest to go. The noodles were a bit thicker than I usually prefer, but overall I really enjoyed the meal.
Wonderful food after hitting the NYC with 2 kids we needed a great homemade meal. The service was friendly and the kids loved the swing benches :) We were cold and starving , fresh homemade pasta hit the spot. Lovely atmosphere, sweet staff with a great sense of humor:)
Went in expecting a good meal, but boy were we blown away! Each pasta was flavorful & bold. The Cacio a Pepe was one of the bests I’ve had. The service— incredible! Marco is an absolute gem! If the food had been mids we would come back for him alone. TY NY 💘💘
Staff is EXTREMELY kind and informative!!!! The food is FANTASTIC, AUTHENTIC & made to order!!!! They have adorable swings to sit on while enjoying your delightful meal. The staff also makes you feel as though you’re family. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back the next time we are in the city!!
This place really delivers on both food and vibe. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the sight of fresh pasta being made right in front of you — the guy working the pasta machine is actually the same one you’ll see in a bunch of their Google photos and videos on Google maps reviews. It’s a fun, unique touch that sets the tone right away. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and cozy with string lights that add a nice glow. The service was genuinely great — super friendly staff who made the whole experience feel welcoming. Now for the coolest part: some of the seats are actually swings. Yep, actual swings hanging from the ceiling. It’s a really fun idea, but heads up — if you want to sit on those, definitely make a reservation. We didn’t, so we ended up at a regular table (still comfy though). As for the food: excellent across the board. The Bolognese was a standout, but honestly, every pasta we tried — red sauces, white sauces, different noodle types — was on point. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Would happily go back — just with a reservation next time so we can snag those swing seats.
Amazing authentic Italian food. Alessandro is warm and welcoming and the food truly is a meal like you have never experienced!!! You will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to come back. The coziness of the tables and swings are so unique and inviting.
Got the Cacio e Pepe and it was unreal :) super creamy, perfectly al dente, exactly how I love it. The focaccia was fluffy inside, crispy outside, totally addictive. Chill vibe, friendly service… honestly, can’t wait to go back.
Truly an amazing pasta spot! Ordered the cacio e pepe and it was out of this world. Pasta was perfectly al dente and sauce was creamy but not too rich. Owner came by to check on us and was very kind!
We were in New York for two days and decided to visit this restaurant. Everything was very delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was excellent. Even though we were a large group, everything was well organized and attentive. The owner personally took great care of us, which made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming, like home. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.
My son and I walked into Maestro Pasta for a quick bite with no expectations and we were very pleasantly surprised when we were promptly seated at the bar and taken care of in a warm friendly atmosphere like we eat there every night. The surprise of this restaurant is that it is in a very touristy neighborhood, yet it has the feeling like a restaurant you could eat at regularly and always be satisfied/delighted with your food. We had such a nice experience. The menu was full of pleasant surprises and yummy choices. The service was friendly, available, pleasant, and proud of the beautiful food that they were making and serving. I look forward to going back and taking my GF, starting with the artichoke appetizer as a nice prelude to the homemade pasta.
I just had a fantastic dining experience with my husband and our adult daughter at Maestro! Alessandro and his team are terrific - they all made us feel so welcome. The food is delicious - we could see our pastas cut just before serving (which is special and unique) and exactly as we requested. The portions are generous and the wines were great. The atmosphere is great - beautifully decorated with an energetic feel yet still easy to talk and hear just our table. We loved Maestro so much that we are now planning some private parties there. Maestro Pasta is a true gem!
We are visitors from Paris and happened to come across this restaurant by chance. We met James, who is an amazing person and a wonderful waiter. Thank you so much for your time, your advice, and the delicious food. We wish you all the best.
I discovered this restaurant two years ago, and it is one of my favorite spots to share with those close to me. They give a good amount of food, for what I believe is a fair price here in the city. One entree could be your lunch and dinner, for the next day lol. In terms of flavor, I haven't had a bad experience, I am accustomed to well seasoned dishes, and they meet the mark for me! Some plates are a bit on the spicier side, but if you don't mind spice, You'll be alright. I recently placed an order from the shop directly for a birthday dinner, and all my guests enjoyed the food. They kept asking me where the food was from and even making comments such as "this food is better than the restaurant by my home." I recommend this restaurant :)
Great experience we had James our server was very attentive and very kind throughout our experience. The food was tasty we had some of the barbecue chicken which came with separate white rice which was very good. Pro tip ask for some hot chutney on the side. The chicken biryani was very flavorful. The garlic naan and paratha were great as well. Special thanks to James for making our evening unforgettable.
I ordered appetizer catering for 5 events at my job over 3 days; ordering and delivery were seamless and the staff was super responsive to any questions I had throughout the process. The food was also a hit with the attendees at the event and all the ingredient and dietary information was easily accessible on the catering menu. We'll definitely be ordering again! Thank you!
Our Indian family friends recommended this place and commented Mint Masala dishes were closed for what they had back home. We are so glad that we got to have lunch together there and enjoyed a wonderful with friends and delicious food. All the dishes were amazing: chicken tikka masala (red sauce), chicken tikka (no sauce), fish masala, garlic naan, and chicken vandaloo.
I have had my fair share of tikka masala and biryani. To date, their version is one of the richest in flavor profile. The vegetable pakora is filling by itself. As for service, it is superb as our server was very attentive. He brought us sauces without us asking and our water was always full. The bathroom is all the way inside the kitchen. As you walk, the chefs in the back were so courteous. I recommend paying a visit for some great indian food in the area.
Cute, yummy, and cozy! Mint Masala is one of my regular go-to restaurants in the area. The different curries are creamy and delicious, and they can adjust the level of spiciness to your needs. Their vegetable samosas are great and their lentil soup is perfect for a winter day. They have a vegetarian section and other options that can be made vegetarian. It’s a small spot, so I recommend checking in before heading there!
Tried this small restaurant first time after a busy day in the city for dinner. We ordered Roghani Josh lamb and Daal Tadka with Naan and mangoe lassi. Everything was well prepared and freshly done. The service was awesome and the waitress Lobsang was prompt and extremely knowledgeable about the food and suggested good dishes. Topped off the dinner with some warm and moist Gulab jamun. Awesome food. We will be back.
My favorite local Indian spot! Service is great, food is delicious. Delivery is also quick, and food arrived hot. They have a great lunch special too. Prices are fair, especially given the large portions. I can often get two meals out of one entree! Definitely give it a try! Chana masala, palak paneer, veggie samosa, aloo Gobi and garlic naan are my favorites. Oh, and many great vegetarian options too!
Really enjoyed eating there with my friends. Food was decently priced, service was great, food arrived really quick. They had a dish called vindaloo sauce which made my friend and I happy as we enjoyed spicy food but ordered everything mild for our other friends who don't. Add the vindaloo sauce and it kicks it up a notch....Or two
Maestro Pasta is such a cute place. Very small with moderately limited seating, but I was able to walk right in and get a table for 2 at 7pm on a Saturday with no wait. It was so neat to see the pasta being made right in front of you, and the atmosphere is so great. The service was amazing, VERY quick to deliver the meal and drinks, and very friendly. I got an espresso martini which was very delicious (just note, it is more on the expensive side, almost the same price as my meal) but it was amazing. Unfortunately, I felt like my food (Bolognese with fettuccine noodles) was lacking. The portion size was great, definitely MORE than enough food for me (enough for 2 meals), but the taste was not was I was expecting. It was quite bland and underwhelming compared to the environment. Overall, this was a good place to visit and I had a good experience, I just wish my food was a bit more flavorful.
We were hungry and thirsty while walking down this street, and decided to eat here. Definitely worth it. They hand made their pasta in front of our eyes, and the sauces were creamy, flavorful, and great portions as well. The place is small, but looked like you stepped into a little bit of Italy. Waiters were incredibly friendly and nice, and served with efficiency. Would come here again, definitely worth it.
Fried Artichoke hearts was a great starter and the garlic aioli was great. Tiramisu was surprisingly dry but not the worst, not enough coffee flavor. Tartufo with fettuccine was the best pasta dish, Anolini Pasticciati filling was flavorless but the sauce was good. Tartufo focaccia was super filling and tasted great but it was really heavy, I didn’t expect so much cheese and sauce. Atmosphere was amazing, food was good, service was all right.
Their online menu is different than what’s offered for lunch special in the restaurant, which is why I gave service 3 stars. I actually forgot the name of the main dish ordered but it was delicious, especially paired with the garlic naan. The fritters were quite tough so I don’t recommend. I’ll back to try more dishes in the near future.
I recently visited Mint Masala during my visit to NYC. We went here for Brunch. I was accompanied by my friend. The restaurant is small in size with approximately 8 to 10 seating. The service staff looked new to the food and beverage industry. We ordered Chicken Samosa in the starter section and straight away ordered the main course. In the main course section we ordered Cashew Chicken along with Garlic Naan and Keema Naan. To make the meal complete we ordered buttermilk on the side. The food tasted decent. Keema Naan was really heavy to finish. Buttermilk was delicious and perfect consistency. The jeera powder used in buttermilk took it to the next level. Overall our brunch experience was good. You can head over to Mint Masala and satisfy your hunger through Indian delicacies. Overview - Ambience - 4/5 Food - 4/5 Service - 3.5/5 Value for money - 4/5
A cosy restaurant, with great Indian food. Try thr aloo tiki chaat, you get one piece but it is crisp, warm, and surrounded with Chana (which for some reason were cold). The chicken saag and palak paneer were delicious, and enough to share with others. The vegetable biryani was with overcooked rice, and very mild flavors so you should skip it. The Naan were warm and soft, must order. Service is excellent.
Nice place for a quick stop. Got a samosa Chaat, the quantity was less but it was around $7 too, so okay, tasted nice too. Got the lunch platter which had chicken Tikka masala, rice and chickpeas with gravy. The quantity was great for the price, the taste was okay. The Tikka masala tasted very unoriginal and too simple. A decent place overall.
