I loved this place! It’s located in a really beautiful area, and the venue couldn’t be more cozy. I happened to be there on my birthday, and the girls working were absolutely lovely!!! On December 4th, if you’re reading this, know that you brightened our morning, and we actually stayed for lunch because of you. Thank you for everything — I will definitely come back when I return to NY.
We were walking around Little Italy and wanted a nice little bar to sit and have a drink...This is the place..highly recommended..excellent bar service and drinks made to a high standard.
Meatballs and wings were top notch. Cool vibe and wonderful service.
I’ve been watching SIC for years and didn’t realize this place was on the show😭 My friend had a get together here a few days ago and it was the perfect space for a large group. Sobers be ware though, you’ve gotta keep an open mind. There’s no mocktail list, so get creative with the bartender like I did ✨
Stopped in to get out of the cold and to grab a drink. Absolutely amazing burgers here. Just wow. And the kitchen was able to do black n blue and nailed it. Burger nerds rejoice.
Onieal’s is a Little Italy staple. The vibes are super cozy and old school. It’s a spacious bar offering seating for large parties. The food menu is mainly American serving a variety of burgers, salads, soups, fried foods, and drinks. The bartenders are really cute and outgoing. Always have a wonderful time here at any point in the day. Great place to watch sports too. I’d also suggest this as a date spot.
A famous Sex in the City spot. The SIC cosmo was yummy. The Samantha strong and tasty. The service was a little lacking, but we were there for a drink.
Great atmosphere & stunning interior! They do Mondelo lager here which is a bonus!
Wonderful staff and great food. Outside seating with a wonderful breeze for the summer in Manhattan. Highly recommend
For a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in this neighborhood there are few better places. The building itself is beautiful inside with high ceilings and a long wood bar. The seating is open and spacious with one area designed more as a lounge and the other half for dining. Beers on tap were decent and the mixed drinks looked good too.
This place is awesome. The decor is wonderful, the service was outstanding and the food was great. I celebrated my birthday here and I would definitely come back.
after not enjoying anything we were having all weekend we decided to walk into onieal’s and genuinely had the best meal i’ve ever eaten in nyc! the french onion soup is a must and when I asked for the chicken on my pasta to be blackened I was expecting an up charge and there was no up charge and refill for soda were free! I will definitely be back anytime I am in the area!
Charming establishment in the Little Italy portion of downtown Manhattan. Low light and romantic air are set by dark walls and table lamps that welcome intimate conversation and togetherness. My girlfriend and I stopped in for a glass of wine while attending the San Genero feast and we were pleasantly surprised. Our little section near the bar area was comfortable and inviting.
Great food and welcoming staff. We came in on a Saturday night and got a table for two right away. I had Sea Bass and my wife had a Strawberry Salad. My fish was done perfectly and the entire dish presented nicely. My wife's also really enjoyed her salad. They have restrooms in the basement. The space is beautiful inside. They have a very nice bar and the ceiling is made of carved wood. You can just go here to the bar area for only drinks or you can get food too.
We stopped by Onieals on our Sex and the City tour for cocktails. Great establishment...they had drinks waiting for us when we arrived. The food looked good but we only had drinks.
Came here on a Sex in The City tour while in SoHo New York! Just as cute in person as it is on the show! Our Bartender served the best Cosmos! Definitely stop by this trendy spot if you can.
Fantastic American fare restaurant in the Bowery where Little Italy meets Chinatown. Cozy and intimate inside with a small seating dining room and some less formal bar seating. Staff is informative, inquisitive, and knowledgeable. Would not suggest taking children. No accommodations available for them. This is a date night type restaurant. Even though the bill will run $35 - $50 per person for dinner and drinks the food is 5 star, the atmosphere excellent and cozy, and well worth the time spent to go.
My fav local spot in NYC. Good drinks, good food, amazing service. My timeline just showed me that it was my 111th vist there, nothing change from first time, still the best bar in the area.
Great cocktails! Happy hour is only during the week, we went on Sunday at 5:30pm and they said there's no happy hour on the weekends. Otherwise good drinks and good overall experience! Nice staff, usual price for Manhattan cocktails ($18-20), nice vibes. Espresso martinis were very good, definitely recommend the cinnamon one
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the watermelon margarita but can’t say the same for green machine. 😅 I felt like I am eating something really healthy but it wasn’t that tasty. And that’s what i was going for so, that’s good i guess.
Local craft beer and amazing burgers. Have the hand cut Parmesan fries. Also recommend the calamari. Quick great service.
Onieal’s is a great spot in the NYC to meet friends and have some drinks on Friday evenings. Inconspicuous bar with a calm and intimate atmosphere & friendly staff.
Great place! Great music, great bar,and nice food. Great selection of drinks and food. You can have a really good time in the place.
10 years and this place is still a favorite of mine. Classy but not douchy, warm and cozy, good seating for groups and good food/drinks! I love their amazing wooden ceiling and atmosphere. Plus it's got a little prohibition history with it. A mix of after work folks, and people i haven't thought to categorize, its never obnoxious and most importantly it's comfortable - I hate cramming into a drafty bar just because it's trendy. Not Onieals, this place has it all.
Awesome spot with suede couches & beautiful woodwork throughout. Came here with my family, table of 10 and the server sat is immediately. She was knowledgeable and patient and the food was awesome. Highly recommended the tacos & steak sandwich!
I love this place, every time we visit NYC we come here, this the 1st time trying food and again the service was amazing food even better, selection of tacos was amazing and the spicy fries lovely. Thomas our server was brilliant, on this experience alone we've already booked our plane for next year , see you next August.
I was about to ramble on like I was Fyador Dostoyevsky. Truth be told, Taylor was so kind to us after a long day. Had a satisfying signature chicken dish, and a few sides. Amazing cocktails. We enjoyed it so much we returned for our last evening.
One night, after a long flight from LGA, we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a place. We thought it was just a bar, but boy, were we wrong! The food was absolutely incredible. Since then, it’s become our go-to spot for a late-night bite after every trip. The burgers, steak sandwiches, and specials are all top-notch. We’ve had corn beef for St. Patrick’s Day, and it was absolutely delicious! I But what really sets this place apart is the passion and love that goes into each dish. The chef and his crew take great pride in their work, and it can be tasted in every bite. Food is delicious not only because great ingredients but also because is prepare by crew with love and passion what can be taste. Wait stuff is also so frankly and helpful and nice. Make us feel always welcome. And we not stop there fro drinks but mostly for food. If you ever find yourself in the area, definitely give Onieal’s a try. You won’t regret it! And don’t forget to give the chef a shout if you have any feedback. We’ll definitely be back after our next trip! Can’t wait to try more of their amazing food.
If you've ever seen Sex And The City you'll know this as Steve's bar SCOUT....and yes I had a Cosmopolitan. Sure why not!
Love this place! Food was solid and the staff were super attentive! This will be my go to spot from now on!
Onieal’s on Grand is officially one of my new go-to spots. Cozy, vibey lighting, super comfortable seating, and a great bar. Rosa behind the bar is warm, welcoming, full of personality, and genuinely fun to chat with. My server Winta was very sweet and attentive, and also went above and beyond. Food and drinks are on point (deviled eggs, chicken parm platter, great red wines), and they also have happy hour Mondays through Fridays, 3–7pm: $1.50 oysters, $7 pretzel bites, and solid drink specials. Easy to see how this place turns you into a regular.
My family and I had an amazing experience at Onieal’s Grand Street! We ordered the Fradiavlo, chicken wings, and a burger everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot-on, the food came out hot and fresh, and the portions were perfect. The service was excellent friendly, quick, and attentive. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal together. We also loved that they have TVs for sports, which added to the fun vibe. Overall, a fantastic spot for great food, great service, and a great time. We’ll definitely be coming back!
I loved the food and the atmosphere. Everything was delicious, and the ambiance made the experience even better. I will definitely come back and Yasin was a great ❤️
Honestly, the best service I had in a while! Bryan at the bar was the best! Drinks on point. Great Negroni around!
We were greeted when we entered. I loved how the restaurant had a speakeasy vibe. We ordered the meatballs and fries, 2 cocktails and one mocktail. The bathrooms were downstairs. I was really feeling the old days vibe and decor. Brooke was amazing. I don't eat meat so I didnt try the meatballs but my sisters said it was okay. The fries were asked to be well done and they were a little soggy but flavorful.
If you're from the UK and you see the name Onieals, you expect the worst. But this is better than any Irish bar I've been to. Decent cocktails, cute outdoor seating and a solid food menu. Pretty good for lunch or an afternoon snack.
Nice aesthetic and feel to the place. Stopped in while visiting one night for some late night food because we were starving. Took a bit to get taken care of. Server was way more interested in the big table with designer handbags, but whatever, he was still friendly. Drinks were good. I was confused on seeing a taco pizza on the menu, but we tried it anyway because we were hungry and it was actually good. So was the burger and spicy fries my friend had. We stopped in again the next day to sit for a hit and have a couple happy hour drinks. Bartender was friendly (Jonathon, I think).
Nice little spot for happy hour. Quiet at 3pm,the decor was great, looked like a classic, old type building with comfortable decor. Good selection of wine and happy hour cocktail was great. Snacks on the menu as well
Finding a traditional bar between Chinatown and Little Italy is a challenge! One with really nice wood panelling and ceilings and great decor and atmoshe re is tougher. The fact it has great food puts it over the top. I had their Cinco de Mayo chicken tacos.
In some way its a conterbalance for all Italian joins around - they offer American food, not Italian. Fantastic location, almost in the heart of Little Italy. However prices IMO are too high.
Cozy bar with a great list of cocktails, wine and beer! This is a perfect spot for drinks with friends before or after dinner. I did see some people ordering food as well!
I can strongly recommend this place! Fresh and delicious food. Staff was so sweet and smiling and super professional! Cocktails well done, little overpriced though. Nice and cosy place to sit and chill. Not very much space.
Burgers good, service excellent. The seating area is very close to the next table so with everyone talking it was very very loud. Price expensive.
Great pub to watch sports with a nice restaurant attached. So you get the benefit of sports in the pub but with great food to boot.
Only came in for drinks a few times but nice bar. The atmosphere is very laid back. Cocktail list was ok. Attentive service.
Stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident when we needed a drinks stop and to put our feet up after walking around all day. Amazing to find a place that has outdoor seating that wasn’t a rooftop bar! Only stopped for drinks so can’t comment on food, but loved to find a place in NYC that had a NZ Sauvignon Blanc on the menu!!
Came here for the happy which ends at 7pm, and ended up grabbing dinner as well. The service was okay. Our server didn’t know the happy hour cocktails, told us it was refreshing and ended up being the sweetest pomegranate cocktail. That’s fine, but then she was never around when we wanted service and forgot half our order. We had to ask for the side dish which came after everyone was done their meals.
Onieal's Grand Street has a very good atmosphere that makes for a pleasant setting. Unfortunately, the food and service were both just average and didn't live up to the vibe. The ambiance is the highlight here, but the overall experience leaves much to be desired.
We came here to end our night with a night cap and dessert. The restaurant had a beautiful intimate feel and was glowing from San Gennaro festival lights. Winter Beer ordered a club and vodka and I went the sweeter route with a dessert (unfortunately, they only had two options for dessert). When the drink arrived, it was completely wrong. They gave WB a gin and tonic. My blueberry crumble took forever to arrive and honestly, it wasn't even worth the wait. The crumble was disappointing and definitely need more crumble on top. The ice cream was filled with ice chips that you could barely taste the vanilla flavor of the ice cream. The service was non-existent. No one really check in on us after we were seated and the food service was very slow. One of the waiters had friends who came by and he spent of his time and energy taking care of them. I may come back again because I liked the relaxed vibe but, I won't go out of my way to visit again.
We arrived to the waiters which were very friendly. The food on the other hand was just shy of terrible. Cold pasta. Steak sandwich ordered as plain came with all toppings when mentioned they said it would be sorted right away waited 15 minutes and all others had finished when finally brought it away to just throw it on a fresh bit of bread not even fresh steak or even bothered to heat it up. The fries came out cold with all meals. Ordered a pint of Mondello and i seen water
