Celebrated my bday here! Had a fantastic experience, super attentive bartenders and great vibe. Cocktails were excellent. Will be back every time im in the city!
We did not eat there, but a few of us stopped in the bar in the 2nd floor around 8pm in a Friday. It was busy without being overcrowded. The bartenders were friendly and knew what they were doing.
Vibes were immaculate, drinks were fantastical, service was beyond this world. Tyler at the upstairs bar was awesome and he is also kinda cute!
A friend and I came after work to the 2nd floor bar. Good place to grab a cocktail or craft beer, in a cozy space that gets busier and noisier towards the middle of the evening. Friendly service. The other private floors mentioned on their website are probably much classier.
We walked right by the entrance. Cool space, fancy cocktails, the bar tenders are very sophisticated. It was a bit of a raucous scene the night we went, but it seems like it's usually pretty upscale, like meeting a date or a business acquaintance for an after work drink.
Unique cocktails that are amazing, a perfectly matched menu, ambiance on its own level, and staff that are professional. I'm at a loss for words. This will be time and money well spent.
Iconic location. pleasant atmosphere. delicious mixed drinks from our bartender Dante
My friend and I came here for New Year’s Eve and had an amazing time! The drinks were delicious and the hors d’oeuvre were just right and kept flowing throughout the night. The manager Ryan could not have been more cool and gracious. Lameek was especially helpful when my friend wasn’t feeling good and he truly saved our night. 10/10 would recommend based off the staff alone.
Love this place it was the first time we visited and it didn't disappoint. Shout out to Sweeney the head bartender has a great sense of humor. We have added him to our list of favorites. We would have stayed longer but we made reservations someplace else for dinner. Will definitely go back for drinks and dinner.
Super cozy and cute space with excellent cocktails and service. I didn’t eat, but several others did, and seemed to enjoy the food (the sliders looked amazing)! Loved the House of the Rising Sun cocktail.
Went on a Friday night at 9 pm with a reservation. With a reservation you are seated on the third floor which is more of a sit down restaurant vibe. Second floor was also cute just smaller. Doorman was super nice and our server was fantastic. Its hard to find great spots in this area- will definitely be returning!
Great service from Tyler at the upstairs bar! He gave great recommendations for refreshing cocktails and bites! He made drinks like a machine. Highly recommend.
Hannah was everything you want in a bartender—10/10. Great drinks, quick service, and such a fun, positive vibe. She made the night. Certified girly pop
Wonderful spot to have a first date! I don't think I would've ever come here if not for my partner, who invited me when we were getting to know each other. I remember opening the menu and asking if they knew the prices for this place, to which they responded that they did, and not to worry about the cost- just have fun. The lively music with intimate seating sure helped with loosening up that evening. You can order several things off the menu, as this is more of a "tapas-style" restaurant. Between the fresh oysters and deviled eggs, I was transported to culinary Heaven. If there's any con, it could be that the music was very loud and the seating was rather snug. If you're uncomfortable at the thought of sitting in a small space near other people with dim lighting, I'd recommend trying something else. But for me, it gave me the perfect space to get to know my partner and enjoy high-quality bites. With enough cash, I would come here again and try the bites I didn't taste the first time. Maybe as an anniversary dinner!
Excited to try this place after seeing head bartender Tim Sweeney in a couple of videos. I had the All-Perol Fitz (I think that was its name) which was a sour take on an aperol spritz and I thought it was both complex and approachable. The staff was kind and attentive. The space was intimate and gave speak easy vibes in an understated easy to miss kind of way. Great “hidden” gem!
great ambiance !!! came on a friday night and it was busy but not crowded which was super perfect for catching up. drinks slightly on the pricier side (above $20 unless you get wine)? but nothing surprising for nyc 🤣 spent over $50 for 2 drinks banana foster looked so incredible (was a bit sweet but that’s ok) crimson and clover tasted somewhat like a whiskey sour.
A wonderful bar, excellent history, superb staff, and of course, fabulous drinks. One of the better Old Fashioned's that I've had the pleasure of drinking, and the Steak Tartare and Caviar was delicious too. If you're looking for somewhere a little fancier to have a drink or two, this is highly recommended.
Outstanding service and cocktails. My server was so knowledgeable and kind and provided great recommendations. I'd also like to thank Paris for being so accommodating and helpful. Will definitely be back!
We came here on a Friday at opening time after having lunch in the area, and were able to get the first seats at the bar. The space is unique for the area, occupying a converted townhouse adjacent to Radio City/Rockefeller Center. The cocktails were all well-made, and focuses on classics or derivations of. The space was fairly full when we left around 5pm, but the entire lower bar area is reserved for walk-ins. A great option for a good cocktail in the area that is a welcome change from the tourist-focused options that appear on every block in this part of Midtown.
Pebble bar was amazing! We had the best service and the martinis were to die for. Reservations are recommended but not required. Go early if not and enjoy before the reservations. Oyster season and the oysters did not disappoint also the steak tartare came with a surprise caviar topping that was a nice surprise. Highly recommend if in midtown!
This lively cocktail bar was the perfect stop before heading to dinner in the area. We sat on the third floor bar where they had a large menu of speciality and classic cocktails. The drinks were fantastic and unique. The atmosphere was livelier than expected, in a good way. The bar is sports themed so it was fun to take in all the decor. My drink even came with a baseball card. This is not a sleepy cocktail bar, but a energetic place to go after work or before grabbing dinner.
Drinks are incredibly well mixed and the bartenders were very attentive which was very nice considering we went right after work (5 pm) on a Wednesday, so it was super busy. I first went back in June and again in November, seems they switched out some of their drinks so it keeps things different for the season. Highly recommend 👌🏻
We had a delightful time at Pebble Bar. We might have gotten lucky on our timing, we had just stopped in for a drink on our way to dinner. Fortunately there was space for us. Tiny and dim in a nice way, the atmosphere was great. Bartenders knowledgeable and nice to interact with. They checked on us and made sure we were having a good time. Our drinks were great. I had one with clarified apple, really delicious. Came with a fun baseball card on the side (although I never did understand the connection with the cocktail, it was a great little piece of ephemera for me to take home).
I had a wonderful experience here! The food tastes amazing definitely not your typical bar food. The quality is outstanding, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The bartender Hanna and Rodrigo is awesome she’s an absolute gem and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!
This amazing little bar was recommended by work friends. We were not disappointed and the wait to get in on a Wednesday evening was WORTH it! We ended up going to the second floor and had amazing service by our bartender, "T". The Negroni is on tap and one of the best versions I've tasted. Rivals ones that I had previously in northern Italy. Our appetizer was a collection of mouth watering olives. We will definitely go back on our next trip to NYC!
Fantastic bar, really cozy but casual setting which you don’t really expect from being in Rockefeller Center. Recommend the upstairs bar on 3rd floor- the 2nd floor bar was super loud. Bar menu is great- love the onion dip and the lamb sliders. But the cocktails are Ben better. The menu is full of classics and also new things I’d never tried. Love the penicillin and paper plane.
This nondescript townhouse in the middle of Rockefeller Center is a true gem. I suspect reservation’s to sit upstairs are a must but I can’t say for sure as we were someone’s guests. When you enter you are greeted by a doorman who will send you up a narrow flight of stairs. Pretty sure I saw a small elevator but check before you go. On the second floor is a open bar area seemingly standing room only. This is where the true host stand is. With a reservation we were ushered upstairs where we were seated at a small table. At 5pm on a Wednesday the room was empty, by 6:30 it was full. The menu is an array of small plates ranging from olives to a lobster roll. They offer an assortment of cocktails and mock-tails prices are typical for the area. It’s an elegant room before of after the theater or skating and certainly a place to visit if you plan to be in the area.
Pebble bar is cool. Nice vibe, waiter and waitress were awesome. Docking it one star because it is unusually expensive. For thos prices I better be getting drunk with Cousin Greg and Pete Davidson.
One big downside is that the kitchen doesn’t open until 5 but the bar opens at 4. They should have a limited menu during that hour. Olives, nuts, chips and dip- all that stuff is pre-made and easy to serve.
While Pebble Bar offers a delightful happy hour, its limited size necessitates an early arrival to secure seating, especially if you desire a table or proximity to one. The drink selection is diverse, featuring several delicate and flavorful cocktails.
Grabbed a drink here before dinner one night and enjoyed the vibe and cocktail. The bar area was dimly lit, cozy, and lively, with a decent view of the city outside the windows. I’d definitely come back.
Loved the private entrance via elevator. The place reminds me of a hideaway from the 1920's. There were plenty of sofas and a few tables and chairs, even a fireplace, for decoration only. It was a really cozy setting. The wait staff was good and attentive. The drinks were great. The bartenders were very accommodating and fixed whatever you wanted. There was a great variety of passed hors d'oeuvres. The Lobster rolls are highly recommended! They were delicious! There was even a pianist to go along with our DJ. My only issue, and it's not a reflection on the management, was that the venue might have been a little too small for us. I think the place is good for about thirty people, but our corporate office has about forty or more people, so it was a little tight; however, I do recommend this venue for small gatherings or parties.
Good but overhyped. Nicer than your typical Irish pub (no offense to my Irish friends), Cocktails were good, and nice to see Other Half on tap, but otherwise it’s still a loud and crowded (and small) bar.
Was a little nervous about entertaining someone here based on some of the negative reviews. However, I found the staff and service to very attentive and kind! We got a table on the 3rd floor for cocktails and a shrimp cocktail. The only issue i had was that they asked us to move to the bar after 1 hour and 15 minutes, saying that the next reservation was arriving. I did feel like that was a bit short. But we moved to seats at the bar and it was no problem. Overall, I would recommend, especially with the shortage of nice cocktail bars in this area of nyc.
Great bar. Obsessed with the old mirror here. It can really crowded here so plan ahead.
Our female server was so pleasant. We told her we were tight for time due to a show and she made sure we ordered the right food and drinks. Several mocktails but pricy. ($15). Hard to find since it is sort of hidden b/w high buildings. Entire staff was very friendly. Good vibe for a dark and vibrant place. Good romantic or date atmosphere
The bouncer(s) are always obnoxious here but that aside, it's a good midtown drinks spot if you come early. Drinks are great and bartenders are friendly. Key to make reservations beforehand though...especially with all the sass from the bouncers.
I'm not exactly sure how I stumbled upon this hidden gem, but Pebble Bar is a delightful and cozy establishment located near Rockefeller Center. You'll find this bar tucked away just behind the Radio City building. While the cocktail menu isn't the most extensive, everything I ordered was delicious. Even though I'm not typically a fan of whiskey, the cocktail featuring Irish whiskey and banana won me over. The prices for the cocktails themselves were reasonable, but when you add tax and tips, it can become a bit pricey.
My friends and I popped in spontaneously a few days ago. It’s super loud downstairs (standing only) so we went upstairs and seated at a table. Still loud, but not bad. Very tight between table and chairs. Good cocktail list, expensive as others have mentioned. Service was extremely slow. I think we waited for our drinks for at least 20 min. Why not have two bartenders at rush hour? Good spot for the location and I’m sure it’s packed during holiday season, that said upstairs might be a fire hazard??
We went to the third floor of this upstairs bar with views of Rockefeller Centre. It was warm and cozy on a cold night before Christmas. The cocktails were excellent. We had a wonderful corner table. We had the olives, not so good. We live in Europe so we have expectations. We would have eaten more but the menu seemed odd and eclectic. But we were thankful to have enjoyed a few cocktails here before dinner.
Pebble Bar has a beautiful space and a cool NYC vibe definitely feels like a privilege to work and visit here. When we arrived, we were greeted by a shorter Hispanic bartender who kindly handed us menus and made us feel welcome right away, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the service after that was disappointing. The bartender who made our drinks mixed them up, tasted them in front of us, and never excused himself or acknowledged the mistake. Watching that happen, especially at $22 a cocktail, made us feel overlooked and undervalued as guests. For a place with this reputation and price point, I expected more professionalism and warmth. While parts of the experience were positive, the inconsistency in service left us underwhelmed. Pebble Bar has the atmosphere I hope the attention to guests matches it moving forward.
Had a chance to find the Pop-up Pebble Bar inside the Rockefeller Rink. When I think about Rockefeller rink, it only gives me the nostalgic winter vibes during winter in NY. But we were there in summer and didn’t expect anything. Look what we found. I love the chilling vibes this place gave so much. Imagine the busy day, packed with tourists and you find this place. That was exactly my feeling. We grabbed a drink to share between 2. Bartender is so so friendly while we filmed the drink making show. We sat on the wooden staircase facing the famous Prometheus and Atlas sipping that lovely drink. And yes the price is for sure high. But it was worth for that hectic day we had.
I see some complaints about price, but we used this restaurant app that gave us $25 off (linked on my profile) so it was actually not bad for 2 cocktails each. There’s an upper floor bar that’s a proper bar, whereas the bottom floor is more like a pub for cocktails. The upper floor you really have to make a reservation for if you’re going during peak hours. We had the bottom floor, and considering the menu is the same, it’s not as good of an experience — to the extent that I’m not sure if it’s even worth going (unless you’re in the area) if you don’t get into the actual bar. I do want to return just to see if I’m left with a better impression on the upper floor.
Fine spot to grab a drink if you're a tourist. It's very cozy and in a great spot. Know that it closes at 2- we bought our drinks 10 minutes before and then were told we had to leave and ditch the drinks we just spent money on. Expensive (as expected) for not the greatest atmosphere and service.
It’s an interesting place in the middle of Rockefeller center area. The drinks and food were decent. I quite liked the deviled eggs. The banana foster drink was a little too intense for my taste but did taste like banana foster dessert. We tried the chips / dip and mushroom tartlet, the mushroom was pretty good. There was barely any lighting and it was quite loud, but other than that it’s a good bar.
A friend and I had drinks and appetizers here, first time for both of us. The hostess was lovely and our server, Jennifer, was incredible! She was funny and witty, and very savvy with her knowledge of beverages. If there are deviled eggs on the menu I must have them! These spicy little chicks did not disappoint. What did disappoint is that halfway through a round of drinks We were told that another reservation was waiting on our table and we had to leave. With no advance warning. Our drinks were quite strong and so we basically had to chug them and leave. My friend and I both hit the restroom before we left and as we were leaving we looked over and were very disappointed to see that our table table was still empty. The reservation did not indicate any type of timeframe.
I was very excited to try Pebble Bar after seeing it on many lists of the best cocktail bar in NYC. Unfortunately, I left confused as to why it made these lists. First, the service was inattentive and unfriendly. With better service, I might have stayed longer and had a other drink, but the bartender couldn't be bothered. As the place started to fill up, the crowd was...there is no nice way to say this...very uncool. Everyone was either a banker bro or a tourist. This is not the fault of the establishment, but does contribute significantly to the ambience, so I'm including it in my review. My drink was quite good, a riff on a Manhattan, but not good enough to make up for what this place lacks. Sadly, I won't be coming back to Pebble Bar.
Great space and ambiance. Music is excellent as well, and this place really is a breath of fresh air for the area, but unfortunately several of the staff behind the bar are extremely cold, unreceptive, and inattentive. In fact, they were more concerned about telling people that last call would be in an hour, and they would even roll their eyes or show visible annoyance as people continued to order drinks despite it not even being last call time. Also , unsure why last call was 45 minutes before the closing time, especially in a bar that was relatively full. Additionally, asking a question about a cocktail or a liquor (something that is common at the best cocktail bars) was tough as the staff genuinely seemed to have a lack of experience/knowledge about the art of cocktails. This place has all the components of being a real gem in the midtown area, but it lacks the talent and hospitality that makes a cocktail bar stand out. It’s a good cocktail bar with decent drinks, but until it has friendly, receptive , and knowledgeable bartenders it will only be a good cocktail bar and not a great one. Music slaps though.
Some coworkers recommended an amazing hidden bar, and it truly surpassed all expectations! Even on a Wednesday night, the wait to get in was completely worth it. We headed upstairs to the second floor, where our bartender, "T", provided outstanding service. The Negroni on tap was easily one of the best I've ever had—on par with those I've tasted in northern Italy. We began with a plate of delicious olives that left us wanting more. There's no question we'll be back the next time we're in NYC!
Checked this place out due to the great YouTube video with Tim Sweeney. Only 2 floors currently, and quite small on each. Service was decent and got 1 margarita (which was good but no salted rim) that cost $22 with service. Overall was missing that feeling of actually being in a bar (head Bartender Tim Sweeney apparently doesn't go unless private event etc.). I got the sense I was being given pre-made cocktails and just getting the autopilot experience. Nice-ish but would not go back, as it lacked that buzz behind the bar.
The Last Waltz drink had a nice spice to it and a big ice cube. Drinks were pricey ($21), but that doesn’t surprise me based on the area this bar is in. The bar itself had a really cool atmosphere with low lighting, marble tables, and black and white pictures of NYC on the walls.
I guess I should have known from the area this bar is in, but it draws a big after work crowd. And not the chill work crowd. The work crowd dressed in suits and looking vaguely finance-y and way too wealthy for their age. The drinks are very, very good. The service is just okay. And the atmosphere...listen, sometimes you just wanna go to a bar and read a book and drink something delicious and boozy and also maybe get a side of fries. This isn't the place for that. This place might impress your out of town friends. For two seconds before you realize it's standing room only. I didn't even want to try the food because I didn't feel like being crammed into the corner for another hour. The drinks are well made and are easily the best thing about this place. Everything else, take your own set of work friends and go somewhere more chill.
It's an okay bar near Rockefeller center. Quite small, but it's alright. What's not fine is how much i spent for 2 glasses of vodka soda. $44!! No paper bill, its on the cc machine. It was dark, late night, i didnt really pay attention to the details at the bottom, -which was in tiny font- if service aka tipa was included or not. Once i selected OK, it asked for tips. My total became $49 for 2 glasses of vodka soda! That's high even for Manhattan price!!! If tips is automatically included, they should make the font bigger or not asking for tips again. No, not recommending this place.
I only had a drink at the downstairs bar, so I did not get the full, restaurant/reservation area experience. It was fine. I would go back if I was in the area. I liked my drink and the decor but it was not amazing. It was a Tuesday night in Midtown, so maybe that is why it was a mit meh.
High-quality cocktails with interesting flavors, but a bit overpriced. We didn't know that we couldn't even get a proper table for five with reservation which felt disappointing. At $22–24 per drink, you could find similar quality high-end bar elsewhere with much better environment and service. Overall, decent drinks, but if you only go to their second floor for drinks, it's not a good experience.
No, just no. Not for semi-large (3+) groups and definitely not for those who lack a fondness for fighting through crowds around Rockefeller/5th Ave. The music choices were weird (it would switch from rap to Christmas music from one minute to the next) and the ambiance was subpar. The crowd was half tourists and half midtown goons lost on their way home from the office. All around, very average and felt like a largely failed attempt at being a “cool” midtown bar.
came here last night with some friends. we had a rez and sat on the top floor: don’t get me wrong - i know this is a cocktail place - but i wanted some wine. their selection is honestly terrible. pinot grigio and sancerre both tasting like dirty water. they were out of a spanish white that was also offered by the glass. decided to go for their special martini. $24. it was really disappointing. it’s made with some orange whatever — flavours did not go and i was wishing i just had a regular martini. the drinks of my fellow diners did not impress either. all somewhat disappointing, especially for the crazy inflated price. no one wants to pay $30 for a bad margarita (after tax and tip.) even the scene was not that exciting. the bar emptied out around 9:30pm. they weren’t playing much music so it was a bit awkward when it would get quiet at times. and the decor leaves something to be asked for… it feels a bit like a greenwich village barbershop. onto the next one…
Really poor experience here. I asked for a simple classic cocktail, and it’s clear the bartenders didn’t know how to make it. Ended up being extremely unbalanced and unpleasant. Went to the bar to ask for an adjustment and—despite it not being busy—was looked off by the staff. It’s a beautiful space in a handy location, sad that they didn’t take better care of us, particularly at that price point.
I've now been to Pebble Bar twice, and despite desperately wanting to like it have come away extremely disappointed both times. It all comes down to the service, which unfortunately at Pebble Bar has consistently been slow, disinterested, and unfriendly. I was there yesterday evening. Walked to the bar to order a drink for my fiancé and I while she held a table. The bartender directly in front of me, not doing anything at the time, made sure to finish her conversation with the fellow bartender before even acknowledging me (no big deal but not a great start to experience either - I waited to have my order taken for a solid 90 seconds or so). After I ordered two cocktails, she was then pretty slow to actually start making them (really showed zero urgency at all...), but again, I'll give her a pass there - not the end of the world. I walked back to the table my fiancé was waiting by because I could tell it would be a sec for the drinks, and while there observed someone else that I suppose the bartender knew walk to the bar and order three drinks. The bartender stopped making our cocktails literally pre-mixing (and let the drinks sit idle in the ice in the shakers and get watered down...) while she prepared three drinks for the new customer, doing so right in my face with no apology, explanation or acknowledgement of the situation whatsoever, given that I had now walked back to the bar to wait for my cocktails. She almost seemed to be waiting for me to say something so that she could retort - it was very bizarre and standoff-ish. Without exaggeration I probably waited for close to 10 minutes for my drinks. Received a pretty stiff attitude while paying my bill as well (safe to say I closed out after the one round). In all fairness though, one of the cocktails was excellent - the other just okay, but definitely not terrible. I'll spare you the details, but I had similarly disappointing and disinterested/unfriendly service during my first visit here. If I'm paying $20-ish a cocktail and the staff can't even be bothered to conduct themselves with a bit of hospitality, I have no interest in giving that establishment my business. My theory is that given the Roc Center location, they are so reliant on tourists and office workers passing through that they don't really care about being friendly to attract folks to become regulars patrons, and it shows. Really wish I could like this place, but it is officially on my s##t-list. First negative Google Review I've ever written!
We were having drinks and the bartenders got rude demanding extra tips with an awful service
Drinks were good, waitstaff very kind. food portions are super small. $26 for four shrimps. My main issue, the top floor bar is very uncomfortable. It is very small, and if you are seated at one of the middle tables you can only hear everyone else talk. It’s really loud, like really really loud. I left after 20 minutes and a $100 tab. On a side note, I was one of only 3 guys in the top floor. The place was full.
Here’s the deal. Cool Decor. The drinks are batch made and still $20 a pop. Barkeeps are kinda entitled to give off a cool vibe for the midtown crowd. Don’t really need to go back. Overall it felt very mid for what I paid and experienced. A batched Vesper martini ! Drinks aren’t served on a cocktail napkin, and had to ask for water. Music ebbs and flows between nice hip-hop and elevator classics. A skip.
Drinks in NYC are always expensive it’s a given and I never mind paying for a well made cocktail. But $20 plus an extra $4 just bc it’s a martini is wild. Again would not mind if it was well made but both of us left them behind as they were hard to struggle through. And this was just a basic dirty martini. We tried to order food before a show but waitress took 20 mins to come back around so we only had time for charcuterie and it was also sub par and ridiculously overpriced for one meat and one cheese. Really cute vibe and could be a hidden gem in rock center but this really missed the mark for us.
We booked a table for date night and was excited to try this place but the experience was not what I had hoped for. When I checked in the hostess walked us over to bar seating. I let her know we booked a table and asked to be sat at a table, not the bar. She insisted we booked bar seating and it wasn’t possible to switch to a table which was very frustrating because my confirmation clearly said we booked the table. So we were left at bar seating or nothing. The kicker is it’s a $25 per person cancellation fee so if we turned down bar seating and left we would be out $50. Since $50 is about the price of two drinks we figured we would stay for at least a round of drinks because we would be out $50 if we left anyways. The bartender was a super nice guy who made some decent drinks so I threw in an extra star for him.
Booked reservation online. No mention of time limit. Got there, sat down, thought our waitress Jennifer was really pleasant and friendly. We ordered bread & butter, got three large warm slices and a nice tasty hunk of butter. We also ordered the deviled eggs and the prosciutto tarte flambé. Everything comes in three, a little awkward considering more often than not people go in pairs, but they offered to add one extra egg for a premium. The eggs were supposed to have candied chicken brittle, but I couldn’t taste it. In my opinion, there was just too much going on with those eggs and you couldn’t really pull any particular flavor out of the mess other than deviled eggs, and something spicy on top, although I have to admit, the presentation was lovely. Drinks were well-made. The tart, however, wasn’t warm enough when it came out, and it seemed way too greasy and fatty to be anything other than difficult to eat. The worst part, after ordering a second round, just a few minutes later, the waitress comes out and tells us that the table is reserved for the next party and they’ve been waiting for five minutes. This was extremely unprofessional in my opinion seeing as how I was expected to pay an extra $21 for a drink that I was now going to have to chug. Unacceptable. When you seat a party at a table, you immediately let them know of any time restrictions, additionally, before they order their next drink, you let them know they are expected to leave in a certain timeframe. This information was not conveyed in a timely nor professional fashion and I truly feel like I was scammed into spending more money without being able to enjoy. Not sure I’ll be going back anytime soon, not really recommending it to anyone, unless you’re just going for a quick drink at the bar. It was also super loud in there - we were screaming the whole time.
Initially enjoyed the place as I walked in, bartenders were kind enough and the manager Pablo is an absolute sweetheart! However once we were seated our server, Menachem I believe his last name was, was extremely rude. Inattentive, combative, cold and just really truly awful. I was at a table of six and we all felt the same way about him. There was another female server whose name I didn’t catch that was very kind though. Food is good, seafood tower was okay, extremely expensive for what you get, this applies to all dishes especially the lobster roll. Overall would not recommend, nice ambiance, decent but overpriced drinks, same with the food. Once again though Pablo was terrific so if you run into him, just know he’s a sweetheart. Avoid Menachem at all costs, he is the bald gentleman. Will not be revisiting unfortunately!
This is NOT a craft cocktail bar like its clever social media marketing would have one believe. The unenthusiastic, sloppy bartenders are clueless as to how to make any classic cocktails that's not on their menu and had to conference with each other and google. Basic cocktails are $20, and if one wants top shelf it's $4 extra. A $24 grey goose "martini" was made with no vermouth. Punishingly loud. Mostly interns from surrounding offices and more bizarrely, people on first or second dates. A bouncer guards the entrance. Same scene can be enjoyed much more cheaply a few blocks west, great cocktails can be had much more cheaply a few blocks north.
Very rude doorman. My friend and I went to get drinks. When we told the doorman we didn’t have a reservation, and wanted to go to the bar, he stared at us very rudely and then said “enjoy your evening” in a very sarcastic tone, giving us the impression we were not welcome there. After going to the bar, we got a place to stand, and waited in line for 30 mins to get a drink, after which we decided to leave. When we were stepping down, the doorman said “thanks for spending SO MUCH time with us” again in a sarcastic tone. I carry the feeling that the doorman is actually encouraged to screen homogenous crowd and the bar does not believe in being inclusive. Would not recommend any open minded people to visit, coz you will be disappointed.
Staff was disrespectful to my friend. There’s no need for that and I can take my business elsewhere.
Do not go here, my cousin and I came to just grab a drink and had a horrible experience. We were not greeted, asked if we had a reservation and when I said come again due to the emptiness of the place the people sitting at the bar said "they don't speak English, they probably speak Spanish".. Immediately we left as the people this bar attracts is obviously not people one desires to be around. But what really got to me was the person on staff laughed and proceeded to ignore us instead of correcting the customer in a positive way that promoted inclusivity. I WISH I spoke Spanish (I speak 2 other languages but Spanish isn't one), also I'm black and white so they just made all sorts of assumptions.
We had heard about Pebble bar from various recommendation lists for NY. However, my friend and I had a horrible experience. We did walk in without a reservation ready to grab a drink at the bar. However, the door man was extremely rude with us, and acted as if we needed his permission to get in when we said we didn't have a reservation. Once we were in, the service was abysmal. The bartenders seemed uninterested in serving us and after waiting for a good 30 minutes we decided to leave. While leaving we were met with continued rudeness from the doorman who seemed to want to rub it in our faces that we didn't get any service. This establishment should be ashamed of themselves. Such non-inclusive behaviour is intolerable. Never going back here and recommend all social media influencers to stop recommending this location.
extremely rude bartender acted like he was completely weeded when we were the only guests at the bar. snapped at us when we even mentioned food (privately)! mediocre, overly complicated drinks. 18% autograt on every check and for why????
The hostess were so rude. Acted as if I was scum because I walked in and didn't buy a drink. Im not from this city and felt how rude just due to a simple misunderstanding. Looks like a cool place but im so disinterested due to the experience with the hostess.
