Came here for lunch twice this week while working nearby. Weekdays around lunchtime (noon to 4) they have a special that's a quarter rotisserie chicken with side and a drink for $15. A great bargain for delicious food! 2nd day was a Saturday, still spent around $30 per person which was reasonable for the portion sizes and how delicious the food was. Service was fast and courteous, everyone was nice. Manager checked in on how we were enjoying our meal. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!
Love Peruvian food, and Pio Pio 8 does it right. The portions are big, so I might order less next time, but I loved Juanita's signature 1/2 chicken, yucca maduras, and rice and red beans. So fun to share the sides with the table! Love the atmosphere, too. Bigger than I thought it would be. And all those branches on the walls and ceiling!
I love pio pio so much. Especially this location, the decore the kind of unground restaurant area. The food is always soooo good, the calamari is fresh and delicious, the chicken marinated and cooked to perfection. If I lived closer I would be here all the time. Great portion sizes as well so if you want to do a family meal and share it they do that too
The experience at PioPio was immaculate. The customer service was top tier. While walking to my table, there were men standing up looking around waiting to help anyone and everyone who needed assistance. The friendliness of this place is top tier. The food is to die for. Flavorful beyond and was cooked in such a great time as it was only about 15 minutes until we got our meal. I would recommend anyone in NY or that is visiting, to come on by; your tummies are waiting to be satisfied ☺️
Let me tell you something, there is not a better Peruvian Restaurant in New York than Pio Pio, They’ve got multiple locations, but my favorite is the one with the City Vibes. We ordered different options you’ll see it all in my pics, food is so good and the homemade green and garlic sauce are fire 🔥 I always order the red wine sangria, we got the pitcher (3 glasses each). I believe the Chaufa rice and the small Jalea are perfect for two people and I still ended up with a bunch of leftovers to take home. Portions are super generous! The service? Super nice. They were on top of everything, and the food came out fast and fresh. Thanks for watch my review and please don’t forget to follow my page for more!

So so good. Quaint little spot in HK, nice waitstaff and the food was amazing! The calamari was a bit rubbery but still good, calamari is like that sometimes anywhere you go.
Food was delicious and service was great! Would love to go again! Had a lot of good authentic Peruvian food that was good portions too (even homemade hot sauce)!

I love Peruvian good and this restaurant did NOT disappoint! I’ll come back again and again!! I had the Camarones with Amarillo sauce and my date had Lomi Saltado. Both were fantastic!
We love peruvian food and this did not disappoint! We got the Matador to share & just made a dent. It was enough for four people.
Hearty portions and a large and nice restaurant makes for a really solid dining experience in the area. The two of us shared the chicken empanadas, half a rotisserie chicken and the arroz chaufa with shrimp. By the way, let me get out of the way that the green sauce is so delectable that I could have eaten it by the spoonful. The empanadas were ok. I've had much better in NYC and I would probably pass on these next time. The chicken was DELICIOUS. They are rightly known for this and I think it's a must get. The arroz chaufa was solid - flavorful and plentiful. It came in what felt like a bucket and is clearly a sharing portion. We also had chicha moradas. I love chicha morada and have had it in several restaurants in NYC. This version is a little watered down, but still good. Service was fine - efficient, but not very friendly. Nothing negative, just not anything special.
Really hyped, and with a lot of reviews, the expectations were high. What was good? When for starters the chicken was indeed quite good. But in the context of other Peruvian chicken I’ve had in the past, it was not extraordinary. Yes the skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. The arroz chaufa hit all the savory notes that I was looking for too. The sangria didn’t disappoint either. What was bad? Overall, not too much other than the sporadic and slightly chaotic service. Not necessarily any marks against Pio Pio for this, I think it was just a busy night. The main issue I had was the frozen chicken used in the arroz chaufa. In a restaurant that is known for its chicken, you wouldn’t think they would cheap out on it at any point. But, this was simply not the case. It was dry, chewy, and clearly not as fresh as their rotisserie chicken. It didn’t scare me off entirely from going back, but I was disappointed to say the least. Most people have extremely low bars for chicken as a meat they would spend money on at a restaurant. Don’t give people a reason to complain I just don’t get it. Looking back on it, I would have said something or sent the dish back, not because I’m an asshole, but because I know they can do better.
With numerous other locations and named of sound chicks make, this chain serves rotisserie chicken and other Peruvian dishes. The meal was very carb heavy, and a bit muted flavors other than desserts. Was not a big fan of the sausage and fries, the chicken was a bit dry but tasty. This location is beautifully decorated and architecturally designed with the double height dining room, though our large party remained on the ground floor near the entrance.

The food was excellent. The atmosphere was interesting and not what I was expecting. Very austere-style of decor.\n\nThe prices were quite high...but it was Manhattan after all.

This place stands out from competitors. The workers always have a positive attitude. Their prices beat other restaurants consistently. The flavors are memorable. I'll certainly return to this spot.

I went on a date here with someone from Peru. We both ordered the arroz chaufa. The chicken and rice were extremely dry and bland. We both agreed we could’ve had better tasting food at Panda Express for half the money. However, I will admit the drinks they offer are fantastic. We won’t be back.
Hands down the toughest review I’ve had to write. Pio Pio has been my go-to for years, but during a recent order I found a bug in my rice. After calling and explaining the situation to the staff, they refused to provide a refund, and I was offered replacement food. After spending over 15 minutes on the phone discussing the issue, this response was disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to decide not to return.
