I stumbled in randomly for a drink and ended up getting two made by both bartenders at the same time! Haha Perfect place to come after work for a solo drink. The music made me feel like I was in the roaring 1900s (whatever that means). 🤣

Cute little cocktail lounge with bar around and spare sit down room. Very cute aesthetic and great place to grab a cocktail with small group or for date night. Enjoyed a leeched and earl great martini. Location is small but service and cocktails were great- really recommend!

Love this place. I am here for work and just wanted to have a chill night. It is Monday at 9:20 PM and they have live music! The ambiance is amazing, and the bartender Nathaniel makes some fantastic drinks! He checked on me multiple times to ensure I was good and liked the drink. The espresso martini is to die for! I can tell they use real espresso and not just liqueur. If I were local this would be my go-to place, but for now it is where I will be coming to when I’m in town and I’ll be sure to recommend it to my colleagues who travel up here and the ones who live in the area. Love it.

this place has been a staple for me since moving to the UWS. all of the staff are amazing and makes everyone feel like family. dylan especially! he is always experimenting with new drinks and is amazing at suggestions based on what you normally drink. this little local spot has really made moving here such an enjoyable experience and become a part of my routine.

Service was amazing, atmosphere phenomenal. I’m visiting from Australia and as a sopranos fan i had to check out Michael’s Bar. i was not disappointed. my bartender Walker was great, he went above and beyond to make sure i got the drinks i wanted, even popping next door to grab some things that the bar didn’t stock. Highly recommend!

This is a great place, we went two nights in a row. We accidentally spilled one cocktail and got a free replacement. Service is great and cocktails are superb (according to my wife, I personally think mixing good alcohol is a sin so I’ve enjoyed the beers they offer).

Nice cocktail bar. Many cocktail options. Customize service and very attentive. Art-deco inspired, Opulent interior, lots of red giving a theatrical vibe. It has a piano, live music sometimes. It also offer a back room more intimate- so I’d say they have 3 different sitting areas.

Really nice cocktail bar. They've got a great menu with a wonderful mix of modern, exciting cocktails and a whole host of iconic classics. I went for a Manhatten (as it was my first time in Manhatten), a Sidecar, and a classic martini. Each arrived promptly and was beautifully made and garnished. The martini particularly had been made to my exact specifications, which I always really enjoy.

The best dirty olive martini I’ve ever had in my life. Our bartender, Keith asked me how dirty I wanted it and made it absolutely perfectly. He and the hostess were super attentive. Second drink pictured is the bird of paradise which is another popular drink of theirs. Cocktails all start at around $20 so it’s fairly consistent pricing for each round. A good place to go with friends and a sexy place to go on a date. I had been before and their espresso martini is also top notch. But now this will definitely be my go to olive martini spot!

A Hidden Gem with Unmatched Vibes Loved this spot! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the tone. It’s got that cozy-but-cool vibe that makes you want to stay for "just one more" (and then... it’s 3 drinks later 😅). The cocktail menu is top-tier — creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. This bar is so cozy and the interior is beautiful and romantic. The cocktails are delicious and they also have a nice variety of non alcoholic wine and beers too which was a pleasant surprise and the staff are genuinely kind. This makes a perfect spot for a date night!

Wonderful speakeasy type bar on UWS co owned by Soprano star Michael Imperioli. Superior cocktails and great food next door at Fred’s. Samantha our server is outstanding and friendly. She overheard us trying to locate an open store for mayo at midnight for our leftover turkey sandwiches and researched it on her own and came back with an answer! Amazing and lovely. I will go back just to watch her work as she is magical to watch and in the words of Jerry Seinfeld “SO GOOD LOOKING!!”

This place is so welcoming, and so cool. Ambiance is amazing. A beautiful, intimate scarlet room, not crowded, where you sit on comfortable couches with your friends and have a drink or two,, and eat if you want (all good), and just hang, talk and laugh. Service is amazing, they're all so pleasant and charming. I'm going back very soon. Like...this weekend.

I love this fabulous establishment! In my Law and Business Consulting career (and being a huge "foodie") I often entertain clients from all over with having a nice cocktail and delectable meals. I found Scarlet on the Upper West Side which is a chic and welcoming neighborhood-83rd and Amsterdam. The ambiance and decor are warm, modern with an almost sultry feel donning gorgeous red banquets and slightly dim lighting, beautiful curtains when you enter that lead to a more private area which is excellent for a group gathering or just a couple on a date. The unique cocktails are well concocted with ingredients such as matcha or lavender or lychee among other unique ingredients. The food is to die for. I personally love the lamb lollipops, tuna tartare, cauliflower dish (served with a unique sauce... yummy!) the fries, crab cakes.... The beer and wine list is quite fine as well. I am a big stickler for good service especially when bringing out clients, and you are always greeted by a friendly host/manager/server such as a young lady from yesterday, Jenna and the amazing manager Tracey. Dylan was a pleasant and proficient young gentleman who was behind the bar and tensed to me and a really intense fellow lawyer colleague recently. I always ask names so I can address them properly 🙂. The owner Jeremy is kind and accommodating and apparently a huge Saint in the general community. I have been a few times and everyone concurs that it is THE place to go. Scarlet is perfect for a first date, a ten year anniversary, a business meeting, a Tuesday night cocktail or a lovely fun Saturday night out with friends and anything in between.

I haven't had an experience this incredible at a cocktail bar in a long time. The spot is tiny and intimate, but the bartenders and servers got everyone situated in a tight space quickly and seamlessly. They provided recommendations that really landed, and were the perfect level of attentive and—get this—kind!! (As a former server years ago, I believe hospitality fundamentally should be friendly and warm, not scene-y and cold ... and this place was the definition of inviting). Kudos to the staff, who made the night truly five stars ... plus, the delicious cocktails and cozy yet sophisticated ambiance didn't hurt either. My advice: Make this your next trip. I definitely want to swing by again next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Still looking for good cocktails in the UWS.

Espresso Martini - 2.5/5 Beautiful presentation. Fresh espresso was not available so flavor was off. Too sweet and syrupy and not enough espresso flavor. Foam was just OK. I would not order this Espresso Martini again. 3 beans. 2.5/5

Sat there for a half hour waiting for a drink. Never arrived. I left. Overpriced drinks with shit service. Plenty of other places nearby with equal quality drinks. Don’t waste your time or your money.
