Spot is my favorite dessert place! They consistently serve delicious desserts, and the variety is impressive. Everything I’ve tried has been great so far. The items that come with the ice cream are especially good — the combinations are always creative and flavorful. Every time I visit, choosing what to order is part of the fun because there are so many tempting options. The coffee drinks are excellent as well and pair perfectly with the desserts. It’s also a great spot for a weekend evening date. Highly recommended.
I wasn’t sure what to expect at Spot Dessert Bar East Village, but it turned into one of my favorite dessert stops. I tried a few of their signature items like the Matcha Lava Cake, Mango Sticky Rice Crepe, and a Thai Tea Boba Float, and everything was fun and delicious. The Matcha Lava Cake was warm with a gooey green tea center that wasn’t too sweet, and the flavors really popped. The Mango Sticky Rice Crepe had fresh mango with creamy coconut and soft sticky rice wrapped neatly inside, which felt unique and comforting at the same time. The Thai Tea Boba Float was refreshing and creamy with chewy boba that made it feel like dessert and drink combined. The vibe inside was colorful and lively with upbeat music, which made it feel more exciting than a typical dessert shop. The staff were friendly and helped explain the menu when I was deciding what to order. Portions were generous enough to share, and I left feeling satisfied and already thinking about what to try next time. The place also felt clean and well maintained even when a few people were waiting. It is one of those dessert spots that makes you want to come back just to try another item on the menu.
Really small spot so had a hard time getting a seat, might have just been there during the Friday Night Rush...however the selection was great for desert. Nice size plates and they had a few others that I liked to try but only had room for these 2. Will definitely go back on more of a relaxed time frame so I can spend more time trying the other selections. Also they had good coffee and drinks to go with the sweets.
Interesting and creative desserts with fantastic decorations that are almost too pretty to eat. Every item we tried tasted great, not just sweet but well balanced and thoughtfully made. You can really tell they put effort into both presentation and flavor. It’s a fun spot to visit, perfect for hanging out with friends or ending a meal on a high note. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy unique desserts.
This place truly stands out with its creative designs, stunning presentations, and absolutely delicious flavors. We loved everything we tried and highly recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth!
My friend and I decided to taste some Dessert at Spot Dessert in East Village. We Went with “Harvest” and absolutely loved it. The cheesecake is delicious. We also ordered Matcha Lava Cookie and some Cruffins which we enjoyed as well. Definitely visiting again to try their other best sellers.
the golden toast, cookie pan, and espresso were all so decadent and delicious. we were able to walk in and wait to be seated for about 10-15 minutes.
Fall/winter combo of 3 desserts for $38 was a decent deal, basically half off the 3rd dessert and a nice, balanced spread. Chrysanthemum snow was probably the healthiest dessert I've ever had; super refreshing, still tasty, and well-made. 8/10. Ube-rri was a tad too sweet and honestly not too remarkable, the mousse and panna cotta was kind of mid and the ube tasted a little artificial. 5/10. The sesame bloom was a nice combo of cheesecake, ice cream, berries, and other yummy items. Very rich and layered flavor. 9/10. Love how unique each dessert is, will definitely need to try their classics next time I go back.
This place is incredible! They’re highly efficient without ever compromising on service or quality. When we first arrived, there was an understandable one-hour wait, but they kept us updated via text and notified us as soon as our table was ready. The menu included pictures of every item, which made ordering easy and convenient! We chose the Milky Puff and Sesame Bloom, and both were outstanding with truly unique flavors. If you’re not into overly sweet desserts but still want something indulgent, the Sesame Bloom is perfect for you. If you prefer something fun and nostalgic, try the Milky Puff — it’s like enjoying cereal and ice cream together, but in the best possible way lol!
This place has absolutely unique desserts — we’ve never tried anything like this before! We ordered two different desserts, and both were very unusual in flavor and presentation, yet incredibly delicious. The place is literally packed with people, the foot traffic is very high. And it’s obvious why — quality and creativity like this are rare. A great spot for anyone with a sweet tooth or those who enjoy trying something new. Definitely recommend!
My friend recommended this place because he noticed I needed a bit of stress eating and I’m so glad he did! He suggested I try the Matcha Lava Cake, and it was absolutely amazing. I also ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte, which quickly became my new favorite. I didn’t expect the combination of strawberry and matcha to taste so good it’s sweet, smooth, and surprisingly relaxing. The cozy atmosphere and beautiful plating made the experience even better. I highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants to unwind, enjoy some stress-relieving desserts, and treat themselves to something truly delicious!
Back to Spot Dessert Bar and I had a much better experience this time — I tried the most elegant black sesame dessert, alongside asian desserts that are both nutritious and delicious. This seasonal menu highlights asian winter ingredients known for their natural benefits, turning comfort food into something nourishing. I didn’t even feel sweetened out after trying them all. I also tried a Halloween Special which I hoped they could consider keeping it in the regular menu!! *Sesame Bloom $14.95 ** The presentation was so elegant that I could easily picture it served at a fine dining restaurant. This black sesame basque cheesecake came with condensed milk ice cream, berry compote and vanilla anglaise. Its deep black hue proved how rich and nutty it was. This was easily our favorite out of the three! *Chrysanthemum Snow $14.95 It’s rare to see a modern dessert with goji berries and snow mushrooms! The chrysanthemum frozen base was topped with snow mushroom, goji berries, golden pear, and yuzu honey jam. Light, floral, and full of nourishing ingredients. Definitely guilt-free and delicious. *Ube-rri $14.95 An ube mousse cake layered with chia panna cotta, blueberry compote, chiffon, and topped with a white chocolate shell. The tangy compote balanced out the creamy ube mousse. *** We got all three of these fall/winter specials for $38.15 (original $44.85). *Halloween Spooky Monkey Bread Made with warm coconut monkey bread, coconut ice cream and coconut flakes and drizzled with ube sauce. I was absolutely in love with the hot and cold contrast!!
I WILL be coming back for the Golden Toast and Harvest dessert! I took a bite of both and went straight to heaven—I'm literally obsessed with them. I wasn't expecting the butter on the Golden Toast to be a brown butter, but I absolutely love it! The milk tea for the Harvest dessert added the perfect touch of flavor, giving the layers underneath more depth. I did have to wait in a line to be seated but it was honestly worth the wait!
A dessert lover’s paradise! The collection of desserts is incredible, and everything tastes as good as it looks. It’s the perfect place to fix your sweet tooth cravings. Just a heads-up—weekends can get crowded and the space is limited, so be prepared to wait. Still, the flavors make it worth every minute!
Gorgeous desserts and fun seasonal changes to the menu! I’ve been here at least 7-8 times over the past two years. I have brought family and friends, and they have always had raving reviews! My favorite is the Classic Matcha Lava Cake. A great chocolate dessert with a twist. If you don’t enjoy matcha, I would recommend getting some of their desserts with berry or alternate flavored ice cream. Before Spot, I’ve never experience a “dessert restaurant”, but now it always is a place I can go to give someone a good dessert experience.
This spot has been one of my go-to dessert places in East Village for years — and I’m genuinely happy to say it hasn’t changed a bit (in the best way). First time I went was probably 3 or 4 years ago, and since then I’ve been back at least 10 times — with friends, coworkers, after work, on weekends, you name it. Their menu? Super limited. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. Every single item they do offer is just perfection — no misses, all hits. Last time we went, we ordered their dessert set — which came with: • 🍵 Matcha lava cake (my forever favorite) • 🍞 Sweet bread (so soft and warm omg) • …and one more dessert I can’t remember by name but it’s in the photos lol Drinks were fun too — I got a Thai tea with something extra, and my friend tried some kind of cold brew with a twist. Now for the catch: this place is popular. If you’re planning to go around 8–10pm, expect a wait. They don’t take reservations, and most nights you’ll need to leave your number and wait 20–30 minutes (sometimes more). There’s not much of a waiting area either, so you’ll likely end up walking around the block or awkwardly hanging out nearby until they text you. BUT — once you’re in, it’s so worth it. The team is young, friendly, super welcoming, and always happy to make recommendations. Service is fast (they probably know there’s a line waiting lol), and the whole experience feels cozy and satisfying. 💰 Price-wise: Pretty reasonable, especially for the quality. The dessert set of 3 was ~$35 and shared between four people — and it felt like just enough. Drinks lean on the pricier side, but nothing too wild. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, warm, and comforting after a long day — this is it. Calories? Yes. Regrets? Never. Already planning my next visit.
Very good dessert spot! I ordered the Golden Toast, Sweet Beani, Hey Jasmine, Peachy Summer, and the Cookie Camp. Each item had such strong, unique flavors that truly matched their descriptions. The service was great, and the vibe was fun, modern, and comforting. I highly recommend it!
Went on Saturday afternoon. It was pretty full but we could find two tables without waiting. The desserts are shareable. I liked the chocolate lava cake with ice cream but wish the matcha was less separate. The ub-berry is our favorite. The harvest and chocolate lava cake are tied. The butter toast with ice cream is our least favorite. This spot has good matcha.
I think this place is a bit overrated. It gets busy quick and the desserts are okay. Out of all of them the matcha lava was by farrr my favorite. Very rich and the perfect amount of matcha. The harvest was not that great in my opinion and the golden toast was a little dry for my taste. Maybe I would come back for the other items but its a bit pricey.
We stopped by this place after dinner on a weekday night. We joined the waitlist before walking over, about a 10-minute wait, which timed out perfectly as the table was ready when we arrived. We ordered the Black Sesame Basque Cheesecake and the Matcha Lava Cake. Black Sesame Basque Cheesecake: Looked great, but the taste didn’t match the presentation. The texture wasn’t what you’d expect from a cheesecake and felt a bit dry. Matcha Lava Cake: The lava cake was soft and gooey, and the matcha ice cream had just the right level of sweetness. Definitely recommend ordering this. Overall, a mixed experience, but the matcha lava cake is a must try if you are visiting here.
I am. Sorry. For this 3 star review. Because the staff were so nice and so chill and actually super funny. We were throwing some weird questions at them and they indeed played ball. Thanks guys. Anyway. The food is just super mid. So so mid. The matcha lava cake is good. The cheesecake in a dirt pot is good. Everything else tasted like literally nothing and cost a months rent. I’m so sorry. It also always has a wait but you can join the guest list from afar (online) which is nice.
Great late night dessert location if you’re into Spot Dessert Bar (NYC) is a dessert café known for its Asian-inspired desserts with a modern twist. The founder, Chef Ian Kittichai from Thailand, brings unique flavors and presentation styles that blend Eastern and Western influences. Some of the signature types of food you’ll find there: • 🍰 Plated Signature Desserts (their specialty) • The Harvest: A plant pot-looking dessert with layers of berries, cheesecake, and oreo crumble. • Golden Toast: Crispy honey buttered toast served with strawberries, whipped cream, and condensed milk ice cream. • Matcha Lava Cake: Warm matcha chocolate cake with green tea ganache and ice cream. • Milky Puff: Cream puff pastry with Thai tea ice cream and brûléed bananas. • 🍦 Ice Cream & Sorbets with Asian flavors like Thai tea, black sesame, and green tea. • 🍵 Drinks such as bubble teas, Thai iced tea, and coffee-based specialties. So in short: Spot Dessert Bar serves creative, Asian-fusion desserts—beautifully plated, shareable, and often interactive. This place is a viral TikTok destination, so expect a queue. The wait wasn’t too long thanks to the efficiency and urgency of the staff. While there’s definitely potential for Spot to feel like an elevated dessert bar, the fast-paced service creates a sense of rush during your seating, and the small, cramped space doesn’t help. Staff were polite, but service standards could be improved. Overall, it left more of a fast-food impression than a true sit-down dessert experience. Prices are fair, and I might consider returning for a mid-day visit to avoid the peak crowds, but it’s not a place I’d rush back to.
We tried 7 things on the menu so feel like we got a good spin… love the concept, love the ideas… the actual dessert I just didn’t think was good. The seasonal menu was 2/3 massive flop. Bingsu tasted like dole’s fruit cups on ice. Which is like whatever, but not worth $18. The peach cake with sesame ice cream tasted like absolutely nothing. I think I’ve never had a worse black sesame ice cream? The only good thing was the jasmine pan cotta, but even that I thought was too subdued. The golden toast felt like nothing special except that it will take a year off your life in sweetness overload? The harvest was OK but strawberry tasted artificial. Matcha lava cake was fine, matcha ice cream was good, chocolate lava cake tasted like fake / low quality chocolate IMO. Best dish was the cookie one, which is not even in the bundles. It’s $$ on its own, and small. Value for money was not there for me. Fun group activity, I won’t be back though given I tried 60+% of the menu and it had a 90%+ failure rate for me. 7 desserts for 7 people, $20 / pp incl tip.
