The food boy didn’t just feed my stomach, it fed my soul. We ordered the crab rangoons for starters which were very crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside the chicken red curry was by far my favorite, slightly spicy coconuty and fragrant. Chicken pad Thai was sweet and sour, very yummy. Very large entree portions. Thai tea was also very yummy and sweet. Very friendly service too. We ate this up.
Absolutely loved this place! The food was flavorful and authentic — perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Everything tasted fresh, especially the Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Definitely coming back!
What are the chances I come to NYC 2x and end up here both times?? It’s GOOD! Great food, great lunch specials. Lots of Gluten free options, and perfect for vegan/vegetarians. Service is fast and knowledgeable. Yeah, we will be back!
We’ve visited here a couple of times, didn’t disappoint. Service is super friendly, food is fresh and delicious. Not all items are gluten free, but them having an understanding of what “Gluten free” is, is everything. Thank you for the delicious food. 😃✌️
The dishes embody the traditional Thai cuisine and style. The food was served with favor and balanced with the perfect kick of spice.
Server was so friendly! My friends and i placed a reservation for this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and they accommodated us very well, they placed a candle on the cake and sang with us which was so thoughtful! The food was delicious and the portions were generous, Would absolutely come again!
Had a great time at Tam Mai Thai for dinner. The place is easy to miss because it's on the 2nd floor (FYI-staircase!) We ordered: Tom Yum Noodle Soup - our favorite! It was great mix of sour and spicy soup. It had chopped peanuts with every bite. Pad Kee Mao with chicken - flavorful with wok hei; loved the fried basil topping, not too spicy Seafood pineapple fried rice - seemed to be a lightly curry or turmeric flavored rice. Flavor wasn't as strong in comparison to the first two.
I loved this place! The workers were so sweet and the service was quick and efficient! The food was so good and the portion sizes are great. The Pad See Ew with chicken, vegetable basil fried rice, crab rangoons, spring rolls and mixed vegetables were perfect for our party of 3. The location is very calming and a nice escape from the hustle of the city! Would definitely come back again!
So good... Id buy their cookbook! We had spring rolls, chicken wings, drunken noodle with seafood, and massaman curry with chicken. All were stupendous. Theres a huge difference between places like this, who makes everything themselves, and a restaurant who uses pre-made sauces. The place is not hugely atmospheric, and its on the 2nd fl, but... go here!
Absolutely amazing Thai food! Everything we ordered was full of fresh flavors and perfectly balanced. The spices were just right, the portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had such a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic, delicious Thai cuisine — I’ll definitely be coming back!
Highly recommend the Basil Fried rice it's worth getting. We also got pad thai beef amazing as well and finally, Massaman Curry was amazing creamy and really delicious and came in hot. Spring roll and salad was really good and amazing service and aesthetic calming atmosphere I also went here for my birthday so it's definitely worth it.
Tam Moi Thai in NYC ✅ Low-key fire spot right off the subway exit. Walking up to the second floor felt like escaping the city + cold for a bit. We got the fat noodles, egg rolls, and beef + shrimp plates. All super tasty, solid portions, and came out quick. If you’re in the area and want something warm and bomb after walking all day… this is it. Would definitely come back. 🔥🍜🇹🇭
Bestt thai food place everr!! I’ve come here with my friends so many times, and it’s always amazing. The food is delicious, and there are some really good options for meals and desserts as well. I always go for the lunch deal whenever I can and it’s worth it! The service is good and everyone is really nice. The vibes and aesthetics are super cute and I love the interior design. Would defoo recommend coming <3
Food tasted freshly made, adequate portions and nice atmosphere. The location is small, but it’s intimate and employees are efficient. The lunch special was a nice deal. I ordered the Crispy Lime Chicken, and it was delicious! It was a pleasant surprise. The dressing tasted like Caesar, but the chicken seemed to be breaded in a tempura batter, which was fresh and light.
Tam Mai is a fantastic Thai restaurant in NYC that feels like a hidden neighborhood secret. You have to go up a small staircase to get to it, but once inside, the atmosphere is cozy and warm. The menu has plenty of tasty and generously portioned options, and the prices are reasonable, especially the $15 lunch special, which is a great value. You love their green curry and pad see ew with tofu, and you highly recommend them. You also mentioned that the staff is very kind and attentive, especially your server, Tom, which makes the whole dining experience even better.
Tasty Thai food, but small portions- as least for the lunch special. Ordered take out lunch special menu that came with a pad see eww and tom yum soup. The noodles were flavorful, cooked just right with the “wok hey”. The tom yum soup had good amounts of tofu, mushrooms, and onions too. Both were on the spicier side. But I’m not sure if it was because of the lunch special item, but both portions were seriously on the smaller side. Almost like a kids meal. Will definitely go back and check out other options.
I had such a great experience at this Thai restaurant. Every dish we ordered was delicious and well seasoned. The flavors reminded me of food back in Thailand. Nothing tasted watered down or adjusted too much. The menu had a great variety of options. Service was fast and very friendly. The staff was happy to answer questions about the menu. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Portions were generous for the price. This will definitely be one of my go-to Thai spots.
I came to this restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed the authentic Thai flavors — the food was very tasty. The portion felt a bit small for me, so I think ordering an appetizer along with the lunch special would make it just right. I’d love to introduce this place to my friends and come back again.
Decent Thai food. Green curry was good but could be a bit more spicier, love the drunken noodles. Owner offers a 5% off if everyone in the party leave a 5 star review. They were very forceful and checked for everyone. It’s feels very forced and probably explains why this spot has so high ratings
Do not go here. One block away is one of the best Thai places in the city: TOPAZ. it’s slightly more expensive but the value is there. As for TAM MAI: The service was not good. If the food wasn’t a total rip off then I would have been fine with that and i try not to take my issues out on the staff, but he did put my glass down with his fingers on the rim. Kind of a No no. I went at 3 pm on a Wednesday and the service was slow and it took a while before he got my order. The table of four next to me got their meals one at a time and they were all just awkwardly waiting for the final guy to get before they could eat so I’m not sure what the issue was. As they got served I noticed their food and since I hadn’t even placed my order yet I was reconsidering but finally I was able to order a pad Thai tofu lunch special with spring roll. I saw the table next to me eating their spring rolls and salad free apps with the lunch special. All skimpy and cheap. Finally My spring roll came. No dipping sauce. Bland flavorless and greasy. Fine I can let it slide, but of course not a good sign. I should have gone with my gut and left before ordering because when I Eventually I get my pad Thai it’s just orange slop. Totally greasy tiny bowl of noodles with a couple cubes of tofu on top. I tasted a few bites of the noodles and a small bite of the tofu before calling the waiter over to tell him simply that this isn’t worth $15 to me and it’s very bad and I won’t be eating it. Please cancel the order. He was nice enough about it and offered me something else but I just left. I felt bad and I hope he doesn’t have to pay for it but it wasn’t gonna be me. Gross slimy greasy measly portion of pad Thai and it gave me diarrhea. This restaurant is in a very high competition area and its costs are not competitive so they should try and make it up in the quality of the food. They don’t. It’s borderline criminal to offer this dish at $15. Absolutely outrageous zero standards at this place. Go to topaz.
