Our favorite dinner place. Sushi plates are very good. Special rolls are worth to try. Katsu, Teriyaki and other dishes are also good. Place for family dinner. Become a royal customer, you will find more treats here.

This is one of my go-to spots for a perfect date night. The fish is always incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the sushi is consistently top-notch. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional service. Every visit feels personalized, and the staff always goes above and beyond to make the experience unforgettable.
We LOVE coming to Tenzan! We adore Sam, he is the best server and has the most amazing energy ! They also have a great Happy Hour! My favorite roll is the Pink Lady Roll, it has shrimp tempura , spicy tuna and avocado all rolled in soy paper which creates the perfect bite. Can’t go wrong with their ramen and Sashimi meal, always so good. Thank you Tenzan!
This is hands down the best sushi place on the UES. I order delivery from here at least once a week and the sushi is always so fresh and delicious. The service at the restaurant is also amazing and everyone there is so nice. I’ve tried most of the other places in the area and no where ever comes close to Tenzan. Highly recommend the fire island roll, sweetheart roll, sake roll and all of their classic rolls.
Adorable place with super friendly staff! Great cuts of sushi and sashimi - the rice was great too and the presentation was beautiful as well. Had a lovely time!
This is a gem! Great food & service. Best Kani salad I’ve ever had. The miso soup had a perfect balance and my favorite rolls were spicy girl & sweet heart. (Fish is so fresh)…100% recommended
A delightful oasis. Great sushi and tempura. EXCEPTIONAL service! My husband and I ate for under $30 and had leftovers. Amazing pricing.
Came here at lunch time, the service was fast and polite. I had their three sushi rolls lunch special and it was really delicious. I’ll be back again.

Tenzan 89 is always good. Regular and special rolls are both dynamite. Very good both in the restaurant and through a delivery app.
My son wanted to have his birthday dinner at Tenzen. I have to say the food was amazing, drinks made nice and strong and service were attentive. Best udon noodles I had so far. When I'm in Brooklyn this will be my go to Japanese place.
Never had a bad experience here! Love eating here whenever I’m in the UWS. Good quality sushi. Have yet to try the omakase so will definitely be doing that next!
Appetizers, sushi, sashimi, hand, vegetable or combination rolls, Naruto to dine in, take out or delivery. Gently personnel, hostess, waitress. Razonable prices. Open 7 days from 11 am to 11 pm.
Good price in a regular restaurant. I recommend Tenzan . Saturday night so quiet and service was correct. If you are in the are, is a good option to get a lunch/dinner. I chose sashimi sushi combo and I could change California roll for Philadelphia roll just paying $2 more.
Nice sushi place with outdoor seating. Open til 11 on Saturdays. Good service and friendly staff.
The sushi quality is very good! When we get delivery, it's pretty consistent and high quality. When we dine in, the experience is not as good. The menus have updated prices taped on it. The bathroom needs to be updated and is not kept clean. The toilet seat has permanent stains on the underside and is very loose (I tried to fix it with my tools but could not). Please either print out new menus or make digital menus, and please update the bathroom!
I usually go to the Tenzan in midtown which is alot cleaner and esthetically pleasing. Me and my mom went to the upper east side locations and decided to sit inside because it was unbearably hot outside. The air conditioner wasn't working and there were flies near the food prep area. This location is also smaller and darker than the midtown restaurant. If I go back to the upper east side location it'll have to be on a nice day so that I can sit outside. Food wise, the sushi and sake is still good. However they need to work on the esthetics.
Terrible delivery service. Terrible atmosphere. Food is great though.
