Colton took care of me and my friends. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time and that we left in an even better mood than we came in. Couldn’t have asked for a better last night in New York.
From the start of service Dejae was fabulous. They made many accommodations for us as it was a monday in jan for our friends birthday. The view is fantastic and the drinks are well worth the money. Dalton was kind enough to offer the birthday girl a shot. Overall very good experience definitely will recommend to friends and family
Such an amazing view & fun crowd! The hostess was especially kind and accommodating of our large group; I definitely plan to come back again on my next trip to New York!
in the past. The vibe is cute, but the experience feels like it hasn’t evolved in the last decade. If you’re going to operate like it’s 10 years ago, at least keep the service and overall quality to that standard. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Not impressed. Thanks for the drinks—and as always, the decor is adorable.
Fun Vibes & Friendly Staff at The Roof I had a great time at The Roof! The crowd was lively and fun, which made the whole vibe super enjoyable. The staff were really nice and welcoming, which I always appreciate in a busy rooftop spot. The cocktails were on the softer side, so if you’re looking for stronger drinks, keep that in mind. But overall, it’s a great place to hang out and enjoy the view with good company.
Headline: for sure a top-tier rooftop in NYC, amazing views, good service, places to sit, blankets when it was cold, nice cocktails — we had a $75 per person minimum Details: I pride myself on knowing my rooftops and I’ve explored dozens of them through Manhattan. This one definitely stands towards the top — it covers two sides of the building, with views of the One World Trade Center and also the Empire State. It’s a covered roof, but with no weird glass barriers that block or impede the view. There’s good seating, but it’s not a free rooftop ($75 minimum) so brace for that. I made a reservation request around 12pm on a Sunday, and I got an email with the confirmation around 5pm. Honestly not much more to say other than: come! It’s a great rooftop. Our server was lovely, they gave us complimentary blankets because it was a bit chilly. The music was actually quite good and not too loud so you could actually talk. It’s just that there’s seating and it’s comfortable — makes it a great rooftop experience. And you know what: the chips and guac was great too.
This place “The Roof” made our Year 2023 already! Classy ambiance inside, incredible lower Manhattan’s view in one side & Queen’s in other side made us feel like we’re at one of the best rooftops. Not only this, also the total vibe from stepping inside the hotel walking to the rooftop amazed me & my wife a lot! In addition, great friendly behavior of their hosts also counts! In total, this is a MUST GO place in winter time to spend quality time with your beloved peoples!
Had a lovely first visit here the other week. Got to go in with a group however a downside I could see is the general line was about an hour wait. The view is spectacular and the dj was fantastic, literally played hit after hit. The outdoor area was also beautiful. To be honest, it was decently busy but I expected it to be jam packed because of the combination of the view and the good music, no complaints though! It was nice not to have to fight for a seat on the patio unlike some other rooftop venues. This is definitely being added to my going out rotation!
great terrace with amazing views! only downside was that we went with the impression there was a “sunset happy hour” per their website but upon arrival no happy hour. drinks end up being $25-30 each with tip and are served in plastic cups. yes you’re paying for the view but the plastic cheapens the bar aspect.
This rooftop bar offers absolutely stunning skyline views, and its elegant and clean ambiance, adorned with beautiful greenery, creates a delightful setting, especially during sunset. However, I must mention that the beer prices were quite steep at $15 per drink, which could be a downside for some. Additionally, our group had a bit of a mixed experience. We arrived a little early and were smoothly let in without any issues. But when our friends arrived at around 6:30, they were unexpectedly hit with a surprise policy – a $125 fee for all gentlemen or an expensive table option. We were under the impression that it was a walk-in place, so this came as quite a shock. Despite the breathtaking views and lovely ambiance, the unexpected pricing structure for larger groups might be something to consider before planning a visit with friends.
Went here hoping for a quick drink without a reservation and they were nice enough to squeeze us in. We were seated at a table with menus but no came by for 20 minutes. We didn't have time to wait longer and sadly had to leave without ordering anything. Views were nice but can't say the same about the service.
If I could give 0, I would. My friend reserved an igloo at The Roof in advance for a surprise proposal and clearly stated in the reservation that this was for a proposal. There was also a very high minimum spend required for the igloo, which we agreed to. We arrived early only to place a few very simple decorations (no tape, nothing permanent, and very easy to clean). It was a very cold night, and we appreciated being allowed to use the igloo we had reserved, especially because we chose it specifically for the NYC view. Before the proposal, my husband politely asked a staff member whether we could move the coffee table outside of the igloo so there would be enough space for my friend to kneel. We were told that the table could not be moved outside, which we completely understood and accepted. Based on that response, our understanding was that the table could not be moved out of the igloo, but that it would be acceptable to shift it slightly within the igloo to create just enough space for the proposal. We therefore only moved the table a small amount to the side and kept it inside the igloo at all times. A female staff member suddenly rushed into the igloo and spoke to us in a very rude and aggressive manner, repeatedly saying “no, no, no” and telling us what we did was “absolutely incorrect,” even though the table was never moved outside. When we calmly asked why this was a problem, she repeatedly said, “we already talked about this,” while repeatedly looking directly at my husband each time she said it, in a very pointed and accusatory way, making it feel as if she was blaming him for not communicating properly and treating us as if we had knowingly violated the rules. Her tone, facial expressions, and dismissive sighs were extremely condescending and unprofessional. The only explanation she gave for the table issue was that the fire had to stay in the center. We even offered to turn the fire off, since we did not need it. She still refused and could not provide any other clear or reasonable explanation. She then said that if we wanted to plan an event, we should have made it clear during the reservation. This was extremely frustrating, because we clearly stated that this was a proposal when we booked the igloo. We explained that we had reserved the igloo specifically to avoid disturbing other guests and to have privacy for the proposal. We also explained that there was already an $800 minimum spend required for the igloo, which we met, that we selected the highest 22% gratuity option, and that we also voluntarily gave an additional $40 tip to the bag-check staff member. She then criticized us in a very cutting and belittling way about how much we spent, telling us there is a $150 minimum per person, and repeatedly comparing us to other guests by saying that a couple in the past had spent $500 for just two people, clearly implying that our spending was inadequate. In reality, our small group spent $1,233 total ($246/person). For a venue that charges this much and promotes private igloos for special occasions, the lack of flexibility, poor communication, and especially the rude and dismissive attitude we experienced were completely unacceptable and ruined what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime moment. This place is not worth the price or the stress if you are planning an important event such as a proposal.
Not worth it. We were told $100/person, which is ridiculous. When I tried to ask the bouncer a question, he was ridiculously rude. We were a group of girls all dressed up to have a fun night here. I will be telling all my friends in NYC and those who visit to avoid this trap. Read the other low reviews and believe them. This place is a scam!
I would give zero stars if I could. Bouncer was incredibly rude to our party of girls and they expect a $100 minimum per person, which is not worth it, as other reviews have repeatedly said. This place is a trap and is not worth your money.
Hello, I’m writing to share feedback regarding my experience today, December 27, which unfortunately impacted my holiday vacation in NYC. I want to sincerely thank Zack for checking in my bag — that was handled professionally and is appreciated. However, I was disappointed with my interaction with Ira and Jaime (the gentleman wearing a cowboy hat). The situation negatively affected what should have been a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. Please let Ira know that there is Wi-Fi available here, as that information was relevant at the time. Additionally, when a guest asks, Jaime, for something as simple as a charger, the appropriate response would be to check with other colleagues who may have one available, rather than dismissing the request. Small gestures like this make a big difference in customer experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I believe these issues are easily correctable and can improve service moving forward. Thank you for your time.
