Ordered the cheeseburger, mushroom poppers and mozzarella sticks. Burger and fries were fantastic. Great place to watch sports.
Took my brother there last night and had a blast.Everyone was so friendly. Great drinks. Excellent food, that corn bread, them collard greens, those chicken wings. Great experience. J will be going back.
The bartender angie is awesome!! Drinks are well priced and it's awesome that they have a pool table, dart board, and ski ball machine. The food is delicious and has a down south taste. Recommend the jerk chicken tenders and the chili cheese fries!! Also they had a great sex on the beach, Pina colada and spicy margarita!
One of the best, calm, fun bars on the upper east side. We stumbled upon this place and always have such a great time. Susan, the bartender is another reason why we come here. She is always so sweet and conversational. This place is a hidden gem. We had a birthday party here and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves controlling the touch tunes. The pool table, darts and other games are so fun. Great seating. I wouldn't even review a bar, but this place is worth it!
Suzanne is the bartender who keeps this place in order. She tolerates no riff-raff, she's charming and goes the extra mile to make your time there eventful. Everyone loves Suzie and without her this place would be in shambles.
If you are changing trains at 63 and Lex, walk to First Avenue for a culinary treat. I was feeling for some pub food or maybe fish and chips. I found an unlikely surprise, a Liberian menu at the Spotted Dog. I ordered fish-grilled with Jollof rice and a side of cornbread. Chef Tracy came out twice to check on me. I have had Nigerian rice before. This was quite good. The fish was perfectly seared. Bartender Angie was also quite friendly. This is a cozy neighborhood spot with a billiards table. I shall return and bring others.
I’ve only been to this bar late night when I’m super drunk and don’t feel like going home and don’t mind that most of the clientele I would never pay to be around or be around during the day when sober. Luckily, I don’t have to pay to get in, but I’d be cautious here as some of the low down low value men may roofie you, sexually assault you or be angry if you turn them down and you’re an attractive woman. But the staff are super sweet and will protect you if you raise an issue. As long as you are spending money and/or not causing any issues, you’ll have a cool time here and you can be here all night, which is great. If you’re sensitive to smoke, don’t attend as they smoke a lot in the back. But there’s a cool pool table and sometimes the guys back there are chill to talk to, but not worthy enough to bring home. The music is nice, although it could be a little louder to encourage more dancing. The drinks are strong so that’s good No in and out late night as they try to keep a low profile when they’re supposed to be closed.
So I have mixed feelings about this place. Went on a weekday evening, and I do like the neighborhood sports bar atmosphere. It was right when the bartender was getting off her shift, so I had a chance to be served by 2. Really like the first one (too bad her shift ends before night kicks in) but the 2nd bartender didn't give us any attention when there were only 5 ish people at the bar. But for drinking ok tap beer and watching sports with others, it does the job. Then there's the food. Absolutely horrible. It seems that the food is served by a different "restaurant". Two separate checks for the bar and food, and different servers (bartender for bar drinks and server for food). We had their 20pc chicken wings with 2 different sauces, and the sauces didn't matter; the chicken wings were the driest wings I've ever tasted. Fries were also super soggy. We left more than half of the food, and when we didn't ask for the box, the server asked why and we told her that wings are really dry. She said she would tell the chef but not sure if one feedback would really change the food much. We ended up with $90+ total for 2 beers, chicken wings, and fries. I wouldn't go back for the food but maybe for drinks when there's a game night.
Poor choice of craft beers ...food so-so and definitely is overpriced for the quality offered. hamburger was boring AF meatballs were undercooked/almost raw centers but I rather enjoined it..still not.worth $12....maybe $8 suggestions: get good craft beers... just look across the street Milk-and-hops or UNTAPPD app Reduce sides for $7 to $5 Reduced prices with $3-4 or increase.QUALITY to match prices ....or go BANKRUPT P.S. Forgot to mentioned that the cloth napkins were smelling of burnt cooking oil... definitely needing more detergent and/or bleach
During the day is perfectly normal but it's a completely different story after 1am. Remember American Trash? Meet their now cousin. Expect fights, shady dealings and Lord help you if you care about someone who comes after hours. That relationship is doomed to fail. There's a disturbing hold this place has on people, keeping them drawn til hours in the morning. It's a nice neighborhood and little kids going to school in the morning shouldn't have to be exposed to this kind of behavior that can spill out on the sidewalk
Ladies, stay away from this place. There was a predator here and the owners defended him because he is a “good tipper”
Awful place if you are a woman. The owners care more about money than the wellbeing of their female patrons.
This place is trash. Three out of four beers we ordered were wrong, the bartender was hanging all over a guy at the bar and they went into the bathroom together, and the obnoxious group playing pool crossed our name out on the chalkboard. Just a grimey place. Go somewhere else.
The spotted dog is very racist. They have after hours where they only let a select few people in. Me and my friend asked to go inside as the bouncer came outside (after 4am) and told us that they were closed and not letting anyone in. Me and my friend walked away and saw a group of white people come in and he immediately let them in. The bouncer that works on Thursday night on September 4th going into September 5th 4am was responsible for this. Do not recommend this place and will complain to higher ups for the extreme racism and unfairness that me and my friend experienced.
If there was a negative 20 stars, I would give it. The female bartender, very rude, comes up to my fiancee and I and says, "everybody is complaining about your music." This is after she skipped one of my songs which I paid extra for, and lowered the volume on one of my previous songs before that. I told her that people pay money to listen to their music and they expect to listen to what they pay for. If I pay money, I expect to listen to my music. Regardless of genre; regardless of what people's music taste is. If I can listen to their music and not complain, then I expect no complaints from anyone. She then proceeds to tell me she doesn't want to argue and I said neither do I, but the truth is that this is America and if people don't like the music, they can leave. She then tries to give me her phone to put the song again after I asked for the check, but I refuse, saying she really messed up the mood for us. The kicker is, we asked for reimbursement for the song SHE skipped but she stayed mum and eventually walked away. The reality of the situation is that my fiancee was watching her from the bar as she skipped the song and not ONE person came up to her to 'complain.' I get people don't like certain music, and neither do I. But I'm not walking around being a bad neighbor or customer complaining for nothing. To each their own. If she didn't like our music, she could have reimbursed us instead if lying and saying people were complaining. Very poor taste and not classy on her part at all. The bathrooms are disgusting as well, and this particular bartender was vaping inside by the windows. The last time I visited with a friend, they lit up a cigarette and the owner got mad and told us we had to leave, but apparently, this bartender can do what she pleases without reprecussion. Despite my last visit, I decided to give them another chance tonight, but they are a worthless bar who have gone downhill. There are also drugs being dealt and done behind where the pool tables are. I recommend to not waste your money going there. Save your jukebox money for a future concert, not on a garbage bar.
