I loved my meal and dessert. The sangria was delcious, not watered down like other places. I was going to have the pappardelle but ended up getting the linguini (lucky for me the bf got the pappardelle) and both was excellent.
Excellent service and food was impeccable. Dessert, espresso, prosecco, homemade bread and pasta, the place was aces!
Food is very fresh. Friendly stuff and good service. We really enjoyed. Thanks we will be back soon.
Very delicious salad and pizza!! Came in for dinner at 9 pm. We had great service and food.
Lovely alfresco dining on a beautiful day, great service, good wine, decent happy hour deals, and amazing shrimp risotto!
Cozy atmosphere. Love the service (Bibi's great!) and the food that we ordered was soo good.
Delightful A friend and I were so pleased to find this oasis in the current indoor eating desert of New York City. Although Tre Otto has ample outdoor service - with heat - we might not have stayed given we were already a bit chilled after walking in Central Park. To our delight the waitress graciously invited us to dine indoors where every COVID precaution was in place. Old world charm, courteous, and attentive service plus really good food and drinks warmed our hearts. I was particularly delighted with my entree choice, linguine with clams. The clams were served at just the right "hot" - on the shell!! The light garlic and salted olive oil sauce was perfect. House wine and a well made cappuccino rounded out the early lite dinner. My companion was equally happy with his Ravioli dish. The ambience? Vintage New York Italian - black and white tile floors, dark wood bar and tables, leatherette seating, great mellow ballad classics piped in. As day turned to evening, soft colorful lights came on adding to the charm. It all felt so "normal" and comforting; a real treat given the social restrictions related to COVID and other painful circumstances we're all living through. We'll definitely be back.
Even though I was left hanging a bit, at least thirty minutes, waiting for my bill after lunch, probably due to a shift change, I will still give this place top marks. The food was truly spectacular - exquisite marinated octopus, so perfectly tender just as you'd get in Italy. A creamy burrata draped generously with rich paper-thin prosciutto, which led to a bowl of one of the most perfectly authentic carbonara pastas I've ever tasted in this country. Atmosphere on a hot summer day was relaxed and buzzing, not too loud at all. And service, aside from the bit at the end, was gracious and efficient. Don't miss out on their unusual wine list, gently priced for NY, with many boutique Italian options by the glass.
This is a great family-owned restaurant in Carnegie Hill. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, and the food is consistently excellent. I'm partial to the rice ball (saffron rice, crisp peas and beef ragout swimming in tomato sauce) and the southern Italy style lasagna (similar to what I've had in Rome). Always a good experience to dine with them, and fun to sit at the bar. Recommend!
We sat outside in their covered seating area. It was raining but we had a beautiful time anyway. The food was great all around, especially the arancini but really everything. We will definitely come back again!
Tre Otto was a serendipitous find for us as we concluded a long stroll through Central Park. All of the pasta dishes were excellent, as were the bread, espresso and tiramisu. The service was flawless. I highly recommend this unassuming neighborhood spot.
My aunt and I have gone 2x in 2 weeks. The food is amazing. I had the lasagna both times. The wine was delicious. The service was great.
I found this place by accident. I was visiting my mother in the hospital nearby, and was looking for a place to eat. My expectations were not high. I was so surprised and delighted to find the food to be wonderful! My cocktail was delightful
Great family restaurant! Delicious food! This place is spotless. They take a lot of pride in the dishes they serve . They use premium ingredients. I worked for this family for close to 15 years in my young years. They're appreciation for good food transcends ! The atmosphere is very cool to!
The quality of the food was amazing! Even though there is a step to get in, they have a ramp they put down to let in wheelchair customers. The atmosphere contributed to the great experience I had. Music was 90s music. Lights are low. There are options to eat at tables next to the bar or away from the bar. The workers were so helpful because I'm in a wheelchair and they helped clear the way for me to get to the bathroom and checked to ensure I was ok. The calamari tasted so good. I wish I lived in this area so I could visit again. Highly recommend!
We visited today with our friends for the first time. It’s a nice restaurant with pretty cool outside sitting. We ordered multiple appetizers and entrees.. food was good, but Calamari and Pasta was amazing. Only challenge was slow service, though there want much rush but still it took pretty long time for delivery.
Nice Italian foods, Good - the Pizza dough. Not so good - the soup was tasty but was heated by microwave.
For whatever reason I've developed a habit of coming here after my wife has surgery at Mt Sinai, which is up the street. The food is good, from burgers to seafood, and more importantly for me a plentiful selection of liquor.
I have cone here for work events. The food is always delicious. The service is great. The wait is a little long but its worth it for the great food.
Only stopped for drinks. But very nice atmosphere!
One of my go to happy hour places in that area! Truffle fries are totally worth it!
Greasy pasta but good service and atmosphere
I have come here several times and the food is quite good. The only issue I have is with the wait staff...depending on the day you might get great service or you'll wait a bit. It's never really crowded so I don't understand why they're not more timely. But the food in all is delicious. From the salads to the pizza to the pasta, it's all quite delicious. If you're on that side of the park or close to the museum it's a nice walk for a good lunch.
5 of us went here for a working lunch without reservation. Seated quickly, good service. I had the Italian sausage panini which came with a side salad. No complaints from anybody my colleagues.
Nice mid/higher-end spot for lunch in a strip of chains. Easy-going Italian vibe with rustic tin ceiling and much-appreciated house wine & tap beer happy hour. The pesto fusilli was unexpected good with tomato and almond. I've never been for dinner, but presumably same story.
Stopped for lunch after our doctor visit. Paninni was wonderful! House wine is good. Music a bit too loud in the back room but the 40's era selections are a nice touch.
I enjoyed the Tagliatelle Bolognese. It wasn't the greatest meal I've ever had (maybe a little overpriced for what it was), but the portion was extremely generous and the sauce was great! Friendly servers, and I plan to go back when I'm in this neighborhood. It's conveniently located close to Mt. Sinai Hospital.
Really great sicilian food in a food desert of the UES. The pasta with lamb and goat cheese was better than I expected. I cant wait to go back and try other things. The meatballs were also good, but neapolitan style isn't their specialty. Stick with sicilian foods!
Very pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and food quality. Service could be improved. I had to call service to my table several times. But the place was fantastic. I will go back
The staff was great, there were not much people though. The food was OK. The starters were very good, however the main dish was very average. Very large in quantities it was not a restaurant dishes more like a food at home. Chicken, swordfish nothing special just OK
Bartender there was really nice (disclaimer), the cooks not so much. The risotto i ate in house was flavorful but still al dente. The roasted chicken was a health hazard and waste of money.
Clean, cozy, spot for Italian food. Catering available for special events..
The salmon with spinach is good do not order the fries, you're better off ordering fries from McDonald's. The sangria and happy hour i recommend. Service needs a little impoverished, only because they have 2 persons.
My friends and I came here to wind down after a long day working at the hospital. This is a great spot for getting drinks after work. They have happy hour drinks at decent prices. Personally, I wasn't able to drink as I'm allergic to alcohol but luckily they offer non-alcoholic beer so I was able to at least "pretend" to drink while my friends actually drank haha. The non-alcoholic beer tasted pretty good, to be honest. It's not as bitter as actual beer. The food, however, didn't live up to expectations. We ordered a plate of garlic knots to share, but they tasted basically like dinner rolls. I only tasted a hint of garlic in them. There was no garlic, oil, or really any type of seasoning on the knots. They were kind of dry. The service was good, though. The gelato was pretty good though. I had the hazelnut flavor and one of my friends had the chocolate flavor. Both were delicious, so no complaints about the dessert. The service was good too. The waiter was nice. I would be willing to go back and try some of their other menu items. Hopefully it was just an off day for them that one time.
Decent- a bit pricey is the reason behind the 3 star review. 20$ for a single serving pizza seems a bit much especially since it doesn't seem to be a true brick oven place. Overall, it does have a relaxing vibe.
You would think that spending nearly $300 on a family dinner you would enjoy good service; not so at Tre Otto. The food was excellent, but the service, while friendly and pleasant, was ineffective and lacklustre. We were not informed of any specials or deficiencies in the menu (learning later there were many). We were not provided with a basket of bread (other tables were--the is New York, after all). Our appetiser cutlery was not replaced with clean cutlery for the mains (in fact, the waitress scolded us to retain the soiled cutlery). We were not offered to taste the wine bottle that we ordered before it was poured. My daughter ordered lasagne, only to be told there was none. At the end of the meal, we were offered dessert menus, but told there was only ice cream (3 flavours). Maybe this was just a bad day at Tre Otto. The food was great. The service and management left a lot to be desired.
Attended here a few times for work events. Had a consistent experience. Great customer service. Ambiance somewhat palpable. Food not my favorite. Food lacks flavor and portions are small. Not worth the price.
Went here for lunch once and had some nice orecchiette pasta and burrata. The service and atmosphere were both good, but overall I wouldn't say a "fun" place to go. I'd still go back to try their happy hour sometime ($6 sangria!).
Ordered Mozerella sticks and two orders of Penne con Salsiccia. Mozerella sticks had a weird consistency and didn't taste good. I've had better from White Castle believe it or not. The Penne con Salsiccia was a problem. The sauce was split so it was really greasy. It also barely had any sausage and was extremely underseasoned. Had plenty of peas though. I've had better for half the price.
Pizza was good but the service was bad. Server was a bit rude when we asked about specials which was posted outside. After we got our pizza, we essentially forgotten for the rest of the meal. We wait to see how long before before someone came to check up on us or even offer us a check before we asked one of the other servers to get a check and then that took a while to come. Wish we had a better experience because the food was actually good but that wasn’t the case.
We moved into the neighborhood a short time ago and we have been meaning to try the restaurant for some time. Tonight we decided on an early dinner and we were planning on eating inside. That changed when we were waiting at the bar for the hostess. A large mouse ran across the center of the restaurant. The owner was at the bar and when we mentioned the mouse he was unfazed. I was surprised my wife still wanted to eat there, but she only demanded we eat outside. On the positive side, they brought us a bottle of tap water and didn't try to up sell us on sparkling/bottled water. For dinner, I ordered the rigatoni carbonara. That was a mistake. To set the stage, I put a lot of salt on everything--I mean alot. The rigatoni was more rubbery (aka cafeteria) than al dente and the carbonara was so salty, that an hour later I still can't get the saltyness out of my mouth. My wife had the asparagus and shrimp risotto, which was fine, but nothing more than ordinary (read Trader Joe's). The bread was a positive, but the Oil and Basalmic was also disappointing. The balsalmic vinegar was a solid blob stuck to the bottom of the plate under the oil. We did our best to mix it up to no avail. We really wanted dinner to be at least fine so we could go there again.....but that won't happen. This review is probably too kind....
The food is passable, but the service is lacking. The bartender-waitress was rude to myself and my husband when we were asking for drink options and ordering dinner. She cut both of us of when ordering and had to be prompted to retrieve parmesan and pepper when our entrees arrived. Other tables seemed to not have an issue with service. Finally, she hung out with her regulars at the bar instead of taking our dessert order. We finally flagged down another waitress to get the check instead.
I have ordered here a few times and the food is good. I have done take out and dinning. The service was a tad slow for dinning but wasn't in a big rush anyway so it was fine. The last time I did take out I had a problem with my order. I ended up going back later ( I was only a few blocks away) and told the lady that took my order that it was wrong. She got super defensive and said I never asked for that?! I 100% did!! I wasn't even asking for a refund, I was just letting her know. I was expecting a sorry or oh I must have misunderstood you...but NO instead got nasty and defensive. Will not order again...you just lost a customer!
live around the neighborhood and went there to try the $6 Happy Hour Sangria.. they were ok, Service at the bar not the friendliest but the worst part was the AC or lack of it! I will try this place out once more in a few weeks and see how it is.:)
I had their Margarita pizza delivered tonight. When I opened the box the pizza was in pieces, totally disheveled and looked as if the box had been dropped enroute by their delivery person. The pizza was ice cold and inedible. Wound up throwing it out...total waste of money and time.
They try to rip-off & discriminate me because i am an asian with a baby. First of all, they do not serve a bread before main dish. Second, they say "we do not carry small bottle sparkling water", but they serve small one at the next table according to the picture. Finally, they are not friendly & kind. I have unhappy experience at this restaurant, so I DO NOT WANT TO RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DO NOT GO.
Ordered delivery, waited 2 hours, no food came. Called restaurant, they said they had no ability to check whether or not my order had gone out. So best case scenario is I have to call my credit card and get a charge back, worst case scenario is someone is going to show up at my house at 2:00 a.m. with cold eggplant parmesan and I'm also going to have to call my credit card company with a chargeback. 🤷
Bartender was so rude, they are definitely understaffed. I had a sangria that literally tasted like pure brandy. Had a subpar butternut squash soup. The place is super cute and music was great.
The food was amazing! I'm giving it 1 star because the waitress (with the accent) thought my personality was too direct and made sure She left me know! Twice! yikes she ruined my entire experience. I'll never return.
I just left here and I was not pleased at all! Thankfully we were seated immediately because not even half the tables were taken but it took them 45 mins to give us the appetizers and they only gave us 1 out of 3 appetizers with a glass of wine for the 3 of us then after waiting another 30 mins and realizing the food was not coming and seeing the rest of the customers leave and us receiving attitude when asked for another glass of wine we decided to leave. Once I asked them for the bill and said I was leaving my waitress became upset and said “well I’m busy”. It’s sad because the vibe is nice until you feel it out.
