A great experience with really good food. Portions are just right (portions are big for 1 girl - I wish I could share as I ordered too many meals dim sum is amazing together with rice and sweet-sour pork) the cooking feels authentic and the atmosphere is engaging. Shanghai Deluxe delivers excellent meals, friendly service and great value for the price. I sit in a round table with other people and we could all enjoy our meal and pleasant conversation) 🍽️✨
This place understands portion sizes that work. The food follows authentic cooking practices. You'll be intrigued by the atmosphere. I appreciate Yeah Shanghai Deluxe for their excellent meals and employee service. Your payment yields appropriate value.
The kitchen makes great dishes and the servers make you feel welcome. The team members are speedy yet attentive. Everything on my plate was perfect. This place completely won me over. I intend to try every item they make.
Had a wonderful meal in Chinatown. Split chicken lo mein and some pork and leek dumplings with my friend! The wonton soup and hot and sour soup were perfect for the cold winter night. Great selection of food. This place can get pretty crowded though, so arrive before the big dinner rush around 5-5:30. Service is fast!
This trip to Chinatown was part of my ME day, and my self-care regimen. I decided to treat myself not cheat myself this evening. Been desiring this meal for about 2 weeks.. I ordered eggplant with garlic sauce and steamed vegetable dumplings. Have to order (separately; Ala Carte) the white rice, as it doesn't come with the eggplant with garlic sauce entree. The eggplant was $15.95, but as you can see I had a good sized platter to enjoy there and take home for a day or two. The dumplings come six (6) to an order. Price was $6.95. What I like about these dumplings are the creative leaf design of the wrapping. As well, the dumpling wrappers are green. Sort of a specialty wrapper, as everyone doesn't have this but used the standard dumpling wrappers and color. It taste good and the sauce compliments the dumplings. Bathroom & restaurant were clean. They accept cash and cards. If using credit cards/debit cards, there's a $15 minimum order to use card. They have lunch specials of some of your favorites for ONLY $9.00, but must get it before 3 or possibly 3:30pm Mon -Fri only. Comes with main entree, rice and I believe a soup for the $9.00 pricetag. Reasonable.
Very satisfying lunch at this typical Chinese restaurant in the heart of Chinatown with friendly, helpful, and attentive service and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Note: When you ask for the bill, the restaurant will charge you for the tip in advance.
Shanghai dough was delicious because it was not overly sweet. Soupy dumplings were good. Crispy noodles with seafood was cooked perfectly. Water rooms = traditional c-town condition. ;)
Thought Gen Tso would be a bit different in China Town....but it was...Gen Tso. I suppose should have ventured a bit further afield in my taste. The chicken was cooked perfect but it wasn't spicy. Sticky rice and broccoli rounded out the dish. Both were perfect. I suppose it was a perfect Gen Tso although a bit on the mild side. My wife had the chicken lo mein...about the same as you can get outside of China Town. Restaurant decor is what I would expect in China Town, servers did a good job. Drinks are in cans, and it can be crowded in there. I would go back, but venture a bit further on the pallette next time.
The restaurant is relatively big comparing to other Chinese restaurants nearby. The decor looks out of date. The carpet needs some deep clean or completely replaced. We came here on a Sunday afternoon at around 4pm. The restaurant was not too busy so the food came out quickly. We ordered Shanghai style stir fry rice cake, sautéed smoked pork. They were tasty and authentic. The ingredients were fresh. The spicy cabbage was a disappointment though. It was not spicy at all and too sweet. The service was okay.
Good restaurant to come and have a good taste of the Chinese gastronomy. In this case we tasted pork and white rice, beef soup, and a good tofu soup. Different flavors that in some moments are weird but interesting. I always think that you need to taste other things even when they don’t call much your attention. A little bit never kills anyone. Here in this restaurant I got to give a 5 star to the decoration and the tables, it was perfect in all aspects. The service in the beginning was ver y normal but it went better when we ordered more. The flavors of the food I must say that where unique and gave me the intentions to see what more can we taste. For the handicapped people it is friendly.
Clean and Comfortable environment with quality customer service. Rice cakes we're very fresh. Preserved radish with pork and thin noodle soup was very tasty. One of the better bowls of soup in the neighborhood. The soup dumplings were just ok, left a lot to be desired. Fried Dumplings were OK, nothing special. The dinner menu looks interesting. We would definitely go back with family for a bigger meal.
It’s very friendly Shanghainese restaurant in the NYC Chinatown. We went there on the Christmas eve and the place was packed. The waiter didn’t let us wait long and seated us right away. We ordered the Ginger and scallion stir-fried two lobsters special, Stewed intestines casserole and Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in Chili Sauce. The waiter replaced our plates multiple times and gave us many wet napkins to clean our hands. The only complain is that the lobster dish was a little bit too oily. Other than that everything was very professional made and I’ll strongly recommended this restaurant to anyone one wants the taste of traditional Chinese style cuisines.
Very expensive, dishes don't come with sides i.e., crispy duck was just the duck and sauce for $30. Chicken with mixed veggies had no rice (had to order separately. There's better options across the road.
Food was fine, BUT they speak bad English, you have to know what are you ordering, otherwise they are not going to be able to explain. Soda is served in cans, no glasses. Tip is INCLUDED!!! That is just not right, and its 20%, what if I didnt have enogh for 20% when I ordered my food? I should be able to choose how much the tip is going to be. EDIT: After asking about it, they managed to explain what it was and gave me new total without tip included. I left the tip, like I always do, but dont like to be forced to do so.
The restaurant is clean and looks nice, but the service was not the best. The food lacked taste. The orders were incorrect and they simply took the plate into the back removed the shrimp and brought it back out without the chicken that we had asked for when it came to the chicken lo mein. This was evident because of the fact that there were still shrimp left on the plates. We were never asked if we wanted drinks. It was extremely pricey we ordered five dishes and it was more than $80. Very unhappy with both the food and the service.
