Really good food and a great experience 🙌 Although there were some issues with the table grills, the staff handled it perfectly, they kindly offered to bring any selected meat grilled by the kitchen directly to our table. The servers were very attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The food was excellent. We ordered the marinated short rib (the meat quality was really good), Galbi rice, steamed dumplings, and potato noodles. The top choices would definitely be the marinated short rib and the dumplings.
THE STAFF IS BEYOND KIND and ATTENTIVE! They deserve a 10 out of 5! The service was just phenomenal. The hospitality was amazing. As we left, each individual staff member said thank you. Our waiter explained everything to us including all the sauces and menu. He saw my husband couldn’t use chopsticks and said “do you want a fork” Amazing attention to detail. Not even a single wrapper was left on the table. My husband and I had such a good time with such a spacious table. The food was extremely flavorful. They have amazing side dishes and the beef belly had a bold delicious flavor. We also had the kimchi stew which was so comforting on a chilly New York City night. The kimchi rice was exploding with flavors. I immediately texted my friends raving about this place.
Excellent Korean barbecue. The meat was top quality and the mains and sides were a cut above those at any other Korean barbecue in NYC. The tables are large and comfortable. The food was slow to come out, perhaps because they had problems with the gas line so they had to cook everything in the kitchen. They could have served the banchan first, but they didn't.
Yoon Haeundae Galbi was fantastic. The service was genuinely great—everyone was friendly and on top of things the whole time. The bulgogi was insanely good, and the dumplings were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. They also give super generous portions of all the sides, which made the meal feel even better. I’d definitely go back.
Lovely experience at Yoon Haeundae Galbi from start to finish. Reservations were made easily on Resy. The restaurant had issues with the grills the night we went but they had great communication before and throughout our meal. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. They have a yuzu ade that is nice and refreshing. The Wagyu Kimchi Fried Rice was made with wagyu, egg, mozzarella cheese, and scallion. Cooked beautifully with mouth watering wagyu and a great cheese pull. The Pork Kimchi Stew had pork belly, tofu, and enoki mushrooms. A comforting and belly warming meal. There were also two dessert options and we went with the Chochung U-gua Gelato. It was topped with honey caviar, a rice cracker, rice syrup, and sesame. Will be back to try their grilled meats next time for sure. Recommend stopping in if you’re in the mood for some good eats and lovely staff. Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept. Seating is very comfortable indoors.
The service is absolutely top-notch, and the food is just as amazing! I’m Korean, I’ve been missing authentic Korean flavors and sauces so much, and Yoon Haeundae Galbi truly delivers. All the side dishes and the Korean BBQ taste perfect for both Koreans and foreigners!!❤️🩷 ✨ Pro tip: After finishing your meat, you must order the potato noodles — they’re unbelievably delicious! ❤️ Also, it’s a halal-friendly restaurant with only beef, no pork 🧕🏻🥩 Highly, highly recommended! 😍
Me and my friend went to Yoon to celebrate our anniversary. It was a wonderful time! I’ve been to Yoon before and it was so nice to dine here again. The food is always spectacular and the staff are amazing. My personal favorite menu item is the Prime Package. The meat and side selections are superb and the value is totally there. We also ordered some potatoes which were delicious and came with the most flavorful sauce. For drinks I had the Matcha my Seoul and my friend had a beer; and yes we did have 2 rounds haha. They have the option of tap, still, or sparkling water. I personally prefer still so we got Acqua Panna. But if you want sparkling they will bring you S.Pellegrino. The entire meal is prepared for you by the staff which I prefer as I do not like to cook the meat by myself like at some other establishments. This makes for a very immersive experience where the staff are constantly interacting with you but in a way that almost seems effortless. This is due in part to the fact that every thing is cooked in increments and you are able to have the privacy of the dining experience as well in between cooking times. May I also add that all of the staff walk around with tide pens in their little pockets on their aprons and it has to be one of the cutest and most mindful things I’ve ever seen for a restaurant wait staff. I literally dropped kimchi on my cream sweater and my server handed me a tide pen to clean it up. My shirt looked as if nothing was on it after she saved me from my red stained kimchi mess haha. Lastly, as a surprise, they brought out a very delicious dessert with a candle in it to celebrate our anniversary. I believe the dessert consisted of shaved ice with a cinnamon syrup and some tasty garnishes. It was very sweet of them. I will be going back again and again. Some of the pictures are from my first dining here back in June and then the most recent visit was so good I only got one picture! Ultimately I highly recommend going to Yoon whenever you are in NYC this restaurant is right in the heart of the city and belongs on anyone’s top 5 list!
I ate here recently for the first time for lunch with a business colleague and we had so much fun. The food is yummy. Some of the best Korean BBQ I have had in NYC. The dishes were well done and the beef was melt in your mouth soft and so juicy and tender. I don’t know all the dishes we tried but I highly recommend and want to go back soon for dinner soon.
NYC korean town has tons of great BBQ places but this ranks up there. Its origins come from Pusan, S. korea, and the food doesn’t disappoint. The meats: the Waygu is excellent and tasty but the top dog was their marinated beef. Just tender, juicy and delicious. The Banchan is also top notch and the sleeper for best bites may have been their Nyun Myeng noodles - it was the best I ever had. It was that good. Great service and clean, modern interiors took the rest home. Repeat visit kind of place.
I came here with my girlfriend to meet my gaming buddy of 10+ years for the first time. It was the perfect environment to chat over food and drinks. Thanks for making this milestone in our friendship so memorable! The food was amazing. I recommend the Prime Package with a side of the Korean Fried Chicken and potato noodles. I will be coming back in the future to try the other dishes!
This place was highly recommended to me since I love Korean barbecue. The wait was not too long since someone I know has direct connection with the owner. The ambiance is modern and high end with two levels of seating. The service they provided was one of the best I have ever been served and the food and quality was out of this world. All the meats and cuts they offer is top of the line and carefully maintained. The drinks they make were very good and worth it. Yes this place can be pricey, but I was taught if the food is great the price don’t matter. I highly recommend this place for all the Korean barbecue fanatics and to anyone looking for great food and time. I definitely will be back since I’m addicted already!
Had a great experience at this Korean BBQ spot. The beef quality was excellent—well-marbled and flavorful, and everything was cooked just right. Our server was attentive and helpful, offering solid recommendations that really made the meal better. She even handed me a tide pen when i dropped my chopsticks on my pants! They focus exclusively on beef for the BBQ, so there’s no pork selection, which is something to keep in mind. It’s a great place for groups, though dining time is limited—1.5 hours for smaller parties (1–3 people) and 2 hours for groups of 4 or more. Despite the time limit, the service is efficient, and the overall vibe is welcoming. Definitely one of the best Korean BBQ spots I’ve been to in Manhattan.
This has been my absolute favorite Korean restaurant! I visited four times, and every experience was fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious—hands down the best Korean cuisine I’ve ever had. Everything was incredible, but the Korean BBQ was definitely a standout. The service was equally impressive. The staff was always attentive, quick, and polite, making each visit a pleasure. I truly love this restaurant and would happily return anytime. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Korean food!
I was researching where to eat in Busan and came across Yoon Haeundae Galbi. A quick search revealed a location right in NYC, with an amazing weekday lunch special: galbi + kimchi stew + banchan for $37. I took advantage of a work holiday to get lunch and the galbi was so amazingly tender. I was extremely happy with my meal. I came back a couple months later with friends for dinner and the restaurant warned us in advance that there were no tabletop grills (all meat would be cooked in the kitchen), but they did not mention that the rest of the menu was quite limited because their gas lines were under inspection and they had fewer cooking surfaces in the kitchen. Dishes like the tteokbokki (my friend’s favorite), kimchi stew, and pajeon were not available. In exchange for the hassle, we were given a complimentary ssam set which we really enjoyed. The sauces were delicious! I would add that to any future dinner here. Food: The galbi was tender and flavorful, the soybean stew was actually better than the kimchi stew, and my friends really loved the purple multigrain “healthy” rice (they had never had it before). I would say the weakest thing we got was the kimchi fried rice - it just wasn’t super memorable. I got it because we couldn’t get a pajeon. I wish they had steamed egg to go with all that meat. Service was excellent: the banchan, rice, and barley tea kept coming all night. Our waiter divided up the stew and kimchi fried rice into separate bowls for the group. Overall, a successful dinner outing. Just rated 4/5 because it felt like a third of the menu was missing.
We had a dinner reservation and had a nice experience. They had issues with the table grills, but we still had a good time. Their communication was on point and appreciated. They accommodated by bringing any selected meat grilled by the kitchen to the table & offered our choice of a complimentary ssam set (lettuce wrap) or dessert item in addition. Great ambiance, upscale modern w/ low lighting, perfect for any groups. The service is also top notch, servers are very attentive and helpful. Shoutout to Chanhong for taking care of us. The food was solid. We started off with the dumplings, got the fresh short rib, wagyu short rib, wagyu kimchi fried rice, and Busan cold noodles. The fresh short ribs and wagyu short ribs were great. Their meat quality is great. We ordered a few of each & the banchans were great too. The Busan cold noodles and wagyu kimchi fried rice were both underwhelming tho, especially the cold noodles. I love cold noodles but didnt care for this milmyeon, at all… Lastly, I must say, we found a hair in our complimentary lettuce wrap set. Overall we had a good time, service is great, meat quality is great too. Had to rate 4 stars, only due to the hair and the milmyeon
It was a bit disappointing, which was a shame because I really wanted to like it. We ordered the full set for two, including kimchi stew and a potato pancake. With the side dishes, every dish was unfortunately quite mediocre, and the BBQ was a bit tough. The highlight was definitely the servers—their service was fantastic. The ambiance was also nice, but overall, I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.
Decent KBBQ. I like the way they cook the meat! I went there around 8:45 pm, so they were pretty rushed from start to finish. By around 10, the waiter served dessert before I had finished eating. Part of it may have been because it was Christmas Eve. I’ve been here many times, and most of the time I would give it a 4-star rating.
We had the sirloin and marinated short ribs BBQ that came with delicious small plates like kimchi and lotus roots (I think?), some dried fish, and some broccoli. We also had the Korean pancake which was so good mixed with their Korean hot sauce. Food overall was great, staff was super friendly, but it’s over priced for the portions you get. The pear sorbet was bad, I didn’t like it one bit.
