The waitress so polite and friendly. The breakfast was very good. I will come back again.
Fabulous! The food the atmosphere and the service! We originally had dinner reservation at another restaurant who called and canceled on us due to a "snow storm". We were visiting from another state .Started looking for open restaurants and found this amazing place! Blown away with how good the food was ! My group said the cocktails were delicious as well! I had a mocktail as I am pregnant and oh man probably the best one I have had so far. Highly recommend
Everything is was top notch! Service, hospitality, and especially the delicious food. Went for brunch, had to try the Martini flights, were excellent and strong! Food was yummy we had the two brisket hash, avocado toast, and breakfast burrito. All amazing and would consider stopping in if in the area.
Delicious, very special food, lovely casual atmosphere. Value was higher than many places that charge 2-3x as much. We had the chicken and waffles (crunchy, crusty, crispy, sweet savory) $20 and pork brisket hash (braised, broiled, browned, big and chunky—very special) $20. We drooled over the shakshukkah and burgers to the left and right of us. Lovely Violet Hour mocktail $9, and a local beer $8. Carolina and her associates were lovely, attentive staff!!
The brisket hash is AMAZING!!!!! Large portions, chill atmosphere and attentive service. Carolina was just the right balance of helpfulness without upselling us. Their hot sauce is the bomb! It’s hard to find actual HOT around here, but they really bring it. Absolutely 100% recommend this place!
There are few places left in the Hudson Valley that provide the experience Mrs. Fairfax does. Chef Angel's kitchen is serving the best food in the valley, and consistently. Their wings are insanely good; burger is outstanding; soups and salads all are excellent. Brunch is great. Honestly, I have yet to encounter a dish I didn't enjoy. If you're a drinker they have solid draught offerings, a good wine list, and their barkeeps are well trained mixologists. The interior is cozy and beautiful, and, on nice days, they have the greatest hidden outdoor spot in the Hudson Valley (I call it the secret garden). I do wish they would take down the umbrellas at the tables though, as they partially block the glorious views of the dancing ivy on the adjacent brick building. Overall, this is my favorite restaurant in the area by quite a margin. Get here now.
I have to say that on our last visit, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I would say a absolute improvement from what we have seen in the past. We started with wings, which were really quite good, perfectly cooked with an adequate supply of carrots and celery to satisfy three people. I am burger was phenomenal, it was huge, and I really had a difficult time finishing it, but it was delicious and the fries were cooked quite well. The fried calamari was excellent also as was the pad Thai. Claire and Newburgh are looking for a place to eat, this is the place to go.
We come here a few sundays a month and Carolina takes care of us perfectly, every time. The food quality for a Hudson Valley restaurant like this at such an affordable price point is unmatched. The region has a lot of mediocre establishments that are frankly overpriced, but this one is a true gem. It’s rare you find a place where anything you try on their menu is phenomenal. If you only have time for one meal around here, I highly recommend it be at this one.
We were driving from Boston, MA to York, PA and needed to stop and fuel our bellies. We were driving through Newburgh, NY and found this gem of a restaurant. It is such a great place, and the food is really delicious! They have a pretty back patio space but we sat in the main dining area near the bar. We all enjoyed the house made complimentary bread (wish I could get that recipe!). The plates were a good portion size and there was a nice variety of dishes to choose from. We enjoyed the special shrimp wrap; a bowl of Stracciatella soup; fried chicken tenders; and the beet and goat cheese salad with grill with added shrimp. So good!! I appreciate that they were attentive to my food allergy requests, too. It would be such a lovely spot for a girls night out or to get a drink at the bar (wish we lived closer!). Glad we found it and will definitely go back if we're ever in the area again!
Creative, delicious, beautiful cocktails! Fresh warm bread and butter started our meal. There were numerous gluten-free options on the menu as well as seafood, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. All executed perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and offered helpful suggestions. The guava cheesecake was fabulous! We had a wonderful birthday dinner for our friend.
I've been supporting Liberty Street businesses for quite a few years. This is the first time I was able to get into Mrs. FAIRFAX at a table. I already knew their specialty cocktails were delicious. We were a table of 4. We were greeted immediately. We were able to order from either the brunch side or the lunch side of the menu. I never turn down homemade hash, and don't lie to me, I can spot the canned stuff instantly. Well, the chef did not disappoint. I had the brisket hash served under 3 eggs and mixed in with roasted potatoes. It was delicious. My husband had a little bit of everything. He had the breakfast slam. My friends had an omelet and the crispy chicken sandwich with jalapeños and pickles on a brioche bun. They at first forgot his fries but rectified the situation quickly. The service was excellent. They worked as a team with at least 2 different servers checking in on us. I'm excited to go back and try their dinner menu. If you're in Newburgh, check them out. Try and make reservations. We didn't and were lucky. It filled up quickly at 1pm, and they had people waiting for tables. In the winter, they have limited seating but in warm months they have outside tables.
We are visiting from out of town and found this gem! We got the breakfast sandwich, the salmon sandwich and the green goddess wrap (unwrapped) which were all fantastic! The coffee was great as well. If we lived nearby this would be our go to spot for brunch! The service and atmosphere matched the high quality of the food. If you're in the area you should definitely check this place out!
Had an early lunch here during the week and was greeted by a friendly server who was quick to bring a menu and show their specials. I ordered the steak sandwich special. The steak was on the chewy and fatty side but the combination of ingredients on the sandwich was very good. I asked if the sandwich came with fries and I was told it did but apparently they weren’t included in the listed price. So when I got my check I was surprised to see a $2 up charge for the fries. I didn’t order an alcoholic drink but the drink menu looked appealing and I may try one next visit
I came here with my mom. We were supposed to meet my sister who lives in the area, but she was unable to come last minute. The food was delicious. I got the pearly bowl with couscous with tofu, and my mom got the beet and goat cheese salad with tofu. The service wasn’t the friendliest and was very slow. I hope that would improve.
Last night we tried me Fairfax. My fiancé and I were both sick quite quickly. I’m the one with celiac so to have us both get sick from a meal is quite rare in our 10 years of being together. The reason i didn’t give 1 star is because the food was really good. It was valentines so I’m not sure if the kitchen was just so slammed but some of the mistakes were egregious. She asked for tofu on the side and unfortunately we found that looked like it was sitting in the dish for quite sometime. The dish comes plain and you can add protein, so that dish likely was something that was sent back or possibly worse. As I said the food was really good so I’m really sad to write this review. We did have one good drink there but that is out of ordering a flight and 2 other cocktails. The espresso martini flight was awful. I’m not sure if it was because it was a new bartender (this was a night weeks prior with the martini flight) It was so bad that they should have offered to comp the meal. They didn’t, they only removed the item that had the old tofu in it. Again we’re really sad to write this. We live close and would love to frequent the establishment.
I am extremely sick and really wanted a soup. I have never ordered from them before but their soups looked really good although pricey. They advertised saying they are open from 9am-9pm and when I called at 3pm to place an order I was told the kitchen is closed and that was the end of the conversation. Not that they open in an hour and if you could give us a call back at that time. I ordered online since they could care less about telling me that they opened later. My ONE order of soup was scheduled to be ready at 4:45 which soup doesn’t take 45 minutes to reheat already prepared soup… the cherry on top is they charge you $15 dollars to not even fill the whole container and it was cold! Never ordering from here again.
Ms. Fairfax services Its our second time here. 3 weeks ago was Sunday and today Labor day we came i. 11:51 seated immediately at 11:52 , Menu was given 11:54 Order was taken At 12:01 Water was give at 12:48 12: 50 3 other tables orders was given but we came in first before them 12:55 we were being asked “are you guys ok” we been checked by the waitress and I told her that my pancake order and my daughter’s burger was taken 12:01 and its 12:55 already and our order is not stills delivered meanwhile the other 3 tables orders were delivered and we seated before them. 13:05 lady came back to tell me the kitchen is backed by order which is bullshit because the other 3 tables orders almost finished their food.so upsetting finally food came at 13:11 Im usually a great tipper but this place needs more people. I love to support small local businesses but will never come back in this place. then I need to leave 13:28 as I work 3 pm. Wasted my time didn’t enjoy the food because I was in a hurry. Finally food come out It took an hour and 10 minutes for a pancake, 2 egg and burger to come it. I would greatly appreciate if they just tell me that they can’t deliver out food .
