The atmosphere and energy here is so perfect! Plus (all) their beverages are 10/10!!! My first time with my family here was a 10/10 experience. Unfortunately some random dude stole and decided to walk away with my cousins latte and the staff was so friendly when we let them know about the situation. They happily made another latte for my cousin and apologized on behalf of said thief. Would recommend to everyone to stop by!! Iced dirty chai latte is amazing btw!!!

Stopped here last week for breakfast while visiting family who was in town. What a cozy, charming place. Service was great and breakfast was healthy and delicious! You have the best honey lattes you don’t get at Starbucks over here.☕️ Love the adorable seating area outside 🧂🍽️ Don’t overlook this venue if you need to grab breakfast or brunch. Come give these folks a try! ‼️

Delicious food & coffee! We came here for a late breakfast and we're impressed with the food and service. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The coffee was really delicious. The food and baked good were so good. A huge plus is that there are a ton of dogs here and there's a nice outdoor area. We came at a busy time on a Sunday and our wait was 30 mins for a party of 4, but if we didn't have a dog we would've been sat down right away. Parking was easy too. I recommend this spot!

Love this place! Their Vanilla Chia is fire and we had lunch here for the first time and the food is great too! We had a salad, sandwich, and smoothie. Atmosphere was great, this will be one of our usual spots.

Tourist from Austin, TX here - found this place by looking up coffee shops with food near the pier. I got an iced Vanilla Honey Latte and Surfers burrito & my boyfriend got an omelette. The food was delicious & comforting with a generous portion! Latte was yummy. Good spot to come hang with company, bring your laptop, or have coffee with your pup. Seating is primarily outside but they do have some indoor seating. Pricing might be a little high but we are in Cali so I wasn’t taken back. Overall, highly recommend!

Quaint, little coffee shop in the Lido area of Newport Beach. You can sit inside or outside and enjoy breakfast or lunch. I loved their huevos rancheros and carrot cake and the cozy ambiance made me feel as if I were on vacation.

This is a great coffee and lunch spot! The streets nearby are narrow and oneway, but it was easy to find (metered) parking. I went on a weekday afternoon and there were a decent amount of people here but I had no problem finding a nice table outside. The outside seating area has plenty of cover, which I really appreciate. I had a vanilla iced chai and BLT, both of which were fantastic. The only thing I would do differently is get a large chai, it was that good. I can't wait to go back and highly recommend Alta Coffee.

I’ve been going here for the past 25 years, and it just keeps getting better every time I go. You won’t find eggs or bacon or potatoes or really anything as tasty as Alta’s. Their coffee is delicious, and the atmosphere is one of the last small/cute places left. Please go here, you won’t regret it.

Went back n for a quick bite had me be of their burritos hit the spot. Not too big but just enough to fill you up. The bacon came in crispy just like I asked. The staff is friendly and restaurant is clean.

If I lived here I would be here once per week, on a weekday morning, for the 2 egg breakfast, great music, and coffee of the day!

TLDR: vegetarian approved, coffee lover approved, remote worker approved (if you have a hotspot), street parking only I came to Alta Coffee to do some remote work. I had just moved back to the area but I’d only ever been here once before maybe 10 years ago on the morning of one of my birthdays. I’m so glad I decided to check it out again and do some work here. I interacted with two workers who were so sweet. I got here a little after 1 pm so it was the woman who took my order as well as another blonde woman later on who ended up being the one to check on my table. She was incredibly sweet and made me feel welcome being there. Food and drink: I got the bueno bowl with veggie sausage and no avocado as well as an iced sugar free vanilla almond milk latte. I usually only drink soy and not always a fan of almond but I couldn’t even tell. The latte was absolutely fantastic! The bowl was soooo good. It’s the perfect size for one person. I couldn’t finish it as I just eat less than the average person but if I was hungrier, I would have easily finished it. I do fully appreciate serving breakfast all day! I’m also vegetarian so I love love love they offer multiple vegetarian options on top of having vegetarian sausage as a protein option for breakfast. Atmosphere: I sat outside in the perfect spot where I could get a little sun but still see my laptop. Keep in mind, they do NOT have wifi so I couldn’t call it the ideal remote work coffee shop compared to it being more of a place to hang out and chill but I used my phone’s hotspot. Overall cell service was pretty fast so I had no problem using my hotspot. Also, it seems as if some great people frequent there. Everyone coming in seemed so friendly but it could have to do with it being 80° by the beach in January and clear skies. Parking: It’s street parking only but during the weekday, it was super easy to pull up front and have a spot. I’m not sure about the weekends. If it were busier, like a weekend day, I wouldn’t have hung around for 3 hours so I could free up a table. I’ll definitely be back to do work or even just grab a meal or coffee.

I’ve been coming to Alta for years and it never disappoints. Today we had the chai latte and the bacon cinnamon roll—both were absolute fire. The chai was perfectly spiced, creamy, and had just the right balance of sweetness. That bacon cinnamon roll was sweet, salty, gooey, and crispy all in one bite. It’s one of those things you don’t know you need until you try it. Definitely coming back for that combo!

I was told to try a Newport Beach locals' hidden gem, Alta Coffe and Warehouse Roasting Cafe. It's off the beaten path of the main section of Newport Beach, so you may have been missing it all this time unless you frequent the neighborhood. So we stopped in for lunch and ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and the Sunrise Breakfast Sandwich off the breakfast menu, which is served all day! Their bread is freshly-made daily, so the exterior of your sandwich may change depending on the day, and you can'tever go wrong with fresh baked bread, imo. Both were excellent, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was quaint, rustic, vintage, artsy, and unique, all at the same time. If you're a local,.you know about this place, if not, try it, it's worth the stop!

Food drinks always delicious!!! But if your in a rush make sure you order ahead… it does take some time to get food, but it’s worth the wait. Staff are super friendly. The bathrooms are always well maintained. My personal favorite is the chai mix (vanilla/spice) and the lox. But… everything I have bought over the years is always been good. Street Parking is limited on the street (at the moment they are doing construction on a building across the street so they have 3-4 street parking a blocked), but there is a marking lot at the corner. Makes sure you pay for parking the bike patrol are pretty quick.

Had a great impromptu late lunch at Alta. I live that they have seating inside, seating outside under a covering, and seating in the sun with umbrellas. The options for seating was great, the service was awesome and super friendly, and my decaf hot mocha was amazing!!!! 10/10 on that alone and I went to several different coffee shops during our stay in Newport.

Just street parking available and it's just luck to find one. The place always has a short and quick line. Seating is only available for orders with food. Prices are reliable and food is very good. The coffee was better than the food, so I'll be back. I had the sunrise sandwich with ham and it was tasty. My wife had zuni soup which was nice, lots of veggies and beans.

You would never know they were a hole an wall restaurant.... Really impressed with the food ( it was delicious 😋 ). The only downside is there is no parking for the establishment, so you have to pay for parking on the street. It can be impossible to find a spot during certain times, but worth it!

The hot cocoa didn’t really taste like cocoa. The French toast and the avocado toast tasted as if they were prepared long in advance and were just warmed up and assembled on the spot. They only offered industry grade corn syrup. The service was fast and the atmosphere was nice. Overall there are probably tastier options around.

I desperately wanted to love this place but I cannot...I feel like a scrambled egg on gf toast should be without challenge. I was wrong. Firstly, they weren't scrambled but fried hard and secondly the egg shells in the eggs were a bit of a turn off. My fruit was nothing by cantaloupe and the coffee weak. My companion also had egg shells in her food and when she ordered a cortado she was brought a flat white. My companion cannot do that much dairy and when she went to speak to the young lady who took our order she stated that most people are fine with a flat white when they order a cortado. UM, what? If you don't make a cortado then say you don't make them and offer an alternative don't just service something the person did not order!

Seems like it’s gonna be so good, then it’s pretty average. Cappuccino sit down comes in a to go cup, really ruining the enjoyment factor. Breakfast burrito was a bit bland, despite getting the sauce and cheese topping. The vibes are great. The food and drink need some work.

Used to be a great coffee shop, now it’s mid. No ceramic mugs for coffee, can’t pour your own cream, and service is often unapologetically slow and disinterested. Back in the 90’s this place was coffeehouse perfection. If it only still did that, it would be great. If it updated itself to rival all the great coffee that is nearby, it would be great. As it stands, I’d skip it.

I've been coming here for 5 years. Ever since they have gained lots of traction from social media the service and quality has declined while they continue to up their prices. Ordered a 20 oz vanilla chai latte, and the drink was truly filled with ice. i had finished the drink within 5 minutes which is just absurd. If i am going to pay over 7 dollars for a drink a least make it worth my while

Mid. Even before the TikTok BS of last summer, Alta was decent at best. Now they make one of the worst watered down, bitter iced lattes I’ve ever had. And consistently. Consistently terrible. The service is uninspiring. The patio is decent on a summer day, sure. The pastries and cookies are mid. Just a dump at this point. Btw, influencers, stay in LA and it’s just big train chai mix. Buy it on Amazon. Wish I had better words for Alta but this place doesn’t need to be there anymore. Also, their tortilla chips are a travesty.

Went to Alta Coffee in hopes of it being a nice environment to get some work done on my laptop. Unfortunately it turned into having a sticky table, with no outlets/wifi, and two teenagers behind the counter talking so loudly about their drunken night out the night before. Then midway they turned the music up so loud I could hear it through my noise canceling headphones! I don’t usually leave reviews and didn’t want to sound like a “Karen” but it was a mids experience that I felt the need that other first customers like myself could get an insight of. Will have to try another local coffee shop next time.

Today was our second time to Alta- we had come a couple years ago and it was such a cute, quaint, somewhat hidden coffee shop that had a sf wharf/garden vibes feel to it. Today we stopped by and it was a completely different experience- the staff was not welcoming, nor nice, the chai latte was disgusting and so so so sweet- seemed like a powder mix for $7 a drink. Overpriced and VERY sub-par- I recommend to everyone to go checkout a different coffee shop north or south from there. They seemed very “business minded” and dont care about customers coming back and for that price I can go elsewhere. Also merry day after christmas.

I came in, got in line, got my order, picked a seat that was available. However, a lady made us move after bringing us our order, she moved us to the back corner. It wasn’t a question or request to move us back, it was a “friendly” demand. That table that got cleared of course did not got occupied at anytime. I don’t quite get the intention of this move but sure it was embarrassing, uncomfortable and very unnecessary. Sadly here is a bad review to a place I really like.

Decided to try this place out for the first time. Ordered for pickup, Hot Candy Cane Mocha which was just a regular coffee, and a Turkey and Cranberry Wrap and got a Turkey BLT instead. $25 on a fail.

I can't speak for anything other then the quality of the espresso. I went with a group of 5 girlfriends. 4 of us got an iced coffee of various flavors/types. All 4 coffees were terrible. Bitter, sour and went straight into the trash. We unfortunately did not realize how terrible they were until we had already gotten in the car and were headed out of town and did not have time to go back and request they be remade. But for a coffee shop to get all 4 of 4 coffees ordered made poorly there needs to be some better training for the Barista staff.
