Such a gem! There was a lovely 82 year old behind us celebrating her birthday. She used to work there when it was a bank. The bar was the tellers location and they still have the vault! Pretty cool place and the food and service didn’t disappoint!! We shared the Skoat Rolls -BBQ Brisket, Cheddar Cheese, Roasted Jalapeños in an Egg Roll, Fried Brussel sprouts with loads of bacon, and the Crispy chicken sandwhich-Buttermilk Brined Chicken, Brioche Bun, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Onion, Chipotle Mayo. We made it Nashville hot!🔥 Can’t wait to go back when we come through town again to try more items. Everything was great. Not your typical bar food. Homemade right down to the pickles. Then we took a night walk in the memorial park. We will be back!
We had a wonderful experience here for lunch on Halloween. The staff was kind and made helpful suggestions. Our food was delicious. The goatballs, bankers burger, and PB pie were all perfect! The tomato bisque was adorably decorated with a pesto BOO! We saw the sign on the highway and are thankful we took the detour. This is a place not to miss. The decor inside is the perfect balance of intriguing and homey. Only recommendation is more comfortable chairs but the half booths are great. We hope to return next time we pass through that way.
Cute little bar/pub with delicious food ! The burgers looked amazing & we had two apps. The rolls were excellent.
Stopped by for dinner while passing through on a road trip...felt like we found a hidden gem. The food was delicious and the place was cool. It was in an old bank building with a big vault in the back. Food was elevated...not typical bar food. I loved my salmon. Would definitely recommend.
What a great find. Unique decor. Friendly and welcoming. Large menu selection. Recommendations from our waitress was spot-on. The goat balls exceeded our expectations and the crabcakes were equally impressive.
Damn this is some good food. Pretzel bites fluffy and delicious Wedge salad amazing (bacon crisps perfect) Black and bleu burger mouthwatering delicious Short rib falls apart and even the carrots were amazing
Do not let the unique name scare you. This was a wonderful experience . We visited for a late lunch on a Tuesday. We were immediately seated and had the most fantastic waitress, Sienna. We ordered the fish and chips and the Reuben sandwich. Fish was cooked perfectly. The outside was crispy and the inside was still moist and flavorful. The tartar sauce they included appears to be homemade, and tasted wonderful. The reuben sandwich had just the right proportions of meat and sauerkraut and sauce. We were very impressed with all the food. Given that we were late for the lunch rush we were able to pull right into the parking lot beside the building and park. I would really like to try their brunch on my next visit.
What a perfect place to have a great meal! We ate outside and the location was great! We enjoyed their raspberry margaritas and our chicken sandwiches were delicious! We also shared the shrimp and it was yummy! Saw many things on the menu that looked equally delicious! Our server was so nice and she was very attentive.
Passing through on vacation and stopped for lunch. Very unique interior and clean. Service was also great! On 5/13 at lunchtime, only one woman was present and she was waiting all the tables and also bartending by herself and still managed to give us fast service. Food was very yummy! Loved the vault door.
Updated 2/2026: We frequently eat at the S&G when in the area. The food is always delicious, staff warm and friendly. We have never been disappointed. It is highly recommended that you make reservations if planning to go over the weekend, it gets busy. Nice atmosphere, good service and food was delicious. Ask to have the skunk visit your table.
This was our first time eating here, and it was delicious. It doesn't look like a very large space from outside, but there were able to accommodate our family of 25 with plenty of room for everyone. The fried green tomatoes were bomb! Fried pickles...bomb! Basically everything we tried was awesome.
Update after original review below: Was traveling through the area with a coworker this time and he was up for lunch here. We stopped in for lunch. Pierogi appetizers and a Reuben Sandwich made for a perfect meal before heading on to NY Original I was doing some work in Ohio and then on to Erie. One of my favorite places in Ohio was closed by the time I finished the project so I grabbed a snack to hold me over and searched for restaurants near my hotel in PA and started the trip. The Skunk & Goat popped up and had good reviews. After the long drive I was hungry but really wanted to rest. I got to my hotel and placed an online order of Shrimp & Sausage Rigatoni and Side Fried Brussels Sprouts. Picked it up and had a really nice meal. I really wanted to see the inside so the next day after I finished work at the customers site, I went back and had a really nice lunch of Beef on Weck.
Keelia was my Server and I had the Banker Burger with Fries and Water, No Ice & Lemon. The hamburger was really good and big but not messy to eat. It had a unique taste due to some of its unique ingredients. I was advised not to order the coleslaw because no one likes it! With that said, consult with your server about the other sides available on the menu. The restaurant used to be a bank and it has a dining area inside of the original area of the vault. They sell some really nice food items to go as well as cool memorabilia. The bar has a nice setup if you want to dine, drink, and watch sports or a movie. The bathrooms are clean and actually have very soap and very hot running water and not the automated crap like a lot of establishments which was a very refreshing experience! Keelia was very pleasant, friendly, courteous and provided awesome customer service. Most importantly, she was very honest and transparent about the menu items which afforded me a phenomenal dining experience! It is definitely a popular spot with the locals and their children. I drove 7.5 miles off of I-86 West to dine here and I am glad that I did. I will definitely visit again when I am in the area... Kudos to Keelia!
Amazing experience thr vibe in here is wonderful. Service was fantastic. The food is well crafted and thought out. We had four guest and a range of options not a bad meal in sight. I would highly recommend this place for out of the road to dine here.
We stopped here on our way to Niagara Falls. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered fish and chips and a pulled pork sandwich and pretzels for an appetizer. The fish was enormous, well seasoned and beer battered. The pulled pork was topped with coleslaw for an added crunch such a good combination. The pretzels had beer cheese and a mustard based dipping sauce that was next level flavor. Definitely a great find in this quaint little town on Lake Erie.
I loved the atmosphere, and the food was pretty good also. Our server Cayla did a great job, and I definitively will be back.
I sincerely recommend this place if you are ever in the area! We stopped there on our way home from Niagara Falls, and we were amazed by the service and food quality. I enjoyed every meal we ordered. Everything was fresh and tasted really delicious. Customer service was quick and very friendly. Place has an indoor and outdoor sitting area. I loved the design and details. And I never saw such a cute restroom, haha. I can tell they truly put their best efforts to keep this place as awesome as it is. Thank you. I hope to visit again!
This place is a MUST if you are in the area! First, the place is in an old bank! They did an amazing job turning it into a restaurant! In fact, they turned the bank vault into a room to dine in...beautifully done!! The food was fantastic! Atmosphere, well, you just have to stop in to experience it for yourself! Top notch! Glad we stopped by on the recommendation of our friends!
Good environment. Great service. Good food. The pretzel bites, loaded tater tots(with pork), and flat bread pizza were good starters. Dinner items were good as well. Homemade desserts - pizza cookie and peanut butter pie were delish. Happy to have found this place as good options are limited in Erie.
I had a fantastic dinner at Skunk & Goat while passing through town. The cocktails and the cocktail list were great! The burger was fantastic as well. I'll definitely return next time I'm in the area.
When my husband chose to stop on our way home to Ohio, I didn't know what to expect. This place was above and beyond. The food and drinks were amazing! Firecrack Shrimp Lo Mein was completely amazing, and my husband had the Bruscetta Salmon. Just a very "wow" restaurant.
Insanely popular place not just for normal dining, but for large party gatherings as well. They live up to their name inside the restaurant as well as the outside; if it ever gets too cold theres large beautiful heaters that don’t intrude on the dining experience to keep you engaged with your meal! Every aspect from the restaurant to the food is just amazing. We tried 2 different appetizers: the pretzel bites were very soft and had just the right amount of salt, and the firecracker shrimp wasn’t too strong where everyone can enjoy it. The chicken was very juicy and not dry, paired with the mixed vegetables, it gave it a very well blended flavor and smelled delicious! The mushroom swiss burger was served with a deep frying pan that gave it a unique look to the dish, and this definitely did not disappoint. We finished everything off with a very well presented mousse cake and even a complimentary brownie cake/vanilla ice cream on the house for one of our birthdays! All around this is a place you don’t ever want to overlook or miss…. And let me just say its worth the travel for it as well!
Had the maple salmon. Honestly the best meal I've had in a long time. Stopped in on a whim. We're in town celebrating our anniversary and exploring. Cocktails were yummy. Food was amazing. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere was fun. Hubby loved his burger as well.
5 stars isn't enough. Super yummy breakfast, hot coffee, friendly service, beautiful establishment inside and out. Well worth my 100 mile to there motorcycle ride. Plenty of seating and parking. Will be back again soon.
Staff was very friendly and polite, my martini was crisp, dry and just the right amount of olive juice, we got an appetizer called the caprese ricotta which was a flavor explosion of sundried tomato, ricotta, and balsamic glaze with mini pita bites. My husband got a tender and juicy prime rib with a sharp and spicy horseradish sauce which he enjoyed. I got their shrimp lo mein which had the most unique and amazing sauce. Portions were large and we had enough to put in to go boxes after eating our fill. We finished off by sharing a creme brulee which was creamy and sweet. Atmosphere was very rustic yet new age in its own way. 10/10 experience!
The fiery shrimp lo mein is amazing. The service was also top-notch. He was attentive, friendly, and made my friends birthday dinner even more special for her with the sparkly brownie. It was excellent and much appreciated.
Food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. Fries were perfect & everything we had was amazing. A really lovely spot! Wish I lived closer to go again!
This is an amazing place to stop and eat while visiting downtown North East, PA. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the place has amazing architecture (it is in the old bank, even utilizing the vault as a banquet room). The roast beef was done to perfection and piled high on the sandwich. The horseradish sauce was just right, and the fries cooked perfect. The chef did an awesome job. We will definitely be stopping here to eat again.
Great place to have a wonderful dinner. We ate inside the restaurant however outdoor tables were available. We had a wonderful time remembering our college days. The food is outstanding. I ordered a hamburger with baked potato. Lisa ordered a Cobb salad and Cheryl ordered the pasta. The food is outstanding. Great place to have a wonderful dinner.
We were there 6 years ago And stopped in for lunch again. It is in an old bank. You can even dine in the old bank vault. We were seated immediately and received our meals quickly of a huge piece of cod and a steak sandwich. Salad and Cole slaw was also delicious. I hope to be back sooner. Thanks
This place was recommended by our hotel staff, and it didn't disappoint! We had just come from a "restaurant " that completely ignored us when we came in, and we walked out after 5 minutes. They were not busy! When we got to the Skunkb and Goat, we were delighted to be greeted warmly and seated quickly. Our waitress was wonderful but I can't remember her name! We visited Monday, October 6th, around 6 if that's helpful! My husband got swordfish which he raved over. I got a burger which was also excellent!! We plan to come again!
The Skunk and Goat Tavern’s burger was huge and insane. Like, stupid big. It showed up and immediately felt like a bad idea—and a great one. Somehow, it still tasted really good. Not messy for the sake of it. The meat was cooked right, the bun held together, and everything actually worked. No weird overload, no filler—just a massive burger that knew what it was doing. Bluntly: it was too big, really well made, and worth it. One of those burgers you finish and think, yeah, that was excessive… but correct.
We are visiting from Houston, Texas and are here for dinner one night after a day of fishing. Delicious is an understatement! Everyone with us LOVED the food and we all ordered something different! The waitress, Kalie, was so friendly as well! I 100% recommend this restaurant.
We loved everything about this place.... so much so, that we made a reservation for when we drive back home in about 10 days. Where to begin..... it's a lovely place that feels inviting, calm and left us feeling very comfortable. We had a drink at the bar while our food was being prepared for take out. Just being there, made me happy. That in itself is pretty special. When we did get back to our hotel and tried the food it was really fabulous. I had the berry salad with the steak and my boyfriend had French onion soup and some mac & cheese. Everything was just perfect. I can't think of a better dining experience except for actually eating at the restaurant when we return next Wednesday. Thank you for this wonderful dining experience.
Were spending the night at a local motel and saw this on the map, so we decided to eat Breakfast here. So totally cool place. Loved the decor and the way it was designed. There was also an electric train that went around the dining area. Nice and cozy atmosphere. Food was incredible for a decent price.
The atmosphere is amazing and the staff were incredible. One of the few top quality experiences with wait staff we have had while out. The food is good and priced fair. Highly recommend. My only complaint is lack of parking, but that is no fault of Skunk and Goat.
Friendly, fast service. The food was delicious! The firecracker shrimp were perfectly cooked and the sauce was fantastic 👌. The brisket egg rolls had a bit of heat and were soooo crunchy!! I have new expectations when it comes to the crunch on my egg rolls now from here on out. 😉 I would have posted pictures, but it all looked and tasted so good I dug in, and didn't want to waste the time to pull out my phone! 😆 All around great experience. Thanks again!
We LOVE the Skunk and Goat, it’s our happy place! That’s why we try to go once a week. The food is great, the atmosphere is comfortable and we love sitting at the bar watching Cori make her “masterpieces”! Breakfast is the bomb also! Can’t go wrong! 🦨 & 🐐
Skunk and goat is on the main square in Northeast PA. The food took some time to arrive. Service was slow not because of the waitress but too few of them. A small menu. Shake was good as well as drinks. French Onion Soup was tasty. Nashville hot chicken was ok. Not that spicy. Macaroni and cheese side was not very good. Seemed like from a box. Fish was tasty.
10/2/25: We came to the Skunk as it was recommended by our Hotel Front Desk clerk. We were both over-hungry so we had high expectations. They were met! I was lucky enough to get a parking spot right in front of the restaurant! Good start, right?! Walked in to a neat atmosphere- very tavern like. Love the decor! They’re kid-friendly as well saw several tables with children at them. Music was playing, sometimes a little loud as we had to keep repeating ourselves. I ordered a medium NY strip (perfectly cooked!) and my hubby ordered the Bolognese. He had the cheesecake for dessert. Scrumptious, all! They need more options for people on restrictive diets. They have GF buns,, but I didn’t want a burger tonight. The stir fry uses soy (I cannot have) and there was sugar in a lot of other food choices. Maybe offer sweet potato fries as an alternative to potatoes?
We stopped in for lunch, and it is really quaint. The interior is beautiful. The staff was great. Our server was very attentive. The macaroni and barbecue was really delicious. The pretzel bites were great. The Philly cheesesteak lacked flavor. Really pretty bland. The fries are great! Overall, it was ok, but I was disappointed with the price for the sandwich for the high price point.
Nice lunch stop while in wine country. Outside seating was very nice. Good food. Mac & cheese and chicken sandwiches rated highly. Corned beef sandwich was just okay. Service was fine but nothing stood out.
Food was amazing ! Super cute place to eat a lot of fun stuff everywhere.
Quality of the food was good and the service was great, but I was disappointed in the limited menu. It's a beautiful space and decorated for the season. 2023 Update: we kept hearing from friends how much they liked this place, so Mom & I decided to try again. The food was great, and they do have more options. We had the smoked brisket beef sandwich- I was grateful it could be served without the slaw. It was darned good! Servers on staff today were great as well. I tried the strawberry lime mocktail and it wasn’t as sweet as I imagined it would be.
First time we went it would have been 5 stars but second time was a 3 star. Same food ordered but tasted much better on first visit. Pulled pork sandwiches with fries. Appetizers are good but small and pricey. Ill give em another shot.
Everyone besides our actual server seemed pretty nice. Our server did not seem too thrilled to be there. The food was alright, but not great. The burgers seemed to be good quality, but the flavor profile was a bit ambiguous. They could do a better job bringing out the flavors with more distinct flavors sauces. The desserts were of a similar vain, not amazing but decent.
Nice place ,excellent service , food food . Cool places inside. Had an apple pie mule ...could have been stronger but very tasty ! But her was good , not option for rare ,medium or well. Mac and cheese was creamy and had a good taste. Would like chicken wings added to menu . Also , they have boozy milk shakes but if you do not notice it wtitten on the wall , it is not written on menu. All in all ...place is a good choice.
First time visiting, nice feeling when walking in. Great selection of seasonal cocktails and several food options to choose from. Very disappointed in the cherry jalapeños wings - the wings were fresh, but that's all the good I can give them. Also, the firecracker shrimp let me down. The brownie was amazing! Our napkins were cloth dish towels and smelled like it too. Otherwise, the rigatoni and chicken afredo meals were really good. Sitting down a while, the atmosphere and overall mood was 'meh'. I don't regret going, but it won't be my idea to go if I ever end up back there.
Had a friend visiting from out of town and found ourselves in North East in between lunch and dinner. I had heard about this restaurant but had never visited and figured it was a good opportunity. Upon walking inside it felt comfortable and had a good look and decor. We ended up sitting at the bar which was empty as was much of the dining area since it was between meals. Everything seemed clean and bar service was quick. Our orders were taken and returned pretty fast. The food was presented well but unfortunately lacked much flavor. We had brisket and beef and both entrees were bland and lacking. May give it another try sometime but won't be in any hurry to do so.
We really loved the atmosphere and the drinks, they had a delicious cider and house ale. The food was well-presented. However, it had almost no flavor, very plain. The fries were good though. I had the mac n’ cheese panini with the side Caesar salad. Caesar dressing was almost non-existent and flavorless. The sandwich was quite plain, I couldn’t even taste the chicken or bacon. We really wanted to like this place because we love locally-owned establishments, but probably won’t return :(
