Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is a popular spot known for its entertaining hibachi chefs and flavorful food. Many reviewers highlight the great service and clean environment. Some find the atmosphere lacking or the fried rice inconsistent, but overall, it's a well-regarded experience.

Tip: Ask for two sauce cups, as the portions are small. Consider the $25 endless sushi menu for a good value.

So gooooood!!! First of all to have someone cook in front of you is so nice and not having to worry about someone messing with your food is even better!! The food was amazing!! Even all the veggies were so full of flavor! The chief cooking for our group was so funny and sweet! He did an entire comedy skit for my little one while cooking! It's also such a chill spot !
Our food was great! The chef was funny, entertaining and cooked well. The only complaint I have is that the seatng of the table is overcrowded and there's not much room between people. Also they don't offer Coke products only Pepsi. It was a great experience so we'll be going back someday.
It’s so scrumptious, toe curling, mouth watering, I’m gooing to the fried rice 😍😍😍😍😍😍 the chefs are so funny, every time I eat the fried rice with teriyaki sauce, I fly up to where Zeus is and do a 10 minute ballet dance, high five him then fly back down and give my first born child to the founder of this restaurant 10000000/10
My new favorite place when coming to San Antonio. They had exceptional service the steak was phenomenal the Rice was delicious but my favorite is the salad I don’t know what it is about the dressing. I lost my retainers they had already made it to the trash before I noticed they were gone they helped me find them. All around really good people!!
This has become our family's favorite restaurant in the area. The waiters and waitresses are always very attentive, kind, and quick. The food is delicious and has wide appeal. Even my daughters of varying ages love many items on the all-you-can-eat menu. I always value a good deal and even with the prices being where they are, it has always been worth the money!
Always have a great experience eating here, service is 10/10 and i never have to wait long for drinks, food, etc. Absolutely love this restaurant!!
Great Chef made my spicy calamari perfect! Been too alot of big chain Japanese steak houses and would put this Chef against any of the others. This place is off the beaten path and more a local place. But great menu selection not many have calamari steak. Don't expect this to be a Bennihana. Great food, and great service and reasonable prices.
Great food and service. Not as cramped as the other places make you sit. Will be coming back
Great show and even better food. You do not get to choose the chef but it was wonderful! I got the noodles with chicken shrimp and beef. Everything was cooked to perfection! Like all hibachis the show was very entertaining. I will add that this place is very affordable compared to other hibachi places nearby. Totally going to eat here again soon. P.S. great date night spot!
Great place. The chef was very good and funny. Truly the highlight of the afternoon. It was just a dinner out of the blue. Something different as we wrapped Christmas break for the kids. They had fun as much as a 12 and 13 old could have. The food and service was great. Try it out you won't be disappointed. Never judge a book by its cover . Remember that when you pull up. Thank you
Absolutely one of the best japanese steakhouses in San Antonio. The food was delicious, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. I meant to take a photo, but it was so good I forgot to. Our chef was funny and super charismatic, and the rest of the staff were fantastic and very attentive. I feel like I've missed out by not finding this place sooner. Definitely a gem of a spot. 100% worth the visit if you haven't been here yet!
Outstanding Japanese Steakhouse with great service and even better food. The chef's are all very entertaining and outstanding cooks. Prices are extremely reasonable for what is included. Other Japanese steakhouses in the area easily charge $20 more per plate for the same items. Highly recommend the place.
Had a great time, if you order double rice make sure your hungry it’s a lot of food which is great.
Enjoyed my son and grandsons birthday everyone was very nice and attentive the food was good the vegetables could of been cooked a little more
This was a great experience. The food was great. The service was great.
I love the choo choo train he does with the onion, and the rice is a large portion. If you need that large filling to go plate it really is cool to stop here and breathe.
Good spot. My wife and I met one of our classmates there. He actually recommended it. The hibachi chef was great and funny. It's always good to have knew that you can tell lives what they do. Filet, shrimp, chicken and beef was ordered. It was good that I forgot to take a photo of the food....lol
We have visited this restaurant the last two years when we vacation in San Antonio. This year we actually went twice because the Mexican restaurant behind it was NOT good and we were starving so we decided 2 days of sushi was fine. Aside from the fact that they automatically charged 20 percent gratuity just because it was Valentine's Day we were very happy with our food and service. The server was very polite and kept our drinks refilled. The food is and the portions are good sized. We have never had to wait a crazy amount of time for our order to come out either.
Recently my family and I went to this location. The food was great and delivered with excellent customer service. There was no wait on what felt like a busy Friday everywhere else. I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate with double fried rice. I believe my meal was about 25 dollars including the drinks I had. I was happy to be able to purchase Japanese beers that aren’t typically served everywhere else. I ordered one Sapporo beer and a Kirin Ichiban. Both of these were refreshing and served at a cold temperature. I am an avid hibachi eater, and Kobe Steakhouse has been in my favorites since my first time going. The service was great from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The soup and salad you get with the dinner portion were great. Right after I finished my soup, my main course fried rice was just finished by our hibachi chef. The rice was made to perfection in probably the fastest time ever in my hibachi experience. After the rice was made and dispersed, next was the proteins for everyone. The chicken with the teriyaki sauce was amazing. And for about $20-30 per person this meal was a great bargain, I will definitely continue to keep coming back!
Cute place, great flavor on everything we tried. I had the Habachi New York Steak and hubby did the Teriyaki Chicken. Very entertaining, fast service, fresh ingredients, alcohol available, and large food portions. I enjoyed the ginger salad dressing so much that I bought extra to take home. I highly recommend this little gem. Check it out today!
I absolutely loved this place so much!!! The server recommended some amazing dishes for my first time coming here. There was nothing that I didn’t enjoy!! I got the ribeye and it was so delicious and juicy, the eagle sushi was the best sushi I’ve ever had, and the starter soup and salad was amazing!! I’m definitely coming back, highly recommend everything was so delicious!!
Kobe was good! We didn’t get the show at the fancy table, but we did enjoy some hibachi chicken! The rice was good, and so were the veggies. Not the biggest portion I’ve ever had in my life, but it was plenty! The sauce came in a little to go cup, so you might want to go ahead and ask for two.
Best place ever , great customer service it's always clean and the food is always great

Love this place. The $25 endless sushi menu has all you can eat soups, appetizers like edamame, fried rice side and much more. Definitely recommend the shaggy dog roll.

Amazing ! Great service and food was outstanding! Our chef was really nice and he made the night very enjoyable.

Love this place! Great food and service! Definitely need to go if you are in San Antonio!!!

For hibachi this place was good. Fair warning, for the atmosphere and quality the prices are rather spendy. My steak was mostly fat and for a family of four it was 120$ so it’s spendy. The show was decent so if you’re dying for hibachi this was a good fit in but I feel it could definitely be better
It was a bit too warm inside and had mediocre appeal. The hostess & waiter were pleasant, but the wait time for a hibachi chef was ridiculously long. They're short staffed. So make sure you have time to wait around for awhile. The food tasted okay and the price and portion were decent.
Nice little place to enjoy some hibachi. Salad has a nice peppery taste to it but the broth was a bit basic. Overall, food prep is the same as any other place. However, the taste was on point, and the portion size to share was enough to enjoy as a couple. The place has a nice little karaoke feel to it as the music in the background played some interesting remix songs. Price was reasonably fair for the filet mignon and chicken teriyaki.
Food was good and plenty. They were considerate, without being asked, about shellfish allergy (prepared in back). My only real complaint was that the chairs are a bit too short for the table and that they would slide around on the floor. Both of these posed a fall hazard (especially for little guests).
It was fine. I’ll admit, I didn’t read the kids menu in its entirety. I automatically assumed it would come with vegetables, but I was wrong. The kids meal comes with soup, steamed rice and the protein. My grandkids didn’t like the soup. I wish I could’ve picked if I wanted the soup or vegetables.
The food was okay. Me and my wife odrered the chicken and steak. I had noodles she had rice. The noodles and rice were done perfect. I think it would have been better if we came earlier. We dined when it was almost closing time. The chef was still patient and funny. The steak was a little salty but still edible. The chicken was tender and cooked superb. We'll go back just early in the day.
My family and I had a surprise dinner for my mother in law a few weeks ago, and we had a great time with our chef (unfortunately I can't remember his name). He was very charismatic, funny and genuine, and he made all 17 of our plates delicious! My only issue with the restaurant as a whole is the menu pricing ($7 for two cheese rolls is outrageous) and the overall look of the place. My husband thought we drove to the wrong restaurant because the outside is a bit dingy. The inside isn't terrible, but could definitely use some updating. The music they played all night was early 2000s R&B and it was a hit with us, so kudos to Kobe for the great playlist!
Great food, fast and friendly service. Not sure I like the disposable plates, silverware, serving containers, and cups. For the price I would expect real dinnerware - this is the first restaurant I've been too that has served this way since last March. I understand curbside but we dined in.
First, this was a fun birthday dinner for our family of 11. This was the first hibachi experience for my niece and nephew and they were blown away. The food was good, the filet mignon was amazing! Our fried rice was a little crunchy. Those that ordered sushi really enjoyed their rolls. The one thing that could have put a damper on the night was being forced into ordering hibachi. I asked when we first got there if they had a table for 11 and we were told they had a hibachi table that could seat up to 15. Nobody said that at least half of us had to order hibachi. I get it, that's why you get the hibachi table. It turned out fine and everyone enjoyed the show and their food, but several people had to change orders. Just know that if less than half of your party wants hibachi, don't sit at a hibachi table. If everyone wants hibachi, this is a good place to enjoy dinner and a show.
Don't let the exterior fool you! This place is great. Amazing service and really good food!
Food is delicious!! Service is wonderful when I went. The only thing me and my partner didn't like was it was a little stuffy there and the people they sat us with. We were kinda hoping to have our own table..but other than that, it was nice
Japanese food is my ultimate favorite. I came to this restaurant based on my craving and I came without a reservation. I couldn't get a table with the chef, I think it was late when I arrived. Anywho, the server was able to seat us and I ordered the NY Steak Plate. The food was prompt , hot and tasty. I'm definitely trying the hibachi chef cooking in front us next time!
We really enjoyed William, our chief from MexicoCity. He and the staff there were very carefull to address my wife's food allergies. the meal was great. fried rice was almost perfect and my wife loved the shrimp. the steak was thick cut and cooked to a perfect med rare, and, as you know, that is often hard to find. the onion soup was so good that my wife took mine. but the deep fried Philly roll was not very tasty and alittle under fried and the salid was just ok. again, my wife was very impressed with William and his attention to her food allrrgies. the atmosphere was very well kept with the lighting and decor
Hibachi is so expensive but their meats are so flavorful and juicy. I love the filet mignon and steak they were tender and full of flavor! The shrimp and lobster were perfectly cooked and well seas…
Filet Mignon, Lobster Tail + Shrimp were amazing!!! Chef KC did such an awesome job!!!\nMy only complaint was our fried rice was a bit hard but other than that everything was delicious.
You are paying for several things here ~ a meal, an experience and entertainment! We took our family of 3 adults and 3 children (9yrs & 6 yrs) for the experience of cooking in front of you ! It did…
First time visit to this place and I have to say I wasn't too thrilled with the service. We got seated quick at a table (not the grill area) but waited an awfully long time to see a server. For the prices they charge, service should be on par but it looked like they were either understaffed or just didn't care. Either way, we had struck out at two other restaurants and this was the furthest we had gone in any of them. When we finally placed our order, we got our beverages fast and got the first half of our hibachi meal which was a salad (which seemed out of place) and onion beef soup. The dressing on the salad was good (don't know what it was) n the soup was just so-so (had better at another restaurant). When the actual entree arrived, it looked very good and smelled delicious. I had ordered the chicken n shrimp with fried rice and my wife got the chicken with ribeye. The meats n veggies were good... can't complain. The rice however was just not what I expected. It was fried don't get me wrong but it was just plain rice. The only way it tasted ok was when I mixed it with the meat and veggies. Overall the service was not good (if you're sitting at a table and not the grill) and the food was just "okay" for being a Japanese steak house. I've had better elsewhere.
We ordered takeout. The food was awesome! However, my husband said make sure you ask for enough soy sauce and wasbi. We ordered a lot of food. I asked when I arrived to pick up our order for 3 people. Is there enough soy and wasbi? The staff said Yes. We ordered chicken fried rice, tenderloin fried rice, an order of sushi, shrimp tempura, and something else I can't remember. We get to my godmother's to eat. We layout all of the food. Only find two small packets of soy sauce. The packets were the size of a small ketchup packet. Disappointed 😞
We ordered combo meals: rib-eye steak with chicken & rib-eye steak with scallops. The chicken & scallops were cooked to perfection & melted in your mouth. However, the steak looked & tasted like a NY Stip, not a rib-eye. It was tough had did have any of the juicy, robust taste
I've been to this location twice. First time order filet mignon, medium rare and scallops. Filet mignon was overcooked, scallops fine. Most recently I ordered the ribeye rare as they can't cook filet mignon correctly, why pay for it. The ribeye was good but doused with teriyaki sauce. I did not order it this way and was told it was steak sause... Other diners saw this issue coming (adding teriyaki sauce) and it was corrected. My order was not remade or apology provided. Limited wine selection. They seem to be on autopilot.... Be careful and be clear what you order.
Service was slow and the server was not very friendly and very forgetful. The cook was not good - grill was too hot. Tables were overcrowded
The hibachi chef was very good and we appriciate that he did extra for the kids, the food was ok but it seemed like the sauces were watered down and "off" not necessarily bad but were just off from the flavors we were expecting. Over all not too bad for what we paid but not exactly what we were expecting
The experience was fun and entertaining. The beef was delicious! I could eat that all day along with the ginger salad. The rice, on the other hand, was very disappointing. The appetizer rice was stale and tasted old, and the egg rolls were cold. We returned the appetizer rice, and what they brought back was 10 times better. Thank you. The hibachi rice was very crunchy. The flavor was great, but the texture was off.
Went their for valentines and they did a great job with attentive service and wait staff but the food was not as it used to be. We dinned in. Food was too salty. We ordered the hibachi lunch corse. One of my favorites has always been the famous ginger dressing on the salad but this one was not made correctly. It was too sweet and didn't even have the nice orange color I'm used to. Then the yum yum sauce was also too sweet and did taste right.
Food was great and the chef that was cooking was phenomenal! Could not get better in my opinion. The part that was lacking was the regular server, he seemed to have an attitude towards us all night and wasn’t very timely on getting our drinks. Also another thing, if you go and it’s raining bring an umbrella. You WILL get wet. The ceiling was leaking everywhere. But on the other hand the food and the chef were amazing and I would probably go again as long as it’s not raining haha
The food was great, the prices were ridiculous as you can see by the snapshot I posted. The meal was for 5 and no specials was ordered. Hidden tips are included in the bill/ so unless you want to add an extra tip I suggest you don’t. The 3 stars was only for the taste/The health and welfare of the restaurant is a total failure. But don’t take my word for it!
Kevin and Sergio are about the only good cooks there. The only SERVER with good customer service is Helen. Sorry not sorry but i do not tip rude servers and most of the guy servers there are rude for no reason. Smells like Raid in there like the roach spray. Kinda sucks because my family and i have been coming here for years to where we even know the owner, Norman. Our server today (01-13-26) was extremely rude and kept forgetting our things and still proceeded to tell my little sisters “thanks for nothing” as they were going towards the door. Like duh, maybe if you treated us differently and had better customer service, you could’ve gotten tipped soo too bad so sad for you buddy.
Our chef was entertaining. The recipes were ok. Both steaks were very overcooked and the sauces lacked flavor. Where this place really gets knocked is its cleanliness. The baseboards looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since 2002. The vents and ac were not working and it was very hot. The whole restaurant was Smokey and the atmosphere was down right bad. The server and chef were both polite but management seemed to have dropped the ball with this restaurant.
Went here to celebrate a birthday and because I don't think over ever been to a habachi grill. Portions are huge, but if you share it will be an extra charge. The chef was very entertaining but the food was okay, very salty , we tried the shrimp, steak, and Chicken. They all tasted the same. I would definitely not eat this on a regular basis. But I can see what draws people in.
I'm giving it 3 stars because it wasn't horrible, but it also wasn't enjoyable. Got seated relatively quickly, but the food lacked any flavor. Soup was meh. fried rice was meh. My chicken was meh. …
I’m not one to usually talk badly about a place, but me and my family all ordered the same dish and one was served almost completely raw. I ordered medium rare and it was easily blue rare :(
The food is decent, but the rice and vegetables aren't cooked long enough. The portions are big. However, the atmosphere is horrible; upon entering, there's a pungent smell of fish and dirty water from the pond, giving the impression of uncleanliness. They use church chairs as dining chairs. I'm giving two stars solely because the server was pleasant and went above and beyond. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't eat here again unless they did a deep clean and replaced the water from the pond at the entrance.
First time having hibachi in San Antonio and we came here. It was a very odd experience.. they were playing 90s pop the whole time which just gave it a weird vibe the whole time. Our cook was very soft spoken and hard to hear. I’m guessing he was new because he made a lot of mistakes and not very engaging. The salad dressing wasn’t very good and their yum yum sauce is a very pale color and super sweet. Not the usual savory, tangy with a hint of sweet most are used to. I love yum yum sauce but I couldn’t eat that one, it was gross. Once our food is cooked, the meat is very chewy, but also hard and over cooked on one side from sitting so long on the heat while the other meats were cooked. It left burnt meat marks on the grill when he finally moved it to cook it. Maybe the extremely overcooked burnt bits is what gave it such a bad flavor, but it wasn’t good. Just lacked that delicious hibachi flavor. My daughter wouldn’t eat hers either. The sushi was good though! We got the spicy eel and Hawaiian one. It was a very expensive dinner for us to not even be able to eat it. We will not return to this particular restaurant. It was a one and done for me.
Me and my family have been coming here for a very long time to the point where we know the owner and some of the staff. We really had no problem with any staff until today. The waiter who doesn’t wear glasses and is scrawny and short had a bad attitude. Since we walked in , he didn’t greet us but went straight into what we wanted to drink. He then proceeded to give attitude to my mom and forgot her extra cup of ice . She gets that everytime we come , He knows who we are. He rarely checked up on us , maybe only once. Once we were heading out , It was me and my friend who left last . My mom and sister were already outside , When we (me and friend) had paid He walked back to our table and we walked past each other when he said “ Thank you for nothing. ” With a sarcastic tone , we just laughed it off and left. He needs to find other employment if he doesn’t like it there anymore.
I visited Kobe Steakhouse twice at two different locations and had the same core issue both times which is disappointing given the price point. San Marcos location first. Sunday evening was relaxed and enjoyable. My server Mia was outstanding kind attentive and professional. The staff overall was great and the experience would have been excellent except for the food. My shrimp steak and chicken were cooked fine but completely covered in teriyaki sauce that I did not request and did not see clearly stated on the menu. I mentioned it to Mia and she apologized even though it was not her fault at all. Unfortunately the sauce overwhelmed everything and ruined the meal for me. A few weeks later I visited the San Antonio location on Christmas Day with my daughter. I wanted the night to be special so I did not complain but the food quality was noticeably worse. Once again teriyaki sauce was added without being asked. The fried rice was especially disappointing very little egg very few vegetables and overall low quality. The biggest issue is consistency and communication. At this price point guests should be asked if they want teriyaki on their protein. I cannot fairly judge the food itself because it has not been served the way I order it. Across both locations the service was good but the food execution and attention to preference were lacking.
The worst ramen I have ever had. Beyond disgusting I couldn't even finish it and wasted my money. The eggs are not what you would typically expect with ramen as they were incredibly sweet but not tasty at all. Noodles were overcooked yet some of the toppings were still frozen. The inside of my spring rolls were still frozen as well. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Online and on the door it says that they close at 10p but the door was locked at 9:10p. It's unfortunate that the information doesn't match and they miss out on customers because of this error.

The building needs attention. When we pulled in off the highway, due to the pictures covering the window, I thought we were at a massage parlor. The sign is broken and falling apart. The outside looked ran down. The inside looked nice and smelled good when we first entered. We were seated and I was put off by the bussing bins that were right next to us. There was nobody in there. There was no need to have so many bussing bins, especially full of dishes, in plain sight! There was no real drink menu. No flavored saki. Minimal beer choices and a plum wine. Even though there are desserts on the menu, when I inquired about desserts because it was my daughter's birthday, I was told all they had was plain ice cream, no other options. There are no substitutions, period. Even for an upgrade charge. The noodles were not good, they had a weird taste to them. The chef did the minimum required. And you could tell he even counted the minimum allowed of the salt - 1, 2, 3 shakes. The food could have used more. The waitress was inattentive. When the check came, not only did she not bother to ask if we were on one check (which we weren't), there was a "variable" charge of almost $30. When I inquired, it was because there were 4 people on our check, it was the tip. Of course, when the credit card was ran, there was a tip line. Variable is a sneaky way to hide that... I don't agree with automatically adding an 18% tip to a check without at least informing someone. It's not on the menu, on the walls, anywhere is it stated that they will do that. I tipped the chef $20 cash. I would have tipped the server, even though she never once paid attention to us, a minimum of 20% on my own for her mediocre service. Had it been service you expect of an establishment where I paid $200 (how did I spend $200 with no alcohol, no appetizers, and 1 person got a $12 sushi instead of hibachi???) for my daughter's birthday the tip would have been much better. First time to go will also be the last time to go.
Our chief was amazing food was terrible. Waiter couldn't get our order right.
If you want your car broken into come here, Lots of car break ins, in there parking lot as your eating dinner. There cameras are not working. Very disappointed. Wasn't impressed, long wait. Food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Over priced.
This particular Kobe, in San Antonio, was different from our usual experience in San Marcos, TX, a bit up hwy 35. Not as good, unfortunately. We were seated after folks who came in after us, our cook was not very engaged and they forgot to give us our steamed rice until I chased them into the kitchen. I was very disappointed and really hope it wasn’t a form of discrimination, as a large party of white people who came in after us got more enthusiastic service, had 2 servers hovering around them and definitely got their steamed rice while their meat and vegetables were still hot. It was discouraging to experience and my family will never return to that particular Kobe restaurant. It was my son’s birthday, too. Smh
A roach and his brother ran across my plate, me and my wife got up and left immediately the workers and waiter just act like it was normal DONT EAT HERE
This was my first time coming to this kobe’s bc I usually go to the one in live oak, I have to say literally the worst. I usually don’t complain about restaurants in reviews but man, our server not very friendly, the atmosphere itself was just bad, I’m not a germaphobe but why did our drinks already come with the straws in them? Then I ordered the filet mignon with the shrimp which I always get and my daughter the steak and fried rice kids plate, well for one they never gave her veggies and they do at the other Kobe’s and 2 the portions of the food was soooo little compared to the other Kobe’s. I always order medium rare, and for her well done, her meat was literally burned like charcoal, my meat wasn’t good for one and beyond chewy, the veggies not even cooked good enough they were hard, and she ordered yum yum sauce wasn’t even the color it’s supposed to be and it didn’t taste like it. Idk what type of shrimp they use but omg was it so chewy it was so gross that I only ate 1 shrimp. And just to throw it into this review the service at other hibachi’s places I’ve been to have been great ! the service, the way they perform while cooking for you is great and when I went today it was so dead, like the cooks didn’t even enjoy their job, barely any performance, I didn’t even hear any words from those cooks. I will never return to this kobe’s literally the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Y’all need to do better. Seriously.
Roach infested! We have eaten at Kobe a few times and always had a pretty good experience. This time we went for my birthday and they stuck our party at the hibachi grill to the left hand side from when you enter. Upon sitting down we saw and killed 6 roaches. The waiter even killed one. At that point we requested to either be switched to the tables on the other side that are used more often or we were leaving. They did accommodate us but we were so squished at the new table. They also messed up the order and charged on of us for 2 rolls of sushi when she ordered one and refused to take it off her tab. I was beyond embarrassed that I had recommended this place and it turned into a huge mess, on my birthday. Please if you do go here look under the tables, the dirt and grime prove they don’t clean.
The food was great! The sushi was edible it kept falling apart. The chef was great. The place was hot, the smoke from all the grills was over powering causing my eyes to water. The service was HORRIBLE! The wait time was 25+ mins. I brought my bonus daughter here for her birthday were from Houston so we expected better I guess. Houston has so much better hibachi places. I will never come back.
Roaches walking around on tables like they run the place. Got up and left immediately.
All im gonna say is ROACHES! We’re waiting for our grill to be lit & my husband overheard another guest talk about the roaches crawling on the hibachi table. The people at the check out counter were trying to say it was just at the other table where the other guest was at! We left, unfortunately we had soup, salad, and a sushi roll before we left. I’m praying to god we don’t get sick! They need a health inspection. I hope the other guest post the video of the insects crawling across their table.
I walked in and was overwhelmed by a smell of urine coming from the dining room worse than a public restroom in a park that hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The food seems to have good reviews but what a negative first impression from someone who lives in the neighborhood and has never been there before.
We got soup and salad to start which was great! Then, a giant cockroach ran across my empty plate and across our table…. Waiter didn’t seem surprised and asked if we would like to cancel our order. ABSOLUTELY! Sad because this was our favorite date night spot for the last 5 years. Not with bugs…. Get a an exterminator and we will try again in 6 months.
My wife and I have been eating at Kobe for about 10-years and we went to eat today for her birthday and we'll never come back. We ordered Gyoza and Black Pepper Tuna, the Gyoza was good but I think that is because it's frozen and dropped in a fryer. The tuna looked nothing like it did previously, it literally looked liked they sliced tuna, sprinkled some pepper, and a drop of soy sauce. Then we got a TT roll, and a Cowboy roll. The TT roll looked nothing like we remembered and the first bite I had tasted like liquid, which is weird because sushi shouldn't be liquidy We didn't even touch the Cowboy roll. But it looked horrible too. The NY strip on top was beige, and it looked like there was grease on the plate. Kobe used to have the best presentation, and was one of our favorite places to eat.
ROACHES! Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday lastnight, they sat us at the hibachi table and right after we sat down, we saw a roach crawling on the table where we was sitting right in front of us. We immediately got up and left.
Very hole in the wall kind of place. Very hot and smoky inside. Food was so bland and everything was burned. They are obsessed with margarine for some reason they put a huge dollop of it on EVERYTHING. So frustrating to pay that much for not good food. Service was good. But not good enough to make me come back.
This place was a huge letdown. The moment we walked in, it smelled like wet rags — really musty and unpleasant. It was hot and stuffy inside, clearly no central air conditioning, which made the entire experience uncomfortable from the start. We waited way too long to be seated. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not very welcoming. Once seated, the service was slow, and the chef barely engaged with the table and very rude. The food was average at best — definitely not worth the price. Between the bad smell, no AC, and lackluster food, I won’t be coming back. Definitely not what you’d expect from a place that’s supposed to be a fun dining experience.
So long story short I ordered food for delivery straight from their website at 530pm website said delivery time 625pm I was cool with that. 7 o’clock rolls around still no food so I call the restaurant talk to Amy, and she was very helpful at first but didn’t give me any answers as to when my food will be delivered and said it has been waiting to be picked up for 45 minutes I tell her it’s supposed to be delivered and she said they don’t deliver. So I find the company they provide to me from their website and call them and they tell me to call DoorDash and DoorDash says there’s no drivers in the area total bs so they tell me to call the restaurant to cancel and get my money back so I do by 8 o’clock pm I was refunded and hangry spoke to Amy again and I told her I deserve some kind of compensation due to their lack of performance from the company they use and she told me I can come in any time any day and pick my food up they would remake for the hassle. I told her on the phone I would be there Saturday night to pick up food and she said that was totally fine took my name and number and I said I’ll see you Saturday. Here it is Saturday night went up there and they denied what they promised went back and forth back and forth and wouldn’t give me the food they promised me. Will not be goin to this restaurant ever again and I’ll make sure people I know don’t go either. Amy and the manager did not hold up to their end of the deal claiming it wasn’t their fault but they’re the ones providing the delivery service from their site directly
Came here at 9pm says they close at 10pm and got here to find it locked and closed. Multiple people showed up to find the door locked. They didn’t answer their phone since 8pm. Is a Friday night. Terrible restaurant.
I don't understand how they can carry the Kobe name, this is not by any comparison to the other Kobe restaurants. Didn't even go in, and what the deal with sketchy massage signs?!? Take quick look at the reviews and don't waste your time. Go to the 35 and 1604 location. That place is GOOD!
I was so excited to eat here. The rice was not good but the meat and shrimp were good. After I almost ate all my food I saw a roach on my plate. 🤮 I let the server know and the staffs reaction was very calm and non chillant. He killed the roach and said my dinner was free. My son and husband did not finish there food and we left. DO NOT EAT HERE 🤮
We were in San Antonio for my son’s gradation from basic training Air Force🥳He wanted Hibachi and this place popped up. We were not impressed from the outside but had the mindset of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. (and we were hungry) Wasn’t too impressed with the inside either. Our cook was engaging and funny. Our server was nice. The food was just eh to us. Didn’t care for the yum yum sauce or the ginger salad dressing. My husband’s steak was salty. My sister’s salmon was overcooked. Both of my son’s said the sushi was pretty good. Overall, I give a 4 out of 10. I took several points away because as we were STILL at the table, a staff member was cleaning our table picking up empty dishes. I love the efficiency, however, for me….please clean up when I leave or ASK can you remove stuff from the table.
