Fantastic breakfast. Fried, poached eggs cooked fresh .Caroline,Olivia and sheila ,great customer service, very efficient. Will definitely be back. Thankyou.
another lovely overnight stay - bed really comfy & we used the pool, sauna & jacuzzi . Sheila, Nine & Olivia served us our breakfast & they were all great x
Lovely service from Shiela and Olivia at breakfast today, good selection at the hot buffet. Porridge not hot enough and a little undercooked for my taste.
An amazing stay with a friend for a Lionel Ritchie tribute night. The room was perfect. It was so big and had everything my friend and I needed. The beds are so comfy and the shower was great. The evening was amazing value at £42. The singing was great and the food was a set menu but was lovely and hot!! Absolutely recommend this venue for a Christmas do. The staff serving were great and the DJ played some lively tunes!! Thanks For a fab night and stay!!
Me and my partner have had a lovely stay at the Village hotel and have had breakfast and dinner here. We came here for his birthday and for our engagement shoot at Wollaton Hall. Our servers this morning were Sheila, Nina, Zoe, Olivia and Eloise, all were welcoming and very helpful with greeting us and informing us of what to do re the buffet. I have allergies and the workers have all been amazing with explaining what I can eat and provided me with all the information needed regarding food. There is also lovely night staff who are very helpful. We had an issue with my Halifax app and the workers were amazing at helping ease our worries. They also gave us lots of information and recommendations on where to go in Nottingham. This is our second time staying here, will definitely come back again!
I stayed at the Village hotel last month for a friends birthday. The whole stay was wonderful, from the friendly welcome from Sarah to the lovely, comfortable room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly your lovely bar manager. We had a great time playing darts to kick off our evening. And a swim and sauna the following day after a tasty breakfast. I didn't get chance to use the gym this time but all the facilities looked great so I look forward to this on my next visit. I'll definitely be returning, such a relaxing stay and nothing was too much trouble.
Had a most enjoyable weekend at this Village Hotel, great rooms plus the pool and gym facilities were a bonus. Breakfast service from Sheila and her team was wonderful. Very attentive and all was kept topped up and clean even at a busy breakfast sitting. Highly recommend this hotel.
My partner and I had a lovely breakfast today. We were made very welcome by the team. Sheila, Nina, Olivia and Zoe were all fantastic. Thank you to Matt the chef who happily made us 10 poached eggs to cater to our specific diet. The restaurant was clean and plenty of food was available for us. We've also used the gym and spa facilities during our stay and I highly recommend this. The gym has all the equipment you need whether you are cardio focused or body building. There are also many classes which can be an option to add on to if they are not busy. The swimming pool is lovely and warm with a hot sauna and steam. There are some nice jacuzzi areas too. Huge changing rooms and you get a wristband for a locker aswell as a towel.
Just came for breakfast. Good variety and quality of food. Excellent service in particular given by Sheila, she was very friendly and attentive.
Depending on the deal relatively cheap and cheerful experience. Copious parking, good if not overpriced food (if you don't have a package deal), clean rooms and a good gym are all features. The pool is often full of kids and sauna full of lads so not quite as laid back as you'd hope but it depends on the time of day. While there's buses aplenty and if you like mad traffic you can drive into Nottingham, it's a ten minute walk to Attenborough train station and another ten minutes into the city for a few quid and far more civilised.
I'd just like to Thank the village hotel nottingham for a fantastic Christmas party night, I attended with work colleagues in December 2025, The food was AMAZING and the entertainment and disco was brilliant, A good time was had by all. I also attended the New Years Eve Gala night with the soul & motown tribute act, the singer was absolutely brilliant and the 4 course meal was of very high standard and enjoyed by all, it was a fantastic atmosphere and we will definitely be returning again i would highly recommend this Gala night to anybody, well done to all the team who organises these events they are very good value for money and always happy to help with any queries, The party night's that are held throughout the year are well worth a look aswell, again good value for money ,so why not get your friends together and enjoy a night out at the village
Sheila, Nina & Hayley were very friendly, attentive and warming at this mornings breakfast. I travel weekly with my work, staying at the Village hotels all over the country so it's important to have that warming face and friendly conversation in the mornings. I've been in this hotel for a week now and the facilities and service have been 10/10.
I stayed at the Village Hotel Nottingham last year during the winter season, and it was an absolute pleasure. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming — the perfect place to relax and unwind. The rooms were stylish, clean, and comfortable, making my stay truly enjoyable. The room service was exceptional, and every staff member I encountered was polite, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The hotel’s facilities, including the gym, pool, and restaurant, added even more comfort and convenience. It was a memorable stay, and I would highly recommend Village Hotel Nottingham to anyone visiting the area — whether for a business trip, family break, or peaceful winter getaway
Had a wonderful stay, Sheila, Hayley and Andy were all super friendly at breakfast and just made it a great start to the day! I’ve travel a lot with work so always nice to find good spots. Would definitely reccomend
Have had many meals here and a recent birthday celebration was no different with top class service and food. Andy, Ella, Charlie & Toni were all massively accommodating and friendly throughout. We’ll be back in no time!
I popped into the Starbucks café at the Village Hotel today and was warmly greeted by two lovely young ladies, Winnie and Jess. Both were cheerful, welcoming, and full of positive energy—it really set the tone for my visit. My caramel macchiato was absolutely delicious, as always. I genuinely look forward to my weekly visits, especially when these two are on duty. Their friendly service makes all the difference. Keep up the good work
Sheila and Nina at breakfast were so welcoming and friendly. It can be a lonely experience travelling with work and it was lovely to have a warm welcome from them both at breakfast. Go and have breakfast with Nina and Sheila- they will give you a warm welcome!
As always, the breakfast was great, fully stocked. The servers, Sheila, Nina Olivia, Hailey and Dylan were polite, friendly and efficient. The stay itself was not what I had experienced before. Very noisy at nights going on until after 3am but being December and event season this is going to happen. Sadly, this noise level continued over the three nights. The staff can only do so much and did all they could. I will make sure that I don't return in December!
Had fab stay at the village hotel Nottingham the room was spotless very clean and the temperate of the room was great and you can turn the heating down if it was too warm and the meal in the restaurant was everything you ask for not bad prices the linguine chicken pasta was absolute delicious not bad for £17 but also if you get the app you get a free drink with why any main . And it’s great location and I’d deffo stay again with my partner or probably family
Winnie and Tyler are just the best. Helping me set up the app and using it! Helping me choose a milder coffee. Generally full of life and smiles. It's a pleasure when I know they are on the cafe. The young man is good too but I don't know his name - Adam.
Recently stayed here for 3 nights for business. Great location, within a few minutes drive of plenty of shops. Rooms are very good, slightly small in size but are equipped with great facilities. Nice big bed, although I think the double was 2 singles pushed together. Huge TV, which even had Sky Sports on in the rooms. Fantastic bathroom and shower, although there was lots of mould on the ceiling, just needs a good spray and clean. Only other slight issue was the cups in the room for tea/coffee are tiny. Restaurant and bar downstairs are fantastic! Hats off to your chef and kitchen team, some of the best hotel and pub food I've ever had. So much choice, premium ingredients and large portions. All other staff were helpful and friendly too! Didn't get a chance to use the gym, pool or spa but I'm sure the facilities are just as good as the rest of the hotel. They also have a Starbucks on site which is great to grab a coffee on the way out. Will be using this hotel again for all my Midlands based meetings and nights over.
The crew of HMS Gloucester had a reunion to mark 35 years since the end of the Gulf War at the Village Hotel this weekend. Honey, Dylan and rest of the staff were amazing and ensured we had an outstanding time. The food was lovely and the location perfect for us. We had rooms at a discounted price which made things easier for some of the crew. The gym and swimming pool were great. Thank you to everyone at the Village hotel for the best weekend 👏
Wonderful, friendly helpful staff who made us feel welcome especially the lovely Sheila. Food perfect and the whole atmosphere for the weekend was ideal. Only downside was the condition of the room no sockets near the bed and the carpet desperately needed replacing or cleaning.
Great hotel, lovely breakfast. Sheila at breakfast was very friendly and efficient. They all were! I slept soundly. Big comfy bed. Everything you could need! Check-in was quick and easy. I have stayed in Village Hotels before, and would definitely stay again.
We had our wedding celebration at this beautiful and clean venue. We also had 6 rooms at discounted price which helped us get things sorted right on time. Our point of contact and collaborator was a lady call Cori She was ever so helpful. She got us through everything with a smile, so orginaised and made sure that our wedding goes as planned. They were very clear with all terms and conditions, all the charges and no nasty surprises. The rooms were all very clean and tidy. Maybe a bit of a tear and wear at some parts of the building but you'd expect that anyway. The hire room was also very clean, all setup and ready for our use. The chair covers were also very clean and bar staff and the kitchen staff were also very helpful. The manager at the hotel was also extremely helpful and even gave us and our guests complimentary free parking for the whole night, which was amazing and so kind of her. The reception team were also very helpful and professional, a lady called Philecia was very helpful. All we can do is to thank the whole team and we hope that this review shows our appreciation for all their help and efforts. 🙏🏻❤️
Certainly one of my favourite hotels . I love the decor and the food was so delicious i ordered another set of chicken wing. The breakfast staff were very accommodating and friendly. Shelia and Nina really went out of their way and were full of smiles . The check in process was 5 stars also
I had an amazing stay at Village Hotel Chilwell! The room was spotless, modern, and really comfortable. The staff were welcoming from the moment I arrived and went out of their way to help with anything I needed. The gym and pool were a huge bonus — super clean and well-equipped. Great location too, with easy parking. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely stay at the village hotel, we do come here often as my little boy loves the swimming and it’s always good to get away for the night. Rooms are always clean and staff are so friendly. We had a wonderful break Sheila,Hayley and Caroline were amazing and made sure we had everything we needed Thankyou so much!
Great service, lovely rooms and very clean. Lovely breakfast and super friendly service in the restaurant from Sheila, Hayley and Nina! Thanks for looking after us especially on Christmas Day!
Sheila and Andy were so amazing. We had a fantastic breakfast in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
A big thank you going to sheile, Olivia and haley for a lovely service at breakfast. Staying here for 3 nights and so far it's been excellent, the rooms are big and spacious and well decorated, the evening staff are very polight and friendly, all in all I would recommend a stay in this hotel.
The village hotel is lovely and the breakfast was nice, Sheila and Andy working hard to make customers feel welcome.
Pillows are lumpy and toilet lid won't stay up. Otherwise all good and breakfast staff Sheena, Nina and Hayley were very efficient, helpful and friendly.
We had a lovely big family room and a warm reception at breakfast from Sheila. Very good for a family stay - I would thoroughly recommend it.
Staff Sheila & Hailey both were great warm welcome and nothing a problem to assist with. Breakfast was a good quality, warm and always plenty on the counter.
Sheila Nina and Olivia were absolutely wonderful so lovely and approachable this is our first time here and we will definitely come again.
Had a lovely breakfast this morning. I have Fibromyalgia and struggle with my mobility. Breakfast is self-service but Sheila, Nina and Olivia helped me get drinks and food so I didnt need to struggle. And they have not been the only ones. From the moment I arrived in the car park, some local members of the gym helped me het to reception with my luggage, where I was greeted by a member of staff would confirmed my needs to ensure I had a room that met them. Then she arranged for a member of the bar staff to take my luggage to my room. I can highly recommend the Village Hotel, Bar and Grill and Gym as a hotel that recognises the Sunflower lanyard for hidden disabilities and goes the extra mile to ensure a solo guest with a disability doesnt feel a burden when they need help. Thank you x
Breakfast was great, plates were hot which is a nice touch. Plenty of options hot, toast, pastry, fruit, cereal ect Sheila and Andy ran it wonderfully.
Stayed here for two nights. Really nice hotel and well looked after. At breakfast the staff Shiela, Nina and Andy went out of their way with my wife’s dairy allergy to show her what she could have and were happy to make anything to order if she wanted it.
A brilliant hotel to stay at, highly recommend. When I came for breakfast I had Shiela, Nina and Carly who all went above and beyond to make my experience great. Very polite, asked if things were alright and service with a smile 😊 the bedrooms are cosy and have everything you need. Would definitely stay again ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Sheila and Caroline and Hayley are very good, they served very tasty and nice breakfast on Sunday morning.. Really enjoyed the food and service. Thanks to the great team.
Attended a private function which was very good. Rest of stay was very good also. Staff very friendly and helpful. I did find the reception area rather noisy at times but that might be an age thing!
Good stay! Rooms don’t have plug sockets next to the bed so will need an extension cable. Breakfast is good and with wonderful service. I had Sheila and Nina and they were lovely. Ideal hotel stay
Sheila and Caroline at breakfast were lovely. Very happy and helpful. The food was good too.
Sheila, Nina, Olivia, Zoe, and one more were lovely at breakfast and worked hard. Disappointed there was no oat milk especially as I’d notified the hotel of my requirement two weeks in advance. Good breakfast choice, room looked a bit tired, plug sockets not well located and lighting very very poor, but good facilities and cleanliness and staff throughout hotel were lovely. Would stay again. Meeting rooms very cold.
A fantastic hotel in a great location. The reception, bar area and rooms were excellent. Fantastic rooms with a very comfortable bed. It was useful there was an iron and ironing board already in the room. The toilets were were clean and well maintained too. Once I checked out, on the way home, I realised I'd left something in my room. After trying the phone several times, going through many option on the phone line, I was told the call could not be connected. My only option was to turn around and drive back to the hotel to collect my lesson. This was time consuming and frustrating.
A big hotel with good amenities. When trying to find the room it was like a maze ! Room was big but was abit in need for a paint refresh in places . The bed was super comfy and the breakfast was good .
Third time at this hotel and always been a great stay. Staff friendly and on hand to help when needed. Close to tram station which is perfect. Shampoo and condition in the club rooms which is fantastic. Coffee machine too, win win. Breakfast is great. Good choice for the price you pay. Only reason its not 5 star is the mugs in the room are too small for me and no plug sockets by the beds.
Breakfast was lovely. There was a wide selection of hot and cold food with hot food being brought out every few minutes. Sheila and the team are very attentive and all very helpful. The rooms: we stayed in a club room and the bed was amazing! But I would bring slippers as the carpet looks like it could get up and crawl away! It was very noisy from about 6.30. The toilet flush hadn't quite caught after the midnight visit so water dripping was the first thing to wake me up. The heating sounds like a kettle boiling but never quite ready to pop! We where clearly under the good entrance as the linen was taken out in big noisy bins to a huge truck that sounds like nexts doors alarm as it reversed. I believe their is a moth issue as found a few dead in the room and when putting the bath mat down 2 live ones flew out of it. The gym and swimming pool are lovely and staff very helpful.
Old skool hotel, Stayed here 20 years ago, thought we'd go again. Rooms was basic but very warm and comfortable. Restaurant is good for both evening meals and breakfast. Full gym and swimming facilities The hallway are tired and needs a good lick of paint. My only issue was room service, you have to order via a QR code and it takes time and error can happen. The hotel needs to change this set up. And checking was disappointing, having to use a new ablet for it to not work, end having reception checking me in anyway. Rest fine and would definitely stay again.
Fabulous service from arrival, through to breakfast (Sheila and Nina in particular). Location is great and the general hotel too but the rooms really are basic. Despite being in a ‘Club’ room, the room looks tired in places and there is no coffee machine as advertised.
Food was hit and miss, frustrating that the items would quite often come out different on what was on the menu and definitely very over priced. All of the staff were lovely and welcoming, even the cleaning staff always saying good morning, apart from one female member that works the front I found condescending. I did have issues on multiple occasions with black mould on the ceiling and the club rooms although charged at a higher rate aren't all of the same quality which I think needs to be rectified. Location is great for local shops with a Tesco 5 minute drive away, and a mixture of other outlets and a McDonald's within 2 minutes walking distance. The pool was cold and changing rooms outdated, however the rest of the gym and rooms they use for classes were clean and modern. The gym is always busy and you do struggle to get into classes so I would say they have far too many people signed up for memberships, which can be frustrating when you're trying to get booked in for a class. Car park is always full but also has electric charging points round the back with additional spaces. I would recommend this hotel if your staying for a weekend but not any longer then that, as the food is too expensive and not great quality and the standard rooms need to be sorted and club rooms of equal quality in what they offer.
Signage for hotel poor and difficult to find. Rooms need a deep cleaning, dust and cobwebs, stained walls and generally overall grubby for the price. Staff excellent and friendly, food was decent although a little pricy. Breakfast times at weekends too late, I paid for 2 nights with breakfast but unable to get my 2nd one had to leave early no other alternatives, poorly advertised when booking. Dirty cup in my room and not enough coffee. Generally overall very grubby hotel, no attention to detail by housekeeping.
Stayed here exactly a year ago on a package which includes a £50 and rebooked for this weekend just gone (31/10/25) the decline of the place is beyond belief, steam room broken, jacuzzi not working, various bits of gym equipment not working, showers in the changing rooms were disgusting, the soap dispenser which had no lid was full of small flies which had died and started to rot into the soap. Place needs some serious investment. Value for money not too bad but only if everything worked as it should, had I known there were going to be so many issues I'd have stayed elsewhere.
We arrived at the hotel on a Friday afternoon after a long drive, hoping for a quiet and relaxing stay. Unfortunately, from the moment we checked in, the experience was dreadful. The first room we were given was shockingly dirty—the bed looked as though it had already been slept in. We immediately requested a room change, only to be moved to a second room that absolutely stank. When we complained again, we were told we would need to pay for an upgrade. All we wanted was a clean room, but we paid anyway as we had no other option. The following two days were awful. The noise at night was unbearable, the bedsheets were never changed during our entire stay, and when we mentioned this at checkout, we were told we should have requested it. There was food left outside our door for over 24 hours, and the bathroom bin was never emptied once. At checkout, we had no choice but to complain again. The staff member on the desk, a very rude woman named Amy, was extremely impatient, dismissive, and unwilling to listen. When my husband explained that this was the fourth time we had complained, she said she would “investigate.” We suggested she come to the room so we could show her the issues firsthand, but she rudely refused and told us to leave while she investigated. Only after my husband continued to press the matter did she reluctantly agree to refund 50% of our stay—again with a terrible attitude and without a single apology for what was a truly horrific experience. Overall, this was a terrible stay with terrible staff and appalling housekeeping. We would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone
I visited this gym a few times specifically to use the sauna. While I usually enjoy going to a sauna to relax, unfortunately this was one of the least relaxing sauna experiences I’ve had. People inside were talking loudly as if they were in a café or a pub, and there was no calming background music to create a peaceful atmosphere. Because of this, I wasn’t able to relax at all. For those who are looking for a quiet and comfortable sauna experience, I would not recommend this location. I hope the gym considers improving the environment in the future.
Disabled parking at the Village Hotel Gym is routinely abused. On 2 January 2026, multiple disabled bays were occupied by vehicles displaying no blue badges, while other cars were parked on double yellow lines without permits. This is not an isolated incident and has happened repeatedly. I suffer from bulging discs and nerve damage, which makes using standard parking spaces extremely difficult. On 2 January 2026, due to the disabled bays being unavailable, I was forced to park at the far end of the car park and walk back to the gym, causing unnecessary pain and worsening my condition. When I raised this issue with reception on 2 January 2026, the customer service was disgraceful. I was given incorrect information, the problem was dismissed, and no action was taken. There is absolutely no point in having parking rules if staff can’t—or won’t—enforce them. I attend this gym specifically to complete my physiotherapy, which is essential to my recovery, and I pay for a membership. Unfortunately, accessing the gym is becoming increasingly complex due to these ongoing failures. If this continues, I will cancel my membership, which is a shame as the facilities themselves are good. Disabled access is not optional. Management needs to take this seriously.
Was greeted by rude staff after a very very long day which continued into the bar area.. they were purposely being awkward to me. Continued the following day at breakfast then ordered a lunch to take out and was told they didn't do it and they would give me cling film! When challenged that the website says it does take outs I was told oh yeah we can put it in take away containers!! Being a single lone woman I felt this was the reason as a sour faced server turned to a couple and totally changed her face and volume of speech after speaking to me. Shame on you. Oh there was a lovely receptionist on the Saturday day. If it wasn't for her I would have felt complete hostility
