Amazing experience. We came in a busy Friday but the service was immaculate! The food is really good. We had the mushroom dumplings and chive pancakes as appetizers. Both cooked to perfection The main courses are also great. They prepare them accordingly on the spiciness level as preferred. Great experience overall, especially if you are craving Thai cuisine. Great seafood, very fresh and the coconut pudding was the icing on the cake. Not too sweet, but very flavorful. We’ll be back soon
Great lunch specials at a very fair price. Super service and delicious chai tea!
A lovely place. Ordered twice here and the food was great. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.
The service at Thai social is great and professional. Their servers are very attentive and kind and the food is amazing. I haven’t had Khao soi since my trip to Chiang Mai and I was so excited to see it on the menu! It was also very delicious. Their cocktails are also really impressive if you wanted to just have an appetizer and a cocktail. The ambience is really nice and they put a lot of hard work into the place which is evident.
The food is excellent and tastes superb. The staff is very attentive to their customers and the ambiance is great. I have had exceptional experiences each time I ate there.
Attentive service.... really polite people. Tasty & Strong drinks. Food is delicious. Love their lunch special menu.
I love, love Thai Social. The food is always delicious and the staff is warm and friendly. We're absolutely happy we live right in the neighborhood! The Cocktails are very delicious! I suggest the watermelon Slushie or Margaritas, are both great for a hot Summer day or night. We just had dinner there! Always a great experience.
great atmosphere, lovely staff, delicious and aesthetic food. So happy to live near this local joint! Wishing this restaurant a prosperous and good fortunes ahead 🤍🤍🤍
They are more than a normal neighborhood Thai restaurant. They have unique and interesting dishes and they have yet to disappoint! The service is quick, but not at the sacrifice of quality or taste. Highly recommended
everything was delicious and great atmosphere but the big wall painting in the corner is a bit creepy. A thai women with blood dripping from her eyes and ears. it's very disturbing and they should replace it with something more pleasant
Excellent food and service for what you pay for. Great portions. Friendly staff. Great lunch specials until 330pm that come served with an appetizer, choice of soup or salad, and select entrees. Plenty of street parking, paid and free. Happy hour cocktails too. Overall amazing experience. Will be coming back!
Authentic Thai food is not rare or hard to find in New York City. But finding one with great service and atmosphere is a challenge. Thai social is in a quite neighborhood with good food, affordable prices and fast service. We ordered from the fish and vegetarian items and the food was very good. I would strongly recommend the mock duck. We will definitely have to come back to try the rest of the food. Updated on Aug 23 - still very good service and food freshly prepared with authentic spices.
Indulge in the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine at thai social in Bayside, Queens. This restaurant’s charming decor and cozy atmosphere create a welcoming environment. Each dish and cocktail is not just a treat for your taste buds but also a visual delight, showcasing vibrant colors and meticulous presentation. We started off with the irresistible grill scallops with Thai chili sauce. It was so yummy. Next we had the steam Branzino , immersed in a fish sauce and fresh lime-based broth, creates a harmonious blend of umami and acidity. This is a-must try. The lime broth is so refreshing and just WOW. Next was the silky egg mixture with squid and shrimp, a magical fusion of textures that captivates the palate. Don’t miss The beef short rib in Panang sauce . It is a masterpiece of tenderness and savory delight. Manager GIG’s friendly demeanor adds a personal touch to the already impeccable service. From start to finish , this spot promises a journey through flavors and ambiance that leaves you craving more. Highly recommended this spot. If you are in this area , please check it out, you won’t be disappointed. Featuring : Fried crab meat Roll Grilled scallop skewers Steam fish with Thai herbs Kang Pu ( coconut crab curry) Kai Toon Talay ( steamed egg ) Beef short Rib Panang Khao Tom mud ( Thai banana in warm sticky rice) Rose Cocktail
This place is the best!!! The food is FLAVOR FULL! They've got all the Thai classics that most will know by name but they also have delicious specials that might not be so familiar but yummy all the same. Portions are perfect and you could definitely fill up on the varied appetizers but TRY AND RESIST...because your gonna want to have your dinner unless your a leftover kinda person which also works because this food totally travels well and the flavors don't die in transit. Honestly this place is my new favorite...wait did I mention the drink menu??? No? Well just know they've got something for everyone, even the kids my daughter had a coconut water(drink) and it was so refreshing I almost took more than a sip. My Passion fruit Moijto was amazing and its gonna be hard not to order the same thing evwrytime. Service is great and attentive food comes QUICK which is perfect!!! Bottom line you gotta check out Thai Social, you just have to!
Thai Social is a great restaurant that serves authentic Thai food. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from, including appetizers, soups, salads, noodles, and stir-fries. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the portions are generous. Thai Social restaurant I have been to Thai Social several times, and I have always been impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and it is a great place to catch up with friends or family. If you are looking for a great Thai restaurant, I highly recommend Thai Social. You won't be disappointed!
Great service. They are going to take your napkins and fill your water instantly. I kid you not. The food is off the chain, especially if you like spicy food. I'm really impressed, by far the best Thai food I've had yet.
First time at this new Thai spot, and it definitely won’t be the last. We started with some well-seasoned chicken wings that hit the spot, then dived into a steaming Tom Yum seafood hotpot packed with flavors, just the right amount of spice, and fresh seafood. To top it off, we had a couple of beautifully crafted cocktails that looked as good as they tasted. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. If you’re a fan of Thai food, this place is a must-try. Can’t wait to come back!
I’ve been to many Thai restaurants. This spot definitely ranks high on my list. Food is delicious, service is great. I got zaab wings and dumplings as appetizer. Basil fried rice with chicken which had a unique but great flavor profile compared to other places. Lychee Thai iced tea was perfect. Dessert mango sticky rice was delicious. Would definitely come back
I love Thai Social! The service was wonderful and I was frequently asked if I liked my meal or if I needed anything. The aesthetic of the restaurant is also very beautiful. There's a beautiful mural towards the back of the restaurant and a shelf full of houseplants. I ordered the chive pancakes and the crispy eggplant with peppers. The crispy eggplant with peppers came with a bowl of rice. I loved this dish, the eggplant was not too crispy and seasoned well. The dish tasted very homemade but still restaurant quality. My boyfriend got the clay pot and curry puffs and loved his choices as well.
phenomenal food, service and ambiance compared to other food in the area. I've literally enjoyed every dish I've ordered so far from this restaurant and recommended it to many family and friends. more restaurants need to open up around the neighborhood with this kind of quality.
Food is fresh and delicious. Great variety and special seasonal items are always amazing! Service & Wait Staff are kind, energetic and friendly. It's a warm and trendy vibe inside. The bar is well lit & centered. We regularly order take out and enjoy dining in as well! Lunch specials are great too. Some things we love: App: Curry Puffs & Mango Salad Green Curry, Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice & Vegetarian Dishes Dessert: Mango and Sticky Rice & Coconut Vegan Pudding
Attentive, pleasant, thoughtful service, with all your expected Thai fare, but certainly at a quality only outmatched by Michelin Star restaurants. At this price point, it's gratefully a location that makes it easy to get a spot to sit in on a Friday night with minimal wait. One of the best spots for Thai in Queens for sure.
Thai Social is exactly what it is. Friendly special people with delicious Thai food right in Bayside. The food has a perfect balance of all different flavors for our taste buds. Seafood Tom Yum hot pot is out of this world. They are so attentive to detail that they even cover the branzino’s head with a banana leaf. Outdoor seating have a very clean and tidy by the sidewalk so you can enjoy outdoors before the brutal winter comes. The restaurant decor and food are excellent! With available outdoor dining, you can bring four-legged friend with you. The summer weather is over soon so don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy great food and drinks outdoors with your beloved ones.
The food was good and I am happy to see that all the people that work there are Thai. It gives an authentic feel and taste. We got to go food and it was great. The basil Chicken, chicken satay, papaya salad and chicken fried rice were all delicious. We will return when we are in the area.
Atmosphere: lovely area, not too crowded. Restaurant was very welcoming and friendly. Service: Just great! Let’s just say my glass of water was never empty. Staff was always attentive. Food: you can tell by the cleaned out plate how amazing it was. Food was filled with so much flavor and the presentation was on point.
All of the servers are very attentive even if they aren't your server. My server Fon kept my glass full and even replaced my dirt place. Great waitress. Great service. Food is very tasty. Very relaxing atmosphere. Beautifully decorated inside and out. And Don't forget to leave room for dessert.
I recently ordered delivery from Thai Social in Oakland Gardens, and let me tell you, their Chicken Fried Rice and Basil Fried Rice were absolutely amazing! The flavors were on point, and the heat level was just right. Even though I couldn't personally experience the restaurant's ambiance and service, the delivery was prompt, ensuring the food arrived in great condition. Yet, I can only imagine how much more amazing it would be to dine in and savor these dishes straight from their kitchen. Looking forward to checking them out !
I recently dined at Thai Social, and it was a nice experience. The restaurant is small and the atmosphere inviting with well-thought-out decor making it a perfect spot for any occasion. The service staff was friendly and accommodating and they were knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is pretty big and they offer a diverse range of dishes. For appetizers, my group shared calamari, Zaab wings, crab Rangoon, and curry puff. The calamari was nothing special, but it was crispy and had enough flavor. The zaab wings were a dry seasoning, which made the wings a bit dry overall, but was still spicy and delicious. Crab Rangoon had more cream cheese than crab meat, which was disappointing. The curry puff was spot on though. The puff was flaky and crispy and it was stuffed with a good amount of curry. For entrees, I tried the Khao Soi Chicken Curry Noodles and Roasted Duck Drunken Noodles. The curry broth in the curry noodles was rich and and fragrant. The chicken was tender but lacked flavor. I think my favorite was the roasted duck drunken noodles. They did not hesitate to top my dish with a bunch of duck. The noodles were flavorful and has a good kick of spice. The pricing is pretty average compared to other restaurants nowadays. I would say the quality of the food and the dining experience justified the prices. Overall, Thai Social is a good option for anyone craving for some Thai cuisine. Another great addition to the Bayside/Oakland Gardens area.
I stop here on my break from work whenever I'm in the area. Staff are very respectful and kind. The food is all delicious and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Definitely recommend esoecially if you're new to Thai food.
Stopped on my way home to escape the hunger and fatigue from sitting in traffic. The food was excellent and easy to customize to my preferences (plum sauce and crushed peanuts were a great touch). Service was quick, which I really appreciated. Since everything was going so well, I decided to try a drink. I enjoy drinking from time to time, and this lychee martini definitely delivered—refreshing with a nice kick. I finished the meal with hot water, which I ordered at the start. Overall, a 9.5/10 experience. My only complaint is how cold it is inside—even the workers coming from the back looked cold.
🌶️🔥 Customer Review — Must-Try Dish This Winter! 🔥🌶️ “I just tried the new seasonal dish — Thai Steamed Egg Hot Pot (Kai Toon Talay) 🥘✨ And honestly… it’s so good that I had to share this review! 😍 The steamed egg is incredibly soft and silky, but not bland like the Japanese version. It’s infused with authentic Thai Tom Yum flavors — fragrant herbs with just the right touch of spice, tanginess, and savory depth. 🌿 Inside the hot pot are fresh shrimp and squid, served bubbling hot right at the table — the aroma alone will make your mouth water! 🦐🦑 It’s absolutely perfect for the chilly weather — comforting, healthy, and something everyone in the family will love. ❤️ Warm, flavorful, and full of Thai soul. 🍲 If you haven’t tried it yet, you must! This isn’t just a new winter dish — it’s pure comfort in a bowl that warms your heart. 😋
I came here for a date night and expected good food but it ended up being FANTASTIC! the curry puffs and stew roti (special) were so juicy and delectable. The khao soi noodles and chicken curry were also fantastic. Tyler our incredible waiter gave us suggestions, explained the menu when needed and was very attentive. Would recommend to anyone
This review is long overdue because this Thai restaurant is exactly what our neighborhood needed. Before they opened, there really wasn’t a spot that had both the cute ambience and the great food. The vibe here is perfect for date night especially the outdoor seating, which is tucked away from the avenue so you can actually enjoy a quiet meal. The staff are always so kind and attentive. My husband goes through water quickly and his glass has literally never sat empty. That level of service says it all. Food wise, you can’t go wrong. My husband is loyal to the pineapple fried rice with chicken, while I am partial to the pad kra pao with tofu and extra veggies, this time I got it with shrimp (bonus: they offer brown rice). Spring rolls, dumplings, calamari all consistently great appetizers. And if you’re lucky enough to snag mango sticky rice for dessert, don’t skip it. Drinks are another highlight. Every single cocktail is as cute as it is delicious. I usually go for the passionfruit mojito, but the frozen passionfruit margarita I tried last time was just as amazing. This place deserves way more than 5 stars. We’re so glad it’s here.
Great atmosphere and excellent customer service! The food was absolutely delicious. Our server recommended a tofu dish, which I enjoyed, but since I was craving curry, I also ordered the vegetable red curry - it did not disappoint! The presentation was beautiful, the flavors were spot on, and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Words can’t even describe how amazing this place is! Our server Rain was so welcoming and kind, already giving us a great experience as soon as we walk in. The place was very clean and was very pretty on the outside and inside, The food and drinks were so delicious and they have a lot to choose from on the menu which I LOVED! I will definitely be back!!
One of the best authentic Thai places in this part of city. Food was on point including the flavor. The ambiance has a cozy vibe to it which makes it perfect for intimate gatherings. It can get busy late weekends so I highly recommend that you make a reservation. There is ample outdoor seating once there is good weather. My recommendations are the Turmeric Chicken and a regular Thai Iced Tea. Make it a point to visit this spot at least once, you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely lovely little bustling restaurant in queens. Worth a visit. Everything was delicious. The service and good food make a solid combo. Thank you to the manager Jane and server Luna who made us feel welcome and well taken care of also. Will be back! Bravo to the ladies who run the show ❤️
I have been ordering takeout here through DoorDash for a few months. Everything is delicious. I decided to use them to cater my mom's 91st birthday dinner. Placing the order was easy. When I arrived to pick up the order, I was greeted by a warm, friendly staff. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, Thai wings, fried dumplings and mixed vegetables in garlic sauce. The food was a hit with my family. I will definitely use them in the future and look forward to dining in there soon.
Best Thai place in the area. We were seated quickly upon arrival. Their menu expanded with new items but we can’t help but order our go-to’s. The appetizers came out in a timely order. And only when we finished the appetizers, the entrees came out. The food is super flavorful, fresh and colorful. The service is great. The atmosphere is vibrant and trendy. Not sure if it’s women owned but it was all women at the front of the house - hostess, bartender, waitress, everyone!
Best Thai food ever. Me and my bff love Thai food and try to go to new spots around the boroughs . By far the best one: , food top notch , great atmosphere and very reasonably priced! The mango margaritas is life. I do give one star off for service because as soon as the check was paid they asked us to leave. Left a sour taste after what was a great dinner. So if you don’t plan on just leaving the second you take your last bite, order some dessert.
I did take out and I was pleased with my meal. The wings come 4 per order and were fried to order. They were meaty and tasted delicious for $9.00 I think I should have been at least 6 in the order. I tried the Pineapple Rice with Chicken lunch special it came with a side I choose spring rolls and you can have soup or salad. For $14.00 (one dollar extra to add cheken) there was plenty of food, I even had left over rice. Service was great I was greated at the door my order was taken quickly and wait for food was under 10 minutes. I will stop by again to dine in.
Thai Social has a great menu, including the drinks menu. We ordered pad thai, crab omelet, and moodang. I actually thought the food was pretty average, but I am willing to give the place another try because the drinks were good and they had other dishes that I would like to try. I would not order the crab omelet as it just eggs and some crab meat. Nothing special… The service was good.
The food is delicious. I’m happy to have found this place because I would drive to Brooklyn for Thai food. So I had to update my review. I swapped my sauce for a different sauce so it’s not like I added an extra sauce. I replaced my sauce for another flavor. I come here all the time. The lady tried to charge me three dollars, $3 for 2 tablespoons of sauce. I told her to take the sauce back. She didn’t. Now mind you, the prices have gotten up at least four times in the past five years and the portions I’ve gotten significantly smaller. They now charge $12 for four wings and I don’t mean for a whole wing with 3 wing parts. So this will be the last time I’m ordering from this place or dining in because this is ridiculous. This really just turned me off. Tried to charge me $3 because I changed my sauce not adding extra sauce but swapped sauces. Got home with the food. I’m so glad that I didn’t pay the $3. She didn’t put the sauce in anyway and tried to shake me. I like the wing sauce for the spring rolls. Good thing is I do not use the wing sauce for the wings. $3 for 2Tbsp of sauce. Tah huh
My husband and I stopped in to eat last night. We had the honey BBQ ribs and Tom Kha Guy soup for apps. The ribs were good, but they give you an odd number and for some reason we’re not able to make them spicy. Which would have entailed adding a sliced chili pepper to the sauce but they couldn’t figure that out. Also asked if they had chili sauce or chili flakes - no, they didn’t have that either. The soup was too sweet. It was totally missing the savory element. It’s just a bowl of white liquid with white chicken and white mushrooms. Devoid of color and spice. My husband got a spicy seafood dish that was delicious and had heat. So they do know how to add spice to a dish. My red curry was also too sweet. They never asked if I wanted it spicy, but I feel that wouldn’t have happened even if I asked for it. Service was excellent, very friendly, checked on us a few times. Food just needs a little something more to make it authentic tasting. Maybe more fish sauce, ginger, garlic and lemon grass.
Lunch special was a good deal. The spring rolls and dumplings were good. We also liked the curry puffs. Peanut sauce in the salad was amazing. Was not a fan of the soup that came with the lunch special. Drunken noodles were average. Basil Chicken needed more basil flavor, a little dry, as well. Servers were courteous.
Quaint spot with amazing mural decor, super fresh food and the most attentive wait staff I have ever encountered. Dined here on a Friday night and this place does live up to its name as a social hub in the neighborhood. The food was served piping hot and everything was delicious, but the mango mousse cake was exceptionally delicious.
Thai food is my hands down favorite and this place will not disappoint for anyone else who enjoys Thai food. From what I saw, it's entirely run by women and man do they do a fantastic job! My visit was with a group of 7 and we tried almost every appetizer including both types of wings, dumplings, curry puffs, calamari and others, drunken noodles, fried rice, pork chop, salad, and red curry. Thank you to the ladies at Thai Social for making it a great evening. Quality of Food - 5: Definitely fresh and authentic Service - 5: The staff was extremely attentive and super quick with food service. Price - 4: Can be pricey but if you want good stuff you tend to pay for it and in today's world, everything is quite expensive. We left a cash tip for the service but the staff was very quick and honest in pointing out that a tip / gratuity was already included in the check amount. For their honesty, we left the cash tip as well. Ambiance - 4: Clean, Small place, outdoor dining available and more of a dating setup than a family night out but they can accommodate a small group (call ahead and make reservations if you have a group). NY Parking: Metered street parking is available right in front and to the side but if you park a block ahead or a block after (where the condos are) - parking is free! Will definitely return. Enjoy!
I order from Thai Social through Uber Eats, and every order has been packaged really well. Anytime I needed customizations, I either called or left notes and they handled it smoothly without extra charges. I have spent a little over $200 with them so far and they have been consistently solid. If you are thinking about ordering, I can confidently say they do a great job, especially with packaging and attention to detail. Called and shared my positive feedback with Tammy the manager
Delicious quality Thai restaurant. Perfect spot to end the day and enjoy a casual dinner after playing tennis nearby. We ordered medium spiciness for a couple of dishes (you can order not spicy, medium, and hot) and the medium was just enough to make me sweat a little but not too overbearing--perfect amount. Everything was delicious. I'm excited to return!
This place was packed. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the curry puffs and papaya salad which was a bit overpowering with fish sauce. For our main dishes we had the crispy pork belly and the beef short rib penang. It was fall off the bone tender and the sauce seemed like it was added after the ribs were boiled tender. Our waitress was really efficient, maybe a little to efficient. She was quick and pulled stuff off the table even though we were finished using it.
The food was not great. We ordered the Thai wings for our appetizer, and it tasted as if they air fried them. I actually had better wings from my 15 year old daughter. The wings were nothing special. Then, the fried rice lacked the Thai authenticity and flavors we've come to enjoy. On the other hand, my wife did enjoy the drunken noodles. The waiter gave us lackluster service, with little sense of care.
Well, I have to say that the food is on point, but I just didn’t like the customer service you know being treated bad with an online order and yet showed the lady. The receipt on my phone told her the name etc. but still proceeded to ask me all these other questions For ? Don’t need to Steal anybody’s order . But yet she didn’t do that to the other guy that just gave a name not cool, whatsoever but that little Interaction just really turned me off. Very vibrant atmosphere but please do better with your customer service treat everyone equal… Would’ve gotten five stars.
My family and I used to be avid customers of Thai Social for 4 years now, since they opened around 2022. The customer service used to be really friendly, welcoming and kind. The food portions were great for the price and the drinks were fantastic too! Over the years, particularly in 2024, the customer service of the waitresses became very hostile in their communication and serving. Side note: my family has always tipped well and been kind to them. Their food portions, particularly of their 'Drunken Noodles' and 'Basil Fried Rice' have decreased in size but, their flavor and spice levels never fail to impress-- i'll give them that! Their food is always tasty and flavorful. One particular problem about Thai Social is that they are *not* wheelchair accessible. The doorway of entry/exit is really narrow and there is a slight inclination at the door which makes rolling a wheelchair a bit difficult. The space inside is also super tight and as a result, wheelchair customers are usually forced to sit at the front, near the windows. An additional note, when they just opened, they had their chocolate lava cake listed as 'Hot Chocolate Lava Cake with Ice-cream' however, their lava cake has never been hot, always cold-- maybe that's how they served it there but, it was brought to their attention multiple times and it was always dismissed. Eventually they changed the name of the dessert. In summary, their prices may have remained stagnant but their portions have decreased, the customer service has become a bit condescending and rude and the establishment is not accessible for wheelchair-using customers. Our visitation at Thai Social has reduced significantly due to these reasons, despite the restaurant being nearby and convenient.
Pros: The place is very nice. The decor is beautiful. The staff is also a top-notch professional staff. I worked in the restaurant business for 30 years and know a good staff. The Christmas music or music in general was excellent. I worked in the Rainbow Room and the Hotel Plaza Athena/La Regence among other 5-star restaurants over the years so I know a bit about restaurants. Cons: The portions are too small for the price. Americans like to be over fed. A $22 dollar dish of dumplings should not be served in a small butter plate and there should be more dumplings. I think there was just 5 tiny green dumplings and they didn't taste very good. I had the Fried Duck which was $22. It was about 6 small slithers of dry duck breast so thinly sliced; I had trouble tasting the fried exterior of the meat/duck. They should charge $28 for the plate and serve half a fried duck. Let the customer slice it themselves. The white rice that came with the plate was boring. What could be the extra cost of a few Thai spices to be added to the rice. The rice was so bland it took the rest of the dish down. The dish was also served with too little sauce. The drinks are about $15 to $22 each. They are served in standard small glasses like some cheap bar. Thai/Asian restaurants should always use large ornate glasses when charging so much for a drink. What's the cost $ of a little extra juice and a tad bit more liquor. I walked away thinking it was a nice restaurant with nice people but cheap portions for far too much money. Many people don't go back to restaurants that serve cheap portions. Repeat business or building a following is vital for the survival of any restaurant. Sadly, I don't think I will be going back to this place, they left me no reason to go back. I went home and made myself a hamburger.
Love the decor and bar. However I felt rushed dining in since I arrived around 8:15pm and note, they close the kitchen at 10pm. We were brought our appetizers and before we were done, they were asking to remove our plates. Skip the grilled scallops on skewers, it was overcooked. Must try the fried fish with mango. Beautiful dish and had a great balance of flavors and textures. Fish on its own was flavorful but the sauce made it less dry. Coconut pudding dessert was good but way tiny, for the value.
I’ve been coming here regularly and have always loved everything about this place. Unfortunately, this time the experience was disappointing. The food was really bad—I’m not sure if the chef changed or if it was just because we came close to closing time. We were really hungry and had to wait quite a while, so it was frustrating to receive food that didn’t meet the usual standards. Honestly, I wish I could get my money back. I’m giving 2.5 stars only because of my previous good experiences, but I truly hope this was just a one-time slip.
The staff was extremely nice and inviting. However, the food was underwhelming. Not tasty at all. The papaya salad had more lettuce at the bottom than it had papaya. It was supposed to be "medium" spicy and was zero spice. I asked if it was "Thai medium spicy" or "American medium spicy". It wasn't even American medium spicy. The fried rice was more ginger and basil than anything. I understand flavor but that was too much. I've been to Asia and ate Thai food. This is not even close to thai food. I mean their main dish is calamari. I should have known but gave it a go based on reviews. The cooks in the back were not Thai. For 3 of us, the bill came out to $150. It was not worth it. But the service was great. I cannot deny that.
The staff of this restaurant is extremely arrogant. Do we owe you millions of dollars? If you don't want to do it, you can tell your boss instead of losing your temper with us.
The portion sizes here are honestly ridiculous. I paid $20 for a single dish and the amount of food I got was laughable, more like a snack than a meal. It feels like they’re cutting corners and overcharging at the same time. The taste wasn’t good enough to justify how tiny the portions were. Total waste of money. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for real value.
I was very disappointed with my experience at Thai Social. The food tasted reheated rather than freshly prepared. The chicken was extremely dry, overly salty, and the seasoning seemed to sit on top of the meat instead of being properly cooked into it. The texture was tough and stringy, which made it unpleasant to eat. Even the dumplings were dry and lacked flavor, which is the first time I’ve ever had dumplings that tasted this poor. Unfortunately, the meal did not feel fresh or well-prepared, and I had to throw most of it away. I truly hope the restaurant improves its quality control and freshness because customers deserve food that is properly cooked and enjoyable. I got the steam mushroom dumplings, the Zabb wings, fried “Thai Social” dumpling, and pictured here is the spicy Thai herb pork spareribs.
Wow. What an experience. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to pay $20-30 for a dish that comes with five or six pieces of meat (and that’s after paying extra!), this is your place. Truly revolutionary portion control. I didn’t know I signed up for tapas, but apparently I did. The food was impressively oily, too. If you’ve been looking for a meal that doubles as a face moisturizer, congratulations, you’ve found it. Service? Absolutely iconic. You walk in and immediately become a ghost. No greeting, no acknowledgment… honestly, it’s kind of magical. I’ve never felt so irrelevant. The décor is stunning in that “we haven’t updated anything since the 90s but here are some fake flowers to distract you” kind of way. The lighting is nostalgic, reminds you of your childhood living room, if your childhood living room was stuck in 1994. Overall, if you’re craving tiny portions, a gallon of oil, zero customer service, and retro lighting, run, don’t walk. This place checks every box.
