Hobee's is a popular spot for brunch, known for its friendly service and cute atmosphere. Customers rave about the coffee cake. Some find the food inconsistent, but many become regulars, especially for weekend brunch.

This is a fantastic spot for breakfast, especially if you're attending a meeting at Oracle or Redwood Life. It's within walking distance from nearby hotels, and there's free parking available. Our food arrived quickly, and the customer service was excellent. I tried the chicken quesadilla with hash brown. It was a delicious way to start the day. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I've become a regular here now for weekend brunches. I love it! I'm glad to have such a reliable and delicious restaurant so close to my house. The food is always consistently good, their menu is huge too, and the service is mostly always fast and efficient. There are some servers who are living in the clouds but given it's an island themed restaurant, everyone can afford to relax a little! I always have a great meal here and will continue to return as long as I'm in the area.
We’ve been coming to this area for years and just discovered this restaurant. Richard our waiter was better than outstanding, he was friendly, patient and caring. As you can see from the pictures the food was presented hot. Let’s just say the taste was top of the line. Next time in SF we will stop again.
Great hospitality, the restaurant was very cute! Best of all, their selection and qualify of food was spectacular. We ended up coming here for breakfast two days in a row!
First time customer. But will definitely be coming back. They have a good selection for breakfast. All the usuals like pancake and omelettes. But they also have a nice, basic salad bar with an AYCE option, currently at $10. Because we were there so early, instead of soup, they offered oatmeal with all the wonderful add-ones (sliced almonds, dried cranberries, coconut flakes, walnuts & more). Salad bar included a delicious selection of fresh fruit. Salad greens were crisp and string beans and broccoli were perfectly blanched. Breakfast potatoes were cooked well and nicely flavored. The blueberry coffee cake, with whipped butter (not margarine) was light and quite good, not overly sweet. It was a huge slab. The location is next to a Motel 6. Off the freeway with lots of parking. Their staff are friendly, knowledgeable of their offerings and attentive. Place is bright and airy. Not fancy, in a good way. Good value for good food.
I've always loved these chains for brunch and breakfast (I wish they were open for dinner!) Anyone who grew up on the Peninsula like myself knows they have the best food, healthy but still savory. This particular location is next to a hotel and everyone at that hotel should definitely eat here!
This is an American diner meets California hipster. Very heavily leaning towards California hipster. You have your standard American diner fare like eggs, bacon, toast and coffee, but also California hipster stuff like power bowls, avocado toast, and various kinds of eggs Benedicts. The specials menu even had sweet potato hash browns! Sounds delish. I came here two days in a row. On day one I got the seven vegetable medley power bowl with red potatoes, chicken and pesto. You can choose between red potatoes or brown rice pilaf, your choice of protein and sauce. Hits all the macro nutrients that I need and is tasty! The second day I got the Silicon Valley power bowl. You can choose your protein, either brown rice pilaf or sweet potatoes, and sundried tomato pesto or regular pesto, or combo of two pestos. I feel full and refreshed from eating a delicious and well balanced diet (it made up for the 1/2 bag of chips I ate last night 😂). The interior is pleasant, and it's kid friendly. They have high chairs, ample space for strollers and a changing table in the bathroom. It was busy on a Sunday lunch so the noise of the background chatter drowned the baby's screeches of joy. (yes, the baby was happy and screeching!) No need to feel bad that I may be disturbing other customers. I'd definitely come back again, there's enough interesting things on the menu that I'd love to try! Too bad they close at 2-3pm every day. I'd come here for dinner if it were open.
The least crowded hobee location around. Great food and service. Though I wish the hash browns were cooked longer. Ask about the private meeting room it is huge.
I had a small revelation this morning. With rare exceptions, I always feel a little disappointed with breakfast restaurants. Today, I realized it is because I always compare them to Hobee's and they just come up short. 30+ years ago when I lived in the Bay Area, we would go to Hobee's on a regular basis. My wife and I have always missed it since moving away. Today, we were able to return and have a great breakfast. Oh, the coffee cake, the cinnamon orange tea, the DeAnza Bowl and High Hat Ommie.... Nothing like it in the world and thus my eternal disappointment. Obviously we will have to make the drive again.... And again or live life forever sad.

California comfort food. I've been going to Home's since I was in college. Sad that the Palo Alto location at Town and Country closed, but this one has the same great menu and friendly atmosphere. Top request for breakfast from my kids.
Best part of Our trip was eating at this restaurant. The service was excellent. The food was the best. and the people were so nice to us.We will be back!
I usually never leave reviews, but for this one, I had to. Best restaurant experience ever! Food, service, atmosphere, everything is amazing!
Richard was friendly, courteous, and fast. People may need to re align their expectations, because this meets every description of a typical breakfast joint. They don't make everything, but what they do have they do well. They're not open all day because like I said before, they do what they're good at, breakfast and lunch. Thanks!
It was quiet so that you could hear each other speak. Loved the tamale casserole, very similar to what I used to cook at home. Everyone was happy with their meal.
Great breakfast and lunch place. Good mix of healthy and comfort food choices. A lot of regulars. This particular location can be a bit noisy, though.
Went here and i liked it alot. I got the breakfast burrito and it was perfect. The blueberry coffee cake which is their signature item was awkward because I'm used to the regular kind but i was pleasantly surprised by it
Loved the food and the service my waiter was amazing. Every time i come to the motel 6 i am gonna eat there. I love it. Which is very rare for me to actually like a restaurant completely.
I miss having a hobees near me! The food is delicious and the portions are large. Server was super friendly. Atmosphere is fine and clean.
Super nice employees! Excellent food! Not one thing to complain about!
The workers were really nice and the food was fantastic and the Best part was that the bun on my burger has actual seeds in it lol really love it 5 stars. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I've been a fan of Hobee's for many years. despite limited service, due to covid-19 concerns, I was pleasantly surprised at my most recent experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the BDBIT with hashbrowns supremo and wheat toast. what I found so incredible is then instead of just putting all the food in a clamshell to-go container, they thoughtfully placed the toast in its own pastries bag to preserve the toasty goodness. It goes without saying that hobee's cinnamon orange iced tea is a must!
Found this place through Google Maps reviews and thankful we did. Started off with the blueberry coffee cake (which is big; share it with someone like I did) and then had the chorizo and eggs made into a burrito. Really good, quick, and priced well. An excellent option for breakfast.
The pumpkin pancakes were to die for! Service was great despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy. The orange-spice is over the top strong, watch out for your enamel. :) The outside seating along the entry way is ok, too bad they don't have a real patio...
I love that this Hobee's rarely has a wait. It's very roomy between tables, which is great because we still roll our baby in the stroller while we eat. It would not be possible at other breakfast or brunch places. The service is attentive and friendly and they were on the spot with coffee refills. This is becoming our go-to casual brunch spot!
Great for families or just by yourself. Food is always delicious, staff is always happy and friendly. Always parking. Last but not least, they have the best coffee cakes and they always have a seasonal flavor.
Hobee's was the perfect combination of service and deliciousness. I enjoyed one of their "South of the Border" omelettes which came with a large side of coffee cake. The coffee cake was to die for! The Red, White, & Blue smoothie was exquisite. The portion sizes were excellent and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend Hobee's as a breakfast or brunch spot on Sundays.
This place is a hidden gem!!!!! Great service and food. We were greeted with a smile and thanked as we left. My eggs were phenomenal!!!! Hats off the chef. GOT DAMN.
Always great food and great customer service!! I love it!! :) Been going since I was a young kid! The staff here are kind and caring and really want to make sure their customers are happy and well served. I love it here and it's a great gem on the Peninsula <3
Love them! Great food and friendly staff. I frequent there when I take my lunch break it's a good place to get away for an hour or so and have some food and just relax. They have the best coffee cake ever. I only wish they were open later they're only open for breakfast and lunch.
sleeper hit! excellent menu, very vegetarian friendly (swap eggs for tofu!) food is fresh and high quality. wish i knew about this place when i lived in the area! recommend the coffee cake, eggs benedict, and specialty hash browns!
Excellent scrambles, omlettes, and browns (potatoes with other tasty ingredients on top, Sonoma browns a personal favorite). Always have specials matched to the nearest holiday. Specialty coffee cake rotates regularly, but classic blueberry always a great choice. We have had bad coffee here once in a while; if that happens to you don't hesitate to ask for a fresh pot.
We've been going to Hobees for more than 15 years and while the frequency of our visits has changed from year to year, the food and service maintain a steadily good quality. A great brunch option that's as healthy as you want to make it :-)
The breakfast was delicious but the coffee cake was even better . It was so moist and fresh . It was less than $4 you can't find that anywhere in the bay area . They have seasonal cake too.
Large dining room helps cut out the long wait. Great food, lots of vegetarian options. It seemed healthier that other breakfast spots. The Hobee's Iced Tea was very refreshing.
Heaping breakfast and lunch plates, with fantastic coffee cake and iced tea. Servers are super friendly although sometimes it can be busy.
Hobee's is a Silicon Valley institution. The food is excellent and probably best know as a breakfast place, though they have solid lunch options. This location is attached to a 101 adjacent hotel but it might as well be standalone. It looks like most of the patrons are locals looking to get their Hobee's fix. Wait times can be long on weekend mornings. But it's worth it.
Whether I come for the food or atmosphere or both, Hobee’s Restaurant never lets me down. Make sure to ask for Richard’s section! Also, the earlier you come the better! They have a nice variety of meals from a vegetarian scramble, to amazing coffee cake, wonderful cinnamon tea (iced or hot) or even oatmeal.
A conference at the motel 6 next door brought me to Hobees and the most phenomenal representative of the restaurant industry Richard. Most impressed with him ( he remembered 17 orders, several with special requests without a hitch and NO order slip! Um, wow!) and then when my breakfast came...tasty perfection is all I can say. Best service, great food, great proportions and calm atmosphere. Both times I went the manager was on the phone, taking orders and arranging for meetings. It's a decent size place and I get the impression that all who work there take pride in what they contribute and it shows. Great job Hobees on Shoreway.
They have a dedicated gluten free menu, which made me feel safe to order here. There aren't a lot of options but if you are celiac, they will prepare them separately, which is great. I had an Eye Opener (scrambled eggs with potatoes and bacon) and it was tasty. Service was very good. The iced drinks menu looked interesting too - will come back to try some more!
I've been going to Hobee's for years - consistent excellent food and service.
Hands down the BEST BREAKFAST spot in the bay I am not kidding. The hash brown omelette was unbelievable, They have amazing salsas and tomato basil pesto omelette that is to die for. Not to mention their legendary coffee cake is the best coffee cake I’ve ever had! And you absolutely have to top it off with Abuelitas mocha. Just make sur two mix it ◡̈ Thank you to our server, Jose for amazing service.
It’s tucked a bit out of the way but it’s a favorite for occasional morning meetings. The staff are very friendly, attentive and caring. The food is top notch, they specialize in coffee cake which is always a wonderful treat as it come on the side of most breakfast mains. I usually get a veggie scramble- a healthy and delicious pairing to the coffee cake. Much love for this place.
The service and food here are exceptional. It is a true California classic restaurant. I love their different Benedict’s, their power bowls as well as their classic pancakes and french toast. Don’t forget to have their crumb cakes too. Yum. Hobee’s is like going on a California vacation. Treat yourself.
Good experience every time. The people there are so nice and the coffee cake is top tier (always blueberry and always another flavor that rotates) - I get the florentine scramble or the hi-hat omelette for my main course and they’re delicious
I've been here several times and although it's out of the way, we still come back. The service is good and they have outdoor seating now. It's relaxing and the food is good. The blueberry coffeecake is a reliable item, but everything else is good too. Good for families and kids.
Amazing service with Richard, he was such a kind and funny gentlemen and a very attentive server. I'd go back just to have him serve me again. But the food was also amazing. I got the Dulce de Leche French Toast which is like a caramel on top of French toast and it was a very delicious and unique take on a classic breakfast dish. Their coffeecakes are to die for and a must order no matter what you get. The blueberry coffeecake was great.
I ate there every day for breakfast and lunch 5 days in a row! They have the friendliest staff, delicious and affordable food! I enjoyed the french toast and pancake platters. The pork sausage is some of the best I have ever eaten! And also had eggs over easy with cheese that was quite good, and they have fresh squeezed orange juice!! I could go on with accolades but I will end with Hobee’s has a lovely & well cared for environment, they serve scrumptious food you could have every day without tiring of it and they employ exceptional staff and management! Richard was one person at Hobee’s that made my experience there special!
Have been in the area 8 years and have not been here until today. Boy have I been missing out. The food was great. Service was fantastic, didn't have to wait for refills on drinks, the staff are very attentive. The muffins are hugh. The restaurant was nicely decorated inside. The price is on spot. I had an omelette. Oh how yummy. Thanks for a great breakfast experience.
A Bay Area classic that Never Disappoints. I've been coming to Hobee’s for years, and it’s always consistently good. The staff is super friendly, the famous blueberry coffeecake ,Life-changing. Perfect spot for a relaxed breakfast or brunch with families and friends
Went here several times over the 5yrs when we’re in the area. It sort of hit or miss for us, since it was great at the beginning…great service, great foods, great vibe to whatever service, still great foods, and just cool vibe. This time, it’s just okey overall. Plenty of parking and good location since it nearby or next to several hotels & motels. We got seated right away, and easy order with a nice waiter since we knew what we wanted, since then he only stoped by to drop off the foods and then gave us the check. No check in between. The place is big layout and simple decor. It reminds me of diner setting like. The foods are hot and good and very tasty, especially the blueberry coffee cake (we alway order this everytime we’re here). Price wise, it’s high but worth it - for us, it Is a good place for breakfast and will continue stop by whenever we’re in the area so sure.
Hobee’s is an interesting little spot to grab breakfast. It’s got a quaint atmosphere that feels a bit like a friendly neighborhood diner, but with a Motel 6 spin. The food was hit or miss for me. The smoothie and coffee cake were excellent. The main dish? Not so much. They include little slices of fruit on the side that were both extremely unripe. It would have been better to not include them at all. All of that said, the staff were very friendly and attentive. It’s not a bad place to eat, but I’m not sure it’s a first choice for me personally.
I travel for work so I have only been here for about 7 months now. I came here one day to get breakfast for take out and it was so good I have been coming here at least 2 -3 times a week. I would probably come 5 days a week if they were open past 3pm. From the looks of the menu they have a lot of choices, but me being a creature of habit I tend to order the same thing EVERY TIME. And every time I order it is always great. I come here so often the manager knows my order( the eye opener w/ scrambled eggs , ham, and blueberry coffee cake). Service is fast. I have never waited more than 10 mins for my order, Even when it is busy. Food is really good. The portions are very generous. I never eat the whole coffee cake because it is a HUGE piece of deliciousness 🙂. My eggs are always cooked to perfection which is a big thing to me. I do not like runny eggs. So overall food is good. Atmosphere there looks good. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Special shout out to Modesto who always knows my order.
It is a nice place. It has decent food. And the prices are contemporary: a bit high for me, but on par with other similar places.
The coffee cake was amazing! It came out hot with melted butter all over it. The service was prompt and courteous. We were there after the initial breakfast rush, so we had no wait. Never ate at Hobee's before, but will likely return.
Reliable, good breakfast. The coffee cake is the star and always excellent. I always get the BDBIT as my main, and three out of four are delicious, but once in a while it arrives just warm not really hot, and with scrambled eggs you really want it hit. I think that just comes with the larger restaurant - sometimes food sits for a few minutes before the server gets it to the table. Prices are really good, and the parking is simple. They have a kids menu.
Hobee's is a great place to get a brunch or lunch. They've got omletes, burgers, and sandwiches. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and they place is tastefully decorated. This is a great place to go if you want to chat over some food with friends.

Great place for mostly healthy options. You won't find any burgers on the menu but they have a great salad bar, twists on egg options and the coffee cake that comes with most Entrées is an absolute must. I can't give it a 5th star because the restroom at Hobbes's is down right a disappointment.
Always a treat to eat here. The shredded zucchini (a current special) was pretty bland and mushy, I'd skip it. House iced tea is amazing and the bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato sandwich is great! Service was good.
Everything was perfect except for one thing. My egg whites on sunny side up eggs were still pretty wet and underdone. Everything else about this place is homey, big portions, tasty flavors and everything u could want for breakfast. I didn't want to tell them about the eggs because I wasn't alone. I bet lunch is good too but haven't had it yet.
We went there with the kids for breakfast. Definitely recommend this place. They have a pretty good kids menu. We got 1 Mickey mouse pancake for the kids. It was more than enough since they are toddlers. They share have a new egg white omlette called the El Camino that is topped with basil pesto- highly recommend trying it. Overall the portions are large so be careful when ordering.
No waiting for seating and a spacious seating arrangement. Fast waiting service. Choice of menu items or small bar, which includes salad options. Birthday specials for kids! Very clean and good worker attitudes. Prices seem reasonable based on portions served.
Hobee's runs on island time, so prepare for a relaxed experience. The specialty tea with orange and cinnamon (heavy on the cinnamon) was a bit of a shock, but an interesting and pleasant change. The food was highly stylized in the Hawaiian theme and well prepared. We enjoyed the casual lunch and very pleasant staff.
it has good food. Not the best though. It does have good pancakes though. But it has okay service. They were dumping ice for the salad bar when we were their and it is noisy. Advice they should take care of those things before they opened.
This is an old fashioned restaurant to get good American food at a reasonable price and nice portions. I had the BLT with avocado and it was fresh and tasty. I saw salads and breakfasts that looked really yummy too.
Coffee cake is fabulous. Great breakfast and lunch dishes. Easy vibe.
For was solidly good. I'd give mine a 3.8 but that's not an option. My husband said "delicious" about his omelet. I just got back from Nicaragua so my taste buds may be skewed from the amazing food there. My bowl was a standard American/Mexican bowl of flavor. I LOVE the proximity to the #motel6 / #studio6 where we stayed. I'd drive to this place but we didn't have to. We walked. Staff was very friendly. This was a pleasant restaurant with tons of options! The variety was amazing. I'd say this is a great place for a large group/ family for anyone in the area. I hear their coffee cake is standout. Also their French toast. I'm gluten free so I'm thinking I didn't get to try their best options.
Great little spot for food and the blueberry coffee cake - what? Out of this world! I haven't been disappointed here yet. It's a good place for a good meal. The service is always outstanding. It isn't upscale but it's a good spot. Parking can be difficult and they do close in the later afternoons. Reasonable prices, good portions and good service - what else do you need for a consistently good meal?
This place serves a really solid breakfast, fast and hot, with some super friendly characters taking care of the customers and the kitchen. It is on the same property as a low-rent Motel6, so you also get a steady stream of eclectic characters wandering in from there, as well as a bunch of senior citizen regulars (who obviously just LOVE this place). I visited a handful of times, and had a couple of different omelettes, all of which struck a great balance between egg, ingredients and sauce. I was always seated quickly, served with friendly professionalism, and thanked by each and every staff when I left. Kind of a hidden breakfast option there on Shoreway in Belmont, but worth making a trip if you like good quality comfort food breakfast.
The atmosphere is little loudy but food and service is excellent. You will find some vegetarian options to eat but not many. Here vegetarian food includes egg white so you need to specify before ordering.

Bunch date to catch up with some friends and we came across this classic diner. Starting with the wonderful service, our waiter was great he was patient and didn't forget a thing. Grand finale the food, most of the food came out all together some items look a little longer than usual. Everything hit the spot for our breakfast cravings, leaving all plates empty. Give this place a shot if in the area.

All the staff members polite and lovely. If I had to rate the food I would have to get it a 7 Stars. The food was like a home cooked meal. Over all it was like being home for the holidays.
I come here a lot and love it, it's just the other day a server basically yelled at me to move out of his way. I understand you guys are busy but as a server myself, you need to ask nicely. Everyone around including my date looked at me and it was extremely embarrasing and rude. I didn't say much because I understand I guess but still ruined a lot of the experience for me. Please be kind to customers.
I've been a fan of Hobee's for years, but I had never been to this location until recently. I was underwhelmed. I would have given 2*, but I added one since they at least have a tofu scramble (more on that below). To be fair, I am trying to eat mostly vegan these days, so my selections were different than the past. The tofu scramble was ok, but it could have been better. The tofu wasn't very scrambled, so the seasonings we're as thoroughly mixed in as I would expect. I also tried the pancake special of the day, which was so-so. Even the coffeecake, which is usually one of the best around, was a disappointment. It was a bit stale and noticeably microwaved. I may give this locations another try since it's the closest to home. Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day.
Compared to the wonderful food available in the Bay Area the food I had (a breakfast special with eggs and salmon) was huge but substandard. It was tasteless and looked boring; the small "salad" was a sad joke of stale yellowy greens. The latte wasn't great, decor was blah, service acceptable. $20 was too much for that meal. More like two and a half stars.
I've been here about a year ago, and wasn't as happy with the food. The cinnamon orange hot tea had way too much cinnamon. And my veggie scramble lacked flavor. Disappointing,...Will try again though in the hope the food gets better.
Lower priced but portions are small. Food is average. Service was on point. Lots of parking, not crowded , very large menu.
The omelet just had too much stuff on it and in it. Salsa, sour cream, guacamole, tuns of black beans and cheese. Could not enjoy the eggs. The bacon was mostly fat. But the staff were really nice and helpful.

Country hash browns had soggy leftover dry bits. Salmon potatoes and eggs. The potatoes were black but not entirely burnt. Could still eat. The small pieces of salmon were dry.
Tried to get spaghetti, first they gave me fettuccine then linguini. Maybe don't get pasta here i should have known better but had a hankering. I just ate the linguini, sauce was very garlicky. The baked goods look dry, didn't try the cocktails. Pretty big space but not quite. The server was really good maybe they have a decent breakfast but it looked greasy. My not spaghetti was also pretty greasy.
Well where to start... First, who charges $3.15 for a soda that is never refilled? Next the food was dry, and fried potatoes? Who needs grease? This place presence itself as healthy and are far from it. The staff was impolite and rarely visit the tables. If I could give a negative I would.
Gave small town diner vibes with bland and no flavor options. Would not recommend.
Hash browns were more like boiled potatoes couldn't find a single brown in them. My omelette was served sitting in liquid. Fruit plate was way past its prime. When I go to a restaurant I expect the food to be enjoyable not inedible.
