This was my go to place in high school and after living around the country and internationally for a few years, I had to come back when visiting the bay. This sandwich shop is the sandwich shop in which I have judged every other sandwich shop and always found them lacking. I figured I was holding it to an impossible standard built from biased memory. But no, it is just that good. I highly recommend the 19th hole, they can go heavy on the garlic sauce so feel free to adjust it to your taste. They will make exactly what you want. They will make you exactly what you didn't know you always wanted. You will never be able to enjoy another sandwich after this.

MR PICKLE is a living cult. I wish there was one in North Beach. This is one of the best type of sandwiches in the Bay Area. Comparable with other upper scale sandwich shops nearby, this is arguably the best of the best. Actual chicken pieces chopped up and not sliced thin, sprouts are an option. CASH ONLY. I love it. Sometimes the ATM's are broken in their stores be aware of that. The one in SF is AMAZING, and so is the staff. Very family friendly.

Mr. Pickles makes em right. Pesto is their secret sauce, but the real magic is balance: right amount of crunch, moisture, savory, salty, and acidic. Try the pastrami on Dutch crunch with everything. Big ups to Walter who's always there and has the sandwiches waiting when I call ahead.

Ordered ahead but arrived in about 5 minutes. Staff knew I was there but my order was not ready until 10 minutes late and others that came and ordered at the counter while I was waiting got there orders before me. Lesson, don't order ahead if you're going to be early. Sandwich wad great as always. Fresh ingredients and the Dutch crunch bread is my favorite.

Best turkey sandwich I've ever gotten from a sub shop. Simple, fresh veggies, but it's the little bit of that garlic sauce that made it slam. Looking forward to going back.

Ordered Napa Nibbler with olives. Delicious! Note for improvement: I thought the vegan chicken was good, I would’ve liked it even more if it was crunchy on outside. Still worth ordering again. Thanks for serving vegan options!

The world needs more sandwich shops and this is the type of place to keep them going! I got the #13 on toasted Dutch bread and it was fantastic (I missed taking a picture because I dove right in). Highly recommend getting an additional pickle on the side as well. They’re gigantic! I wish I lived in the area to be a regular but I will definitely be back.

Amazing customer service! The manager made our awesome sandwiches on point even though I wanted mine specifically without lots of sauce; he custom made my turkey cranberry on wheat to healthy, tasty perfection! Then he continued to check on us with a huge smile. Will be returning!!

Fast, friendly, efficient service and delicious food! The young man in the afternoon with the nose ring is always jovial and remembers my order by heart. Large portions and extensive menu, the vegan and vegetarian options are amazing. 10/10 would eat here again

I placed an order here at the san mateo location. My veg sandwich didn't have the tomatoes, sprouts of avocado in it, I also asked for toasted but it wasn't toasted. Not happy at all.

Decent sandwiches. If you're looking for fast food, this chain will probably provide you something that's less greasy and salty as other options. If you're looking for a good sandwich, you may consider walking across the street to the Greedy Ant, a non-chain, locally-owned shop that does very nice sandwiches plus also has great cheeses and charcuterie.
