Soul in the food and soul in the team. 100/10 SPLENDOR I’m not exaggerating when I say that I ate the plate clean. The Catfish was hot, fresh, flavorful, beautiful; it exceeded my expectations for such an exotic dish that I’d never before tasted in my life. You could taste the passion and the careful precision of the cooks in every bite of any dish. To add compliment to praise, the pricing is very affordable for the amazing food and experience they provide. The waiters were considerate and generous TO A FAULT. In my entire life I’ve never been given such an experience as I received here. Their customer service was phenomenal. This restaurant truly gives you a fine dining experience and atmosphere that punches far beyond its first impressions. It’s clear that this team and these chefs know what they’re about and can bring their merits to the table. It does an absolute service to Asian cuisine and never relents. For what they charge they far over-deliver on their cooking, presentation, and service. You can tell they cook with love and with devotion and those are things that cannot be fabricated. These people are most humble and yet, most certainly will be going places in life. 10/10 would recommend to visit again. This place is, without a doubt in my mind, a priority destination.
Downtown Oakland gem. We were all delighted with service and food. We had corn dog, Saucy Veggie Udon with tofu, Garlic Noodles with Shrimp, Salt and Pepper wings and Garlic Shrimp Plate. After sampling everything...not a bad dish was had. They have an extensive Sake menu. Service was attentive and we wanted for nothing. Would 100% recommend.
My new goto place in Downtown Oakland, a true gem with great food, very friendly crew, and a sake selection that leaves nothing more to ask for. I feel very welcome coming here, and just found myself being a returning customer.
Great restaurant for a date night or with a group of friends. Everything is flavorful and filling! We were 5 people total and split a bunch of dishes. Highly recommend the garlic noodles and saucy wings (medium?) We made a reservation for a Friday night but walking in might have been ok too. They have a large sake selection too, unsure what other drinks they have.
Such a nice and cute place! The ambience was really welcoming and casual. The food was exceptional. I thought a lot of the food was creative and the portions were perfect. The Thai corn dogs were such a surprise in taste. It was definitely a highlight for me! Would definitely be coming back!
Delicious!!!! 🤤 This place was the first asian fusion place that I've been to in a while and it was good. The ambiance/decor was great. Went with the family and we just got a bunch of small plates and an entree. We left stuffed and needed a long walk afterwards. They have Singh, Sapporo and a few other drink choices. We got a couple Sake flights, I didn't love mine (unique flight), but Sake isn't my typical go-to/ preference. Service was solid, could have been better. The staff were friendly, but there were extended periods where our waiter didn't check on us. I probably wouldn't have noticed had my wife not wanted to order another round of drinks. All of the food I tried was good. Their short bread pudding with ube ice cream was the bomb. Food: 4.6/5 Service: 4.2/5 Drinks: 4.2/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Price: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.5/5
What a lovely experience. My wife took me out for a date here on a rainy friday night. The staff was so sweet and welcoming. Since my wife ordered the pre-fix menu when making reservations, we just sat and the journey began. Every course was better then the last. The hamachi shooters were a great start. I wish they had a flight of fish shooters. Chef, next time? Don’t want to get into each course. The chef came out at the end to see how our meals was and explained the pre-fix changes all the time. Im not an alcohol drinker, but the sake at this place is great. Next time, will have the sake pairing. Again the food is amazing, but the staff made it that much better. P.s. to the reviews that say that the value is low for the price of pre-fix… lets agree to disagree. I couldn’t even take more than a few bites of my dessert. I was just too full. I did take it home and enjoyed it when i had an appetite again close to 24 after our meal. I’m a big boy. Looking at making reservations again soon.
Had an absolutely delicious meal with my friend at Sauced in July. We shared a few plates for lunch and were both so satisfied. Soy-infused soft-boiled eggs were served with a tasty coleslaw and gave tons of flavor. The garlic noodles were divine with lots of crunchy chili garlic for added texture and just a really good sauce. The steamed buns were a lovely texture for the pork belly bao served up with hoisin, pickled carrots and daikon, and jalapeno.
Not going to sugar coat it, Saucy is one of the best restaurants in Oakland! Their new location boasts subtle, simple vibes in an intimate setting. The aesthetic is crisp and you can smell all the amazing smells coming from the kitchen. There are two dining options, a pre fixe menu or a la cart. We went a la cart the first time around and got basically everything on the menu. The standout? The Hamachi shooters, the Saucy Wings, and the Garlic Noodles. Do not sleep on these. The Hamachi was incredibly fresh, hit with a light tangy ponzu and some crunchy garlic. The wings were sticky, crunchy and incredible. The garlic noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Also, if you're still hungry after those plates, get the Thai corn dogs. The pork and lemongrass nestled inside a perfectly fried batter...omg. You've gotta get Saucy!
Nice little spot in downtown Oakland. Food was great but the portions are a little bit on the smaller side. As a vegetarian, their edamame peas were great to munch on and the pumpkin curry was super delicious!
Incredible array of delicious items, each with its own amazing presentation and flavor. There is no better tasting or looking good and drinks for this price! Happy hour is on point and you can get stuffed and have drinks for under $50 a person...a must go! Also try their chef's tasting menu or just order everything...you won't be disappointed!
Such a cute instagram restaurant! This place is so so so good!! You should definitely try it out!! The chicken wings are a bite of flavor in your mouth.

Love this little gem on the edge of Old Oakland. Ordered off the starter menu and had a delightful meal. Hamachi Spoons, Little Gem Salad and Wings were the highlight. Can't wait to come back for the mains. It rocks.

The space is very cute and a nice vibe We tried the garlic noodles with beef The noodles were delicious. We also had the chicken. We asked them to make eas hot as possible. I would not say they were too spicy but they were definitely tasty. They weren't dry inside, the crunch was fantastic The serving sizes were perfect for two of us
The sake tasting was disappointing—the quality fell short of expectations, and the staff didn’t introduce each sake or explain their pairing choices with the food. It felt more like a creative Asian fusion experience.
The decor was nice. Parking wasn't too bad for brunch and they had a decent sized menu. The food is heavy but pretty delicious. Would I go back? Not sure if the food warrants that.
The hamachi spoons were delicious. The gyoza were tasty, but pretty standard. My friend reported that his cajun seafood boil was quite excellent. However, my pumpkin curry was a bit muddy in terms of flavor and too grainy in terms of texture. On its own, the pumpkin curry would have only been 3 stars, but the other items warrant 4.

Food tastes great but still a little overpriced for the portion sizes. Had to order two rounds of appetizers because of the portion sizes. Service was great, atmosphere was chill and somewhat upscale. Those brussel sprouts & the lettuce wrapped pork belly were fire. You’ll likely pay for parking if you’re driving but definitely within walking distance of hotels or public transportation.

Wanted to like this place but found the food underwhelming. I got the drunken noodles and they were hilariously undercooked and toothy. I think they came from a package and needed to be soaked for 15 more minutes before cooking. A Cambodian friend also got the drunken noodles and was also disappointed. A second friend got the pumpkin curry and was underwhelmed and said the dish fell flat and lacked texture. Cute vibe and atmosphere, great service, lackluster food.

For a place called Saucy, the food was shockingly dry. I got the shrimp dish for $27 and it was literally just dry shrimp a a scoop of rice…it was very disappointing. We also got drunken noodles, which again were a tiny helping of some dry noodles. Lastly we knew to be concerned when they said our entire order would take 5-10 minutes…that felt way too fast and we can see why; there was no effort put into these dishes. Only positive was the service was friendly and the food presentation was lovely.
