Excellent beer, unique atmosphere, and friendly service. Enjoyed the free popcorn and movie night as well!
This is the best brewery in the Bay area. Also their beer garden is very nice! I tried the Temescal Especial & Prague Lager. Both very good!
Great beer garden located very close to the MacArthur Bart station. I love the outdoor patio. Usually, a food truck is parked outside to serve customers.
Beautiful beer garden, vibes, nice bartenders and amazing food pop ups! A must if you're in the bay
Beer is always incredible here! And if you’re lucky to grab a spot on a sunny day, it is tough to consider ever leaving!
A staple in our community that we are lucky to have.
Decent variety of beers brewed right there. I like the pils. Cool arrangements with food trucks to provide hot food. Good times drinking in the beer garden.
Good beer and great food trucks!
Wade and Sam did a great job with this place. Amazing beers, good outdoor space, food truck parking, and friendly people. Most excellent. No Jerks.
Great beer, chill atmosphere, food truck outside changes everyday. This Wednesday was a taco truck. Beer and tacos how can that not be loved.
Great outdoor space, beer, and staff. The only downside is there's only two bathrooms so the line can be very long during events
Great place for some beers and chill vibes! Very dog friendly too so expect to see some cool neighborhood pups.
Solid brewery. Great atmosphere, good vibes, no jerks. Dogs allowed kids allowed. A food truck everyday.
Wonderful quirky brewery with spacious beergarten and a rotating food truck schedule. Great variety of beer.
Great little spot with home vibes and good beer. Look forward to making this a regular stop in the east bay brewery scene.
You can bring in outside food and eat it in their beautiful bet garden. Can't decide on a beer?- They have $2 taster pours.
Good beers and a nice spot
When stepping into Temescal Brewery, you are immediately greeted by a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The combination of laid-back vibes, coupled with the pleasant sound of music playing outdoors, creates an inviting and enjoyable ambiance. It's the perfect setting for unwinding and immersing yourself in the company of friends or engaging in a conversation without feeling rushed.
Great place to grab a delicious beer with friends. Primarily outdoor seating with heat lamps available for the colder nights. They usually have a food truck available to take care of those people who prefer to have something to snack on while tasting one of their in-house brews.
The staff at Temescal Brewing are always fantastic and their beers are some of my favorite in Oakland. I especially enjoy the variety of different styles. They have a great patio with heaters for the chilly bay area nights and on top of all that they have food!
The beer here is fresh and good! The staff are super friendly. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. There are pop-ups food vendors sometimes. Cool vibe. Good for small and big groups.
Awesome fairly new neighborhood brewery/pub. My first time there today. Tried two of their double IPAs. Very tasty! Super chill and cute place. Love the outdoor area.
Incredible brewery with a beautiful backyard and friendly staff! Plus they host a dance party called Queer Magic on every Second Saturday—such a good time, I highly recommend checking it out!
I am visiting from Philadelphia and always love to explore the variety of beers that the west coast offers. Temescal Brewing was two blocks from the air bnb so I checked it out and couldn’t have been more impressed. It isn’t easy to find a brewery that has a cozy atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and quality brews with a solid range in style. I find their beers very crushable which is perfect for when you want to drink and socialize. On a side note they also have amazing playlists and allow you to bring your own food, so I was able to try a bunch of delicious food in Temescal and enjoy it outside at the brewery with some delectable beer. I would absolutely recommend this space if you’re visiting the Bay Area.
Really cool outdoor patio and awesome way of doing contactless delivery right now. You have a get a $2 taco from the food truck to sit down, but it was pretty good. I got the CrispR Lager which A+ Katherine got the Patio Ale B+
The owner of a taco truck named La Costeña with delicious and very affordable tacos ($3, Sept2022) in the East Bay. He doesn't have his own pin but it collaborates with Temescal Brewing so I'm reviewing it here. The truck comes on Wednesdays from 4-10pm. I ordered Tripa, Pastor, and Chicarron (stomach, spiced pork, and fried pork skin) and while all of them were very good, I would highly recommend Tripa and Chicarron tacos. The owner himself says he eats the chicharron one everyday and I can taste why. I don't drink alcohol anymore, but tacos always go great with beer, and lo and behold, Temescal Brewing.
Good vibes, great food truck outside. But don't believe the Google pictures, they do not serve hard cider unfortunately 🙅🏼♀️
They have a great and large patio area to enjoy your beer on a nice day. The beer itself is good, and fairly cheap. I swear the inside of the brewery smells like ovaltine.
Temescal brewery is the neighborhood hangout. They are always coming out with delicious clean tasting new beers and have fast, helpful and friendly service. The rotating food trucks are great as well. I always have to swing by for Papusas.
Wicked good beers in a lively relaxed atmosphere. Weekends are definetly a good time to pop in, have some of thier fresh beers and enjoy whichever food truck has pulled up in front of thier great outdoor patio. If lawn flamingos is on tap, drink it!!!
Lots of people for a Wednesday. It's a very popular place for people to spend the evening. Lots of different kinds of beer are made at the brewery onsite. Some food is served here but not a large selection.
Friendly staff, nice range of beverages, fun events, and tons of seating! This place is my go-to for group gatherings. They host a variety of events supporting different groups and organizations in the community.
Good beer, nice outdoor patio. Kids friendly
Interesting beers, rotate occasionally. Fun trivia nights.
Amazing events, excellent beer, immaculate vibes. Highly recommend!
If Iived in Btown or Oaktown, this would be my regular spot. Fantastic beer with various styles available on tap and in cans. Outdoor beer garden seating is available with a food truck. Helpful and welcoming staff and an inclusive environment for guests. Jerks encouraged to recreate elsewhere.
The beers can be a little fruity or tart but overall taste great. The best part of this place is the patio though. It's so open, sunny, and comfortable for just sipping beers. They also have food trucks or tables selling pupusas most of the time. You can also bring food from wherever too.
I found this brewery through the eventbrite website during their Oktoberfest celebration. I was pleasantly surprised at how cute and cozy this little venue is. The beer is really good and I love that they have great events happening every week and its a different theme every night and good music. The menu items are tasty too! I heard the owner "sharing" with a customer that they have different pop up trucks that they show case as well on certain nights and food specials. I live closer to Lake Merritt but, I will most certainly stop in and lend my support to this really cool spot. The vibe is really chill and inclusive also the staff is friendly. Stop in and ask the owner Brandon to recommend a good beer then buy a six pack to take home. Cheers!
Good brewery in Oakland with outdoor sitting beer garden style. Their patio offers a casual atmosphere which I really liked. They have affordable prices and the beer I had was great (Hazy IPA and Pils). They got various styles on tap and cans. Great brewery to try out, friendly staff. Food is also served here.
Temescal Brewing is one of my favorite breweries to visit in the East Bay. Like lots of places, the beer is good. They have a more interesting selection of beers than I find at most places. The food trucks out front are excellent. The decore is miles ahead of anyone else as is their bathroom game. This winter, for example, it was transformed into a winter resort getaway right in the middle if the city! There were tinsel trees, signs showing them as a “ski village, and even a ski check WITH SNOW SKIS! Staff is friendly and patient. The bathrooms are large, very clean, and supplied with extras like lady products, breathe mints, hand wipes, fentanyl test strips, and Narcan (can’t be too safe). Before you leave, get some beer for takeout. If you choose to give a thumbs-up 👍🏽 or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
Perfect place to chill in the sun with a tasty beer. They have a great selection, you can sample them too. Winter edit: they have a super cool (though heated) tent in their outside area, it feels like being outside bur cozy and warm. Very friendly service.
Making some amazing hazy beers. Great outdoor space. The fun pink-colored vibe of the whole place is unique and refreshing. Awesome food trucks every time we come.
What a cool brewpub! Dig the ski chalet vibe, great outdoor area, and the beer. The Temescal Roast is perfect for a cult night. I'll be back for sure!
Had the Gauva Pilsner today at Temescal Brewing with food from Alma y Sazon, vegan taco truck fare. The torta, taco & flautas were delicious.
Great place! Great beer and awesome taco truck !! Their beer is amazing and the staff is super nice and friendly
I love this dog friendly brewery. They have a great beer selection with friendly service, matched with a comfortable and fun environment. The outdoor patio is awesome and provides plenty of additional seating with easy access to great food from food trucks. FYI the put a tent outside to help keep you warm on those chilly winter nights.
Great Beer Garden for having an Oakland Original Beer from local brewery Temescal. Also, grab a big can of your favorite style and take it home.

The burger was good. The beer too The outdoor seating is nice and spacious
Love the vibe at Temescal any time of day, any season. All the bartenders are kind and warm. The beers are fresh and cold. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. Been coming here for years and plan to make many returns.

Ok good thing I finally dropped by. Great service and actually good selection. Only a 4 star for me because this is an upscale type of environment. Kind of typical San Fran cliental. However the staff did go out of there way to make everyone feel welcome. Just not really my kind of place...... BUT I believe everyone should be visit this place at least once to decide. I will not be back.
Great selection of beers in various styles. Welcoming staff, comfortable space, great beer "garden," and different food trucks daily.
Beers and service are great. The patio is spacious but could use some amenities like heaters.
Decent outdoor spot, nice people, their Pilsner is probably my all time favorite beer
Great outdoor space, but no respite from the cold at night (although I’m kind of a baby in weather below 70). I wasn’t super into the style of the place, I like my breweries I little less try hard on the style side. The beer was decent, not amazing.
Great outdoor patio. They had a food truck but I didn't partake. There's a great selection from beer, and a true rarity, only 1 or 2 IPAs. they really focus on light beers, kolsch, pilsner, lager, and several varieties of each. And if you're a little hungover from the night before, you, they had some micheladas that looked super delicious.
Great place! Small beer menu focusing on beers brewed on site. Available beers rotate. While Temescal Brewing doesn't serve any food, they designed their outdoor area so that it's easy for a food truck to pull up and serve. And they make sure there is always a good truck there! Food truck schedule is generally available a week ahead on their website. One thing: This is not a place for kids! I didn't notice if they are 21+ by law, but even if not, the focus is beer - and that generally isn't a good place for kids.
This is a great place, and I love their first friday event. The only downside is that since there are only 2 bathrooms, you will spend a lot of time waiting in line for one. Some may say this is a feature and not a bug; I always end up meeting people and having pretty interesting conversations in those lines.
Great new brewery, bar and beer garden just a couple blocks from MacArthur BART Station. On a given day they will have an assortment of several beers brewed fresh, with some bottles of other breweries' beers in the fridge. There is indoor seating at the bar, and outdoor seating with bench tables. In the back corner of the outdoor seating area is bicycle parking. They don't serve food (except for free popcorn!), but there are several food options within walking distance (e.g. Church's Chicken, Cafe Eritrea D'Afrique, and there is often a food truck outside). The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and will happily recommend a beer to try if you can't make up your mind.
Good beer and nicely decorated taproom. The popcorn machine is gone so they no longer serve any snacks. It would be nice to at least sell small bags of chips or pretzels.
The beer is great. Most of the seating is outside so it can get chilly. Thy HAVE heaters but won't turn them on until the evening even when it's colder during the day...as if there's a propane shortage or something.
Hip new beer garden far enough up Telegraph that it hasn't turned into a Drake's Dealership yet. Beers are OK price wise, sandwiches seemed spendy. Outdoor area is cool but needs more plant life.
A little research on Temescal reveals it’s a prominent river in the area and when I asked the beertender if they get their water form their namesake they did not. It’s a neighborhood with plenty of history, so I thought some homage would be paid like water source, variety naming, etc. It feels like a coffee shop mixed with an art gallery pinched with the industrial brewing equipment that’s adjoined by a den of hipsters breeding ground. That is to say the nooks and crannies inside saw people streaming wifi on their mac’s and doing what I imagine was college homework. The tile back wall is stark and clean with chalkboard menu’s and ipad registers. It’s popular so the washers are going pretty steady, but the menu is small and growing. I would have fully enjoyed a sour or a gose or a few more saisons, a lager or something creative. The warm smell of popcorn wafted and some curry/tumeric laced spice dust popularly made the popcorn sing. Free popcorn too. Prices on the beer were pretty reasonable, though in that 42-44 degree range versus a 36 degree range I prefer on my IPA’s. The double was not balanced, just bitter, but the single was great, slight sweetness, plenty of floral, great mouth feel. The coffe stout was also excellent, I thought it to be their coffee roots I assumed based on design of the interior. The outdoor wall art seemed disconnected from the other décor/vision. The outdoor patio which is huge (1/3 acre has a dozen long tables and half dozen heaters, alcove seating surrounds along with games. It’s very bike friendly with racks outside. The outside is well decorated and a huge draw for the casual brewery experience. The crowd is young and local. No drunks which was weirdly refreshing on a Friday night, that may be more a product of stature and location. They had a strange growler fill policy or rather sizing regulations, but I didn’t fly with a gallon growler anyhow. Can you fly with a gallon growler? I was impressed because you could tell their vision is inviting, but the execution wasn’t there. Service was great, price was affordable, beers could be bolder and more various. Most breweries of this size have twice the crowd and push 3 times the beer because the beer sells and people want to drink the good stuff. The lighting was cool, but maybe felt a little too open (elements wise) and the set up felt less beer garden than elementary school lunch tables set up. The outter alcoves fit 3 people maybe and the fit and finish of the wood fixtures (seating) were suspect af. I could easily pull a nail out by hand. I’ll return because I’m not that much of a beer snob that just because they didn’t impress me once doesn’t mean that won’t get better. That blocked front door design funneling to the side door entrance makes me scratch my head. I’m rounding up because I liked the popcorn, the size and the single IPA.
Great vibes and a great layout. I have been there 3 times and I've enjoyed the space for each visit. They are a dog-friendly space so it's great if you like dogs. To be honest the beers aren't my favorite. The Brew master prefers mild flavors and they had two mild blonde ales and an IPA that was also quite mild. Not bad at all, just mild.
Love this place and the people who work here. It’s such a welcoming environment and always a little different with their rotating food trucks and seasonal beers. Unfortunately they don’t have any gluten-free alcohol options, so we haven’t been able to come for some time since I developed a gluten-intolerance :( I so wish they had even a “guest” cider, wine, hard kombucha - anything would work!! Their heaters aren’t very strong and half their seating is metal chairs. So if you’re going in the evening, be sure to bundle up - it can get pretty cold sitting outside.
Good craft beers, good vibes! They have clean bathrooms, weekly events, local vendors & food options! I liked their Temascal Noche while my girlfriend liked their Fruitty Sour!
Temescal Brewing was founded in 2016 on the values of Quality, Community & Vibes. During a recent trip to Oakland, we visited on a Saturday and I legit felt the good vibes and community whilst enjoying a flight in their beer garden. I saw with my own eyes several groups of friends happily congregating, and some even brought their toddlers and canine companions. Service was friendly and of the four beers I sampled, my faves were the Pils and POG Seltzer. I tried to go back for seconds on the seltzer but unfortunately they were tapped out. Should you find yourself in the area and you’re a fan of beer, I recommend a visit to Temescal. Cheers!!
I got the michelada which was pretty good, they have a cute outdoor patio as well, on a nice day it is great for enjoying a few beers w friends.
Lovely place! Limited seating inside and more places outside in their beer-garden section but there will be a wait and a line ;) We just grabbed couple chairs and sat by the bar. Place is nice and neat and service is friendly! Good selection of beers well priced $5-8 for a pint! Free popcorn which is always cool ;) Choices of non alcoholic drinks available which comes in handy when you're 7mo prego :P They did have fresh catch today on Sunday (crab feast) but we didn't eat. Lots of places to eat nearby so good location overall.
Definitely one of the better brewery additions to Oakland over the last couple of years. They make very flavorful beers (usually leaning hard on the hops) and have a huge patio space by which to enjoy them. The pastel interior with an ever evolving play list makes for a great place to have an after work drink with co-workers.
It's a good brewery in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland. The beer garden has plenty of seating with the heaters close together. I had a 32 ounce mug of Oktoberfest beer, which I enjoyed. They host food trucks. But, you can bring your own food.
The facility was bright and open and there was a huge beer garden that looked great. The employees were friendly and efficient. I only went with 4 stars though because I wasn't a fan really of any of the beers. They weren't bad beer, they were good. They just weren't as good as some nearby other options. But if in the area, it's totally worth a stop imo.

great little space to grab a beer with friends on the patio. Super relaxed environment, rotating food trucks, and a good patio. the inside space is a little sterile for my taste, the chairs aren't super comfy either. Glad they're still here when we lost so many great brewing companies during the pandemic! Staff is friendly and pricing is pretty on point for the neighborhood they're in.

Experience could’ve been better if the patio was open this past Saturday, but not open due to “poor AQI”, got cans to go. Then headed to Fieldwork, their patio was open... Maybe next time.
Just Ok beer. Nice patio. A bit like a in-and-out of breweries. If you like mariah carey and overly done 90's, you would love this. Not for me though.
Beer was very average, unfortunately. Heaters were meh. Host was nice! Wouldn’t die if I never went back.
Used to love this place when it first opened. The beer is still great vutbthe staff is very unwelcoming and almost very rude One of your beer servers was silent the entire time I ordered a beer. I even asked what's your favorite beer rn and he pointed at one on the bored. I remember the staff was amazing at one point. When nico and Diggs was around.
Food and drinks were great, but don't expect decent service unless you're a regular or know one of the two male bartenders with long hair. I only tipped because I have friends in the industry. Will not be returning. Disregard this review if you're a regular or have a friend who knows the male bartenders
Beer average. Service not so great with some staff. Can’t try their “dessert” beer without buying. Since when can you not try before you buy a beer! Double IPA actually tasted like it should but all other IPA tasted the same.
Beer was ok. They shut our heater off during a company holiday party, during the day because they said they needed fuel for the night time. It was a December day, in the shade and my watch read 60 degrees. What a shame.
Place looked great but never even got to try it...they do not allow any children of any kind, including babies, anywhere in their space. Total bummer. Don't go if you have kids. Or if you're like us and that policy is enough to not make us want to go back.
FYI They will stop serving beer before their food truck stops taking orders. It was 8:35pm
Not sure if the people who served me were new or… So rude especially the white presenting woman and male presenting person with a bun. They grabbed my water cup. Before I could say I wanted my receipt sent to my phone they exited (they were able to give me one) I went to them earlier and it felt like I was interrupting their convo so they seemed annoyed I was there asking for a beer. Sorry?
The beer was ok and the outdoor area nice but at your own risk. We parked across the street on Telegraph and got our car windows smashed in and vandalized within 5 minutes of parking. Locals told us when it happen and it was right after we walked away. This was in broad daylight at 6pm and they said “it happens all the time, it been 3 times for me!” Okay.... not worth it unless you uber in....
Targeted as part of an organized robbery ring operating in the area, after parking where we were told by a staff member. We tried to park right out front in a spot but were told to move our car. In 40 minutes, we lost about $1000 worth of items from our trunk. Within the hour our items were pawned, and overnight were sold illegally by said pawn shop. Do not drive here. Order the delicious beer elsewhere.
Was looking forward to trying this place again (it's been a few years). As I was about to enter, there was someone at the front looking as if she was going to check IDs. Instead she aggressively and rudely informed me that there was a private event and all the tickets had we sold. I'm fine with the place being closed, but you can be nice about it.
