The food he is top notch, the drink selection is great, free popcorn and lovely decor.
Michael is the best and always makes us feel welcome!!
I like The Lodge - drink prices have gone up even in the past year, but an Oly can is still affordable. The current pop-up (Aburaya Hot Dogs) is pretty good, but I kind of liked the last one (Good Time Fixins) better. Here's to hoping Piedmont Avenue can keep an affordable watering hole afloat.
Over the course of a year the Lodge has become a solid choice for Oakland. You can get well made cocktails or just keep it cheap, plus the food is always tempting...
Wow. What a great spot to have a good time with friends. Love coming here, enjoying the outdoor patio, and the bartenders are the best!
Best food, atmosphere, crowd, bartenders. You can’t go wrong with this neighborhood bar. Dog friendly.
Great vibe! Super friendly staff. Will have to come back again. & try the food. Not to far a walk from my place.
This is a hidden gem with amazing drinks! Probably the best and coziest bar in Oakland.
Very good drinks. They are serious about checking your vaccination status. Dog friendly
This place is a big bar with good drinks and nice staff. Nothing too stand out, just a neighborhood local.
My favorite neighborhood bar -- sometimes they get a little busy and you can expect a wait, but overall great service.
Good priced beer and free popcorn! If im in town will stop again 🙂
Didn't eat, but the drinks and vibes were great.
Great local bar. Indoors and out. Great bar food too. What more could you ask for?
Late night food was excellent, backyard ambience was really nice, artichoke hearts &peacan pie(made by bartender) was delicious
Limited seating indoors, a few tables and plenty of space out back. Short but good beer list, full bar, and fancy (boozy) frozen drinks. The burger pop up is great--get the totchos.
Fun, laid back, casual, a soon to be a local haunt. This place serves good drinks, pub fare and just the right amount of queer to straight ratio. Hoping that it eventually becomes an official queer space - cause Oakland needs them!
Always clean taps and perfect CO2. The beer here tastes much better because of it. Free popcorn & dog friendly patio!
These guys are always awesome I don't ever stay cuz I don't drink but I do enjoy their popcorn mainly cuz they have brewers yeast that you can add to it and it makes it very delicious
Great drinks, friendly bartender, relaxed environment, and delicious homemade cupcakes. The outdoor area is nice and there is free popcorn.
This place was so cozy and cute. They have such a great selection, the bartender was on it and very friendly. The drinks were so good, will be back again. ☺️
Perfect happy hour set up right on the corner of MacArthur near Kaiser super friendly bartender and a pretty hip vibe. I always liked this section of Piedmont very diverse. Also check out the restaurant. I will have to say the bathroom (see vid) is exceptional and clean which speaks volumes for a bar 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽th at is definitely this busy on a very prominent corner in Oakland.
Good neighborhood bar with a few beers less than $5 and a nice back patio. Great place to stop by.
Had the best meal all summer with Asha Loupy’s (@fromheadtotable) pop up menu. Green chili cheese toastie ❗️❗️❗️More of this please!!! We will come every month
Very chill, lodge style bar with free popcorn, shake-a-day contest, TVs for the game, and Aburaya fried chicken for yo ass.

Semi-dive with very frequent pop-up kitchens. Nice back patio you can smoke on. Often has sports or chee-z movies or nature docs on the TVs inside. The crowd is mellow, generally late 20s to late 50s, and everyone gets along. Diverse communities and queer friendly.
Ok, but new happy hour should be child free. No children after 6pm? That seems fair
Only been to the lodge twice and each time was so lovely! The bartenders on Tuesdays, Michael and others, were so friendly and fun to chat with. The folks working there, the music, movies, super yummy food pop ups, etc. make it a perfect spot to meet some buddies for a beer. They made me a regular so quick!
A pleasant place to have cocktails, The Lodge, whether lively or a slow night, always has a welcoming vibe. Friendly bartenders and inexpensive drinks. The kitchen frequently features an assortment of very good pop-up vendors. There are usually pop-ups on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until 10. Check the website for a schedule. On Friday, Irene tends the bar and brings in the most delightful and decadent homemade pastries. If you have a late night sweet tooth, they worth asking about. In the event of a late night attack of the munchies and no vendor, they have a selection of microwave junk food that's fairly good, i.e. cup-o-noodles, corn dogs etc. A neighborhood bar with a fair share of regulars, it is a step above what I would call a dive bar. Nice, dog friendly patio in the back. There's always a water bowl available. Good Dogs can always stop by the bar and get a free doggie treat. Dogs are required to be leashed.
Went here on Tuesday for a night cap after a girls dinner. We met Michael the bartender who was absolutely wonderful - chatty but respectful, attentive to all the people at the bar and coming in, listened to me when I said I didn’t actually want the shot my friend ordered for me, and looked out for us when dudes were around - iykyk. Having a bartender that really had your back when your some girls out drinking was honestly the best part of our experience, though the popcorn machine and great drinks helped! Not to mention they allow dogs 😍 My favorite kind of neighborhood dive - Definitely going back !
3 of my favorite bartenders work here: Michael Emily Sadie I follow Michael around cuz he’s positive & cool as hell and emphasizes first exchanging hellos and pleasantries before getting down to business. Kitchen is great when available!
Great place! Dog friendly, outdoor seating, terrific food, such a nice vibe, and amazing bartenders. This is my new fave place.
Visited The Lodge for the first time on a Saturday night around 7pm, and I wish I had tried it sooner! We got a slushee and a draft beer. Super cozy vibes inside. It was cold out, so sitting by the gas fire was lovely. Lively & kind crowd. Divey but clean. Attentive service. Free popcorn!! Dog friendly back patio with water bowls.
The best local bar anyone could dream of 😁
Out of the 3 bars on Piedmont Ave, I enjoy the Lodge the most. Free Popcorn, outdoor covered patio, dog friendly, well priced drinks, slushy option, and the atmosphere rad Oaklanders and a cabin theme throughout. FEMALE OWNED! New food pop up is Pancho's cafe serving wings burgers tacos and a chicken sandos. Oh yeah and Friday Cupcakes by Irene to get the weekend started right!
Nice spot, super chill, good drinks. My favorite part though, is the food by Fowl + Fare. The best fried chicken sandwiches in Oakland! Citrus Hot is our all-time favorite, and it is spicy!
Great neighborhood spot. The bartender is rad and the drinks are solid. Free popcorn...add your own nooch. Sweet outdoor patio and general neighborly vibe. Don't come here to get wasted and be a jerk, we'll judge you.
Stellar cocktails, blended drinks and grilled cheese! It's owned by the same owners as Dogwood in downtown and I've loved that place for years. Also, the blended drinks here are really good- give them a chance if you've not tried them before!
Aka “Shooty Stabbies” from back in the day. The Lodge has been remade over just enough so it feels safe and inviting and still has enough of the old feel to appeal to the longtime customers. Great pop up restaurants happening almost every night. Good cocktails. Reasonable prices.

Love the new look...miss Egbert's but This place Looks great, good food nice selection of drinks, outside seating
Way above average not a dive bar with rotating guest kitchens/ chefs.
You will find a laid-back vibe and cheap cocktails at The Lodge. It's a hipster hangout, but at least they have good food and some decent beers on draft.
Stopped here randomly for some late night drinks. Beer choice was limited, but they have a full bar otherwise. Had a very lively vibe and you can tell everyone was having a good time. Glad I stopped here.
Cool bar. They have free popcorn with toppings on the side. There's a spot that serves japanese hotdogs in there too!
Great environment, cool people, good rotating food choices,, just OK drink selection
Reclaimed wood and small plates make me mad, but the peeps working here are super nice and it's not their fault that the old dice of my youth was destroyed. Fun place for a group, especially if hungry.
Love this divey neighborhood joint! Audey is the kind of bartender who makes you feel welcome even when it's packed. Not to mention, she makes a mean Martini. Although my go-to tends to be an Olympia + a shot of mezcal or whiskey. Oh and lest I forget, the food aka. the best burgers around are courtesy Lovey's. <-- look it up

Love this bar usually. Here 3-4 days a week. Just don't go on Mondays (at least this Monday). The bartender with the plugs will overcharge you and make you ask for change. If you don't ask he just keeps it. Other than that, great bar! Edit: thanks for the response. Just wanted to check - have happy hour beers gone up to 8 dollars since Friday? Still a little peeved about Michael taking my $10 and keeping the change without asking, but happy to revise/delete my review if you can confirm the HH price change

We spent night with friends, stella beer was not available and black level whiskey was not available, waitress who served us was actually not so welcoming, Despite this the place is comfortable and interesting.
Steaks?
It kind of reminded me of Son of Anarchy. There was no one who looked like me there A lot of stares. Only the bartenders was friendly. I ordered another drink just to make sure i wasnt trippin. Very protective and territorial!. Good beer though!!!!
Very bad customer service! Drinks are too high in price for the quality. This place should be only chosen for convenience. There are a lot of places in that area that are better
