***UPDATE - I made it to Southern Maid before I return to California. Their donuts are as good as I remember them. I bought enough to take back with me and share with friends. The line was long, but it was worth the wait!!! Even though this place was closed for the holidays when I went there, I'm still giving them 5 stars! I now live in CA and everytime I'm in Odessa I stop at Southern Maid. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because it's a childhood favorite and I'm glad they're still in business. I'm always satisfied with their donuts!!!

I love this place and it’s always busy for a good reason. The donuts are so good and the service is always great. I even went in to pick up 16 dozen donuts and they were so amazing and able to fill my order. I don’t plan on doing that again without an order request. I feel like everyone I know here loves Southern Maid and the green box is iconic. My son’s favorite donut is the red cherry one and their donut holes. They only take cash, by their prices are great. They also offer drinks like milk, chocolate milk, juice and water. If you’re getting donuts for a group or co workers or even just yourself, this is the place to go.

Cash Only Good donuts, busy location, but cash only with no posted prices visible. Takeout only; great for those with insider's knowledge, not for out-of-towners. Bought only a few donuts with "pocket change."

Lots of history in this little donut shop! Kind of tricky to get to and probably just an average tasting donut, but knowing Elvis had been here and loved them was enough for me. Staff seemed like they didn't want to be there, but the building was cute and they had a fair selection of donuts. We had a chocolate, banana nut and a cherry filled.

Haven’t been here in a while. Decided to stop since i had cash. It was about 6:40am. My donuts were not even warm or hot. They were extra crispy. also got a calache that tasted old ended up throwing at all away. I use to love this place but it just doesn’t hit the same anymore. Not sure ifs new owners or what.

Drove 20 minutes out of my way to get donuts from SM for my daughter’s birthday breakfast. Cash only??? No, I will not go to the ATM a few blocks down the road because you don’t have what you need to accommodate your customers. If it’s fees you are worried about, charge a CC fee! Taking my business elsewhere.

They probably have great donuts, but I wouldn't know since they only accept cash, which apparently I was supposed to just know before showing up here. Will give a higher rating when they join the 21st century. Waste of a morning trip

OK seriously it’s 2025 and these people only accept checks or cash as payment no credit card no Apple Pay it’s like you’re living in 1952! The donuts are good don’t get me wrong but who in the right mind doesn’t take credit cards as a payment like seriously who in the hell even write checks these days? Smh with disappointment

I don’t know what you all did differently, let just say the donuts aren’t the same! I have enjoyed SM almost all my life . They were a little greasy, the glazed donuts looked like they had sat in the oil. They definitely weren’t glazed! maybe glazed with oil. So sad that whoever made these donuts on Friday morning.10/25/2024 about 12:30 p.m. dozen donuts and 2 apple rolls. Even my husband asked if they were glazed and he was told they were, well they weren’t. if you changed recipe I suggest you go back to your old recipe. If you changed cooks you train the cook a little more. There are too many donut shops in Odessa so it’s easy to lose business.

So very Disappointing to wait in line for several vehicles to buy donuts just to get DAY OLD COLD DONUTS. It was early morning too! Back in the Day, Cold Day Old Donuts were sold for One Dollar a Bag Full. These are the Best, if you get what you pay for. Moving on to not as good but Fresh Made Daily Donut, Done with Southern Maid.

I visited Odessa last month and my first stop was here, only to be disappointed. Donuts are not the same. The new owners must have changed the recipe of dough and donuts taste more doughy. Years back these donuts were the best. Donuts were a lil crispy and so delicious. Wish old owners would buy this place back so they could bring back those good ole Southern Maid Donuts.
