We toured Montpelier and stopped here for a late lunch. Everything was perfect and delicious. We would highly recommend.
Spur of the moment stop through after daughter’s engagement photos earlier. Staff were all on point, food was outstanding with the ⭐️ being the bacon wrapped meatloaf. Mussels were in an oversized bowl and were delicious. All in all a great ending to a great night. 10/10 will definitely RECOMMEND
I normally order out and leave. How about you bring back those Garlic Parm wings by the way. One or twice I have had a seat at the bar. I didn't get a last name but the bartender is a really personable guy named Jaime. To be honest these days if I see him at the bar, I stay and have a few drinks. If he isn't there, I get my food as go. The other guy, eh! I have to tell you, he can make anything you like. That is talent. All I said was something not to sweet and not to sour. I don't remember the name of what he created but it was delicious. I dranks three. Don't worry I was walking. He is a true gem, a real bartender. If he can create such fantastic drinks in addition the the regular orders, keep him. I will be looking for him next week. In addition to those garlic parm wings, we can't all eat hot wings people.
Absolutely delicious and great prices!! We have dined in and ordered take-out for both lunch and dinner. Everything has been delicious! We particularly enjoy the wings, salmon, and mushroom panini. The price point is wonderful for the quality of the food and atmosphere.
Driving near Orange, VA, we decided to eat here because they had pepperoni flat bread for our son. So very glad we did! It’s super cute and had great food (pretzel, fried green tomatoes, sliders) and beer. Staff was great too. Wish it wasn’t 2 hours from home.
We love the new outside dining space! The food and service are top notch! The desserts are also really really good! We enjoyed talking to our waiter and had a fantastic ‘ date night’ in our little town of Orange! Highly recommend Main Street Tavern!
The flatbread and salmon was amazing, but not as amazing as our server, John. He was polite, attentive, and overall very pleasant. If you don’t visit this place for the food visit for the service.
Main Street tavern is amazing!! The food, atmosphere, staff is always on point! We visit regularly and never have a bad experience. ❤️
Phenomenal food. Home made pasta was excellent Visited for late lunch. Gorgeous historical building. Service was exceptional.
So good! We were in town for only a few days and ended up here twice because we had to come back for more. Friendly, excellent service. Sirloin was to perfection. Fish-n-chips were exactly as hoped. Burgers, too.
Popped in last night to meet a long-time friend. First time in MST for both of us. First impression was fantastic. Decor, lighting, vibe...it was all good. My buddy and I sat at the bar and Carrie took very good care of us! The drinks were great and she was very pleasant. We shared an order of the garlic parmesan wings, and I have to say they were some of THE BEST wings I've had in recent memory. Sauced perfectly, skin was crispy but the meat was very tender and cooked perfectly, too! For my entree I got the mixed green salad with a salmon filet. The vinaigrette dressing that came with it was light and tasty. The salmon had a nice cook and was seasoned well for my liking. It had a little bit of a pepper bite, but not overwhelming. My buddy got a burger and tots. His burger looked fantastic and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Cooked as to how he ordered. I snagged one of his tots....I could've eaten a bowl of them alone. Side note - the owner is married to an old acquaintance thru bicycling that I hadn't seen in about 20 years. Until last night. Good seeing you, Jeff!! What a coincidence.
Very friendly place to go out with family & friends & food is amazing . Jackie is owner & she care for quality & atmosphere. Our server David is very professional to do his job. God " bless them all .
The food was amazing! They accommodated our group of 5 adults and 2 kids (1 in a high chair) quickly. Everyone, including those with a lot of restrictions (dairy, gluten, soy), had a lot of options. The kids menu was good, and the drink options were great! The bartender had excellent presentation for the old fashioned I ordered and it was delicious! Our waitress was so kind and patient with our order and checking in on us for drink refills and making sure everything was correct. A bit on the pricier side and parking was all street or a small lot across the street but definitely worth it and will return again!!
Great food. Exceptional service! John was great! We had a party of six. Jammie went above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy with their food orders and overall dining experience. If you appreciate class A service and delicious food, this place is a must!
Main Street Tavern is an outstanding dining option and a welcome addition to downtown Orange. The kitchen is clean with food delivery times that are spot on and well paced. The service staff and bartenders are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable of the menu, and there is a definite teamwork strategy to how they approach the guest experience. In addition to the excellent core menu offerings, the chef has introduced a number of fresh and creative Daily Specials. Note: keep an eye out for the Meatloaf-- it is seriously next level delicious, and you absolutely cannot go wrong with the Salmon or the New York Strip! Other favorites include - the Crispy Shrimp appetizer, Pan Roasted Pear Salad, and the Signature Burger with a mouthwatering bacon jam - always cooked to perfection. A number of unique cocktail offerings and a nice variety of beer options(awesome IPA choices) round out the menu. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and the dining room is open and efficient with a nice neighborhood vibe! Oh, and make sure you save room for dessert! There is this Carrot Cake for Two with a presentation that is a real showstopper and the Tiramisu is.....well, just try it - you will not regret it. Overall, you can sense the management and staff sincerely CARE about the customers and are committed to providing an enjoyable dining experience - and that is why they are consistently a favorite choice for our family and friends.
Nestled in the charming town of Orange, Virginia, Main Street Tavern is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step through the door, you are enveloped in an ambiance that perfectly balances rustic charm with modern elegance. The warm, inviting atmosphere is a testament to the nurturing hospitality that defines this establishment. The service at Main Street Tavern is nothing short of exceptional. Jamie, the bartender, crafts drinks that are not only top-tier but also a delightful journey for the senses. Each cocktail is a masterpiece, reflecting a perfect blend of creativity and precision. Jackie, the owner, exudes a welcoming presence, ensuring every guest feels like part of the family. Her dedication to excellence is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. The menu is a celebration of Southern homestyle cooking with an eloquent twist. Our meal began with a plate of wings that were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with flavor. The butternut squash ravioli was a revelation, each bite offering a harmonious blend of sweet and savory notes. Paired with an excellently cooked steak, the dish was elevated to new heights. The salad was divine, a fresh and vibrant medley that complemented the richness of the other dishes. Main Street Tavern is more than just a place to eat; it's a cultural experience. The ambiance is enriched by the local charm and the sense of community that permeates the space. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this tavern offers a slice of Southern hospitality that is both nurturing and sophisticated. Main Street Tavern in Orange, Virginia, is a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience. With its excellent service, exquisite food, and inviting atmosphere, it stands out as a beacon of culinary excellence. Highly recommended!
I have eaten at Main Street Tavern several times. The burger and tots call my name! From the moment I step in the door, I’m greeted with kindness and professionalism. The food has always been beyond my expectations. I especially love how the menu changes. They really listen to the customers and find great ways to make dishes their own. I’ve never had a problem with food or service. They have even gone so far as to make my meals with any dietary or food restrictions needed. If I could create a perfect place to take friends, family, or coworkers it would definitely be Main Street Tavern. I cannot recommend them enough.
Main Street Tavern in Orange, VA, is a delightful gem that blends great food with outstanding service. We kicked off with the empanadas, which were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor—a fantastic start. For mains, the bolognese was hearty and satisfying, while the shrimp and grits struck a perfect balance of rich and creamy. However, the true highlight of the evening was Jamie, the bartender extraordinaire. Jamie’s service was top-notch, and his mixology skills are second to none—the Cosmopolitan Martinis were truly epic. If you’re in town, don’t miss this spot for a fantastic meal and expertly crafted drinks!
Service was prompt and polite. The food has always been wonderful. They had 2 non alcohol beers to offer and a fabulous carrot cake. Sadly last time we were there their unique and very tasty steak and cheese sub was not on the menu.
The crab cake was SO good, as was the carrot cake. My hubby and I split dessert, and still brought half of it home - Our slice of cake was that big! They have a quality beer selection. Staff was super nice and perfectly attentive. The atmosphere is wonderful. Feels nice without being pretentious. 100% will go back.
Drove up for dinner while vacationing near Lake Anna. Food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch. Shout out to our server, John, who was fantastic!
If you're passing thru Orange, Va, this would be an excellent meal stop. Kind of up scale, but worth the $$$. I had their chicken breast mashed taters and green bends so freaking good. Pecan carrot cake to die for. Very popular at lunch
What a wonderful experience! Outstanding service, friendly, excellent quality and prices. Please go and experience for yourself if ever in the Orange area. You will love it ! We had the pan seared salmon entree and pear salad dinner with salmon as well.
Food is delicious, wait staff are friendly and efficient, decor is fresh and tasteful. We met the owner, a very nice person who spent quite a bit of time chatting with us. The hubby had the meatloaf and is still raving about it, and I enjoyed the flatbread with artichoke, spinach and chicken. The Main Street Lager on tap was perfectly refreshing. Seems like there are many more items on the menu than displayed on the website, and we will be back to try as many as possible. Don't pass this one up!
We stopped in a whim while passing through. We absolutely LOVED the food, the drinks and our server, Danielle! The best part of the meal was the cheesecake. The slice was huge and wonderfully delicious.
We had a wonderful meal at Main Street Tavern! The Buffalo Wings were phenomenal, and so was the Pan-Roasted Pear Salad. We got dessert to go — Limoncello Cake and Flourless Chocolate Torte. They were both divine. Our server, Grace, was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Stylishly modern decor, elegant atmosphere, and welcoming staff. Highly recommended!
I absolutely love it when you walk into an establishment and feel welcome! We were attending a nearby event and decided to pop in for a quick drink. I had the Empress 75 which was delightful, my husband had a Long Island. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend. The gentleman next to me was having garlic parm wings and to be honest when my drink kicked in, it took everything in me to not snatch one off his plate. lol Beautiful 🤩 Place!
We visited Charlottesville for our anniversary and tried to find some great restaurants, but were sorely disappointed until this. Weeks later and I'm still thinking about their food. I will definitely be back if we ever visit the area again! The staff were excellent, the tiramisu was out of this world. In fact, I tried to replicate it for my birthday today, but I failed. The spinach Alfredo flatbread and a spicy penne pasta as well as drinks were top notch. I only wish they had one of these where I live!
Every time we visit our daughter and son-in-law in Orange, we have to spend one night at Main Street Tavern! We love it!!! Jackie and the staff are great and the food is always wonderful! We’re going up tomorrow and hope to be at MST for dinner!!!
This place is the best!!!! My family and I come here and the food, drinks and service is amazing. Billy is the best bartender and makes amazing drinks. John is a great server and is always pleasant. And let’s not forget about Jackie who always makes sure you have the best experience.
Met the owner and she along with the staff are amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone and I mean anyone. If I could give MST 6 stars I would. The food is high quality along with service and hospitality. Thank you all at MST it was a pleasure.
Loved everything about this place: food, ambiance, decor & staff. Not far from route 29 in a lovely town. We stumbled upon it when driving southbound on 29 to visit family. We were originally going to search for a place in Charlottesville but are so glad our stomachs called us to eat sooner. The owner has really put her heart and soul into this place--it shows. Next time we drive this way we will definitely stop.
I’m from Massachusetts, and as a big eater, I’ve tried my fair share of burgers. This place was incredible! I had the tavern burger, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, with flavors that blended beautifully. The layout, seating, and staff were all outstanding. If you haven’t been here and you’re in the area, definitely check it out. You won’t be disappointed!
Picked this place randomly because it was between Shenandoah and our hotel and loved it! We sat at the bar and our service was amazing. Jaime even offered to change the TV station for us. We got the Turf & Turf special on Monday. I really loved my burger!
Phenomenal service, food, and drink! Highly recommend the fried brussel sprouts and cauliflower. Jaime was an excellent bartender! Thank you for everything!! We will definitely be back!
Our food was tasty. Service was excellent. Our order took a while to come out. When we asked for the check our server brought us a huge piece of cake because of the delay in getting our food. That’s the way to make things right!
After strolling through downtown Orange, we decided to take a break, grab a drink, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Even though the outdoor area was empty, we asked to sit outside and were able to enjoy a quiet table. Grace was our server, and she was incredibly kind and friendly. She encouraged us to relax and let her know whenever we needed anything. After some time, we decided to order food and enjoyed a delicious meal. We had a fantastic experience at Main Street Tavern, and honestly, we’ll be back just for Grace’s outstanding service. She’s truly a gem!
I had a wonderful time, the food was very tasty. The drinks are the best as long as Jaime Robinson is the bartender. The bourbon chicken wings are delicious. The chocolate martini is to die for I highly recommend
My husband and I were very impressed with how affordable this place was considering how good the food is! Probably the best burger I’ve ever had! And a really flavorful delicious cheesecake! The customer service was amazing! They squeezed us in even though they were busy and our server was the sweetest! All in all 10/10
The spinach artichoke dip is awesome, loaded tots are a big go to with grilled chicken. Last night Saddie was the most sweetest.
Loved it!!! Had the loaded tator tots and they were fantastic! Really nice atmosphere both inside and outside for a warm spring evening. Wait staff was super! Can't wait to go back for a repeat visit and try another dish :)
Today was my first time dining here. We had a birthday lunch for a family member, we had a party of 9. The atmosphere, food and service was great. Our waitress whose name was Grace was outstanding and played a big part of our enjoyable visit. Will certainly recommend to others.
We were in town for a wedding and wanted one last great meal before we went home. This place was it! The food was spectacular and the service was top notch.
I would give this 10 stars if I could. Lovely atmosphere with very attentive service. Came for lunch and the Pear Salad was amazing. Definitely worth a try. We finished with delicious Mango-guava Cheesecake. It was perfectly light and refreshing on a hot afternoon. The owner is attentive to both staff and customers in this great little spot in downtown Orange with convenient nearby parking.
This place is awesome. I stopped in to get some food on my way to Northern Virginia, and got a burger and fries. The food came out quickly, and the burger was unbelievable. Definitely one of the best that I’ve ever had.
Service is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. I recommend the Port wine. Jaime Robinson is a great server and bartender 9.5 out of 10
We decided to go to the Harley dealership that was closed they moved and didn't know that at least stopped here to leave and it was one of the best hamburgers that we've had in a long time thanks for the great service and pleasant attitude if I didn't live 800 miles away I would visit them more often
Sat at the bar and had parpadelle with salmon, boyfriend had the pan seared salmon. The pasta was fresh, and the food greatly exceeded our expectations. Everything was more than well priced. We had 4 drinks between us, and the total bill was under $90. There's really something for everyone and all price points. We chatted up the owner, Jackie, and she was super awesome. We were more than impressed with a place that's only been open 3 months. 100% recommend, and we'll be back the next time we're in town.
From the moment I walked in, EVERYONE was joyful and attentive! The owner was active and waiting on the customers with her staff and she was beyond wonderful to everyone in the building. A couple stoped in just asking for water, and even they were greeted with kindness, smiles and wonderful customer service. Then handed to go cups with water and ice in them! To the good part, the food. I asked a few locals where to go and they all recommend this location. It did not disappoint and the food exceeded the expectations I had. I will definitely be back!
This was my first time eating here, and the atmosphere, service, and food were "amazing." I ordered the burger medium rare and salad. The burger was done perfectly, and the salad was beautiful, and the presentation was spot on.
From the moment I stepped into the establishment, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that promised a memorable dining experience. And memorable it was, especially when it came to the MST Burger, an absolute masterpiece of culinary skill. The burger was cooked to perfection, with a juicy, flavorful patty that melded beautifully with its premium toppings, nestled between a soft, yet sturdy bun that held everything together impeccably. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and utterly satisfying. But what truly elevated the meal was the Arnold Palmer I ordered to accompany my burger. It was, without exaggeration, the best I’ve ever had. The blend of iced tea and lemonade was flawlessly executed, achieving a harmonious balance between the two that was both refreshing and invigorating. It was the perfect complement to the rich, savory burger, cleansing the palate and enhancing the overall dining experience. The service at the restaurant was also noteworthy. Our waiter, John, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that my meal was enjoyable from start to finish. The atmosphere of the restaurant, with its comfortable seating and tasteful decor, made for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. In summary, this dining experience was exceptional. The MST Burger was a revelation, and the Arnold Palmer was the perfect accompaniment, both contributing to a meal that I won’t soon forget. This restaurant has set a new standard for what I expect from dining out in Orange, and I eagerly look forward to my next visit.
I had a fantastic experience at Main Street Tavern! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the bolognese. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our bartender Billy, he was phenomenal, super friendly, knowledgeable, and made some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. You could tell he truly loves what he does, and he made the entire experience that much better. The rest of the staff was equally attentive and made us feel well taken care of the entire time. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.
This restaurant was the most elegant, nice atmosphere I encountered when being surprised by my husband. The food was extremely on point delicious and even got seconds of the shrimp and the drinks were perfect and I had one specially made on the house due to it being my birthday, the waitress that we had was super respectful and kind and make sure that we had an were OK I would definitely love to go there again,
My family and I ate here for the first time for lunch yesterday and we had a great experience. Dawn was our lovely server. The food was excellent. The salads and burgers were delicious. The atmosphere alone would bring us back, very friendly, beautiful, and all around good.
Although I know it will help, a review will not do this place proper justice. It needs to be experienced first hand. They have a quaint outdoor section right on the side of the building, equipped with a section that is specifically dedicated for taking photos. The food was amazing, the service was out of this world. We had full blown conversions with the staff and food didn't even get cold. The drinks, as well as the bartender were phenomenal. I can't wait to go back again.
Have eaten at the MST numerous times, and have never been disappointed! Visited again last evening . . . my husband ordered the turf and turf, garlic basted chicken drumsticks and loaded burger; and I ordered the onion encrusted salmon over sauced vegetables and potatoe wedges. Absolutely WONDERFUL!! Too much food for me . . . brought half home for tonight's dinner! But the BEST part was the very quick service and attention to detail by our server Angie. Not only was she busy making sure our meals were to our liking and drinks were replenished, but her engaging personality was really super!! We had some great laughs and enjoyed her affable personality very much. We will DEFINITELY ask for her next time we visit!!
Main Street Tavern has quickly become a family favorite of ours in downtown Orange. The staff has always been extremely friendly, the food always fresh and amazing, and a fully stocked bar with plenty of delicious cocktails. The outdoor patio is very nice and set back a bit from the main road so you don’t have to worry about the sound of traffic during your meal. Come for a quick bite or a longer sit down meal. It meets all needs. I would highly recommend Main Street Tavern to anyone frequenting or passing through Orange.
My husband and I had lunch here with our pup this afternoon and the food, cocktails, and service were all amazing! Tony made sure we were satisfied throughout our meal and even moved an umbrella for us out on the absolutely adorable patio. Tony was friendly and personable while making sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back and looking forward to trying other menu items!
I visited the Main Street Tavern while I was in town for work. In a small town where I was searching for somewhere nice to have a drink and some food with good quality and a calm quaint environment, I stumbled upon this wonderful place on Google. Not only was the environment and small town main st with railroad tracks right outside the establishment welcoming in its self and take the moment in worthy, this cute find was worth it. Greatness from the start with the bartender Halston being so welcoming and knowledgeable about every aspect of the food, drinks and establishment as a whole. The FOOD and DRINKS lived up to her hype because they were to FABULOUS and everything i was looking for in a quick stop in a small town. I didnt have to settle for a sub par drink or subpar food that I scarfed down to fill the craving. I had time to taste each sip and bite and thoroughly enjoy what I was eating and drinking, knowing where it was coming from (locally sourced) and that is was all, not only healthy for me but SOO YUMMY made my entire day. Thankyou to this wonderful find for not having to settle.
We can’t say enough good things about our Saturday night experience at this restaurant! We started with the pretzel and beer cheese: it was incredibly soft, perfectly salted, and the beer cheese was not too pungent for my tastes - a perfect combo! For our entrees we tried the special - bacon wrapped monkfish fillet. We were blown away! It was phenomenal. Pepperoni pizza focaccia was flavorful and sizable to split.
This is our new favorite find!!! We haven't been back in Orange for many years, but decided to venture out for a late dinner. Found three places in Orange, Virginia and we just picked this one based on the bar photo :-) I know, odd, but we like different. The artichoke spinach dip was the best I've ever add and the warm pita chips were perfect match. Manhattan and Old Fashions were spot on perfect. I had the meatloaf and the misses had the salmon with a carrot cake and cheesecake to boot. Huge mistake to drive the sports car as we were both full like it was Thanksgiving. We were both commenting on our dishes and honestly the second best meatloaf I've ever had (I do make a mean meatloaf). It's got some spice to it but I loved it. The wife was just as happy with her meal. The waitress was wonderful and engaging and kept up with us even when the bar got behind. Fantastic service. We loved the entire evening. Only thing was getting a second drink took a lot longer than expected, but that's just getting picky. It was a Thursday night, patrons coming in after 8pm, so this is good find for us. Great evening, we'll be back!!
I can’t say enough good things about this place! Our first time in, and we’ll definitely be back. Everything was delicious! *Highly* recommend the pineapple upside down cake martini (pictured) to start off. We had one of the specials, the brie and fig flatbread (not pictured…eaten too quickly), which was fantastic. The entrees (meatloaf and the salmon special, both pictured) were to die for. Highly recommend!
First time visiting with friends and are from out of town. Marcus was our server & was excellent - very friendly & attentive. Two of us had the fish & chips (catfish), one had the meatloaf & one had the "build a burger" & finished our meal with coffee & chocolate cake. We had a lovely evening- delicious food & great service! We can't wait to visit again when we are in town.
I came in here at approximately 3pm while waiting for my wife to perform a show, teaching children about science at a middle school a few minutes away. I was greeted warmly & was given an appropriate amount of attention. This place was the quintessential gem hidden in small town America! From EVERY business in the block flying an American flag 🇺🇸 to the classic “Southern hospitality!” What a wonderful Oasis. Loved the atmosphere and let me tell you, without any hesitation, to try the meatloaf! It is bacon wrapped, and topped with this amazing spicy barbecue sauce that is fairly spicy, but not at the expense of the flavor! I subbed tater tots for the mashed potatoes & had the green beans. And it was awesome! I had a few experience & would definitely return when in the area again!
Had an amazing experience at MST tonight! I've been a few times, but this was the first time sitting on their outdoor patio. Great atmosphere and really great food too. I had the crabcake and it was such a good summery meal. Marcus took care of us and did an excellent job. Highly recommend visiting!
I ordered the Greens salad with salmon. The menu said it came with cherry tomatoes, and well...it did. Two tomatoes. On tip of that, the salmon portion was tiny. The quality was good, the lettuce was fresh, but overall it was kind of disappointing. The restaurant itself and the staff were wonderful.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. A little pricey but very nice experience. My only problem was that exterior signage is terrible. One sign with MST. Drove by it 3 times. We were meeting someone there, otherwise I would have given up and gone elsewhere. Not very busy. Could this be why?
Great restaurant in the town of Orange. Everything they have on the menu is delicious. (We've tried most everything). Only reason for the 4 and not 5 star is that the dinner is a little limited. For someone coming into town, it's perfect. If you live here, it gets a bit repetitive. Maybe a little change up to the Menu specials? Or maybe we just eat out too often? 🤔
I didn’t want to make this review, but I was forced to by circumstances. I ordered the burger with a side of tater tots, and when I was almost done with my burger I found a fly on the lettuce. I knew this was common, since lettuce is hard to thoroughly rinse, so I flagged down the manager (who knew me, because I came with my partner for Valentine’s day and I helped them bring in furniture one day) and they took my whole plate to the back to look. They came back, without my plate, and told me that it was just something from the grill. I clearly saw wings and legs, and my partner confirmed it, but they didn’t acknowledge it. They also didn’t offer a replacement for the food on my plate that I didn’t finish, or an alternative item, or a discount, or a free meal (which they offered me before and I wasn’t able to go in to use it). The staff was really kind, but I’m disappointed in their disregard for my being uncomfortable with the bug, and for not replacing the food I hadn’t finished yet (which we were still billed for). I will likely not be eating here again. I gave it 2 stars, because the tater tots were good. Edit: The owner was very kind and resolved every issue we had, they even provided me a birthday gift on my birthday! The customer service is impeccable, and way better than I deserve.
Good service, great atmosphere, mediocre food. I’ve been to MST a few times and each time felt underwhelmed about the quality of the food vs the price point. The atmosphere is great, lovely little spot in orange to hang out and enjoy the ambiance of a cozy space with a glass of wine. Love that they carry local wines as well. The service has been fairly good each time. Bartenders are especially great. Unfortunately, the sandwiches that I’ve gotten as I’ve come have been very basic. The bread roll being barely warmed and almost stale tasting. My husband ordered a burger that was nearly 20 dollars and it was very basic, bland, not necessarily “bad” but also not good. Tonight I ordered the chicken sandwich. Same issue with the roll that it came on, tiny squirt of chipotle mayo and just lettuce. A basic sandwich that I could make at home for a fraction of the cost. I’ve yet to try the pastas and steak etc. but as far as the handhelds go, pretty disappointed. I’ve also had the wings which were decent. All this to say, I think with some minor tweaks to the way they serve their handhelds, it could be better. Spoon and Spindle is a little off the beaten path, but far exceeds the quality of food.
I had the MST burger the first time and it was great. Everything was great. The second time I got the roasted pear salad and it was the biggest disappointment EVER! All mixed green maybe a Tablespoon of blue cheese crumbs and trying to find any bacon was like finding a needle in a haystack. It was outrageously expensive to eat just greens with barely any dressing. I don’t care for a lot of dressing on my salad, I like to taste my salad not eat dressing. So when I say barely any dressing I’m not kidding. On the other hand the Service was great.
I came over Thanksgiving week to visit family and decided to stop by to try this place out. From the moment you enter the energy changes, the place is so beautiful, organized and clean! Very welcoming staff too! The menu was good, a little pricey but was it worth it? I would think so. I had a burger, husband tried the wagyu sliders and mom tried the New York Steak. We all enjoyed our food although the steak looked like it had been sitting out for too long because it was on the cold side, however my mom said it was tasty. I would love to come back for drinks one day!
In the area for the weekend and this place was highly recommended. My date and I both ordered the crab cake meal. It was decent. I really liked the cilantro crema sauce on the plate and wishes there was more. My partner especially liked the rice while I prefered the green beans. We shared a gigantic piece of carrot cake for dessert. It was fantastic! Our waitress was friendly and provided good service. No wait to be seated on a Saturday night at 6:30. Thats unheard of where we live!
The service was fantastic, however the chicken on my salad was overcooked and rubbery. They were great with my food sensitivities, however the actual quality of the food was lacking.
Was sad to see many of our favorite items taken off the menu. Particularly the amazing meat loaf and the pear salad…. Please bring them back. Not crazy about potato wedges either, much prefer skinny fries
The drinks are decent and so is the food but make sure you come with a full stomach. We were told that we couldn’t order until the “bike light” came on and we literally waited for over an hour for the light to come on. Bartender ensured that she took the orders of the people that she knew before us even though we were sitting there before them. So if the service was better, they would’ve have received a better review for me.
My girlfriend and I ate here the other day and we started with the green fried tomatoes for an appetizer. The green fried tomatoes were good but were a little pricey and only three little slices of tomato. Definitely not worth the value. To make things worse and we both ordered the Philly cheese steak because it came with hand battered onion rings and we wanted our own onion rings. Our server ran back to the kitchen to make sure they still had enough steak for our sandwiches, which they did so we placed our order. A food runner brought us the Philly cheesesteak with fries instead of onion rings. After having to flag our server over to double check if it came with onion rings he told me that they were out, which should've been noted when he checked to see if there was enough steak for our sandwiches. We both would have ordered something different if we knew they were out of onion rings. Further adding to the insult he didn't even offer an alternative to the fries or offer to comp them. Needless to say both of our dining experience was wrecked and we will not be returning.
We both ordered steaks they didnt have any We both were promised a free dessert because of it. Well they would only give 1 free dessert I felt deceived nice place but I wont be back no time soon .
Was excited to try this new place. First dish I ordered I was told is no longer available. Yet it was still on the menu and is used in photo advertising - so false advertising Second dish was called Multi berry salad ($14) the berries was one (1)strawberry divided into 5 slices and three(3) blueberries. To add a protein was an additional $8. Sorry, but super disappointed with the experience - ONLY bright spot was the waitress (young, female, long dark hair). Was very attentive and willing to make experience better. Food NOT outstanding and certainly NOT worth the price. Won’t be returning. R
If you’re looking for decent or timely service then this is not the place for you. Waited over a hour for a table that we were told would be a 25-30 minute wait. just for the table to be given to a party that walked in well after us, when we asked about this the only answer we were given was sorry I forgot about you (we just checked in with the hostess not even five minutes prior just to clarify about the exaggerated wait). If you enjoy your time being wasted for a subpar meal then this is the place for you, however if you preference quality and timely service than I would definitely recommend you look elsewhere.
Been coming here once a week since it opened. The last few weeks the menu has changed a couple times. They have taken away the tater tots. The French fries. Changed the wings. Changed the chicken sandwich. Changed the flatbreads. We will not be coming here anymore.
I used to frequent this restaurant often until they changed their menu. Tonight we wanted to give them a try again and ordered takeout. I ordered the chicken sandwich with coleslaw on the side so it wouldn’t be soggy by the time I got home. Of course, it wasn’t even included. I called and they said they would have it at the front when I got back to pick it up. They didn’t. All the while my food at home was getting cold. Regardless it was a wasted trip to get the slaw. It had no flavor other than vinegar but it looked like a more than vinegar dressing. Needless to say I ate what I cold force myself to which was less than half. No apologies for me having to make a 2nd trip. The wedge fries looked and sounded amazing - they weren’t. I don’t know if they had to cook them to dry because of the uneven sized wedges - but they were hard to get down with water. My mom was excited to see the meatloaf back on the menu - and she said it must be the chef because it has gone down hill too. I love supporting local - but the menu is full of cheap options that cost the consumer more than they are worth in both price and taste.
