This is such a hidden gem that is remarkably unique!! I felt like I stepped back into a Kodak picture of 1970s, the ambience is outstanding My friends and I had a great experience and Junior was the best at making our drinks. Every drink was one of a kind. He took such great care of us and we will always be grateful for the extra care he took of our friend. Make sure you make a reservation and check out this place you will not be disappointed!

If you're looking for an awesome vibe, great drinks, and a unique experience, this is the place to visit. Be sure to sit at the bar for a great show. Louis and Jason are masters at their craft.

Such a great spot. We really enjoyed our cocktails. I love gin and had two amazing gin drinks…traditional gin martini with a gin from Venezuela. And then some super special bevvie that was savory and citrusy all at once. Hubby enjoyed his as well.

Located inside a former apothecary, Apotek plays on this motif with clever "remedies" pinned to the wall that offer inventive but not overly baroque (thanks goodness!) recipes. But in the tradition of a speakeasy, you should consider especially the option of simply providing a few basic guidelines to a mixologist (alas, I forgot the name of ours), who will then use your sparse instructions to create a custom cocktail. All of ours were excellent. As seems to be the case in the Caribbean, the cocktails tended to be sweet, so if it's best to adjust your custom instructions accordingly. If you enjoy craft cocktails and the opportunity to see a mixologist at work, this spot is well worth the visit. 2014 UPDATE: this year’s experience was even better than the first. We enjoyed sitting at the bar while admiring the craftwork of Jacob, our mixologist. Once again, the recipes or “prescriptions” were inventive yet balanced— including an ingenious Boulevardier garnished with cacao shavings. And the presentation of each cocktail was impressive (see the photos below by Anna). Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy!

Looking for a fun, after dinner spot to hang out, have a good drink, maybe do a little dancing? Apotek is one of the most unique bars (speakeasy) in Aruba. When you walk up, you have to use the intercom to announce yourself. If you have a reservation, you will be buzzed right in, if not a short wait. Apotek is an Indonesian word that means pharmacy. Their menu is designed with drinks that they refer to as “prescriptions” and “remedies”. You can choose from the menu or pick a prescription card off the wall to give to your waitress. Apotek is a grown and sexy vibe! Did I mention happy hour starts at 6pm-8pm..so go have dinner then head to Apotek! I did not add a rating for food because this is a cocktail bar.

Such a cool speakeasy!! Was blown away by the really cool vibe inside. The premise is that your waiter is a “doctor” and the drinks are “prescriptions”. You have a menu of drinks and also “Rx” drinks you can choose from that are hanging on a wall. I got the Con Con, and not only was the presentation mind blowing but it was DELICIOUS. Can’t recommend this place enough if you are downtown.

Great drinks and shots. If you can, get the seats by the bar. You can see all the amazing drinks being concocted in front of you. The show is so much better. Highly recommended to make a reservation.

Drinks great. Waitress amazing. Got a quick tour as well! Highly recommend. Had the stroopwaffle old fashioned. One of the greatest things that has ever touched my lips.

Very cool bar! From having to push the doorbell to get in to the smoky atmosphere (not cigarette smoke) it was like going back in time. Drink menu was like looking at an old pharmacist book and they even had a wall full of RX Prescription Drinks you could choose from. The only downfall was there was no food at all. Something to munch on like appetizers would have been great as the drinks were strong. We would have stayed longer if there was something to eat.

We wanted to celebrate our “little cousin” finally turning 21, and this place did not disappoint! Incredible cocktails, hand-crafted to our specific tastes and preferences. Beautiful presentation and absolutely delicious! The whole speakeasy vibe was wonderful (you have to ring the doorbell to get in) and the decor inside was great. We will definitely return on our next trip!

If you are looking for quality cocktails in Aruba, make a stop here! The staff is friendly and the bartenders are pros. Order your reliable favorites from the default menu or talk to the experts at the bar into trying something special. Tiki, bourbon, tequila, whatever, they'll do it right. Highly recommend!

This bar was recommended by another bartender and is a great spot to stop for cocktails. Dr’s Remedy with goat cheese was so delicious, and the pistachio Negroni was excellent too. We visited at a good time and got to experience both the upstairs and downstairs areas.

Absolutely loved this place! Jose is an incredible bartender, we loved his cocktails so much we came back three nights during our trip. Drinks, service, and ambience were all 10/10. Totally recommend for anyone looking for great cocktails!

Very cool speakeasy bar in downtown Oranjestad. Reservations are required. Feels like stepping into a secret space. The menu has unfamiliar names, which are familiar drinks prepared in unique ways. All were excellent. The staff was really helpful and very friendly. The tour of the space was an unexpected treat.

Such a vibe! Speakeasy Lounge in Aruba is the perfect hidden gem—cozy, intimate, sexy, and smoky, with a live DJ setting the perfect mood. The drinks were amazing—crafted with care and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, fun, and super social, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a must-visit if you're looking for a chill but stylish night out in Aruba.

If you appreciate a classy, upscale cocktail, this is the spot. Atmosphere is fun, creative, and mysterious. Cocktails are wildly creative and unlike standard sticky sweet bars. This place is inspired by great cocktail bars around the world 10/10.

A causal SPEAKEASY, semi-hidden in An alley of Oranjestad. I wasn’t expecting much on the cocktail vibes in Aruba, but this place certainly is attaining high value. Ring the doorbell for entry. Although the drinks are not heavy on alcohol And they do not go off menu, they do have a surplus of entertaining choices with an experience to go with most. We absolutely enjoyed the smoke elixir cocktail, a must try if you love the cigar smell and smokiness of a drink. Can’t wait to see their next chapter, I suggest you ask them when you arrive. This was my favourite find of my trip in Aruba! I didn’t feel like going for a drink but a whole experience. From the door to the drinks to the music, I loved it all! The cocktails were some of the best I’ve ever had and I hope everyone that ends up in Aruba, visits this speakeasy!

Wow!!! Is all I can say! What a treasure of a bar!!! Upon being dropped off at the front door of the speakeasy, we had to ring the door bell to get approved for entry 🤣 A beautiful young lady escorted us in, gave us seats at the bar and explained the menu (their elixirs for what ails you) just pick your prescription and your bartender makes it! Our bartender was fantastic!!! Great at his craft, friendly, happy, and even introduced us to his identical twin brother who stopped in to say hi! My husband and I each got two cocktails! I chose Sex Appeal and one of their special prescriptions off the wall rather than their regular RX book! My husband chose two different Old Fashions. One of which was smoked with a Dominican cigar! These were great cocktails!!! Absolutely fantastic gem in Aruba and definitely worth going too!!! We will be back again!

I had such a DOPE experience grabbing drinks at Apotek!!! And although it was my last evening in Aruba, I can certainly say that I saved the best for last!!! The atmosphere from the minute you enter the speakeasy is right on trend, and their team has curated a sexy speakeasy with its own unique and iconic flair. The drinks that I tried were both complex and full-flavoured & my only regret is that I didn’t have more days to go back and visit again (… on this trip)!! Combine the full list of craft cocktails with amazing music and top notch service, and you have all the ingredients for an amazing night!!! 10/10 would recommend ✨

Great cocktail bar with original menu, twists on classics and if you want, classics. Kitschy idea to pick your prescription from the wall. Well made drinks from experienced bar staff and the bar itself is interesting, cool and classy inside. Great spot for pre or post dinner cocktail in Oranjestad.

We've had the pleasure of visiting this gem in Aruba a few times now, and each visit leaves us more impressed than the last. The cocktails are truly exceptional—crafted with such precision and creativity that each one feels like a work of art. The espresso martini is one of the best I've ever had, and the bacon old fashioned is incredible. The service here is equally outstanding, with staff who are warm, attentive, and always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The mystery tour is a delightful surprise, adding a unique touch to the experience. This place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a remarkable cocktail experience in Aruba. Can't wait to return!

Really amazing cocktails here. Pricey, but the same price as many of the hotel bars on palm beach, but with cocktails that are a million times better. All so well balanced and creative. The atmosphere is amazing, and we got a little tour of the rest of the spaces and some of the history of the bar. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Plenty to like here. Creative and delicious drinks delivered with a fun prescription concept. Presentation and quality ingredients seem to be a focus. We also lucked into a tour of the place. If pretentious cocktails are your thing (and why not!) you need to stop here when in Aruba.

Hands down an absolute must when in Aruba. Reservations are recommended but not necessary. Simply ring the buzzer and wait to be buzzed in. The vibe is very chill, and the experience was phenomenal. The bartenders and drinks are top-notch. Make sure to put Apotek Speakeasy on your list. Trust me, you won't regret it.

100% recommend! Came here with my friend on a Wednesday night. It was relatively quiet inside and our hostess Grey (so nice!) sat us at the bar. We started off with an order of the Painkiller shots. We had a couple cocktails...everything was DELISH. And they were playing the BEST music. Fun spot and would love to go again!

100% worth the experience. Our 2nd time there over a few years and we come to Aruba every June. Not sure why we skipped it for a few years, but after returning this past June we were reminded how awesome this place is. Drinks are absolutely phenomenal and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and true masters of their craft. We will no longer skip a visit here and will be back in June 2026. We like to go on the earlier side of the night and get a rockin buzz on and then hit dinner somewhere. Great way to start the night. Just make sure to go on line and make a mandatory reservation a day or two before. You won't be disappointed.

Recommended by many as the first speakeasy on the island, this cocktail bar is a must try. Really great vibes, music and drinks. The bartenders are passionate and don't take any shortcuts to making the perfect cocktail. Shout out to Tristan for the amazing custom cocktail creation!

We went here for pre drinks before the carnival parade. It was so cute! The drinks weee delicious, the location was perfect, the concept was cute, and everyone was beautiful. I totally recommend

This is an interesting place. It is a mix up of a Tiki Bar, Speakeasy, and Night Club. It kind of works… They have a huge menu and a neat old pharmacy theme. I will say both our drinks were too sweet for us.

Fantastic cocktail bar. Managed to stop buy before our cruise ship left port. The atmosphere of the place is spot on and the drinks are well crafted. The staff are great and certainly know what they are doing. Its about a 10 minute walk from the port so definitely worth dropping in before the ship sails to get a well made and balanced cocktail. You won't get anything close on board a cruise ship I can assure you.

Service kind of slow, drinks pricing expected for a speakeasy 17-30. The venue is Smokey and service is a bit slow I had to ask server 4 times to place a order I get it people get busy. They were polite, there is no food. The doors always locked which is speakeasy vibe

Pro: food and service were great. Con: Debit card was overcharged. Please make sure you either pay cash or use a credit card. I tipped my bartender $30 in cash and was charged $30 dollars additional on my bill. Trying to get my money back was a headache. I had to dispute the charge with my bank. The bank credited me the money back because this establishment had no way to return my funds other than PayPal or Zelle. I live in the US, not Aruba. They needed my physical card in order to return the money. Weird. I didn’t catch the overcharge because it didn’t show until the charge posted and by that time I was already back in the states. I did have a great experience, just not sure I’ll be back after that the overcharge situation. Too much of a hassle trying to recoup my coins!

I landed in Aruba yesterday, a solo travel. I love speakeasy’s and decided to make a reservation for one last night. I thought it was super cool upon entering you have to ring the doorbell and address who you are and confirm that you have a reservation. The bathroom was dope and the exterior design I enjoyed! I also enjoyed reading up on the history. Now I’m not sure if it’s bc I was solo traveling, i definitely felt invisible and ignored. I was informed about the drinks and had one. But outside of that not much or hardly interaction with the staff there.. maybe it’s best to go in groups or with someone.. just my personal experience. The drink I ordered was good but I doubt I’ll be returning during my time here.

I was looking forward to trying this place and made reservations for 10pm but when I arrived the place was completely absolutely dead inside. No music and the entire place was filled with smoke. I had high hopes for it
