Our Mystery lunch ladies really enjoyed our visit. Our server was excellent and attentive to all 9 of us. We will be back! Thank you so much for accommodating the Mystery Lunch Ladies!
We came in from out of town for the Bills vs Bengals game that weekend and before we left back home we stopped at the Bills Stadium to buy some gear after so we were hungry and wanted breakfast and found this place. The service was excellent and the food was deeeelicious!! Big servings! And the house jam was sooo good! Hopefully next season we'll come for another game and for sure we will stop by for some breakfast once again!
Only only is the food amazing, the service is very good! I love the country music playing every morning and I come here with one other person 100% of the time and the price is soo affordable!! I love everyone that works here
The options were endless! GF English muffins, pancakes, French toast, waffles. ALL prepper separately ans a dedicated gf fryer. I had the Jose Benedict, and it was delicious. My non gf husband and friends had the 3 little pigs omelette, pumpkin pie stuffed French toast and Lumberjack waffle, all could be made gf as well. GF all come out on blue dishes. I just may take a 3 hour drive sometime just to visit here again! Delicious, they understand celiac 100%.
Great and humble, high quality all-around breakfast place with eccentricities that will keep you coming back! So we (3 of us) went here after church and parked across the street, but worth the wait and worth trying at least once. Fresh ingredients including homemade jellies on each table (Free for your toast-!! - and tastes like it was made with love 💕 - you CAN tell the difference..) Stepped up quality here, so don't miss out. I even texted my friend who likes corned beef hash bc it's homemade here - actually several items are made in-house, and it's a delight to be there. That's why it's so busy and bustling. But don't be dissuaded by the business. We waited about 10-15 mins, but we're greeted quickly when we sat down, given menus and waters & drink order taken. It's exactly what you'd like in a breakfast place. We were all very satisfied and will be back. Bonus: they stamp a card for the number of entrees (we had 3 stamps) and after the 10th meal, you have earned a free one. It's hilarious bc everything is so good here and needs no incentive, but it's a cute idea and they went for it! I'm looking fwd to reading other reviews- there is an air of fun warmth from the staff. Very professional, and yet personable. High marks all around. Thanks Polked Yolk! See you soon.
This diner knows how to serve up a fantastic experience! I got the Gorgonzola and steak omelet… definitely the best omelet I’ve ever had. The seasoned home fries are absolutely beautiful and the buttered toast is the cherry on top. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long long time. Great service and the food came out within 10 minutes! Amazing prices here as well. This place is a Buffalo classic! Awesome to see them open up multiple locations as well. A true classic diner in a world dominated by chain restaurants. 6/5 meal and experience at the Poked Yolk!
This place was GREAT for breakfast, had lots of menu options & also especially great for Gluten free diets- they even plate the food different if it's a gf meal (they use a blue plate) to make sure the distinction is made so no cross contamination (!). My first eggs Benedict in 2 years! Delicious. Super friendly & attentive staff. Will return.
Great easy delicious breakfast! Only waited 15 minutes on a Sunday morning, our server was great! Another server came around offering coffee refills to everyone prior to our food coming which was nice as well! Both our meals were delicious also! I’ve heard a lot of people mention here before but never took the drive out and when we were in the area that morning it was a great opportunity to check it out! I would recommend if you’re looking for a nice easy relaxed breakfast!
We were in Buffalo for the morning and decided to get some breakfast. Yelp steered us to the Poked Yolk, which was a great find. It was after 9:00 am on a weekday and all the tables were full. That's a great sign that this is a place that serves good food. The menu is simple but had a lot of great selections. Our serving staff was efficient and pleasant which was also a big plus. I had the chili dog cheese hash which was very reminiscent of Rochester's garbage plate, and I mean that in a very good way! Everything tasted great in the serving size was spot on. My partner's meal was excellent as well, no complaints. The parking lot is kind of small, so be prepared. The restaurant has worked out an agreement apparently with a neighboring property, so be aware of signs that may point you in the direction of alternate parking. All in all this was a great experience and I'd send people here.
My husband has wanted to eat here for a while and today we finally did. It was delicious! We ordered the homemade hash and home fries with eggs and raisin toast and a side of bacon. It was a great breakfast! Portions are large and I took some leftovers home. I was offered a refill on my coffee many times as well. Our server, Leiann, was great! She was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be making this a frequent breakfast stop.
Clean, friendly, attentive and we had a great waitress! Really yummy eggs Benedict, tea, hash browns (ok) and rye toast with berry jam! My husband door dashed and he say they are always busy while also being very nice to him on a consistent bases. Nice Saturday morning breakfast.
Asked for a recommendation for a place to eat after we completed another stop - and we wanted a diner - and the first place was the Poked Yolk. Definitely a diner vibe- homey and unpretentious. I missed our on getting a Reuben sandwich on St Patty's Day - and it ended up being an all-reuben lunch - I got the Sammy (with fries) and my better half had the Reubens omelet. The sandwich I'd say was just OK- and the fries I'd have given a C - they were a little soggy and I think diners HAVE to have excellent fries. The Reubens omelet though I thought was exceptional - one killer dish!
We pulled into the packed parking lot, and tried guessing on the wait, but to our surprise we were seated immediately. Our waitress, Toni, was friendly, quick to serve and attentive. Food came out promptly, hot, and tasty. I had a veggie hash, sans egg, and feta, my boyfriend had apple cinnamon waffles, and his brother a traditional breakfast. We all enjoyed our meals, the atmosphere, and the service. Second trip - you can definitely tell the difference in cooks. Boyfriend ordered blueberry pancake this time - said it was good. I ordered the same meal today, except with eggs. Bland, burnt potatoes (black), some of the kale is still raw and a bit bitter, but still a decent meal. If this were my only visit, it's doubtful we would have come back. Moral of the story, maybe skip this place on Monday/Tuesday and wait for the other cook.
Order occasionally to go and food portions are not reflective of menu images. Paid extra for home fries with peppers and onions and portion sizes have been consistently underwhelming (interesting because food price wise, I would assume that potato costs are marginal). Food is generally tasty but portion sizes consistently disappoint.
We came in this morning and when we walked in we were greeted by the hostess. We then told her we had a party of 2. She responded “hold one one second.” and walked away. Came back sat 2 different parties that had been waiting, gave a doordasher an order, and ignored us. Then other parties began to arrive and she addressed them, took their names, phone number, and party sizes. I then asked if she put us on this list. She asked me “what’s the name?”. I told her she never asked us for the name and she gave attitude and said “then you’re not on the list.” So then I gave her my name and number for the list, but instead of acknowledging her mistake and simply putting us at the top of the list, we get put at the bottom of the list behind 4-5 other parties who arrived 10-15 minutes after us. Ridiculous. With that kind of service, we will never dine here.
