All I can say is the waitress Sara makes this place! She was our waitress tonight and we loved how personable she is and really made us feel welcome since we are in town for a wedding. What we thought was going to be a quick dinner and head back to the hotel turned into a great date night because of her customer service. Her and Josh would check in on us at the table just the right amount of times. Thank you Sara! Also was great to have delicious Italian food since where we are from doesn’t have authentic Italian restaurants like this one.
Excellent choice for Italian food! We had the Fettuccine Bolognese and the Involtini di Melanzana(Eggplant) and both were delicious! We started with a Clam Chowder that was also great. Our server, Jennifer, was fantastic as well! Very personable and friendly, and knowledgeable! Will definitely return and will be asking for Jennifer! Definitely would recommend this restaurant!
We really enjoyed our lunch here. We got the specials they offered and my Dad had the linguine with clams. He enjoyed it and ate the whole thing! There were lots of clams! The waiter was very attentive and the place was cheery and open, lots of light. I will definitely go back there.
Fine Italian dining with friendly American service. Beautiful, classic architecture with crisp white table linens. I had Fried Calamari (with 2 shrimp for good measure) appetizer - possibly the best I've ever had. For my entree - Linguini Crostacei - mussels, clams, squid and shrimp on freshly made linguine noodles which was totally delicious. Everything about this dining experience was first rate. I most highly recommend Trattoria Uliveto (Olive Grove Restaurant).
this place is so amazing. Food is great Staff is friendly. Stephanie Tracy was our waitress very friendly explains things well. great food.
It was such a perfect day for me and my 2 good friends who drove from LA. I told them Only in Uliveto would you experience that homey atmosphere, heavenly delicious seafood pasta and with Chef Alfonso coming to your table chatting with you. PERFECT 🍷 THANK YOU too for accommodating us yesterday. Appreciate that truly. Thank you Jose for taking care of us. Cin cin
fantastic restaurant. one of my husband’s & i’s favorite places. everything we’ve ever gotten (pizza, entrees, specials, desserts) has always been fantastic and the cocktails are just wonderful. i am from jersey and been living california for a few years and this is the only pizza i will eat ! all the staff is so friendly and helpful. totally recommend !
I love Uliveto’s! Great menu, and delicious cocktails! Excellent place for a date night!
I went there for my birthday! We were served by Alfonso, the Chef & Owner. He is a very likable person and he even joined us for a while and shared the origin story of the restaurant. Everyone that we spoke with shared that it was just who he is as a person. What a delightful human being! We shared a Cesar Salad because they give a decent sized portion. The lettuce was locally grown and it tasted delicious!!! I ordered Fettucine Alfredo (not on the menu BUT always available) with spinach, sundried tomatoes, and garlic...which was delicious. My friend ordered the seasonal pumpkin ravioli. The texture of the pumpkin was smooth, flavorful, and well-seasoned. Please do your self and bring your friends with you when you visit?
Wonderful spot that settles you in for a tasty meal. The staff was friendly and the portions were just right. No complaints, only cozy neighborhood vibes and delicious pasta.
I’ve come here a number of times and every single time I was never disappointed. The food is delicious and the cocktails always are made perfectly. The service is above and beyond what I get anywhere else in the area. Will definitely be back again
The atmosphere and the food is phenomenal! It has become my regular go to spot! If they ever have a filet or semi glazed duck special, get it! You will not be disappointed! If those are not specials/options then I would say to go for any kind of ravioli! You can't go wrong with this place! Also shout-out to Sarah and Alfonso!
The corned beef & cabbage was one of the best I've ever had and the shepherds pie was great also. The service was very good and Jennifer even remembered that Conundrum Red was my favorite! Well be back for sure.
A very popular place in a smaller town called Orcutt. Very traditional Italian food. It is a bit pricey but the food was unique and homemade. I had the pumpkin ricotta ravioli in a sage cream sauce. It was very obvious that the ravioli was homemade and the cream sauce was delicious. It needed salt which is something I rarely say. On a Tuesday night, however, it was relatively crowded and out of all of the places in town it was the only one that had cars throughout the parking lot. They also have delicious desserts and an decent wine list.
We absolutely cherish our family visits to this wonderful local restaurant, which has become a frequent dining spot for us. It's not just the exceptional food that draws us back, but the genuine warmth and hospitality shown by the staff and the owner, Alfonso. He always makes an effort to step out from the kitchen to greet guests personally, ensuring everyone feels welcome and cared for. What truly sets this place apart for our family is the special attention Alfonso pays to our son. He has forged a remarkable connection with him, often inviting him to the kitchen to try his hand at making pizzas. These experiences have made the restaurant a memorable spot for our son, and it’s his absolute favorite! The ambiance is cozy, the menu is delicious, and the staff’s friendliness makes every visit delightful. As realtors, we frequently recommend this restaurant to new homeowners in the area because it embodies the community spirit we love. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by—you won't be disappointed!
Great food, perfect portion sizes, fast and very friendly service. A bit pricey, but worth it for the smiles, fresh food, and phenomenal atmosphere.
First time eating here tonight, and am impressed. Food was amazing. Our table ordered salad, pizza, and two pasta dishes. I got the Linguini Crostacei. The pasta was al dente. The amount of pasta, seafood, and sauce was well balanced. I opted for a lot of cheese on mine. Definitely enjoyed the meal. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive. The temperature was perfect.

We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at Uliveto. Alfonso and Jennifer were so easy to work with during the planning. We provided the decorations and they set everything up for us. Our guests raved about the food and the atmosphere. Stephanie, our waitress in charge that night, was professional and she made sure everything went smoothly. We were able to bring in our own desserts at no extra charge. We highly recommend Uliveto for a large party or just a dinner for two. The food, service and atmosphere make this place a family favorite.
Highly recommend. We have actually been a few times for lunch as well as dinner. Celebrations as well. Friendly, caring staff who do appreciate their clientele. The food is amazing! My favorite pumpkin Ravioli, Pastas, Risotto, all is utmost quality. High praise & much appreciation to the owners for bringing a family owned & operated classic restaurant to our Old Town Orcutt.
The food was absolutely fantastic and so delicious. The portions were very generous. Some of the best Italian food my husband, my son and I ever had! We will definitely be going back soon for another homemade Italian meal. I would give six stars if I could... the food was that good!!
We had a very large company party here last night. Joshua and Monica were so attentive and handled our chaos beautifully. I appreciate their service and smiles- they looked like they were having a great time with us! Food was incredible! My husband had the short ribs and I had butternut squash raviolis from heaven! The owner was working right along side his employees, which is so wonderful to see. Thank you all for the night out!
Easy Parking and wheelchair access. Service was great, prompt, explained the menu and gave gluten free options. Food was excellent as usual. Have dined here several times and never disappointed.

Good traditional Italian food. If I had to guess, it's Neopolitan or south of Naples style. The red sauce had a nice bite like you might get in the arrabiata sauce that has a chile base. The dishes were all done very well along with the antipasto. Service was quite quick but we found it odd that they took our phone number but never called to say the table was ready. Blast pub was next door so the wait was well spent over a beer and good conversation. My only grip was that, in what I might consider higher end Italian cuisine that the details were overlooked. The parmasian cheese at the table was the powdered stye you might find at a local pizzeria. The olive oil seemed to be inferior quality as well. Small things, but ones that make a difference. Overall would recommend. Having lived in Italy for a few years, this may be the closest experience we have had in this area.... Almost forgot the bread was on point!!!
Fantastic as usual. Lovely dining, white tablecloth, great wine list & food. First time ever that I wasn't thrilled with our wait person. He wasn't bad, but not as professional as usual. Didn't remember who ordered what drink/meals, etc, for a 4 top. Maybe he's new. The bus boy was excellent.
My BF and I went in on a Wednesday at 1pm. They close from 2 to 4:30 so beware of the hours. The server has been there for 11 years - he started as a dishwasher - and he was a one-man-show holding it down with no problems. They have a full bar, so that's a plus. He made our drinks and did them well - I got the dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. It literally came out perfectly and I am very picky with my dirty martinis. The server knows the menu bc he's worked every position including the kitchen, so he was well-versed, which is useful because I have way too many allergies. I've gone there before at lunch and I always wonder if dinner is better. I've gone with friends for family style dinner so it's hard to know specifics. Portions were amazing. We ordered arugula salad with beets, goat cheese, and pistachios with balsamic vinaigrette as well as the crispy chicken Caesar. The chicken breast on the Caesar was awesome and plentiful. The beets and goat cheese were also plentiful. Flavors for both salads were on point. We ordered the short rib ravioli special with a vodka sauce as well as the pappardelle with sausage and mushrooms. Those portions were also great. Sadly, the pasta was not my favorite. There was a strange sweetness to the short rib ravioli which I'm guessing comes naturally from the short rib braising, it just wasn't my favorite. The sausage that came with the pappardelle was also just okay. It seemed like store bought rather than fresh ground and taken out of the casings. Also the parsley on the pappardelle dish was too coarsely chopped and overwhelmed the sauce unless you let it soak in for a bit which I did and it ended up tasting better. I will say, both pastas were handmade and I could tell. They had the perfect texture and that alone was worth it for me. Plus, I have strange flavor profile issues so it could have been my own issue although my boyfriend also agreed with the flavors. On the pappardelle dish, I wish they had sauteed the mushrooms a little longer so they caramelized. But again the sauce on that one was really good and don't get me wrong I will definitely be eating the leftovers. We also ended up ordering creme brulee and the cannoli. Unfortunately, the creme brulee was grainy as if it had split and had an eggy flavor which is not what I expect from a creme brulee, however I love flan so it didn't bother me. It did not come with fruit which I always prefer so I would ask them to add that if possible in the future. I will say the cannoli was absolutely the best I've ever had. I love that one side was crusted with chocolate chips while the other was crusted with pistachio. The filling was creamy and I could taste the orange zest. The cannoli shell was so light and crispy, not like some others I've had that are thick and greasy. The desserts were $10 each and I would order that cannoli as a to To-Go order over and over again. The pasta dishes are the only reason I did not give five stars. However, overall we had an amazing experience and would consider it a successful lunch date.
The sauce on the Linguini Crostacei was amazing! Very good dish. I loved the filling inside the Ravioli Di Zucca, however the pasta was cooked less than Al Dente and was a little hard, also too much pasta to filling ratio. And the sauce on the ravioli didn’t have a lot of flavor but overly decent dish. The waitress was extremely friendly and we let her choose our dessert for us! It was also delicious. Would come back again!
We had a delicious dinner on a rainy night. The pumpkin safe ravioli were good as well the pork chop (the night's special). My favorite were the Meatballs. The sauce tasted as if someone's italian Nonna made it. The only item that was bland was the tiramisu.
My only complaint is I couldn't sit outside with the heat lamps, hahaha. But this will be my second visit, and my oh my this time I order the cioppino, man oh man, I will be coming back for this dish again, the salmon was melt in your mouth good, the broth was chef's kiss. On the flip side, my friend got the spaghetti, and that was okay. It was spaghetti, nothing to complain about.

We actually only ate from this Restaurant cause gift cards were gifted to us but it was soooAMAZING!!!!! The lasagna was super yummy!!! Although I would NEVER order from here again only cause I couldn’t afford this ( on fixed income),but HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! 👍

The waitress was very friendly and we were seated promptly. I went here because of my boss, she's been coming here for years. I decided to take my husband and we sat there and they took our drink order. A little bit after they took are food order and we also ordered an appetizer. This is not the type of Italian food I was expecting. It was okay but the plating needs to be a little more nicer and the flavors are okay but it's missing something. I know people like this place, I'm not one of them. It's okay food but it's not for me. I was really hoping to have a nice Italian restaurant closer to home because I usually go to San Luis Obispo to eat Italian food or San Jose but that's only once a month when I visit my daughter. That being said, not everyone likes the same thing and they do have their loyal customers and I wish them the best.
The staff were lovely. I had the sole with piccata sauce . The fish was mealy and the accompanying side was not tasty.
Had dinner here with party of 5 last week, and unfortunately wasn’t our best experience. Sat down for a 6:30 reservation and it felt like our waitress wanted to slow down everything. We couldn’t give her our orders until 7:10. Food was then served at 7:40. Waiting 70 minutes to receive food is never going to end in a positive experience. One in our party didn’t like their dish, and the server was kind enough to scratch it from the bill and offer them a free dessert. I tried their dish and agreed the sauce was not up to the quality I remember from previous visits.
Food is great. Main disappointment was that the waitress Jennifer was not giving good service. I have been here before and I know how big the serving of one of the ravioli dishes is. I asked for 2 servings and I was met with shocked eyes as if I was sure if I wanted 2 servings. I was 100% sure I wanted the 2 servings and she made me feel uncomfortable. I told her I wanted the 2 servings and mentioned it 3 times but she redirected my request saying "are you sure", "how about you wait until you are done with one", "I think it's too much at once". Why question the customer on his/her request. I was going to pay for what I wanted. Rather than offering me the food I wanted, every time she came around she asked me if I wanted a drink. This occured 4 times. It felt like I was at a bar being offered drinks. I came here to have a nice dinner with a friend and she just totally made me feel uncomfortable. In the end I did not have my second serving of ravioli. I felt judged as if I eat too much or shouldn't eat too much. I like the food and when I come, which is not often, I want to enjoy it, not be judged for how much I eat. The waitresses and waiters need to make the customers feel comfortable when they come to have a nice meal. I'm very disappointed with the service.
We’ve eaten here twice. The first time it was great, so we decided to take my in-laws here for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the service was so-so and the food was not great. We ordered an appetizer and asked for some balsamic vinaigrette and received about a tablespoon for a table of 4! My father-in-law ordered the salmon special and it was undercooked in the center. My chicken parmigiana was overdone and parts of it was charred. We also ordered tiramisu and 95% of it was just whipped topping. We got maybe 1 lady finger in the whole thing! I’m not sure we will be back and we will probably not recommend this place to friends anymore. Very disappointed since we had raved about this place to my in-laws before taking them there.
First time here and I had high hopes considering the good reviews. But it just wasn’t a good experience at all. The bruschetta is all dry pizza crust and not much else. I was served the wrong dish and my partner had to eat theirs so it didn’t get cold as I waited for my correct meal to be made. My partner ordered one of the specials and the risotto was so underdone it was crunchy. I told the server the food was so-so when he asked, but he left it at that. I did get a verbal apology for the wrong meal, though. We paid the check, left, and went for dessert elsewhere. It was a way overpriced and disappointing night out.
The service is slow. I understand that there is an employee shortage, however they need to make some adjustments for that. I love the food and drinks, but there is one particular waitress there that is very rude. She literally stood at our table, rather impatiently waiting for us to order. We were only going to have drinks, until she told us we could only stay until 6pm, unless we ordered food. She said they had people with reservations coming in. That was rather contradictory, they had people with reservations, but if we ordered food we could stay. We won't go back and neither will our neighbors. This was not our only time we all had a negative experience there. That day was the last straw.
Strange variation on bruschetta that looked more like a reheated pizza. My rigatoni entree looked like a larger pasta. Prices are a little high for the quality, but the quantity was ok.
Service was good in the bar area. Insalata Mista - salad had too much oil, little flavor other than goat cheese. Parmigiana Melanzana - tomato sauce and pesto is confusing, eggplant too thin, no flavor other than heavy oil. Spaghetti Carbonara w chicken - cream sauce too thick with no flavor. Very heavy and little to taste. Credit card fee of almost $2. Food was too heavy with no flavor. Disappointed for the price. We won't be back.
Sat at the bar. Service was good, the atmosphere was nice, but the food was fair at best. The eggplant was thin and tastless. The brucshetta......you all need to reinvent that. The prices are to high for what you get. For a tasty Italian meal....Pizza Bello Forno. When you first opened, it was good food. Sorry for the write-up, but you need to know.
Made a reservation for 7:15 PM. Arrived at 7:10 PM and notified the host that my party was there. After several people who arrived after me were seated, I asked the host how long it was going to take and they advised it would a few more minutes. 7:45 PM rolled around and the host said it would take another 20-30 minutes. Restaurant doesn’t honor reservations made several days ahead. Customer service was horrible and didn’t make an effort to accommodate my party.
Came in for a drink and some food and the bartender with red/burgundy hair was rude. She wasn’t making eye contact, didn’t give us a menu even though the one’s sitting close to us were given one, took a seed out of the lime with her long finger nail, and gave us the wrong bill. I expected to come and have a nice evening with my friend and this employee just made me feel upset. I expected better service from this place. I have come here several times and the service has gone down.
