Customers rave about the renovated space, friendly staff (especially owner Joyce), and authentic Chinese cuisine. Many highlight the dim sum and Cantonese options. Some found the spice level toned down compared to the previous Chuan Lu Garden.
Tip: Go with a group to share a variety of dishes. Weekends may be crowded, so consider a Thursday lunch for a less busy experience.
If you are thinking about eating here, do it. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and quick. The food is so delicious! They have a few salt and pepper items on the menu, but we asked if they could do salt and pepper chicken, they were very kind and made it for us. It was better than we could have hoped and one of the best salt and pepper dishes we’ve had! The rice was also delicious and so flavorful, you could taste the depth of ingredients used and the textures were perfect! The atmosphere and interior design is so well done, it is very beautiful inside and spacious! They have lots of large tables for large groups of people. They don’t have a Michelin rating, but we feel they should ✨
They’re back, and they’re better than ever! If you love Chuan Fu, you’ll love this place too. They’re by the same owners, but they bring a different experience to the table with its own set of dishes on their menu. The biggest difference being that this location offers a wide variety of dimsum options made fresh and in-house by their own chef. Make sure to ask for that dimsum menu! My favorite dimsum items are the pan-fried radish cakes, fried eggplant and shrimp, and steamed egg custard bun (these are black-colored lava buns that have a sweet and salty filling). When it comes to main dishes, I highly recommend their beef chow fun, stir-fried green beans, sesame chicken, and seafood tofu claypot. In terms of ambiance and overall impression, the ambiance here is sleek and modern. The interior is spacious and clean. And staff are friendly and pleasant. Service is fast without sacrificing the quality and presentation of the food. We have brought a gathering of 20 guests once, and it didn’t take long for food to arrive on our table. All of the guests were very happy that night and left with good things to say towards the food and restaurant. They have a parking lot behind the building, but street parking is also available if the parking lot is full.
Oh, let me tell you how much I adore A Gourmet Chinese cuisine! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the most wonderful and friendly staff. The owner and manager go above and beyond to cater to any dietary needs, making the dining experience truly exceptional. My husband and I can't get enough of their irresistible Lazi Tofu and Lazi Eggplant – they're simply addictive! We have family members who literally fly in just to indulge in these amazing dishes. And let's not forget about their delicious tofu vegetable hot pot, a must-try for sure. The restaurant's modern decor and spacious layout with plenty of tables make it perfect for all types of gatherings, especially family get-togethers. Trust me, if you haven't already, you must come and support this gem – you won't be disappointed!
We came here for lunch to do Dim sum. Finally we were able to try this place out after the fully remodeled, rebranding, and new menu. I loved the old Chuan Lu garden for the many variety of dumplings and some of the great Cantonese dishes they had. So I was super excited to see how Joyce and her team had developed with this new menu. Food: they have a big menu with different style dishes from Cantonese to Szechuan dishes. So today, we only focused on dim sum. Great quality food as I can tell all of it is homemade especially the soup dumplings, rice paste, siu mai, chicken feet, spare ribs, pan fried buns, big shrimp Dumplings, and their delicious egg yolk bun. We ordered their wonton soup and many other dim sum dishes. For à la carte, they came out pretty quick especially when they were busy. Their dim sum menu selections are limited unlike Ten ten. For their food quality I will give it - 5/5 As far pricing: they are in the higher end for dim sum just like YH. But not sure they are pricing themselves out in that neighborhood because there are other dim sum places much cheaper but not as good. I was disappointed that they did not bring back all the different dumplings variety I think the menu definitely could use some improving to be more concise. For Pricing is 3.5/ 5 haha Atmosphere: Great job with the decoration, entrance wall water fall and atmosphere. They just need to add the background music to bring the vibe and ambience. Love the new furnitures and table. Hope they maintain it good!! 5/5 Service: despite being busy, they were very attentive. Love that they kept on checking on us. They refilled our tea without us asking. They clear all the dishes without us asking and kept the table clean. So the restaurant has done a great job training their staff. That is rare in a good Chinese restaurant haha. 5/5 For sure I am coming back to try the other menu items for dinner. I want this restaurant to keep on improving and to do well!
Server did an amazing job. We really enjoyed it a lot. She explained culture and authentic story of each dish making it quite an experience. We came on a Thursday lunch they were not too busy. But weekend could be crowd. Everything was great especially swan crisp so delicate. Highly recommended! Beautiful large party tables.
This spot is another solid option in Orlando if you’re craving Cantonese food, with the bonus of having a few Sichuan dishes mixed into the menu. The menu itself is pretty extensive, so there’s definitely no shortage of choices whether you’re in the mood for something comforting and traditional or want to branch out a little. They also offer dim sum, which is always a nice touch since not every Chinese restaurant in the area does that outside of weekend brunch hours. We decided to go for dinner, and out of everything we tried, the Brisket in Clay Pot stood out as my favorite—it had that rich, slow-cooked flavor and came out piping hot, exactly how a clay pot dish should. Overall, everything we ordered was solid and enjoyable. It may not be the absolute best Cantonese food I’ve had, but it was definitely good, and it adds to the variety and depth of Orlando’s growing food scene.
I am deeply in love with this spot . Very friendly service and the staffs remember you at your second visit. My favorite dishes is their dim sum and Pekin duck , their rice paper is perfect match for the roasted Beijing style duck .
We used to come here before the renovation and now it's even better that before. The food is great, the dim sums without pork are our favorites. The desserts are sweet which is great. The atmosphere is wonderful.
A must-visit gem in Downtown Orlando! We stopped here during the Foodie Bus Crawl, and let me just say—this restaurant stole the show. From the moment we walked in, the staff was impeccable—warm, attentive, and clearly proud of the experience they deliver. Every dish was beautifully prepared, bursting with flavor, and showcased the kind of authentic Chinese cuisine that’s becoming harder and harder to find. The food was truly exquisite—rich, balanced, and made with intention. You can taste the tradition, the skill, and the love in every bite. If you’re in Orlando and want a culinary experience that rises above the rest, A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine deserves a permanent spot on your list. An unforgettable stop on our Foodie Bus Crawl!
Extraordinary service. Food was consistently delicious, servers were plentiful and serviceful. Ordered beef tongue, century egg with eggplant, and many dim sum dishes, all great and at reasonable prices. Will find myself again here.
This is where Chuan La Gardens was, newly remodeled and called A Gourmet, many of same menu items. Food was great, think the spice level got toned down a little, I did not mind the heat. Recommend going with a group of people and ordering a bunch of dishes and sharing, every thing we ordered was good. Service was exceptionally good. Bit pricey since we ordered lot of food. Good job on the remodel, looks nice.
Went during soft opening and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. The taste of Chinese dishes is authentic and seasoned so well that i couldn’t stop eating. Definitely will come back soon with more friends.
We were very impressed with the experience, amazing dishes we had never tried, and would definitely come back. Don’t miss this spot if in Mills 50, and looking for Cantonese or Sechuan!
Yesterday went for their soft opening of a gourmet Chinese cuisines restaurant which used to be called chaun Lu garden! It is nice and huge inside after being closed for a year for their renovation but the owner Joyce is so kind and and their staff is friendly too! Got the spring rolls, general tso chicken, prob belly and all was delicious! Since my food did take a while to arrive the gave me free lemonade and the to go bag is cute and insulated inside! Def recommend if you want authentic Chinese food!

am beyond thrilled that A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine has reopened! The recent renovations have transformed the space into a stunning dining environment that perfectly complements the top-notch cuisine they're known for. Every dish is a culinary masterpiece-always a solid 10! The flavors are rich and authentic, truly capturing the essence of gourmet Chinese cooking. Moreover, the service continues to impress, with staff always going above and beyond to ensure an exceptional dining experience. I couldn't be happier that they're back and better than ever! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal! Love the to go bags! They are so cute 🥰
I had the pleasure of going to the soft opening of ‘a gourmet Chinese cuisine’ today. As a mom with double toddlers, here are the most important highlights They have ample parking including an overflow lot Walking distance from the burrow, mills market and premium matcha The bathrooms are huge, clean and have diaper changing stations They have bench, armchair and good high chair seating The servers are kind and attentive They will soon have a kids menu!!!!! Menu highlights are the Peking duck, shrimp noodles, and anything with pork belly! Special note* Their bok choy is deliciously and perfectly blanched. Before you go make note that the portion sizes are HUGE. We got three entrees two at half sizes and still took home food.
We were very impressed with the experience, amazing dishes we had never tried, and would definitely come back. Don’t miss this spot if in Mills 50, and looking for Cantonese or Sechuan!
Came here for dinner and loved it. Our waitress was very nice and the food was extremely hot and fresh. We ordered the dinner special with the sesame chicken and the Sichuan beef (one of their specialties). We also tried the house special noodles and they were really good too. They served us great portions and the restaurant looked clean and nice. We will definitely come back.
Chuan Lu Garden has been a local favorite of mine for years! Eating here is always so authentic and delicious. The portions are huge and the taste of the food is always spot on! They offer dim sum and boba tea everyday and you can tell it’s made fresh with love. The ingredients are high quality and the seasonings of sichuan makes me feel like i’m back visiting China. A must get there is the beef chow fun!! The homemade thick flat noodle with their umami style sauce is a huge winner for me, you won’t be disappointed. Another fan favorite is the Laziji chicken. The flavors of sichuan, garlic, and ginger are so aromatic with the perfect bit of spice for that numbing feeling. The soups are hot & bountiful, the fried shrimp balls are crunchy and light, and the crab rangoons actually have crab filling! Seriously, everything they make here is so good. The staff is very friendly and attentive and always greet you with the biggest smile. Brenda always makes me feel like i’m at home and constantly checks on the guests throughout the restaurant. I’ve met the owner a couple of times and she is a delight that is proud of business. This place is large enough for big groups and offers a beautiful family setting to share food & enjoy the ambiance. When I want authentic Chinese food, I always go to Chuan Lu Garden - end of story!
2nd time I've come here. And once again, it was INCREDIBLE. This time the robot was dressed as barbie but I guess the robot couldn't fit in our row we were sitting in :(. Workers are always friendly, food was incredible. We got the Bok Choy with Shiitake Mushrooms, House Lo Mein, the soup dumplings are a MUST HAVE, also got the shell shrimp dumplings, and the spicy pork and beef skewers. We also got a huge spiced fish. Everything was delicious. We had a bit of a mistake with the boba teas but it got figured out. Will definitely come back. Hopefully one day they will open the karaoke again so I can sing my heard out. Side note: last time they were playing Chinese cartoons on the TV. Bring that back cause I was INVESTED in the story they were telling.
I was here with a large group of friends last night and had a great time. It's really beautiful on the inside, very modern and spacious, yet very cozy. The food and service was excellent and all of my friends had a great experience. I definitely recommend visiting!
What a surprise this place turned out to be. Absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back for another visit. Outside may scare away some people as it is not a modern look. However, once inside and greeted by Peanut(our lovely robot host), we were intrigued. The menu is vast with authentic options and even have a second menu for their dim sum. The food is family style. So don’t let some of the prices scare you. You get plenty for the price.
Service was awesome & the food was too! The only bad thing was the meat dish on the burner we hated the taist. It had weird burning taist. But someone else might like it we don't like spice things. Everything else was awesome taisting. My favorite was the purple egplant and the egg lava custerd dumpling. The cat tray robot was bringing checks to people's tables. It was so cute!!
I have been a loyal patron of our favorite restaurant in Orlando for over 11 years now, and it's safe to say that my family and I are addicted to their incredible dishes. We can't get enough of the Lazi eggplant, Lazi tofu, and tofu hotpot - they never disappoint! This authentic Szechuan restaurant truly knows how to utilize numbing Szechuan peppercorns to elevate their flavors. It's no wonder my family flys in just to satisfy their cravings! Thank you to the restaurant and chef for consistently delivering such delicious and unforgettable meals. Your dedication to keeping these amazing dishes on the menu is truly appreciated. A very big Thank You to Michael for always ensuring that we have a fantastic dining experience.
There were a lot of great things about this place: the environment, the food, and the service. The environment is very beautiful and relaxing. The food was extremely flavorful to the point that even my picky grandparents, accustomed to NYC Chinatown flavor, had thoroughly enjoyed this place. Our waitress, Mary, was extremely accommodating and sociable. When we asked her to take a family picture, she arranged all of the food on the table to look nice, and did very good job. The food was in pretty large portions. We ordered the xiao long bao, which was delicious and filling. The lamb skewer was pretty decent, but what impressed us the most was the sichuan dishes. We got the boiled fish with chili sauce and assorted beef and chicken dry pot, both of which had an amazing sichuan taste.
Absolutely delicious!!! I’m from NY so my Asian food taste bar is pretty high. We walked in on a Saturday around 7pm and were greeted by a fantastic host. When the waitress came to our table she was extremely helpful recommending dishes and explaining some that we had questions about. The food was delicious! Had the soup dumplings and although I would have preferred they had more soup inside dumpling, the flavor and consistency were perfect. Also ordered shrimp balls which our waitress recommended and they were great!! Scallion pancakes, scallion fritters, and a spicy chicken with chili sauce. We also ordered a chicken lo Mein which was the main star of the night. It definitely falls under best lo Mein I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend you try this restaurant. Customer service, cleanliness and food taste are superb!
What a great little walk up! Room for seating and cute decor! The staff is very helpful and very friendly! The place was clean. The star of the show was the food! What flavor!!!! Portioned correct, priced right, and made fresh! My favorite was the strawberry foam and those chicken nuggets!!
What a pleasant surprise! The menu offered various unique items you don't find often in Orlando. The flavor and quality of our food was spectacular and definitely worth the rave review we got from a friend. I had the pan fried pork dumpling that was as unique looking as tasty, the hot and sour soup small that had a small kick that made my taste buds jump, and the Zhajiang hand pull noodles that was delicious. We also tried their Ma Po Tofu with minced pork that was out of this world as well as their stir fried green beans with eggplant - a recipe I definitely need to get! The Krab puffs were also worth a try so all in all a wonderful feast for sure. Our waitress Ace made us feel welcome and had great suggestions on what to try and helped make the evening memorable.
We love A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine. We've been loyal customers since it was Chuan Lu Garden and have been twice during their soft opening. The food is tasty as usual with an upgraded atmosphere and guest experience. Our favorite dishes are still on the menu with some new ones to try too. We are excited to return!
We had a very large group (almost 30 of us) and they readily accommodated all of us. The service was friendly and attentive despite our rowdy crowd (19 teenagers) and the food was excellent. I sampled a number of things and they were all very good, but I mostly focused on the five-flavor shredded pork and the salt-and-pepper fish. The fish was perfectly crispy and flaky and fantastic, and the pork was cooked just right, tender and loaded with flavor. They have a HUGE menu, which can be a bad sign because sometimes that suggests that they don't do any one thing well, but everything I had defied that concern. The tables are set up with lazy susans for easy sharing and the atmosphere is just a tad gaudy in a playful way -- right up to the robot that picked up our checks (yes, really, see the pic). Many in our group were Chinese and the place got their stamp of approval, too, which probably says more than anything else I can tell you. I would very happily eat here again and again and again until I worked my way through the menu...
As Felix from the band Stray Kids once said, “Cooking like a chef, I’m a 5 star Michelin.” A better sentence could not be constructed to describe this restaurant. One year ago, I travelled here with my merry band of friends to eat dinner on the first night of our [very eventful] trip to Universal Studios. That dinner quickly became an experience I and my taste buds could never forget. Luckily, 8 hours is never too far to travel for great food, so when the opportunity came for us to leave Georgia and come indulge in Chuan Lu Garden cuisine I hopped on it faster than the Millennium Falcon can jump to light speed. (Was this trip intended for Disney? Yes. Did I consider returning to this restaurant far more important? Also yes.) Let me just say, the soup dumplings were just as sublime as I remembered. Last time we graced the doorstep of this fine establishment I described them as the sort of food that’ll “tuck you in and leave a little kiss on your forehead”*, and I would like to add that this time around they threw in a bedtime story and a massage for good measure. My stomach is pleasantly full and my heart has never been happier. We brought a different friend here for the first time and when those dry fried green beans came out she was a goner. She turned into a bean eating speed machine and has not shut up about them since. The food we ordered was so perfect that we had to sit in silence for a little bit to reflect on all the life decisions that led us back to this heavenly kitchen. Our waiter seemed surprised that I managed to down an entire pot of green tea by myself but I challenge any of y’all to taste tea that good and not immediately swallow all of it. (Though, perhaps I am a bit biased towards hot tea.) 10/10 service; it was apparently our waiter’s first day working but bro did so well. (If you’re out there reading this, we were the table of 3 that downed 5 portions of food in about 20 minutes and then laughed ourselves silly. Also you were lowkey really cute HSBKSNS. Keep up the good work! 💪😮💨💯👊🔥🦅) Much like we stuck forks into our soup dumplings to cool us down, if you stuck a fork into us now you would similarly find us full of soup. If you could somehow see heaven without dying, we’ve certainly glimpsed it inside that bamboo steamer. Keep cheffing it up in there; y’all’s food is bussin’ and we will definitely find another way to get down here again. Highly recommend this place to people who are tired after a long day and just need some comfort food. Order the soup dumplings and green beans for our sake, and we shall live vicariously through y’all from a state away. 🫡 *Apparently you can’t leave 2 reviews for the same place with the same Google account, so if you see a review from Azumon from a year ago that is also me ^-^
My wife found this restaurant looking for soup dumplings which aren’t severed anywhere we live (Palm Bay, FL). Yesterday my wife and myself were on a day date together went to Orlando outlets and I decided as a Valentine’s Day treat to go here and get her the soup dumplings she’s been craving. Hands Down! Chuan Lu Garden is such a comforting and welcoming environment!! We got to experience it all and take it in. We got in an hour and a half just before their dinner rush, especially knowing they would super busy being Valentine’s Day. Our hostess was amazing upon our arrival. Our server!!! She was above and beyond. Also the rest of the staff. The food was comfort felt and savory! This coming from a guy that came out of his comfort zone here. I told my wife prior to going I have no clue what I’m going to order. We got Steamed Buns, Soup Dumplings, Pork Skewers, Beef Fried Rice, Pork Lo Mien, and Veggie Spring Rolls. Everything was amazing and mouth watering. I have never been so comfort felt by a meal other than my grandmas home cooking. Our server was super sweet and helpful. She recommended a sauce for her lo mien and my wife was like “oh this is really good with the sauce she recommended!” We even got a small valentines surprise treat which was DELICIOUS! You have made us feel welcomed and cared for so we thank you for the service given!! We are definitely going to become regulars and will be visiting again on Feb 27th to celebrate my wife’s and I 3 year wedding anniversary! Can’t wait to see you all again and enjoy the service, food, and can’t forget the robot it had me geeking out! It was adorable and so cool!!
This is an amazing Chinese food and Dim Sum restaurant! I've eaten dim sum all over the world, including China, and this is one of the best in the United States! The soup dumplings were amazing, amazing dim sum, chili chicken, shrimp on a stick, even the green tea was great 👍! They even have a robot that seats you! So fun and cool 😎! I could recommend this place more! We will definitely be going back when we are in Orlando next! 😃😊
Best beef chow fun ever. And I had best hot and sour soup in years. It was actually hot and sour! Some Sichuan flavor can be too much for novices so make sure to double check your Sichuan spice tolerance before placing an order. Now the beef chow fan. I have no idea what they do with the chow fan noodles, but it was the most tender(and chewy at the same time) noodle I’ve ever had. You can expect similar texture in all of their seemingly home-made dim sum dumplings. Awesome.
Three things happen when you walk in. You want to stay; you love the music, and you are aware of the attentive kindness of the host. It was obvious he wanted us to be comfortably seated. Patrons arriving in a wheelchair are not usually given preferential treatment and the respect for us throughout our dining experience could not have been more evident. Our server introduced me to Chrysanthemum tea with rock sugar, as if anything could out-do the sweet iced tea she served. I loved being there.
Really authentic Chinese food, Dimsum available, soup dumplins available, and a host of traditional Chinese dishes. Food was very delicious, tasted really fresh and delivered with a friendly service. They also have serving robots that brings deserts and the bill. Do give them a try.
Tbh i ddnt expect much from this place when we wnt to try it out for the first time and i remained surprised. Good service and delicious food. But im sure its not for everyone. Its more on the spicy side. Soups and steamed dumplings are amazing. Prices in my opinion are very affordable. We going here preatty often and for 2 pple usually pay around 60$ and still taking some food home. Give it a try and you may find yourself a new favorite Chinese restaurant.
FANTASTIC! Stopped here for dumplings. Wasn't disappointed at all. And the price is AWESOME. The decor is pretty. The menu is really well organized and full of colorful pictures of the dishes. We just ordered off of the dumpling menu front and back. The prices for all the dishes are based on Small medium or large. Large being only 5 dollars for the dish. So we ordered several dumplings. The steamed dumplings were great. And the Xiao Long Bao was so good. We got the shrimp egglplant and a scallion pancake. And I got a small eggdrop soup. It was huge for a small. Very flavorful. So happy I came here. I'm never disappointed getting good food out colonial and mills. Best food in the Orlando area is in the heart of colonial and mills Ave. Our server was also so sweet! She loved how exciting we were every time the food came out. And was very attentive to anything we needed.
My friend found this place by visiting the photography store across the street. He and his family tried this restaurant once and recommended to me. We paid a visit 2 days later and I am Surprised the taste here is much better than most Szechuan flavors restaurants in Los angeles. enjoy the authentic Szechuan pepper&chili dishes! Highly recommended for authentic southwest Chinese———Szechuan food.
If i had a dollar for all the times i’ve eaten at Chuan Lu Garden, i’d be rich! I’ve eaten my way through their menu, but my favorite thing to order hands down has to be their beef chow fun. The portion is huge, the homemade noodles are chewy and delicious, and it’s such a warm comforting dish to eat. The pork bao buns are fluffy and fresh and the shumai is authentic. They serve dim-sum everyday from lunch to dinner which is another great reason to visit. Food always comes out hot and fresh. You can tell everything is homemade and prepared very well. The restaurant is always clean and the ambiance is eclectic with the boba stand in the corner, the koi pond with a huge horse statue, and the large family style tables to share foods! The staff at Chuan Lu are so inviting and kind. Brenda is always the first one to greet you with the most welcoming smile. Second, is peanut their cute robot that seats you at your table. Every waitress i’ve had has always been attentive and sweet. I’ve had the server, Zhou many times and she is a delightful person! We even had someone with allergies in our group and she was fast and knowledgeable to recommend dishes to them! Even during their rush times, I feel like i’ve always been greeted fast and made aware that i’ve been seen. I feel like family when I come here because they always remember me and my order. The staff is so easy to strike a conversation with and they are so helpful when it comes to ordering. For sure a type of restaurant where the locals come to eat!!
This interior was incredible! Ok so the greeter at the front was a pure professional. From start to finish she greeted and welcomed us in like family. We got seated and things got shaky. I think they might have been short staffed. Our waitress seemed very bust. When she did make it over to us she was stunning. Very friendly didn't rush us one bit explained the menu and helped us find why we came in the first place. Soup and pork dumplings! Along with Dan dan noodles. the dumplings were great dan dan noodle weren't as spicy as I was looking for but still quality. I highly recommend stopping by. I will be back with some friends and explore more of that menu.
Best Chinese food in Florida! I’ve been here once a week ever since the first time. It’s just so good! Everything is tasty & flavorful. Never greasy or heavy. At this point I’ve tried half the menu and enjoyed everything. The Vegetable fried rice actually has fresh vegetables (mushrooms, broccoli, carrots etc) you can get it with or without soy sauce, we tried both. The vegetable lomien was very good as well. Steamed soup dumplings are super yummy & my absolute favorite it’s the crispy spicy fried chicken & chilies (La zi chicken) followed by the Cumin lamb. For those less adventurous try the orange chicken, Kung pao chicken, chicken & broccoli in white sauce. Like I said Nothing I have tried was disappointing. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous.
I feel like this is one of Orlando’s under rated restaurants. It’s in plain sight in the middle of the busy Mills area. We always walked by the restaurant but never tried it until recently. This place does not disappoint. It’s probably one of the best Chinese gourmet food we’d ever had. The place is gorgeous on the inside and the service was top tier. Shu Ting was our server and she was magnificent. She took the time to explain the options on the menu and recommend a lot of tasty dishes! After weeks of visiting the place I still have cravings for their food.
Loved it! Stopped by for lunch. Ordered the La Zi Chicken, Hakka Style braised pork and Lotus Delight. All very flavorful. Restaurant is large and clean. Great spot for family gatherings.
I have updated my review. I previously had a bad experience as far as the food was concerned decided to give it another try and its a huge difference. It could be that I did a completely different order but regardless the food went from bland to super flavorful. I will come back %100 and my previous review may have sounded a bit much but its not intentional its strictly about the food and not personal whatsoever. I really enjoy this time and it was a complete 180. Thank you.
I've been a regular at this restaurant since before the renovation. While there are some menu items I certainly miss, the food has always been of high quality and that has remained consistent in both before and after renovations. The restaurant's new look is sleek and beautiful, the food is divine, and the staff are always so attentive and sweet! Shu-Ting in particular has served tables I've been at several times, and has always done an amazing job making sure everything is taken care of perfectly!
So good - cannot recommend this place enough! Start with the garlic green beans and the sweet ribs, then move to the king pao and sesame chicken. Add a cocktail from the beautiful bar. There’s plenty of parking in the back, with a back door that makes it easy to get to. If you want take out, it’s super speedy and comes with the cutest bag! And the people could not be nicer Ten thousand stars from me!
This used to be Chuan Lu Garden. We would always get the boiled fish because it's so tasty. We were nervous but decided to order take-out from A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine. We did had difficulty ordering because the menu has significantly changed and the person taking our order wasn't sure what we were asking for. So we physically drove to the location to place our order in person. We weren't sure if the order was going to come out correct. But it did. And it was delicious. We will return. Hopefully the restaurant will remaining consistently good. I will provide an update after our next visit.
We went to this establishment right after their reopening. The restaurant is very large and the decor is very modern and tasteful. There were only about two tables occupied besides ours. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had several Dim Sum choices that we chose from a paper Dim Sum menu. Every choice came out hot and were delicious. We also ordered a garlic bok choy that was the best ever. We also ordered a fried noodle and chicken dish that was disappointing. The waiter told us that they will eventually have dim sum carts. In our way out we did see some dishes being brought out that looked amazing. Especially the hot pot. We will be back
Very good. Dim sum is great, a lot of delicious staples. Service is good, very large space and newly renovated, looks beautiful. Really like the beef chow fun, chewy noodles and tender beef! I will bring all my friends and family here for dim sum next time.
We had the pleasure of trying out this new restaurant recently and we loved it. The atmosphere is inviting and clean, the service was great, and the food was delicious! We have a hard time finding authentic Asian food in the Orlando area and we finally found it. We can’t wait to come back!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this outstanding Chinese food restaurant, and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience from start to finish. I can confidently say that this place deserves all the praise it receives and more! First and foremost, the service was top-notch. From the moment I entered, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel welcome. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were quick to offer recommendations and catered to any dietary preferences or special requests. The level of professionalism and genuine care for the customers was truly commendable. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh, the food was absolutely amazing! Every dish I tried was a delightful explosion of flavors. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, and each one was prepared with great skill and attention to detail. From the perfectly steamed dumplings to the mouthwatering stir-fried noodles, every bite was a taste sensation. The ingredients were fresh, the spices were balanced, and the presentation was visually appealing. It's evident that the chefs are experts in their craft, and their passion for Chinese cuisine shines through in every dish. As for the interior, it was cool and stylish. The decor blended traditional Chinese elements with modern touches, creating an ambiance that was both elegant and inviting. The attention to detail in the design and layout of the restaurant added to the overall dining experience. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or even on a date, the atmosphere sets the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable meal. In summary, this Chinese food restaurant deserves every bit of praise it receives. The exceptional service, amazing food, and cool interior combine to create an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Chinese cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, this place is an absolute gem. I highly recommend paying a visit and indulging in their culinary delights. You won't be disappointed!
Stumbled upon this restaurant a couple months ago and we have been addicted since. Food is delicious never disappointed with everything we order. Our order to be exact is pork fried rice, the la zi chicken, chicken and broccoli ( absolutely delicious)! Best we have had since moving from nyc and we tried alot of places in Orlando as we always go out to eat. Pork buns and dumplings as well delicious definitely recommend for any one looking for a chill relax vibe family friendly. I’ read some of the reviews and I’m truly shocked any one would rate it below 4 stars!
We had a dinner nearby and not satisfied so we walked around the neighborhood to find authentic dimsum and found this place. As we walked in, we saw a table next to us having steamed pork buns, pan fried dumplings and beef chow fun so we ordered the same. We literally just had a dinner and full but these food were so good we ate most of it! They make noodles in house. Chow fun texture was nothing like I tasted before. Steamed pork buns were huge and tasty. Pan fried pork and chive dumplings were so delicious. Price was good, and ended up paying low $30s for 3 people. It is now our “must go” place when we are in Orlando.
Solid choice for Chinese food in the area! You’re a bit outside the tourist trap parts of Orlando so prices are more reasonable. Cute interior with plenty of seating, service is friendly and quick. Really enjoyed the food here, especially the dry pot. Everything was umami and delicious :) The drinks they had were very underwhelming. There’s a very small lot nearby but street parking is manageable to find. Overall would recommend.
am beyond thrilled that A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine has reopened!
My family and I had a good experience here. The braised beef in clay pot, eggplant stuffed with shrimp, and beef chow fun was our favorite. Next time will have to try other different dishes. Will definitely be back next time we visit Orlando!
This was a beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and truly attentive service! We tried several different buns and dumplings, beef brisket noodle soup and sesame chicken. This was the best tasting we’ve ever had for these dishes compared to other restaurants. Truly delightful, we only regret being under-dressed for this lovely experience. We are already looking forward to coming back ASAP. The quality of this food is most notable, though it is a tough rival with the service and atmosphere. Thank you so much for this experience and meal!
This is GOURMET and HIGH END Chinese food with REASONABLE and AFFORDABLE prices!! The staff are AMAZING!! We have been there 3 or 4 times and we drive all the way from New Port Richey, FL just to experience this peaceful and delicious dining place! Staff is efficient, helpful, and go above and beyond. Our waiter was Chris on March 2, 2026 and he was so nice and helpful! We are the eggplant 🍆 dish on the lunch special and it was phenomenal. Also, the wonton soup is GOURMET..... JUAN OR JOHN is the host and he is so sweet! He offered to take pictures of our girls day out!!

We have been long time fans of Chuan Lu Garden, so we were so excited it finally opened back up!! The staff were very friendly and attentive, though I will note that for most of our dining experience we were the only people there. The renovations look great - more modern and sleek. It did feel like a large conference center though. There is a dim sum menu that we had to ask for separately. We got the house fried rice, dry fried green beans, pan fried pork buns, soup dumplings, and the beef chow fun. Surprisingly, the beef chow fun had more beef than noodles. All the food was great, though just a half step below from before the renovations. The prices have gone up a bit, but that’s not a surprise. It’s definitely worth a visit!
First time trying this place with my family. It’s very spacious on the inside and pretty. The service was wonderful and our server was super sweet. However, the food was just okay, we ordered the spicy free range chicken which was okay, it was just a cold boiled chicken and the sauce was oily but the cucumbers in it were good. Soup dumplings wasn’t really that good or the shrimp shumai. I did really enjoy the beef chow fun though. Portions are very small here so I would say that a family of 3 would be good but if you bring more people definitely order a lot more food.
Went to the newly opened A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine around 6pm for my friend birthday celebration. The interior is beautiful and it feels like you are in a high end restaurant. The service was real good. We had the braised pork belly, Mongolian beef, Sichuan chicken in peppercorn(cold dish), beef noodles and the eggplant. Each platter was delicious. I will note that the "spicy" dishes wernt that spicy which is my preference. Wish they had more variety of appetizers to choose from. Overall a great time.

This place is famous as a Chinese restaurant in Orlando. The food taste is great and the price is reasonable. Portion size is good. Opens until 2 am so good for late night dining. The only thing that can be improved is the service speed. It took ~15 min to be served while there were only 2-3 tables.
Had krab puff, cumin beef and la zi chicken, very tasty food. We arrived there very late in the night, so food was not steaming hot. I would've given 5 stars if the food was hot. Krab puff was too good, cumin beef was tasty, and chicken was dry but flavourful. I would try their food again at regular time, so I get hot food. Server was very nice and quick.
This late afternoon, we went for the 2nd time after it changed its name and after the remodeling. We asked the waiter if the kitchen can make hot and sour soup. After he said yes, we waited eagerly. When the soup arrived, it was full of liquid, no pork, little tofu, and little egg, and the taste is weird. For this pot of sludge, they charged $18.99. Damn it. We will never go back. This restaurant will lose customers in no time. Trust me! Don't waste your money here.
Very large portion suited well for sharing. We went with the family for my birthday. My shrimp/veggie dish smelled extremely strong, but I'm not sick so all is good. We also tried the shrimp lo mein, chicken fried rice, general tso, steamed rice, peppered chicken, and steamed meat bread. Overall atmosphere was decent, but the waitress refused to let me pack my leftovers.
Best Chinese food in Orlando. This is definitely worth the drive. The staff are friendly and the local Sichuan dishes are great. Price is high for some dishes and appropriate for others. The Cumin Lamb was well worth eating. We will be back and we will continue to become regulars here. Thanks for serving authentic Chinese food!
One of the most authentic Chinese Restaurants in Orlando. The chef can literally cook any Chinese dish you want, from any region. The only complain I have is that they don’t specialize in a specific cuisine, like Cantonese, Sichuan, or Hunan. They kinda mix and match the flavors which is gets kinda confusing. Other than that this place is amazing.
the remodel came out really good. the flavors of food was pretty good but portions were small and food came out really slow even though the restaurant was maybe 1/4 - 1/3 full when we went. not sure what happened , maybe they were undstaffed that day in the kitchen. it may be while before we go back
The stir fried green beans paired with minced pork were delicious; we couldn’t get enough! They were wok fried so the outside was a little bit crispy while the inside maintained the tender juiciness. The beef tripe was the best we’ve ever had. We normally don’t have spicy foods but we kept on eating this until we broke a sweat. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the tender celery made everything come together. The traditional noodles reminded us of China with the cool sliced cucumber, sweet soy sauce minced pork and the egg noodles. Just the hotpot of the spicy chicken really disappointed us. It was way too expensive for the tough pieces of chicken and the overly poured red oil. Overall though, we always come here if we are looking for a taste of spicy china!
Great food options and beautiful ambiance inside the restaurant. Highly recommended for group of 2-5 people! Owner/manager needs to overhaul service for larger parties (20+ people). The restaurant staffs and cooks are not able to serve large parties adequately. Lots of potential if owner can solve for parking space, service level and portion control for large groups.
I am from Toronto, which probably has the best Cantonese food In North America. I visited relatives in Orlando in mid December. They brought me to the A Gourmet Chinese Cuisine, which is new and high end. The restaurant has a very big dining room with a beautiful well stocked bar. However, the room resembles more like a cafeteria because the tables do not have tablecloth and furnished with very plain tables and chairs. After we were seated, I was very surprised to find The setting in front of me consisted of nice China and, A PAIR OF TAKEOUT WOOD CHOPSTICKS in papeR wrap. I have eaten in many many Chinese restaurants in North America, and I don’t remember seeing takeout chopsticks used in the dining room in a Chinese restaurant. This was a total contrast to this supposedly high-end restaurant. The herbal chicken soup, appetizers and Other dishes were quite quite good. However, The texture of the steamed sea bass did not taste like it was fresh. The lobster typhoon shelter style also tasted like the lobster was not live when it was cooked. The dining room staff were all very efficient and pleasant.
Went to this place for the first time. It's been around for years so I finally made it there. I had the rabbit. It was my first time trying it. I enjoyed it, definitely different. I will say it will not be for everyone, it's spicy the way I like it but it was also a little boney. Over all I love it. I would definitely recommend it if you're adventures. The orange chicken was great the hand pull noodle spicy beef was excellent. Definitely worth a go. They have a vast menu so I definitely will be going back to pick more of that menu. Great food.
Ok Chinese food, but there's definitely better options in Orlando. Some of the dumplings seemed undercooked. Our favorite out of everything we tried was probably the stir fried green beans. Prices were reasonable and service was friendly. The restaurant itself seems a bit dirty and the water in the koi tank definitely needs cleaning. We probably won't be coming back. Edit: Came back after their recent major renovation and name change. We were pleasantly surprised. They've got "Squirrel Fish" , which is very hard to find. If I had to grade it, it would have been 80-85/100. I'd come back to try more dim sum menu items. Service was friendly, and prices were a bit high.

Came here on Christmas Day. We dined here during their limited soft opening as well. The food overall was good, service is friendly but their system is very unorganized right now. Out of the 4 dishes we ordered, 3 were sent to the wrong table, we also had 2 dishes come to our table that we didn’t order and were met for other tables. I noticed the same thing happening to other tables as well. They need to have a better system to fix this even if it means putting numbers on every table until they figure out a better training method.
Good dining experience based on indoor aesthetics and service, but the food was just ok. More specifically it was great to have a picture filled menu and cute robots. We ordered a few items including pea shoots, stuffed eggplant, chicken foot, shrimp dumplings, and chicken fried rice. The food was overall much too greasy.. and while we genuinely enjoyed the fried rice and dumplings (worth returning for) everything else was disappointing. Furthermore, although they do have bubble tea they completely lack a dessert menu.
The food was solid, not the best I've had in Orlando for Cantonese but very tasty. The problem is with the service. It took my braised pork belly almost 30 minutes to arrive while the restaurant was virtually empty (just me and 2 tables when I got there). Then my waiter went on break without notifying his colleagues so I just sat there waiting for him forever to ask for the check. It wasn't until I got up and flagged someone down that I could actually pay and leave. Kind of ridiculous.
Came during soft opening to give the place a shot. Wasn't too impressed. Food is average, the price is a bit on the higher end, and I was expecting service closer to YH's Seafood but it wasn't anywhere close. Best part is that they help box any food you have leftover to go. Can't recommend this place in it's current state.
I went today Feb 7 for lunch, two weeks after my first visit. I completely changed my rating. I gave them now two stars and I am being very generous. Unfortunately, the food was not well prepared and the ingredients were not fresh at all. In fact I feel the food was prepared and was just reheated on the microwave! Very sad! Yonqun thank you for your service again but over all service and food were not consistent. My comments from two weeks is below! 太感谢了 Thank you so much Yanqun. You made our time in the restaurant fabulous. With very little English she made us feel happy, welcomed and special. The food is so good! One of the best Chinese restaurants in the northeast and southern USA. Fresh ingredients and well prepared, also the presentation is excellent. The ambiance in general is happy. The staff in general are relaxed and kind. The Robots are sweet and polite. I noticed an american young gentleman speak Chinese , Bravo Bravo. Keep it up
Everything was super bland and not very tasty. The prices are so high for what they give you, especially the dim sum. Ended up paying $60 for two people to eat (and we didn't even order that much food) and we were severely disappointed with just about everything. The soup dumplings are okay, but had very little soup inside and were not that hot when they came out. The spicy beef noodle soup was terrible. It simply tasted like dirty water and had NONE of the traditional spices or seasonings it was supposed to have to give it flavor. They give you a huge bowl of this but none of it is palatable or enjoyable to actually eat. It wasn't even spicy! The krab Rangoon and custard buns were probably the best things we ordered and even those were too overpriced for what they gave you! The restaurant was generally clean and the service wasn't bad so that's really the only reason why I gave a 2 instead of a 1. Please PLEASE do yourself a a favor and look for other places to eat in the area because you'll be much happier with what you get for the price. There's a TON of Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, etc.) places within walking distance of this restaurant, try out those instead!!
STAY AWAY! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! We ordered to go from this restaurant to celebrate Lunar New Year. We have never been to this place, but it had good reviews, so I was very excited to try this place. However, when we walked in, there was no one there to greet us, so we were a bit lost. We didn't think too much of it since we understand restaurants can be busy especially a Chinese restaurant on lunar New Year's Eve. After we placed our to go order, we waited for about 30 mins (again no worries we understand the situation). When we got home and opened our takeout, we realized that the host made a mistake and gave us noodles instead of the fried rice we ordered We gave them a call to let them know what happened, and he immediately tried to gaslight us. He continually acted very rude and took absolutely no accountability saying "I don't know what you want me to do for you, you ordered noodles" This is absolutely unacceptable for customer service. We never EVER order noodles, so I know for a fact that I didn't order noodles. He proceeds to try and challenge me and say "you have no proof I don't know what to tell you." This place is absolutely awful STAY AWAY FROM GOURMET CHINESE KITCHEN! The food was bland. We got pork soup dumplings, the wrapper was too think and was hard. The orange chicken tasted just like sweet chicken. The noodles were horrible.
So disappointed in our experience. We got here at 5:30. They were already out of Peking duck. There were only a few people here. We ordered and it took forever for our apps to come. We also asked for a dim sum menu and were told there no longer serving it. But then people around us kept getting menus and having it served. At this point we are nearing 2 hours. The one entree this has come out was cold and they reheated the same one despite that we had plated it and put it back in. We requested a new one and eventually got it but we never got the remainder of our meal. Worst Christmas meal experience. The waiter really tried, but had no support from the host who is acting like a manager saying no more dim sum and lying to my face. Then when I tried to ask what is happening assuming he was the manager, he said 10 more minutes ( it’s been 45 with nothing but cold food). And when I tried to get another update 1/2 way in, he was dismissive and cut me off and answered a phone call and walked away. The manager eventually came out and comp’d what we gotten. But still a very disappoint experience. I will say the food that we did get was flavorful.
