I cannot say enough about how fantastic this place is! Came here with a group of six for magical dining on a Friday night. We were sat promptly and had the privilege of sitting in the private dining room, which is a small chapel like room off the main dining area. It is so adorable and well decorated. The staff bent over backwards with kindness! Each staff member was nicer than the next. Our server was Steve And and he was fantastic, gave great menu recommendations, and was very attentive to us! Another standout was Brian, the “Waterboy“ who, despite it being only his fourth day there, was incredibly professional And attentive! The food was phenomenal, we did not have anything we did not absolutely love! We had the best time, and ended up spending well over 2 hours just hanging out! The pace of the meal was relaxed and not rushed at all! There are so many great menu items, we will definitely be back!
Went with my mother in law to visit this restaurant for the first time during magical dining. I checked it out online prior to get a feel for where we were going and what the parking situation would be like. Parked on Shine just after turning onto the street and walked maybe a block or so to get to the restaurant. Not far at all. Our food choices were tasty, the staff was nice, the vibe and decor was eclectic. Chill, laid back. We reserved seating at the bar which was ready for us when we arrived. My only comment would be that it was very warm inside. I run pretty hot as it is, so my "comfort level" is to be in a cool space. I was a bit warm and sweaty throughout the dinner. They did have some oscillating floor fans placed throughout the interior that helped a little. At the end of the night one of the owners even came over to say hello and welcomed us for stopping in. Very kind 😊 Will be back when the weather cools down so we can try the outdoor dining experience next time 😉
Kirt and Maxine Earhart, Owners of Maxine’s on Shine Maxine is an angel! Pleasure to meet her. This culinary power couple received as many nominations as anyone on this year’s list, with fans praising them as the kind of small business owners who make a community feel like home. Their restaurant, tucked into a residential neighborhood just east of downtown Orlando, offers sidewalk dining and showcases local artists. Beyond the restaurant, both are active in philanthropic efforts and outspoken advocates for fellow small businesses. To top it all off, their food has earned recognition from the Michelin Guide, with one nominator calling Maxine’s “one of those brilliant local gems that every city should be proud to have.” The food was amazing, and Julie behind the bar made incredible drinks. Now that’s what you call a bartender — top-tier service all around.
Such a cute spot! It’s a 50’s vibe, covered in a red, black, and white color scheme. Your receipt is handed to you in a paperback book. Some of the cocktail glasses are a mason jar attached to a stem. The staff is just a bunch of friendly people. The hostess was dressed with style. I arrived right at 5pm so I was able to snag a single seat at the bar even though they were full booked for the evening. I got the lobster roll. It’s the kind that’s mixed with a bit of mayonnaise rather than with warm butter. It came with fries and coleslaw, so it is a full meal.
My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. The service and food were amazing as always, and the cherry on top was the complimentary champagne they offered when they found out we were celebrating my special day. Such a thoughtful touch made the evening even more memorable!
This diamond in the rough is nestled in a small neighborhood just outside downtown Orlando. I enjoyed every moment of this dinner, they are part of Orlando’s Magical Dining which allows you to choose from a selective menu(appetizer, entree and desert) for $40pp. Outstanding atmosphere and menu selections. Bravo Maxine and Kirt, this place is a perfect combination of style and deliciousness! Brunch Fri-Sun is fantastic with a lobster omelette that is unmatched!! FYI the bartender Julie makes the STRONGEST drinks🤤
Loved this place! "Charming" is the best way to describe it -- it's nestled in the middle of the neighborhood, and when you walk in, it feels very personable and authentic -- like the owners themselves could come out at any moment! The food was also great, we came for Bite 30 and I had the "Cool as a Cucumber flatbread" and the Applewood smoked pork tenderloin. A true neighborhood gem!
When we first went into Maxine's music was very loud, which is not our cup of tea. no one eats to a concert at home - more like good food and conversation. We sat outside, which was perfectly quiet, as we were a little early and waited for a hostess or server. At 10am for brunch on Valentines, a hostess greeted us and said they were finishing up a meeting and the music was to make sure everyone was awake and would be much softer at opening. We chose outside just in case. Later went to the restroom and was pleasantly surprised the music was nice and soft - our kind of place! We are Lobster people so ordered the Lobster Omelet. Goodness! Unlike most places - true to their word a knuckle and a claw = plenty of Lobster! Delicious. Our server was wonderful! She told us they also had Lobster Benedict, which was a bit hidden on the menu and we did not notice. All things considered, highly recommend and we will be back! Great place for a Celebratory Brunch!
A small footprint, but the delivery is HUGE! My wife gifted me Sunday Brunch here for my 52nd birthday. The customer service here is exceptional. Every interaction with the staff was so pleasant. The last time we experienced THIS level of customer service was at the Sandals resorts. The plates were beautiful. The portions were generous. The flavors were Michelin Star caliber. We're not exaggerating. Thank you for making my birthday so special. This is a memory we will never forget.
Everything about this restaurant, from the top tier service to the jazzy vibe to the excellent food, is a delight. The hostess, wait staff, and owner all showered us with care and genuine interest in our experience. We were given a tour to decide where we wanted to sit and recommendations for things to do in the area after dinner. We picked a few appetizers, cocktails, and entrees. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. We had a nice high table on the patio surrounded by potted plants and where there was a good view of the sunset. The owner took time to visit our table, make sure that service was attentive and food to our liking, and he thanked us for choosing to spend our evening with them. It was such a lovely gesture, and you could tell everyone there takes great pride in their restaurant. The food was honestly so good that I forgot to take photos before the dish was gone! The wagyu carpaccio was probably the best I’ve had, with perfectly sliced beef, toast, arugula, and red mustard dressing. The skillet lasagna was also incredible! Everything was reasonably priced, especially for the quality and portions. We’ll definitely be back.
Been to Maxine’s a handful of times, which is a shame to me. I love it every single time I go! I’ve been there for dinner and brunch, and every time their food and cocktails hit the spot! The pictures I attached are from my recent visit during Bite30. For the entrees we chose their meatloaf, and fried chicken with sweet potato dumplings. The food was, choice! Chef’s kiss good.

Best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. Their brisket breakfast plate was incredible too!

We really enjoyed our evening at Maxine's. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and out. My wife was treated as a princess even her drink was served with a crown. The food was fabulous. We are going back as soon as we can.
Top-shelf vibes. Eclectic and eccentric. Bite 30 prix fixe menu is well worth it. Maxine and Kirt are *chef's kiss.* A true local gem. It was a bit crowded, noisy but quiet enough for conversation, excellent food, service was slightly slow but every seat was filled on a Thursday so no complaints from me.
Not sure what took us so long to try Maxine’s, but that’s our loss. Our server, Madeline, was great.. friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She was assisted by Dillon, who was fun to talk with and informative. All the food was quite delicious, with the standouts being the crab cake, escargot, burger, and lobster ravioli. The atmosphere is eclectic and just plain fun. We will be back soon.
After a divine evening of celebration with friends, I couldn't help but want to thank Kirt & Maxine for creating such a wonderful place for us to share in! The night was magical, and everything shone with the love and happy that made my birthday extra special! So easy to lose yourself in all the happy, when surrounded with such energy and good vibes! The best part is them not missing the mark to make us feel special. We were so glad to go with the flow and enjoy all the good intention, relaxed atmosphere, and love that goes into every detail♡ Don't hesitate to give this place a chance to add some shine to your spirit, like me, you may glow for days after! Their curated cocktails and dishes are worth the trip, so be sure and check out their fresh creations:)
We celebrated my husband’s birthday yesterday at Maxine’s on Shine, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The owner came over personally to greet us — he was incredibly humble, kind, and made us feel so special. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and everything about the evening felt perfect. It was the ideal place to celebrate such an important occasion, and we left with big smiles and full hearts. We’ll definitely be coming back.

The vintage decor and sultry vibe gives this cozy location its personality. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating allows furbabies, and I highly recommend you always make a reservation. The customer service here is great. The bartender and servers are nice and really take care of you. The fried green tomatoes and crabcake was tasty. The chicken breast for the chicken and waffles were kind of dry, and the waffles were soggy. Although the food tasted good, I was expecting a little more in terms of quality. I think I would return for the drinks, but I'd sit out from the food. I heard there are shows here during some nights as well, but I visited in the morning for brunch.
We stopped here after visiting Disney Springs because we were craving a really good Bloody Mary. After a quick Google search, we decided to make the 28-minute drive — and I’m glad we did. The restaurant is tucked right into a neighborhood, which is unique and charming, though parking is street-only. It was Sunday around 11:30 a.m., and the host told us the wait was about 1.5 hours. Luckily, we snagged two seats at the bar — being from out of town, missing out would have been a huge disappointment. The Bloody Mary did not disappoint — absolutely delicious. The crab cakes were some of the best I’ve had in a long time: light, not greasy, with a nice crunch and plenty of crab meat (maybe a bit of onion mixed in). The smoked salmon and avocado pita bites were excellent. The fried green tomatoes were just okay, and the kale salad wasn’t for me. The chicken and pimento cheese sandwich was unfortunately disappointing. The chicken was overcooked, as was the bacon, though adding extra cheese helped make it more edible.
I got a Chicken & Biscuit Bowl with eggs and bacon and it was SOOOO GOOOOD ! I’ll give it 8.5 and that’s because of presentation. The sausage gravy really pulled it all together. I went and requested a table for 5 with no reservations and waited about 20 min. We sat inside and the ac wasn’t pumping enough I must admit. They did have fans on to help with it being too hot.
Maxine’s on Shine is a delightful spot in Orlando, brimming with charm and character. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is exceptional our server made us feel right at home. I started my meal with the Caviar appetizer, which, while beautifully presented, didn’t quite hit the mark for me in terms of flavor. However, the main course more than made up for it. The Duck was tender and cooked to perfection, with a sauce that was rich and flavorful, though I found the accompanying stew a bit lacking in depth. To finish, I opted for the Key Lime Pie, a personal favorite, but it was unfortunately too tart for my taste, leaving me unable to finish it. Despite these small critiques, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I would certainly return to explore more of the menu. Maxine’s has a lot to offer, and I’m confident there are more gems to be discovered on their menu.
Was not a fan of the gravy on the biscuit it was more like a pot pie filling with celery and carrots. But that is just my personal view. May be good to others . The cheese sprung rolls were great. Chicken and waffle and omelet was good.

Underwhelming, took my sister here after hearing Kirk's spots on 96.9 every Friday so decided to give it a try. Made early reservations to make sure we could find a place to park in the neighborhood. It was pretty dead at this time so thought thought the kitchen wouldn't be over welmed. Started with the fried green tomatoes and crab cakesnwhich were excellent. For the main entre we decided on the pork tenderloin for my sister and the prime rib chefs special for myself. Pork had good liver but was over cooked and a bit dry with the demi glaze helping it. My prime rib was seared with great flavor but not tender at all and outback out did them here. The twice baked potato was ice cold out of the fridge. Flagged down the waitress and she worked on getting it replaced. By the time the replacement came out i had 2 bites left on the prime rib and the 2nd potato wasn't much warmer. Decided not to get dessert and push our luck. Totally forgot the cold potatoes I was going to take home but probably no big loss. Was hoping they would have been a special birthday for my sister but the waitress didn't even ask if it was a special occasion although the host acknowledged it on the reservation note at check in. Underwhelming is all I can say....
