A completely different experience from what you'd find in a traditional bar or restaurant. From the moment you park, you know you're in a special place. The atmosphere is friendly, funny, and above all, welcoming. You sit with people who make you feel like they've known you forever. And what can I say about the food? The ingredients are high-quality, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The starters were a generous selection of cured meats with delicious bread. For the first course, I had mussels in vinaigrette, followed by a pork chop with potatoes. To finish, there was a wide variety of homemade desserts; I chose the cheesecake flan, which was spectacular. The value for money is excellent. €14 well spent. I'll definitely be back!

Montse's Tavern is like eating in a traditional Galician home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there's even an area that's literally the kitchen, where Montse prepares all the food right in front of you. As soon as you sit down, they serve you a platter of homemade cured meats, a thoughtful touch that makes you want to try the whole menu from the start. Then you can choose from several starters and main courses; we tried the mussels in vinaigrette and the sirloin steak with potatoes, both excellent. The desserts are also homemade, and it shows. We were tempted to try the braised beef, but it was sold out. The set menu costs just €14 per person and includes the charcuterie board, starter, main course, dessert, a drink, and coffee. A truly unique and soulful place, one of those that's worth discovering and returning to.

What an authentic place, one of those that no longer exists! The food is delicious, cooked on a slow fire in the wood stove all morning, the atmosphere is really cool (eating in the kitchen is another thing) but on top of that the service is unbeatable, Montse is a crack and treats you like you were part of her family, a real treat. You start with a cold cuts and cheese board to whet your appetite. Then the starters, a delicious salpicón and beans with seafood for 10. To finish with an entrecote made to order and to your liking in front of you, and a traditional lamb that you can't try anywhere else, delicious. As a final touch, cheese flan, nougat tart, grandma's tart... whatever you choose, homemade and delicious. We'll have to go back!

A very special restaurant, one of those that are no longer easy to find. You arrive and wait your turn, just like they used to. They give you some cold cuts while they prepare your order; everything you order is finger-licking good. We tried the mussels and the tripe (both incredibly good), and then a salad with a steak. The salad was super tasty (and we're from a village and eat from the garden). The steak was cooked to order and super tasty. The desserts were delicious, but we couldn't finish them because we were so full. You can tell the food is exquisite. If you have to wait, do it because it's worth it. You won't regret it. (Thanks to the waitress, Maria, who treated us like family; it's a pleasure.) We will return to enjoy whatever you put on the table; it was a pleasure. I hope restaurants like this don't disappear from Spain, because it seems like you have to pay a fortune to eat well, and at Taberna de Montse, it's the exact opposite.

Definitely recommended. We arrived early in the afternoon, around 1:00 PM, and we didn't have to wait even 5 minutes. Very fast service and excellent service, nothing to complain about. While you wait for your food, they bring you cold cuts, bread, and cheese... Everything delicious! You'd almost have eaten with the starter. As for the food, it was more of the same. Very tasty and plentiful, they ask you several times if you'd like more. And the price... Well, what can I say, €14. A gift!

Driven past this jem loads of times always wanted to call in, now we have all I can say is I won't be passing anymore. The food, the welcome, the atmosphere is fantastic, we are no where near prolific in Spanish but we were made to feel so welcome and actually sat in the kitchen around the cooking fantastic.

It’s walking into a family home and getting served massive quantities of delicious food. The lunch rush is busy but worth the wait. We loved her menú del día. My favorite parts were the filete and flan de café.

It's the best restaurant around! Casual and it feels like home, as you actually get to sit and eat inside the kitchen sometimes. The food is excellent and Montse and her team are all very kind and extremely attentive. Don't miss Montse's home-made desserts! They offer a menu with fish or meat as a second dish, but they always try to adapt to personal dietary restrictions. If you are a vegetarian, they normally offer to prepare eggs or a salad for you, although because they are normally very busy, it wouldn't be a bad idea to call and ask beforehand.
