Absolutely gorgeous! Stunning place. I was lucky to be invited to a wedding here and it was wonderful from start to finish. Amazing food, lovely atmosphere, lovely surroundings, great staff. Haven't got a single thing to say bad about this place. A wonderful stay. Definitely visit again.
Check in was a breeze thanks to the young lady on reception, who was friendly and professional. She explained all the food timings and what was available, which made things simple after a long drive. The room was spotless with a beautifully old-fashioned look that matched the charm of the stately building, giving it a real stately home feel. It felt warm, comfortable, and well cared for. The bed had a firm mattress that felt brand new, and I had a solid night’s sleep. The bathroom was also spotless, but the electric shower was a disappointment, with very low pressure and more of a dribble than a proper shower, not ideal after a long day working outdoors. The bath tap was much the same, so no relaxing soak either. Dinner really made up for it though. I had the soup of the day, roasted winter vegetables, which was delicious, followed by venison sausages with buttery mash, onion gravy, and red cabbage in red wine. Everything was cooked beautifully and full of flavour. Dessert was three scoops of ice cream — strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla — all spot on. The young lady serving us deserves real credit. She was genuinely polite, upbeat, and professional from start to finish. She took our orders quickly, checked back at just the right time, and made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. Staff like her make a huge difference and she was a real credit to the restaurant. Overall, it was a lovely stay in a charming building with great food, excellent service, and a very comfortable night’s sleep, even if the shower could do with a bit of attention.
Hi folks, just a quick message to say thank you for the way l was treated during my recent stay. Everybody involved in the running of the hotel should be very proud of themselves. They were all excellent. I had a lovely time, room was great, food was absolutely delicious and I will certainly return. Kind regards Richard.
We chose to have our wedding at Sweeney Hall and believe we could not have chosen better. From Sean, the manager/owner, who genuinely cared about making your day the best it could be, to each and every member of staff who went above and beyond making our special day that bit more special. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and much more than we could eat, all homemade by their excellent chefs. And finally, if you have a dog, and want him/her to be part of your wedding as we did, this is the place to choose, our boy loved it. All our guests commented how beautiful it was, it was a perfect, unforgettable day, thanks to Sean and the team.
Not much to complain about. Room was comfy, food was great and service was pretty good. Only issues were a noisy extractor or something similar running all night below the bedroom and being left for 20 minutes sat at the table at breakfast, before order was taken, despite being the only people present. But I am definitely going to stay again.
We and my beautiful wife got married at this amazing place last Wednesday, the staff who had been on our journey to our big day and supported us both so much throw are journey. Did such an amazing job make our big day so special for me and my wife I could ever recommend the sweeney hall more if I tried. Its a great place for food and the location is stunning. The hotel staff are great friendly and helpful. A massive thankyou to us all from the both of us 🙏 ❤️
Absolutely wonderful!! We had a large family gathering for an afternoon tea in a private room. Absolutely stunning. Staff were helpful and on hand. Great facilities. The room was decorated beautifully. I can not fault them. We will definitely be back for both individual and family celebrations. Thank you so much to everyone involved!!
Fabulous venue for my sisters wedding on New Years Eve. Very attentive staff, worked so hard to ensure the event ran smoothly.
Another fabulous Sunday lunch at Sweeney Hall. Staff all lovely. Meals were amazing, great portions, nice assortment of fresh vegetables to accompany roast dinners. Lovely sweets too. Excellent value for money.
Had a large family meal here for Mother's Day. The food was excellent and the service was great. Such a beautiful place to take time to eat as a family. Will be going back soon for a family reunion. Update: Went back in May for a large family reunion. Were provided with a beautiful private room, and the food and service were still outstanding. 😊
we had food and our waitress was lovely. chatty and the one food item that was not to our taste was taken off the bill a very nice night.
Had a fab time at the day time disco 😃 before I start I can confirm I’m not related! But this place is independent and amazing, staff work so hard and the setting is stunning. Yes you have to queue to be served at the bar - but come on it’s fine, staff are doing their best and in the grand scheme of things???! Really?! Just chat to the people around you xxx
We just wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to you and the entire team at The Sweeney for everything you did to make our wedding day, Fri 14th February 2025 so perfect. From the moment we arrived, your team went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy our special day. The food was absolutely wonderful, and so many of our guests commented on how delicious everything was. The care and attention to detail that went into every aspect of the day did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for the warmth and professionalism of your staff. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate our wedding, and we will always cherish the memories made there. Thank you again for all of your hard work, support, and kindness—it truly meant the world to us. With warmest regards, Amanda & Rob Tulloch
Best Roast dinner I’ve eaten ….. the service was a 10, the abimance was a 10…. Local to Oswestry and ran by a family …..absolutely delicious
Amazing gem of a place beautiful room gorgeous food and brilliant staff what more could you wish for Well worth a visit
Fantastic place to stay. I was away with work and had a beautiful, comfortable room with good coffee and everything else I needed. Wifi was strong and I had 2 work meetings on Teams with no streaming issues. Delicious food in the restaurant and good choice for breakfast. All staff were extremely helpful
Welcoming and friendly, nothing too much trouble! Our room was beautifully furnished, very clean, with great attention to detail, even a Gideon’s Bible in the bedside table. Quality toiletries and tea/coffee-making facilities, excellent view from the window across the park, and undisturbed sleep in a very comfortable bed. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant the evening we arrived, which was very reasonably priced. Breakfast next morning consisted of cereals and/or pastries from the breakfast table, followed by a very tasty cooked breakfast of choice from the breakfast menu. All in all a very pleasant experience, and a great place to stay.
Myself and my partner stayed over in the king suite . What a beautiful room ! Such a warm and relaxing feel to it , very well presented and extremely clean . Staff were also welcoming and helpful . Would love to stay over again & next time try the restaurant x
We took relatives from overseas for a farewell dinner. The service was impeccable and the food delicious.
Stayed here yesterday working away with work. What a lovely experience all round, room was extremely reasonably priced and had lovely views out on to the gardens. Staff were all friendly, really can’t fault it. Hopefully be returning :)
Went to The Sweeny last night, been numerous times never failed to disappoint. Last night just excelled expectations i can honestly say at 74 years old it was the best meal i have ever had. I had pie and mash and i recommend you have the same if you visit. Well done Sweeny Hall, beautiful location, and the restaurant was dressed for christmas beautifully. Sue
Booked in for evening meal on a Saturday. I had steak, fantastic - my wife had Lemon Sole which delighted her. Great service, friendly staff and good prices. A step above pub grub in every way. Keep it up team.
Couldn't be better thank you, the building is great, rally impressive as you walk through the front doors and massive (walk around the outside and you'll get a truer picture). But all that aside it was the reception that we got when we first arrived and the truly lovely interaction with Diago (or Will as we found out his real name 😆) honestly he made the stay both at reception and at dinner. He's a real plus to the place and puts a great vibe on the evening. Pictures of the place inside and we flew over it later on in our plane and thoight you may like those shots as well. (I was hanging out of the window at 700ft mind so they provably aren't perfect, 😆 Dinner was 68 pounds for a truly lovely fish pie and steak pie, we had prosecco beer and a pudding at that price as well, so very reasonable indeed. Will be back sooner rather than later, thank you for the stay.
Returned from 4 night stay to celebrate my parents' anniversary. Top class food, service and accommodation. Will be returning.
Google has me at 4 stars, but I've actually ticked 5 stars across the board. Had a short break and stayed 3 nights. The room was really well done and curated well for the style of the Hotel. The whole hotel has a feeling of quiet comfort and luxury and is light and airy where you need it to be. The parkland is stunning in May and at the back of the building it's very quiet and peaceful. Our room and landings were all lovely and clean and the restaurant was inviting, lovely soft colours that made you want to linger and enjoy the room. The team and our host were all very welcoming and the food was lovely. We enjoyed it so much we are going back again later this summer.
Had to book my husband in that travel s there for business he is so fussy and his regular hotel couldn’t accommodate the week yet he is thrilled with the place staff amazing and as per usual he was late for dinner ( working 🙄) they were so kind to do late meal which he said was fabulous bearing in mind I m chef he’s fussy !!! Definitely new place for him to stay 10 out of ten so recommend this place 😍
Due to the poor health of a family member, we had to arrange a wedding at very short notice. The Sweeney went above and beyond to make the day possible. They were very accommodating, great communication, fantastic food and it was a brilliant day at a beautiful location. We had the wedding on the decking area and it was stunning. I have also been to The Sweeney on other occasions and have always had a 5/5 experience. I cannot speak highly enough about The Sweeney.
Just had food as part of a wedding anniversary party. The food was very good. Especially considering 2 large parties were visiting at the same time. I had vegetarian Sweet Potato Wellington with a curried sauce which was very good. Then an amazing Chocolate Orange Cheesecake
I came away for some "me time" for the first time and what a stunning location to be in. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Room was just beautiful with amazing views out over the countryside. Had an evening meal in the restaurant. Oh my goodness!! Food was divine. Would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be returning in the future!!
Beautiful place ,lots of character, amazing grounds Lovely room, comfortable bed Great food and service
My daughters baby shower was held at The Sweeney last Saturday, it was absolutely perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was amazing!!! The sandwiches were so fresh and plenty of delicious fillings. There was so much food everyone left with doggy bags!!! Thankyou the everyone at The Sweeney for making the afternoon perfect.
We were a party of four, celebrating a friend's 80th birthday. We enjoyed afternoon tea at the Sweeney in one of the outdoor huts, as it was a warm day. The service was excellent, all the staff with whom we had contact were professional, friendly and helpful, (i.e. we wanted a group photo, and a senior staff member/manager took it, with delight, adding to the experience). The food was lovely, and generous amounts. I can't recommend the whole experience more. We have always found the Sweeney to be one of the best places for afternoon tea in the country. Thank you, for a great experience.
We stayed at The Sweeney between April 21 and April 28 with a group of eighteen other people. The Hotel is beautiful and peaceful. Very attentive and helpful staff, who look after their guests and treat them like family. The food is all fresh and delicious, with varying menus that offer a wide range of choices. We highly recommend this location for your next stay.
What a delightful place to come for a Sunday roast dinner. Good ales on Lovely garden and surroundings. Very attentative polite staff nothing was to much for them... Food was amazing plenty of meat and veg. And proper roast potatoes and lots of delicious gravy.....and price was on point.. well done sweeney hall will be back..no complaints from me and the Mrs..
It’s a long story that we will never forget. In a nutshell, it was half term and we were travelling from the Gower Peninsula to the lakes to stay with friends. Our Volkswagen van broke down minutes away from the hotel, and we jokingly said as we drove up the drive, what a place to break down if we have to end up staying the night. Two nights later our van is in Oswestry fixed, and we areLeaving the hotel after a fabulous few days in the East Wing eating delicious food and really enjoying the grounds. the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, accommodating our extended family, dog Willow and lots of bags. We cannot recommend you more highly and will definitely be back! Best wishes Nigel and Susannah, Jasper and Fin (and Willow)
on arrival the the property is a magnificent building very well kept for its era 1805 one of my particular favourites style of properly and a rather beautiful nice country setting, the rooms are larger than average with high ceilings and large windows overlooking stunning countryside, and nicely decorated in keeping with the property. the bed was very comfortable.... bathroom was larger again than I expected - the grounds are generous and we ate out side on a lovely terrace area - the menu was thoroughly delightful, the breakfast was served in a very unusual ornate room very beautiful and the food it self very very high quality and lots of choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and was a last minute visit, rather disappointed I not found it before! Staff also very pleasant faultless!
Absolutely glorious place in the heart of Wales, easy access down a long driveway and plenty of parking. The interior is immaculate and tastefully decorated with period furniture and despite looking antique and quaint it's really relaxing to rest on the comfortable beds and our room had a ensuite modern bathroom. High quality bedding and decor, fabric and glorious views, and eventhough it's only 3 star it deserves a 5 star rating. The restaurant and bar were extremely popular such high quality that its used by guests and the locals for pleasure and entertainment. So close to the main road despite the Tom Tom taking us to the wrong road and off the main track.
Sweeney Hall served our local history group a wonderful afternoon tea which left us all feeling very full - and sent us away with the uneaten cakes (which soon got eaten). This is a lovely historic house in the beautiful landscape around Oswestry. A herd of cows sauntered up to the fence to check us over as we drove up the drive, but that was nothing to the wonderful welcome we received from all the staff. We all said we'd be coming again!
Lovely place. Staff were excellent. Food very good and grounds were lovely to stroll around. The hall has been very tastefully decorated and furnished. Beds were comfy and 'grand'. Only bug bear was that the plumbing struggled, so the shower experience wasn't much fun and some areas in the bathroom & toilet need smartening up.
Stayed here for a night as part of a duel purpose trip from down south, me to buy and pick up a new car, dad to get his log splitter fixed. We booked the 2 bed cottage, and it was beautiful. Great value for money at £150 a night. Exposed beams, 4 pints of milk in the fridge for teas and coffees. Our own private garden area. Bit of a disappointment that there were 5 dog messes in the garden but on speaking to the receptionist it was solved in an hour or two. The front of house staff (though minimal - I think they could have done with 1 extra person as they seemed to have only 1 person working all front of house roles at any time) were very friendly - both the evening girl, and morning man. The food was straight up naff. We had been advised by the Oswestry local we met at the log splitter company of this but decided to give it a go anyway for the ease of location. I ordered the runny game scotch egg for starters - it was not runny at all and the meat was overcooked. They did offer to replace when I questioned with the waiter but subsequently returned to say that the chef wasn’t confident of doing it right on a second attempt and asked me to switch to something else which I did taking pate on bread. At least honest of the poor chef who I guess was in over his head. Breakfast was included, and the bacon was like old leather, the sausages were the cheapest you could buy, and my fried egg was cooked in a dirty pan and overdone. The mushrooms had been massacred too. Lovely butter was though - shergar butter - ooh that’s nice. The little spread for continental looked alright too - if you were going for yoghurt with home made muesli and fruit / nuts I reckon that would have been tasty. Not for men though :-) Overall I would definitely stay again but go elsewhere for food, cook it yourself if you have the cottage, or order a takeaway.
Had a 1 night stay whilst visiting family in the area. Great breakfast. Rooms OK altho windows need some work as wind n rain coming thru. Staff attentive.
We didn't stay but went for Sunday lunch. I had the vegan/veggie roast which was a mushroom/sweet potoe pie in beautifully crumbly shortcrust pastry, carrots/parsnip/ red cabbage with additional greens and cauliflower cheese , was absolutely STUNNING. 10/10. Hubby had the Topside beef roast with same veg but he had a Yorkshire pudding (enormous), he said the beef was very taste but tough to cut and chewy, he ate 70% of it 7/10. We would go back.
Beautiful setting and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was included and was very good. Looking forward to trying the afternoon tea next time. My only disappointment was the quality of my sirloin steak at dinner.
We were a group of eighteen, stayed for a week in April. The food was fantastic, the rooms beautiful, and the staff amazing -super helpful and friendly. The grounds are lovely and we loved the cows and sheep. We had a wonderful time.
Had afternoon tea at the Sweeney, it is a great location, staff were friendly. Afternoon tea was OK, nothing outstanding, I expected some unique cakes, making the experience stand out, but it was a bit predictable. We were sat in a walkway which was disappointing, there were far better positions and the sun was shining and we were inside with no windows. The hotel decor is lovely and this could have been a 5 star experience with a bit more attention to detail. Staff seemed stretched, maybe due to a wedding taking place.
Such a warm welcome at Sweeney where every staff member made reference to our arrival. We were asked if we wanted some time to relax in one of the comfortable lounges before dining . The drinks selection were quality with a comment from our party that the guiness was the best . My red wine was velvet. Do note the prosecco is expensive. The dining area was lit up with fairy lights running along the architrave which was warm and inviting. We were given ample time to choose from a good selection of meals carering for all tastes. The food was presented beautifully on the plates with care to detail and the meals, in the main, were good .The chicken dish was a little dry and the fries did look as though they weren't 'home made' but I may well be wrongly informing you on this. We all had the same chocolate cheesecake dessert which was first class and not a small portion . Thank you. The staff noted that our bottled water( which was ice cold) was empty and promptly placed another on our table without us asking , which showed how attentive Sweeney is to their customers. In conclusion., loved our evening and most certainly, will be dining with Sweeny Hall again. Thank you
Lovely decor and a nice atmosphere. Food nice and service good. We didn't go outside, but there's a fabulous terrace that will be stunning in the summer, I'm sure.
At a Christmas Luncheon on 3 Dec 25 the most excellent ambiance was marred by the standard of service. I was offered zero Heineken in lieu of zero Guiness - not quite the same, which the barman should have known. If my wife had 'plonked' the dinner plate down in front of me as was done today I would have thought I had upset her. The waitress then reached across me to serve the guest on my right. When the coffee was served the filled cup was put on the saucer and left resting on the spoon. When I pointed this out, she did apologise, but then moved the cup by gripping the sides - not the best hygienic practice. However, I must complement you on the most excellent Christmas pudding and also the mince pie. A great shame, as last year's Christmas experience was exceptional. Perhaps further training is called for?
Probably won’t come back which is a shame. Booked for lunch for six for Father’s Day. Arrived early and were greeted nicely and had a drink in the garden whilst we waited for others in the party to arrive. After drinks a scruffy waiter arrived, told us we couldn’t have our booked table inside as they were busy and shuffling people around. We asked him to check again as we’d booked a while in advance and inside is much more comfortable than outside - which mattered as we had elderly people in our party. He came back and said no. He didn’t really seem to care or know what to do if a guest asked questions, so I asked for the manager who then directed us to our booked table with without question. The restaurant was only half full throughout the service with lots of empty tables, so not sure what the waiter was on about at all. Service was friendly but very slow with long waits between courses or for drinks. Goodness knows how they cope when they are busy. There seemed to be plenty of staff too. Food was keenly priced (£14-17 is good for mains these days). When it came it was fine but nothing to really write home about. Portion sizes were probably on the small size even at that price point. The fries that came with the burger (good meat) were really just a pot of deep-fried shards and the new potatoes with the roasts had been boiled for a long time and tasted only of water. Toilets are a bit tired, need cleaning during the service, and the Dyson air blade is fitted so high on the wall it just blows dirty germy water straight in your face. Good fresh well kept toilets are such a key part of a good impression. Overall we left fairly happy, but in a competitive marketplace I doubt we will return. We’ve had far better for a similar price elsewhere in the area.
The rooms are a little frayed and the bathroom hospital-like, but the views and decor are so pretty. My one complaint is they offered breakfast (did not mention a cost) and I assumed it would be your typical breakfast add on cost and was shocked to see £37.5 pounds added for eggs and tea for two people! Hence the 2 stars. Very disappointed.
The Sweeney hotel is impressive with a number of extensions and plenty of outdoor space to explore. You enter the hotel via the huge carpark at the front and into the reception. We spent a Friday night here with an evening meal and drinks out in the rear porch. We had room number EIGHT which at that time we thought was excellent but it did have a few little problems. The Evening meal, dessert and the service was all good with a nice cosey time in the rear porch with drinks after.Snuggle rugs are also provided if it gets a bit chilly. The colourful lighting here is excellent and makes for a nice evening and great for pictures too.The Sweeney tends to throw all there staff at a wedding if there is one which allows for just one person to deal with breakfast.(not enough)There was always something needed for the residents like yoghurt, spoons, bowls, orange juice, butter etc etc which was a shame because the actual breakfast and the restaurant was excellent. The wedding preparations looked excellent too and I hoped they had enough staff to cope with all the guests. The big rooms at the Sweeey are all excellent with great views over the countryside so it's all here. Our bedroom overlooked the inner courtyard where the cats queue up outside the kitchen door for there breakfast, cute. (we luv cats). We had a mini staircase to our bathroom where the water supply was temperamental and the fan was like a pneumatic drill going off continuously when the light was switched on.The electric sockets were a bit loose and the kettle and coffee etc were awkward to get to because of the bedside lamp.We did mention this to management and they are sending in maintenance.Im sure if it hadn't been a wedding weekend it would of been so different for us.We do love these rambling old hotels.
Went for Sunday dinner on March 30th.Booked in advance on their own web site. Thought it strange as no mention of Mothers day, so booked for a Sunday dinner. On arrival, looked at the menu to discover that only a three course set menu was available( for £35pp). Asked if we could just have a main, or may have to cancel. Was told no, so ended up having 3 courses in stead of one. Feel so sick now. Thanks Sweeney. Not like I could have got in anywhere else, last minute, on Mothers day. Food was ok. Can you please put updated info on your own web site. If I could have found a last minute alternative on the day. I would have walked, but I had other people in my party. Spolit my day.
This is a review of the restaurant where we went for Sunday lunch which was quite a disappointing meal . Maybe I was expecting too much but the reviews seemed good - perhaps it was because we had a post 1.30 booking or there was a big private party being catered for that had overwhelmed the chefs. Despite saying when I booked, this was an anniversary celebration our table was in what appeared to be a corridor off the restaurant. Not a good start. I can compliment the serving staff who tried hard but they are badly let down by the kitchen. I wish I’d said something about the terrible cauliflower cheese; it had a layer of grilled cheese on top but completely overcooked and dry. Perhaps we got the last portion. The rest of the meal was more edible and as described but felt like a mass production product. For example the beef was a rectangular slab of very well cooked meat. Certainly not carved by hand! We decided to skip the desert when we noticed a nearby table also in the corridor with us had abandoned their serving after a few spoons. To summarise not the special meal I had hoped to celebrate our anniversary!
Three of us had lunch on Tues 18th November 2025 and I, for one, did not enjoy it. I think the chef may have forgotten the capers in the crab balls and I suspect s/he may have forgotten that my poussin was in the oven. It arrived very overcooked and hence hard & dry. Although it was billed as a Madras dish, there was no sauce, just a couple of blobs of thick yogurt and date chutney so making the whole thing even drier. The poussin was placed on top a rice salad in a close-fitting bowl. This meant it was very difficult eat (physically hard to cut into the chicken) without pushing the rice onto the table!. The Sweeney was a convenient place for lunch with our friend who lives in Oswestry but I think I'll argue for a different restaurant next time we meet.
We went for an Afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. The location is lovely and the food was excellent. However, the service we received was poor. The coffee was Luke warm at best and it was was not possible to get The attention of the serving staff to get it heated. In the whole time we were there no one checked in on our table or offered us any more drinks, so left dry as a bone. When booking you are asked to pay a £10 deposit but this was not automatically deducted from the bill, so beware of over charging ( felt like a training issue and not intentional) . In summary, the venue is lovely and our food was excellent but the overall experience was not one I would repeat. It was busy when we arrived, but they seem to have plenty of staff, we just felt absolutely invisible and for us it was not enjoyable
I often stop here on my journeys north and have stayed and eaten there. All very, very nice. I had a cafetiere of coffee this time. Which was accompanied by a small tea cup and saucer! I only managed to one and a third of a cup of very strong coffee, including milk, before it it ran out, which I was disappointed with . Hopefully, it was a one-off. I do hope so
Really dislikes the pea risotto I ordered. I was part of a large (celebration) group so didn't want to put a downer on the evening. I left all of my meal and nobody asked how our food was or why it hadn't been touched. Very disappointing food and service. ** ADDED. Unsure of how to reply to a reply sorry. Similar feed back from others with the same dish as myself but do appreciate we all do have different tastes and others also commented on not being asked how their dishes were unfortunately. I'm assuming it was because of the large group as I have eaten at sweeney before and enjoyed my meal. Appreciate the reply
Oh dear no! We got back from three weeks in France very recently, we came here for Sunday lunch on our wedding anniversary. It was not good. Service was poor, our wine order got forgotten and when they were reminded, the wine we wanted wasn’t available anyway. The food was awful. The roast beef was over cooked and like leather, the roast potatoes were dreadful, tough and leathery as though they had been reheated. The vegetables were mediocre, with over cooked carrots, the cauliflower cheese was awful, the cauliflower badly undercooked and the cheese sauce thin and tasteless. I don’t know what they did to the roast parsnips they were just awful. The desserts were seriously average with a tasteless chocolate cheese cake that was bone dry and stale tasting. The Rioja was excellent. The windows in the bar were wide open all the time for the musical event outside and we sat in a draught the whole time. Not to be repeated I’m afraid.
Went here for a Christmas Party and mum ordered the Salmon, she felt abit off after eating this, 1 hour later was throwing her guts up. Went back to the Sweeney to tell them and they weren’t having any of it, telling me it takes “hours for symptoms to kick in, it can’t have been our food”, that’s not how food poisoning works but lets be honest, they weren’t going to admit it was their fault. Pros - everyone else enjoyed the meal and it’s a lovely setting
