Houlihan's - Overland Park

Happy to spend a Christmas Eve at a hand's for dinner. We used to frequent the location on the plaza but have really since they closed years ago. I'm pleased to say that the menu still has some favorites and some updates. It's been a more difficult these days to find a restaurant that has prices that are acceptable and the food is hands down stellar. Our waitress, Jodie, was efficient, attentive, and pleasant. I had the Biltmore Chicken Sandwich(a long time favorite). My hubby had the fish and chips. The spinach artichoke dip is still a standout as an appetizer. And my husband enjoyed his glee butter cake for dessert. The service is great. The food is spot on, and they dare to serve your food HOT! We've had several recent encounters where the food was lukewarm or cold. We will definitely be back.

Molly and one other waitress (wish I knew her name) are amazing! My Mom and I go there every other week, I love ordering the Cherry Limeade And I was indeed very careful this week! Will bring her back when she doesn't want Tikka Masala (Touch of Asia) but now she can choose and I will always appreciate Houlihan's for that! If you get Molly, tip her an extra 20 bucks and order the Cherry Limeade, it's delicious!

My daughter and I stopped over after shopping for an early dinner. We had the crab and shrimp dip as an appetizer and we shared the stuffed chicken breast. Everything was amazing. We loved the dip and the little toasts that came with it. I had had the chicken previously but it was the first time for my daughter and she loved it! The green beans and the mashed potatoes were great too. Our waiter BJ was great and very attentive, and Jim the manager was very helpful. we highly recommend this location!

The burger was phenomenal. My family came in and had a great time. Everything was well and smooth. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. And didn’t take too long for the food to come out. The manager Jim did a great job of checking in on us and making sure everything was smooth. And our waiter was also on top of things. Excellent experience.

Had a great first time here for valentines. Food was great along with the service. Pricing was very reasonable, and watched three men order a burger and rave about it being the best they've had! The atmosphere was nice and staff kept up on things even with the holiday rush. Manager John is very professional and made sure to introduce himself as he helped out his team. Will definitely be coming back!

I just moved to the area recently and Houlihans has quickly become my go to spot. Molly L was my server last time I went in, and she did great! She knew the menu and made an appetizer suggestion that I think made the rest of my meal that much better. Every dish I've tried has amazing flavor and has always been cooked just right.

We ordered the crab and shrimp dip as an appetizer. AMAZING!! I could have made a meal out of this it was truly delicious. Main course, she ordered the shrimp scampi and I had seared scallops with asparagus risotto. The food was spectacular and tasted great. The scallops cooked to perfection. I could have done without all the green toppings on the scallops and risotto and I just pushed them aside. I was not disappointed in the flavor or portion sizes. Seating was a nightmare. Over half the restaurant had no one at tables or booths, but as a walk in you could only be seated in the bar area or outside. All the other dining tables were "reserved." My high top table stool was broken and there are no backs or chairs, just stools. We went for a restaurant experience, not a bar experience. If you're a raging alcoholic who wants to eat dinner in a bar at 5:30 then this is your oasis! I'm spending $75 on dinner for 2, not ordering wine or spirits, then I don't want to be seated in a bar. If this is my only option to be seated next time then I will definitely go somewhere else. There are plenty of other options in there area.

We used to frequent the Northland Houlihans and we loved it. Unfortunately it closed and we don't get down to where the other remaining locations are often. We happened to be in Overland Park and stopped in for lunch. I had my old favorite the Ahi Tuna salad and my husband had the sliders. Both were good. The service was efficient, but not terribly friendly. Unfortunately, the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake was more like cornbread cake. It was completely overdone, hard, and dry. If it weren't for the ice cream, it would have passed for a hockey puck. As a long-time fan of of Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, I never pass up the opportunity to try it. But this is one of those times I would have been better off having passed up the opportunity. I have attached an up close photo showing that it's crumbly, dry and literally looks more like a cornbread. The flavor was excellent, it just was overcooked. ....by about three extra days. Disappointing.

This was by far one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve had. The service was unbelievably slow—it took nearly 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and even longer for the food. When we finally got our meals, they were barely warm and poorly prepared. My dish was overcooked and dry, while my companion’s was completely bland. It’s clear that the quality at this location has gone downhill. The service was inattentive, and getting anything—whether it was a refill or simply our server’s attention—was a struggle. It used to be decent, but after this visit, we won’t be returning. Definitely not worth the time or money.

Food was extremely overcooked. Ordered salmon with asparagus, chicken eggrolls and chicken piccata. The asparagus was burnt to a crisp the salmon was on the verge of being considered jerky. The chicken piccata was a tiny portion of chicken breast overcooked as well. The noodles were mush. The egg rolls also overcooked were unseasoned the avocado was brown. The server was extremely inattentive. My beer glass sat empty almost all through dinner. He never checked in after he served us appetizers or our diner or we would’ve sent it back. First and last time we will be coming here. Save yourself the money and you can get better food at Applebees lol.
