Ok, I cannot stress this enough: this place deserves a Michelin star on cooking alone. Literally everything that I have order has been delicious. Even dishes that normally wouldn't pass at other Indian restaurants are really good here. It blows my mind that I can get value like this, without it being expensive. Fantastic job overall, and keep doing it right. Oh, and they are open late. I suggest trying the chicken tikka salad.
Punjabi Kabab and Gyro is a gem with fantastic food at great prices. Their chicken over rice is unparalleled, delivering a flavorful and satisfying experience. The chicken tikka masala is also a standout dish, showcasing the authenticity of Punjabi flavors. If you're looking for delicious and affordable options, this spot is a definite winner.
I could not understand the menu so I had to Google everything but I ended up getting number 40, which was yellow rice and curry (it was spicy) and ordered some Naan too.. The food was DELICIOUS and I would definitely return!! They have vegetarian options and some that can be considered vegan!
The Best halal food. Always service with a smile and very friendly. Excellent food. All taste so good. My family spot for some weekends take out. Highly recommended
Great fresh food. Very tasty!!. Been there two weeks straight. Cool guys behind the counter. I order take out and everything has always been right on.
One of the best gyro experience. Think about having it from a restaurant instead of a cart. And a great option of different salads to choose from. The owner is there at the restaurant most of the time who is an amazing host. Must have Gyro in queens which beats Halal Guys.
Best Punjabi food in New York. Great customer service and they always remember me and know that I love the Goat Biryani with extra sauce everytime. They always are consistently great with the food and everything they make has amazing flavor and spices. Must try for yourself ASAP please. Delicious mango lassi as well.
They beat any Indian restaurant price. I don’t believe how they make a living. $15 bucks for tandoori salmon ? Jesus it’s $ 21 anywhere else minimum. THE BEST!!
The food is good ... only negative thing I would say .. they are using the same flavor Gravy in all the dishes like chicken .. paneer .. vegetable. They can change the gravy flavor to mix it into different dishes. Example : if I order chicken curry and mator paneer I would find , same style gravy is used into these two different dishes. Food quality is good , little spicy though but price is reasonable.
The best halal in queens. Always fresh
This place is the best food place in my neighborhood. I’m not even Punjabi but the food here is so fresh and nice. Try them out you won’t regret it I guarantee. I wish I could give them 10 stars!
Had a lamb gyro so good. Went back and ordered chicken and rice to take home. . Asked for some bread on the side. .Night Manager went out his way to fix me up with fresh hot bread..
THEIR CHICKEN KABOBS HAVE GOT TO BE THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! SO DELICIOUS WITH THE WHITE SAUCE! AND PERFECTLY EVEN IN SPICE AND TASTE. VERY FRIENDLY & FAST SERVICE. LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING OTHER DISHES 🙂
First time order, very pleased. Everything was delicious. Tandoori salmon, rice, naan , and vegetable samosas. Mango lasso delicious not too sweet. Will order again
I love their chicken over rice - absolutely delicious. I get it every time I visit New York. Their desserts are good too (gulab jaman and ras malai).
I love this place and it's combo over rice. Great fresh salad served with it along with great prices. #1 halal spot for me
Love their kebab rolls and chicken over riceee 🤤 their falafel over rice, lamb over rice, combos are delicious 🫶🏼 Love their sauces and services too Thanks to my friend for recommending me this place
Beats any Halal food truck. This is the best Chicken/Lamb over rice. Comes fully loaded with salad. Meat is not mushy like other places. Must try.
This place is the best. The food is delicious and it's always prepared quickly and it is very affordable. I probably get food from here at least once a week
Got food eveday and a good chat with workers and owner 🫡 and the food was delicious 🤤 and the workers also very friendly 📍🫶
This is the best halal restaurant.... They have the best mix over salad... With naan and the mango puree juice... Its outta this world..... BUT THE BEST PART IS... THEY ACTUALLY WASH THERE SALAD AND YOU SEE IT... ITS FRESH.... SOME HALAL CARTS JUST DONT WASH THEIR SALAD, IM SORRY, MOST HALAL CARTS DONT WASH THE SALAD WHEN THEY SERVE YOU SALAD ITS LIKE YELLOW OR TURNIN ANOTHER COLOR... THIS PEOPLE GIVE YOU A SALAD WITH WATERCRESS.. GARBANZOZ.. PEPPERS... ONIONS... PURPLE CABBAGE GREEN CABBAGE BELL PEPPERS CARROTS.... HANDS DOWN THE BEST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was delivered hot and fresh. Tasty biryani and even more delicious yellow tadka daal. Chicken Kadhai was different however it complimented the naan and daal well. Satisfying portions. 8/10
Continues to be one of my fave spots in NYC! It's next to my apt. and I eat here very regularly. Indian food and staff are Amazing!
Food is great. They don't get almost 5 stars for nothing. Business is booming at this spot. I usually order off of seamless but decided to go pick it up this time. I come from the operational field and I could appreciate how this place runs. It is truly a machine watching such a small place run food out the door. Very respectful personal and the taste is exceptional. Thanks for the great food and service. Respect 🙏
I recently got an order from Panjabi Kabab and Gyro, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I am glad that nothing changed from my first order during the pandemic. I am glad that the place has a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Each dish we ordered was bursting with flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. The spices were well-balanced, allowing the true essence of Indian cuisine to shine through. I particularly recommend trying their chicken curry, and paneer makhani. Considering the quality of the food, service, and overall dining experience, I found the prices at the restaurant to be reasonable and well worth it. The portion sizes were generous and left our employees feeling satisfied. I highly recommend this place to all Indian food enthusiasts and anyone looking to explore the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. It is truly a gem in the culinary scene, and I cannot wait to visit again soon.
Food really good. It’s take-out only. Very busy. I suggest order ahead. Parking is rough. Warning. Also, if you are not into spicy food let them know because it’s fire. I don’t mind but my wife was not able to eat it.
My go to for mixed chicken and lamb over rice. I probably order from here 2x a month and im not ashamed to admit it. The food is consistently delicious every single time. I appreciate that the prices are reasonable as well.
One of my favorite halal mix over rice places in Queens. The price is great and the food tastes perfect. Their Menu is fantastic and has lots of great tasting foods. I come here every week.
I love coming here it’s one of the best places to get authentic Indian food. The samosa are delicious and the chicken Bryani is absolutely delicious. Also if you just want hala food they do that better than any of the cart places. This place is absolutely special and they’re so consistent. I highly recommend coming here you won’t be disappointed.
I'm a teacher at a nearby school. Just finished one of my most delicious lunches of the school year. The lamb with pita (gyro) was excellent and good size. The samosa chat was fantastic and also huge. Many people tried all agreed it was delicious. Got a veggie Samosa as well, was great. And, a garlic naan, equally good. Will definitely be ordering again.
Great place for ordering food via Grubhub but parking is very difficult if you are planning on picking up your order. I called the restaurant to see if they will deliver my order to my car which was parked across the street but they refused to grant my request. So if you decide to pick up your order, be ready to search for suitable parking or take someone along who can go inside and collect it for you.
The food is exceptionally well. 5 stars are not enough stars. Very affordable pricing. The staff is very nice and always smiling, they do their best to make customers happy. Be careful, the food is addictive, I am tempted to go everyday.
Great little overlooked gem in Queens.
I absolutely love their food. They have amazing Indian and halal food. My favorites are the chicken tikka masala, kebabs, and chicken/falafel over rice. They always give great quantity of the food and have excellent customer service. The workers are polite and give you your order in a timely manner. Highly recommend!
Amazing food! Delverying is best! Now I am no longer to force my self to eat halal meat because it is not allowed in Sikh religion but it used to be so good I used to end up buying from street carts but not anymore. I am glad our Punjabi got this♥️. YOU guys must must must must try their food. Especially the Kabab rolls. YUM YUM 😋😋😋😋
Delicious! I was passing by this restaurant and thought why not? I am so pleased, their food is just awesome. The place is just a small shop, no tables and Indian music playing in the background. Can't wait to order again.
This place is very low-key and out of the way for a lot of people but worth it. Order the chicken curry. You'll be amazed by the taste. I guess they pride themselves over taste. Best chicken curry I ever had. Good luck guys!
I have been ordering food from here for years now and every time the food is fresh tasty and delicious. The service is always delightful. I moved to Brooklyn and I still come back here for great indian halal food. Best place ever, i tried other places and nothing compares to Punjabi Kabab and Gyro.
Best tandoori I’ve had in my life. Sabzis are on the oily side but tasty nonetheless. Best kebab I’ve ever had too. Tikkas are sooooo juicy and soft it was amazing.
One of my fave local spots in NYC! I live next door and think I might have been their very 1st customer. The halal great, the Indian AMAZING! The owner and staff have always taken care of me and made me feel welcome and in good hands. They always get the order right.
UPDATE 5/2025: STILL, the best spot in the majority of Queens area! All the others can't compare in regards to price, food, dish options, and portions. I've been going here since 2016 and don't see myself switching up. Thank you!
Amazing place, been ordering here for so many years. I know the workers work very hard since it’s always busy so don’t always expect a friendly tone but they’re still amazing regardless. Every time we ask them for extra sauce and anything extra, the people in the front always bless us. Thanks to the delivery driver and the front people making food and cashing. We always order mix over rice, biryani, samosa chaat, chicken korma, butter chicken, everything is affordable and super delicious. Definitely come here !!
The food was very good! Thank you for honoring our request we had for low salt and little oil on one of our dishes. It was nice of you to grant our special request. I had a good experience, thanks again...
Got a mix gyro to go, it was huge (no diddy) packed with meat and it slappeddd
You absolutely cannot go wrong with this place. Don't expect much from the inside. But don't judge a book by its cover. This location emulates the heart and essence of Punjabi cooking. All of the workers are respectful and patient. The food is phenomenal and I would argue: the best in the Richmond Hill/South Richmond Hill area when it comes to Punjabi food. The food is always cooked fresh, it's flavorful, filling and wholesome. You will not regret anything you order from their menu. Definitely give their Kababs a try as well as their Butter Chicken, it's always on point. The workers are hardworking as they get orders from multiple delivery services all throughout the day with practically no breaks in addition to staying open past 12AM. This, however, never affects their quality of food or the speed at which it is delivered/ready for pick up. Reliable, Consistent, and most of all, Delicious. Give them a try!
The chicken over rice, chicken Tikka masala, and chicken Tikka is all awesome, this place is great! If you could, please consider adding an option on uber eats and doordash to add extra meat to the chicken over rice, I would gladly pay extra. Edit: Came back to say 3-4 years later and this is still my favorite restaurant! Thank you guys!
I’ve tried a lot of Indian restaurants but this is the best so far. The food is bursting with flavor and they give you a good amount. My favorite dishes so far are the chicken biryani, chicken tikka and garlic naan. The mango lassi is refreshing, cool and tasty. Even my 11 month old baby likes it. I can’t wait to try the other foods. The staff is kind as well.
Punjabi Kabab and Gyro Food quality is very excellent, taste is amazing.excellent service by Punjabi Kabab and Gyro. i recomended Punjabi Kabab and Gyro 100%
The best thing about restaurant they always serve fresh food
Great late night spot, gentleman here are religious and respectful, they cook as you ask and the best plus is if you live in the area, fast delivery like 8-15 minutes no crazy delivery charge so I always try to bless the delivery guy
Amazing food, Been eating here for years and always tastes amazing. Never a messed up order. Best spot for halal food!!
It's a small restaurant, without tables. There's 3 chairs to wait after ordering. It's worth the wait. I frequently buy a mixed over rice, chicken makhni (butter), 6 chicken kababs, rajma (kidney beans), palak paneer (spinach & cheese), garlic naan (bread), 4 samosas, and 2 mango lassis. It takes about 20 min to get that order, and costs $70-$80, but it's not a small order. Great for both vegetarians and omnivores.
Really good authentic Indian food. I get the mix grill or just the kabobs and goat masala or the korma. Everything is top-notch. Don't be fooled by The takeout only store. They know what they have and they don't need a big restaurant with seating.
We've been ordering from them since day one. This place is my go-to. The guy knows my order so well, he finishes it before I even say it. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly, and whether it’s delivery or pickup, it’s always quick—never more than 20 minutes. Highly recommended.
I don't often write reviews but for this I have too. They make the perfect chicken makhni when I ask for mild spice and the food leaves you feeling good after as well. Hands down the best samosa I've ever had from here and the best chicken over rice as well. 10/10 Def recommend. I order from this place almost daily.
This place always hits. We’ve been going here since 2020 before COVID hit… and this has been the most consistent spot for us. We always get their chicken and lamb gyros and their chicken and rice. We prefer the regular naan rather than their garlic naan. The garlic naan always ends up more burnt than we’d like. Before, we used to order their mixed grill. We don’t as much anymore but it’s still a good option. If they had a point system, I’m sure we could have gotten something free at this point by how much we go. Lol. We live 10 minutes away so we always call ahead. Never had any problems with our orders. And now that we have a 2 year old, she loves this spot too. She eats the naan with her chicken and rice and is always satisfied like us!!!! Truly the place to go. Can’t recommend it enough.
This place is awesome. The food is great . They are nice and will explain to you what the food is and what's in it. Kinda expensive tho. But i love Indian food and they do a good job. Be prepared the food is spicey. Very spicey But i love spicy foods. You can't say i didn't warn you. I think everyone will enjoy this place. Only if it were a little cheaper.
Very nice staff. Explained all the different dishes on the menu I asked about. Kebabs are good. Lamb biryani was ok, nothing special. Rice used tasted and looked different from basmati which threw off the dish
I order the food by phn 30 min ago still when I arrive I had to wait another 30 min to get the food. I hope they will improve this in future. Beside that there food is really good.
Taste is not so great as a Indian would expect it to be in New york. But i will let you try before judging my review. Took a take away from the restaurant, the packing was so uneasy that couldn't eat it properly, could have been better. Took kabab roll , wasn't eat to eat in the packing, and dining in restaurant wasn't there
I had the food on Saturday and it was very delicious. I would of given 5 starts but the chicken and lamb was cut up too small and fine. I had the food delivered and didn't see an option for sauces on side.
Small spaces, reasonable prices, ordered chichen salad, chicken kabab, chicken baryani, chicken gyro, and naan. Everything was okay except baryani which, was not to our baryani standard. Neither i would call it terrible. Halal sign is a question mark because of sikh management. Its not a muslim restaurant.
This gyro spot is okay, the lamb had a strong char taste to it and the chicken wasn’t as dry. But it seems it was a thin finely chopped meats. Meat Ratio to rice was decent I suppose. But that isn’t my problem, came the other day ordered 3 lamb over rice and 1 chicken over rice. The dude asked what sauce we wanted and we told what sauce we wanted on each. We ended up getting home to see none of the gyro having either white sauce or hot. Disappointing. It was also towards the end of the day so the rice tasted clumpy so I can assume it was old rice from early on. Overall 6/10
Right now I give them 3 stars because Ionly tried two items their vegetable samosa the crust was perfect but the filling was too salty and the lamb gyro was good.I plan on going back and try other items.
I’ve been there once and ordered falafel over rice. The staffs were humble and fast but didn’t like their food. The falafel was not well cooked and the rice was over boiled. Don’t recommend this place.
Lately there online order are not good , gyro platter seems cold not so fresh and plus seems burnt most of time I don’t know what’s going on or the people don’t want to work properly.
Food is very tasty- the best. The problem is that they are either sending spoiled food or mixing old food with the fresh food. Have ordered over 20 times and spent a lot of money on big orders. The aloo gobi came smelly spoiled few times. Another time, I ordered 3 different paneer orders- all fresh, but my whole family got UTI. How? Please do not add old food (even a small amount) with fresh food. This will cause sickness/infection/food poisoning. The last time I got 2 orders of samosas. Half were fresh. The other half were old and stale. Please throw away old food and only serve fresh food. Thanks!
Restaurant got an “A” but they are very dirty !!! I usually order then pick up but today I arrived a bit early while they were still preparing my food . There were no usage of gloves and I saw the guy in the apron preparing my food just picked his nose then continue touching my food . I’m now wondering how they prepaid their salad that is already there that they put in everyone’s food ? I feel so sick 😩
This is the worst restaurant ever the food is so salty and cheap and they use their hands to season the meat. Unless you wanna get sick don’t come here.
No taste in food. Very slow delivery service! And they rip you off with chicken kababs. They should ask the customer if he/she wants their kababs to be cut or not. They cut it for you and give you very less pieces and rip you off. I DO NOT recommend this place! You better off going somewhere else but this place!
Have no clue how this very very dirty establishment has even 4.4 stars. Just ate a chicken tikka masala that is making sick to my stomach. This place is beyond filthy and the food handling is unbelievable, save your self from a bacterial infection to my our stomach and stay away
Chicken kebab was so bad, too much turmeric in there and the texture was strange. The sauce that came with the kebab was RANCID and OLD leaving the most horrible and funky taste in your mouth. I enjoyed the lamb pita but I wouldnt even feed this kebab to my dog! How can they serve that to customers.
Don't get food from here unless you want food poisoning!!
Today 09/28/2024 at 1.10 am..we called 2 times to place an order but they didn’t answer the calls both times. And the messed up part is first it’s really bad for business and the second is we were really really hungry.
There food is good but never order is Amritsar fish and there butter chicken it’s not good. At all except these 2 food items all other things in menu is good in taste
The worst goat biriyani I have ever found. Even I cannot finish half of the plate. I threw all of them into garbage. They just put lots of chili powder with rice and then add few pieces of goats and then served it as a biriyani. I never give any bad review to any restaurant or business services. I literally got sick with too much chili powder. I have also tasted chicken over rice, that one is okay. I also suggest you guys think twice before buying biriyani from them because it’s not good at all even it may cause to health issues.
The food was a bit cold and kind of stale. Overall it tasted okay. Also, the portions were not as big as they used to be, yet the price remained the same. This place used to be a lot better!
The only good thing about this place is that it's open till 2 AM in the morning. Food quality was at best passable. Kebabs with overload of cumin were bland and tasteless. Hygiene seems to be a suspect. I managed to peek in the dingy basement which I think is their prep area. But given the price point it's great for taste dead drunkards and cabbies looking for a cheap fill.
Never try Fish Biryani.. Its like they add rice with a lot of fish curry which make it weird 🤮it’s too much spicy bcoz of fish curry that make it liquid biryani…Their butter chicken taste okay I never give bad review to any restaurant still I don’t wanna post this review but I hope in this way they will improve their fish biryani…Gud Luck
This chicken over rice is very bland compared to other locations. They need to work on the flavor of the chicken and the rice. I also ordered a butter Naan which literally tastes like a burned pancake. 1 star because you would think they would have a better tasting recipe compared to the guys with the halal carts.
The behavior at this restaurant is absolutely disgraceful. On September 27, I personally witnessed that they have no respect for women at all. Instead, they constantly make inappropriate remarks, act disrespectfully, and even issue threats. As a customer, I felt deeply disturbed and offended. Such behavior towards women is unacceptable and should not be tolerated anywhere. Authorities need to take strict action against this restaurant. I strongly advise others not to visit this place.
I order dahi bhalle they took half an to make just dating bhalle they don't even know how to make wrost food ever
