Service & food was great. We were just passing through & stopped to eat. When we were ready to pay out, we were told that our meal had been paid. That was a very nice thing to do. Thank you.
I was visiting a friends Beachhouse and came across this little gem, first off, there wait staff was very friendly, secondly the chips and salsa were fantastic and third I’m always on the search for a really good Carnitas and this place did not disappoint they also had homemade flour tortillas 🤤
Great place to eat. Very family oriented. Great customer service. Very clean.
They have an appetizer which they call Botanas it comes with an assortment of items in a half plate or a full plate. We order 2 to go for take out it is really good. I suggest you give it a try. This is comes to you from The Grizzle from Manizzle.
The food was very tasty. All the dishes had an authentic Mexican taste.
I can’t comment on any other dish or service other than what I received. However, I had the catfish and top shelf margaritas on the rocks. Service was prompt and aboveboard. No complaints. Catfish was filet and smothered in a creamy cheese sauce that I found remarkable. Served with authentic pico, rice, beans, and tortillas. Margaritas were perfect. Barely a hint of green which to me is a true top shelf drink, tasted great. I had no problem with the salsa served with chips. Price? I was surprised how reasonable considering the food and quality.
Little pricey but the food was worth it. I had fajita tacos and they were tender and good flavor. My brother had a shrimp dish and had 8 shrimp that were fresh and maybe 20-25 count. Not very big but not tiny. Lots of vegetables and awesome tortillas. About 14 a plate
Love Mi Casa. I stopped in (after a long stint in California) craving straight up crispy ground beef tacos and jeez, they were perfect! The rice, beans (I got the meal), chips and salsas were just absolutely delicious! It was close to closing time but they were so gracious, and everything was piping hot and fresh, including the super thin chips and taco shells. Don't miss out, this place HITS!!
When ever I'm in town my family and I stop by and eat here. Love there cold beer and strong margaritas. The quail plate is my wife and I all time favorite! I recommend trying it. Service is polite and fast
My favorite Mexican food ever! Staff is always very friendly. They chips and salsa are delicious (especially the green one). I love the cheese enchiladas although my husband and I usually share the beef and chicken fajitas for two. The fajitas are so good! I also love the beans (both charro and refried) and the rice. I always get extra. Tortillas, both corn and flour, are homemade. So far, no other Mexican restaurant I’ve been too has been as good as Mi Casa. If you want the best Mexican food, Mi Casa is the place.
Went here on a Sunday for dinner. With most places closed on Sundays in Palacios we were happy to find an open restaurant. It was relatively busy, but not uncomfortably packed. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was solid tex-mex cuisine. Would come here again.
Always good! Love the tacos guisada. Especially with the corn tortillas now that I can't have wheat. The margaritas are good also. Never had a bad meal here.
I’m glad we stopped in for lunch on our way back home from Palacios. Great food and service. The highlights were the beef fajitas, rice, beans, and queso!! Their tortillas were yummy too. The only items I think could have been better were the chips and salsa. The chips seemed to be a little over cooked and the red salsa was a bit too spicy. The green salsa was delicious. Great prices and would eat here again.
Outstanding, original fare! We enjoyed large quantities of delicious, well presented, and fair priced foods! I intend to return and try different selections from a plentiful menu. The best Mexican food I have had around Matamoros, TX. Go early to beat the crowd. Visits 2 & 3 were just as good as the first. We have another week here and will go one more time!
Order their Plato Loco, it is their mini-deluxe plate. Very yummy!

Excellent in every way! Great drinks service and food. Better Tex mex than anywhere in Houston.
Coming from Houston, I go to lots of Mexican places. This is far and away my favorite place in Palacios. Yes, there are others, yes they are good. But here the spices are right, the balance of flavors is right, and the service has been great in my experience.
This restaurant was highly recommended by the locals of Palacios. We drove out here from Galveston and would make the trip back to support the community and enjoy the delicious food. The food is priced very reasonable and flavorful. We had the chicken fried streak and the #10 and would suggest the tamales and enchiladas for lunch/dinner. Restaurant was also kept clean and organized.
I come here for the quail. If you want a tender flavorful quail to eat this place does them well. The beans are wonderful also. They can be a hit-and-miss on some of the other meals. Some enjoy it and others don't. Everyone will agree though that the quail are tasty. Service is good. Very attentive. Always making sure your glass is full and if you don't need anything.
My wife and I eat there every time we’re in Palacios. The food is authentic and well presented. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It’s one of our favorite restaurants.
We got beef fajitas for 2 to go, it was soooo tender and flavorful!! I never like the guacamole at restaurants, but it was to die for, and the beans and rice were the best I've ever had. The chips and salsa was also Heavenly. My husband said it was all the best we've ever had anywhere! I agree!!!!
Excellent in every way! Great drinks service and food. Better Tex mex than anywhere in Houston.

Good Mexican food. Generous portions.
The kids and I go regularly. We are a family of 5 , so it's very affordable, and I love the Margaritas.
The stuffed avocado (chicken) is my go to dish when I come through Palacios Texas, the avocado and a margarita. And sometimes I order a little take out for a special someone. 😉

The food was very authentic. I ate here several nights while helping my friend with some work around him house. The restaurant was never packed whenwevisitedit. The food came out fast and hot. The waitress came around to check on how everything was. The only thing I disliked was the 4% uncharge if you use a credit card. Np, it just came out of the tip.

Had an average ground beef taco and not so good cheese enchilada. Beans and rice delicious. Way better than Palicious Mexian in town.
I got the pablano chicken fajita plate.....food was pretty good... Service was ok......I'm assuming its family run....none of the people working there looked happy......oh well im full till next time.
So I'm being generous giving 3 stars only because the food was decent. Mi Casa closes at 9:30pm my family and I arrived at 8:25pm, the waiter looked angry that we showed up as we were the only table present at the time, we placed our drink order and received our drinks plus our chips and salsa, my son accidentally knocked over his so this further upset the waiter, "my son and I actually got up and cleaned the table" we moved to another table and requested another drink and more salsa, they ran out of green salsa "no biggie", another family showed up and this again futher upset the waiter, so the waiter brings our order to the table like he is in a rush and almost spills my beans on me, the food was decent but could definitely do without the $hitty attitude. In the end I still tipped over 20% and we left, probably won't be returning anytime soon. What happened to decent and friendly service? On a note the waitress that brings drinks and chips and salsa was nice.
The service is good friendly staff But the food is taste less except the chicken soup that was good Don't get the tacos or the charra beans Probably won't be back
🌮🌮🌮SMALLEST portion size I've ever received at a Mexican restaurant and I've eat at them across the country!🌮🌮🌮

My problem with this restaurant is the lukewarm food and most importantly the salsa that is inedible due to the extreme heat of it. I like spicy but this is a quick chip dip if that. I asked if they had a less spicy one and the response was "no, a hotter one". I go to Mexican restaurants for the full experience of chips, dips, and homemade tortillas.
Meh. Food was okay, service was okay and atmosphere was okay. For a small town with not much variety, it'll do. Definitely better than the other Mexican restaurant. Cheap beers and margaritas ($4). The red sauce given with the chips is watery with an after bite. The green sauce is different, not spicy at all. Would return with low expectations.

Grabbed a quick lunch here today. Not very good at all. The best thing I had was there green salsa they bring out with the chips. The red is a touch too spicy and not all that tasty. The spinach enchiladas are pretty much just a ton of spinach in a tortilla. Speaking of the tortillas - This place has the WORST tortillas I have ever had at any restaurant. That's saying something because I've eaten a LOT of tortillas. Seriously, they need to change that completely. No interest in going back during my time here.
The chip salsa "red" tasted burnt and the green had no to little flavor. Had chicken enchiladas , they were fair at best. Was very slow, and wait person never came back to check to see if everything was good. Not sure I would go back.
We came in and we were wanting some good Mexican food. We were told to sit anywhere. We should've sat in the back with the locals because the waitress kept going back there . We were given a menu and our drinks and then they just ignored us . We got chips and hot sauce. I opened my napkin and my fork was stuck to it . They should have brought out our drinks first then the chips and salsa . I don't know how many they walked past us .It is a shame. How hard would've it have been to take our order . We knew what we wanted .
We were disappointed to find out that this restaurant was no longer a Los Cucos. It was our very favorite Tex-Mex spot in Matagorda County. Mi Casa's food didn't compare at all. The green sauce was runny and the salsa too spicy (I have lived in Texas for over 30 years so not new to what is good salsa). The waitress acted like she was doing us a favor to take our order. They were not busy but took quite a while to get our order.
I've been here several times and I try and order something different everytime, but end up disappointed. With my recent visit, the rice amd beans were bland and a very small serving. The only meals I'd recommend are the chicken tortilla soup and fajita plate.
The salsa that we got with the chips at the beginning were very flavorful. And that's where the flavor ended. There's absolutely no flavor in anything on anybody's dish. Would not recommend.

This is Mexican food you would expect to find in Montana. If you want Mexican food in Palacios, the only option is the Palacios Mexican Restaurant.

My friend & I visited the restaurant on Sunday March 1st while driving through Palacios we decided to stop & have a bite, I ordered the enchiladas & he the ribs. After 2-3 hrs started having real bad stomach cramps, then came the diarrhea & vomiting awful feeling never had food poisoning before, just today I'm starting to feel better.
This place is absolutely unprofessional and rude! Learn some respect. Didn’t get her name but the little girl who I’m assuming was a food runner or server of some sort was the most disrespectful person I’ve ever met.
This was horrible. Ordered carne guisida, boiled meat with sauce. Husbands plate was soggy and so was our friends. Other customers were also complaining. Not good.
i called to make sure the margaritas were 1.99. The lady that's always in the front that doesn't smile, said yes there 1.99. I get there had 3 margaritas and I went to pay and it was 16.00 Dollars. A asked aren't the margaritas 1.99, she says yes with food. She screwed me on the phone and didn't tell me this. I'll never go back again. I PRAY they go out of business.
I’d give zero stars if I could. Server never checks on you. Food tasted like crayons. There was barely anything in the taco, enchiladas were tiny. Ordered chili con queso and literally just got a spoonful of generic queso. 5 star reviews have to be friends or family cuz there’s no way this place would ever get above 2 stars. The “meal” wouldn’t even qualify as an appetizer. Just as hungry leaving as I was coming into the building.
There were a few of us who ordered carnitas. It was not carnitas that I have ever had. They had Onions, mushrooms, and peppers mixed in, the meat stewed. One person had asada tacos, and they said they weren't good either. It's not my type of food, especially for the price.
This place has extra charge for service that you find out when you pay the bill, which is unacceptable paying with card, better be careful and pay cash to avoid 4% extra on final balance
It was pretty good but not as good when it was a different restraunt for years. I think it used to be a los cucos.. worst place to eat in palacios but it is a option
I had eaten there about five years ago, thought it was fairly good back then, but this week when I impulsively stopped in, it was horrible! Exterior is run down and rotting, parking lot in bad shape, interior looks like it’s not been touched in many years, and the plastic table cloths are so worn out that the plastic coating is in tatters. The margaritas are a joke; they are mixed with cheap wine and tacky flavors, and the food was not good at all. My stomach can testify to that this morning! I won’t be going back and anticipate it being empty and abandoned in the near future. Good riddance!
After eating, I found a long hair in my fajitas while packing the leftovers to take home. I told the waitress and showed her the hair and she replied there was only men cooking. I was so disgusted I left the doggy bag there.
My family and i went here for food and first it was very awkward. no one greeted us or was friendly. then we ordered queso and they brought out generic queso which tasted fine until we found a hair in it. once this was brought up to the server she was VERY rude and just took the queso away and then questioned on if we wanted it again. when we said we wanted a new one she then said she couldn’t do that and it would be the same one. she then ignored our table for the rest of the night and then still charged us for the queso. on that note i would not come here and i wouldn’t doubt if this place doesn’t meet health code regulations.
