So much fun! Bartenders are amazing! I forgot their names,🫣 but the man with black/blonde hair and women with blonde hair, phenomenal service! Crowd is fun! Just a vibe!
Finding decent pizza is not easy for picky travelers like us. We’re so happy to have discovered this restaurant. The outdoor dining with its heaters and torches is delightful. We had a delicious roasted vegetable pizza. So good ! Good wine selection. Attentive friendly staff. We will be back!
What a fabulous restaurant. What makes Birba so special is both the atmosphere and the service. Hanging lanterns and twinkling lights are hung in the olive trees throughout the outdoor patio. Plenty of heat lamps together with fire pits are well placed around the spacious dining area. The tables don’t feel too close to each other so diners can talk without having to talk over others. Nicely intimate and enjoyable dinner atmosphere. The service from reception, to bus boys, food runners and the lead waiter was top notch. Our waiter Ian was attentive and made sure our meal was just right. The pizza was the best thing on the menu by far. The drinks were special with nuanced flavor notes. They have house-made pastas. The tortellini had a scrumptious brown butter sauce and house-made cheese. Could have used maybe a hint more garlic and a pinch of fresh herbs, yet satisfying just the same. We were stuffed but ordered the salted butterscotch dessert. I’d try something else. For this service it was too salty and the gelatin was a bit thick. Overall a candidate for a repeat favorite restaurant for future trips to Palm Springs.
I loved my dinner at Birba. Tricolore Salad and Birba Pizza we had was really good. The salad was easily shared between the two of us. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area or just passing through!
We had a wonderful experience here from the very beginning to the sweet treat at the end. Our hostess was warm and welcoming making sure we were warm enough at the lovely outside dining. Our waiter Ian was delightful and very helpful, answering our questions and explaining the dishes so we could best chose to our liking. We shared the chopped salad, the rigatoni and a pizza. It was a perfect amount of food and everything was perfect. Our sweet treat at the end was the salted caramel pudding which was scrumptious. Great night!
Perfect Venue for a Wedding Welcome Party! "We hosted our son’s wedding welcome reception here and it was flawless. Antoine, the onsite manager, was incredible—he even shared some fascinating Palm Springs history with us! The food was delicious, the bartender was outstanding, and the entire staff was so friendly. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot, Birba is it!"
4.5. Stars. Probably pretty solid for PS. Pizza Parlor Chopped Salad, fingerling potatoes were good. They cooked my pie extra well as asked and it was real good. If you dont, you re gonna get a floppy Pizza. Rigatoni Bolognese has great flavor but was overcooked. FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE was rich and delicious. Reasonably priced Chianti at 48. Warm & efficient service by Ian. Great outdoor setting
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful date night. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was just right and the service was friendly and timely. We would definitely recommend and plan on returning soon. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Out of all of the nonalcoholic beverages I would definitely go with the virgin snake. However, if you’re if you are looking to try something new and are up for it, I would highly recommend the charity pie. It has a delicious lemon twist in there that is both surprising and delicious. Lastly, it would appear that if you went during a busy period, Parking would be a little bit more problematic. However and more importantly… if you’re reading this, remember to take a moment today and pause and look around, take a breath, close your eyes, and remember to feel a little gratitude as you go about your day. Stay blessed everyone and stay well. ❤️
A perfect evening on the patio at Birba Palm Springs. It's like dining under the stars at your best friends home. If your friend is a great chef. The food is just wonderful. Not pretentious, balanced, with some surprises. Like who knew lemon slices on pizza was so delicious? I'm in food bliss.
Went here for dinner one night at my bachelorette and it was fantastic! The server was wonderful and gave us a lot of great feedback on the menu. I got the tortellini con ricotta spinaci and added prosciutto to it per the server. It was delicious! The sauce was so light and lemony and perfect! My friends shared a birba pizza and the pizza parlor chopper salad. Also we got the beet salad. We also got meatballs and the roasted cauliflower as well. My only complaint is there was only 1 gender neutral bathroom.
We absolutely love this place! We tried the Fried Squashed blossoms stuffed with Ricotta, cauliflower, and the spicy Birba pizza. I didn’t like the cauliflower that much by the rest of the two dishes were delicious.m especially the pizza! Service was pretty good as well. Also, their washroom is pretty interesting. Go check it out.
Beautiful setting, lovely staff!! Everything was pretty solid. I might have ordered my pizza wrong, I got the braised greens one which is right up my alley but the middle was soggy and the flavors just didn’t meld. We also had the mushroom truffle pasta special and it was quite bland with no flavor. The salads were meh (tricolore, rainbow beets). The meatballs were tasty. I didn’t did the squash blossoms but the others at the table did. Best part was the desserts they brought out for my birthday. So nice! It was like a butterscotch pudding magic thing! Have had better food but service and atmosphere made it lovely.
We sat at the bar because we couldn't get a reservation. While everyone gets their pizza, I was a big fan of the home made pasta! Everything was amazing. The cauliflower appetizer was interesting in the fact that it was a giant piece of cauliflower and it was also super tasty. I guess you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The bartenders that evening were also amazing! Loved their cocktails!
We went here for dinner on boxing day. The place was packed. We had a reservation and still had to wait 15 mins to get a table. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share. Garlic Knot, Fried Squash Blossom, Pesto Pasta and Braised Greens Pizza. Everything was pretty good. We finally ordered the Olive Oil Cake for dessert. It was heavenly! The staff was very friendly. The service was relatively quick given how crowded it was. It's a really good option for dinner, but I'd recommend making reservations, especially on holidays or looking weekends.
Farm-to-table Italian restaurant in the middle of the desert? Why not! I came to Birba with a group of friends for dinner. The menu prices were a little sus, but a lot of the items sounded interesting with a Californian flair. Apps: * Rainbow beet salad: refreshing, a good choice if you like beets * Brussels sprouts cacio e pepe: I like how this wasn't flash-fried and greasy, great option for a veggie dish * Fried squash blossom: tastes like a fritter, everyone loved this but I thought it wasn't too special * Meatballs: probably my favorite, well-seasoned combo of beef and pork, could have been spicier Pastas: * Tortellini: we were expected a normal plate size, so we all laughed when the dish arrived with literally 6 tiny tortellinis (there were 6 in our group so it worked out, but each was like half-a-bite-sized). It was decent but not mind-blowing. I think the limited quantity made it tastier * Rigatoni: nothing special imo Pizzas: Crust was thin so you have to eat it quickly before it gets soggy * Birba: the sweet and spicy overtones were amazing * Homemade classic: lots of mushrooms and sausage Overall, the ingredients are fresh and the flavors are on point. I love how they make a lot of their cheeses in-house too. Servers were friendly and helpful in making sure our apps had the right portion sizes. Vibes are cute with the patio seating and fairy lights in the front section, and the heat lamps keeps it warm and cozy.
Always love coming here while in Palm Springs. Drinks are good, service is incredible, food is solid, and ambience is so lovely. Outdoor patio seating with heat lamps. I actually wasn’t on the mood to eat bread/carbs because I had already eaten a lot that day so I got the chicken entree. It was pretty good but not as good as the pizza or pasta dishes imo. The charcuterie appetizer is delicious as well as the antipasto salad. Would definitely return!
Stopped here with my wife while shopping the restaurant was super clean inside and out they have a nice patio spot where you can have your food. Prices were ok for the portions of food we received. Pizza was probably the best thing on the menu the vodka pasta didn’t have much flavor it was additional to add lobster “which I don’t recommend” overall I would be back if I was in the area or maybe doing some shopping
Surprisingly good food. We liked the black pepper tagliatelle the most with the birba pizza second. The tagliatelle had a really nice flavor and wasn’t too heavy. The pizza was sweet with a little bit of kick and deliciously meaty. We also ordered the Tutto carne pizza which was like a yummy meat lovers pizza. We had a lemon olive oil cake and tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was a little too mushy and not enough mascarpone but the lemon olive oil cake was nicely balanced, and tasty.
⭐️⭐️ Birba – Disappointing Experience Despite Good Food My husband, Mark S., made a reservation earlier this evening for 7:00 PM. We arrived early at 6:45 PM, checked in with the hostess, and she barely acknowledged us. The Latina hostess was too busy chatting and joking with her coworkers to pay attention when I told her we had a reservation. Despite that, she still made us wait about 15 minutes — even though the table they eventually sat us at was already vacant and clearly ready. Once seated, we waited again for our server. To his credit, he was attentive once he arrived and apologized for the delay — he was the one redeeming part of the night. What really surprised me was being served food with no napkins or utensils. We had to ask for them, which is unacceptable at this level. And when the pasta pomodoro came out, no one offered extra cheese or pepper — something that should be standard for a pasta dish. The dining setup itself is uncomfortable. Tables are far too close, and guests and servers kept bumping into each other or having to apologize just to get by. It didn’t feel organized or relaxing. The food was great, but everything around it made the experience not worth it. Palm Springs has plenty of restaurants with better hospitality and better respect for reservations. I only tried Birba because The Eater recommended it, but I wouldn’t return. If you plan on visiting, make a reservation and still expect to wait. Honestly, takeout might be the more pleasant option.
I usually only leave reviews on Yelp when it is a positive experience but unfortunately feel the need to “buyer beware” restaurant go-ers. We are a well traveled couple from LA that enjoys fine dining. This is not fine dining (or even a fraction of it). We ordered a salad, Brussels, two pasta dishes, and a pizza. Everything we ordered was sub-par, flavorless, not unique, and just very average. The service was sub-par, and overall the entire evening and meal fell completely flat. The restaurant does have a nice vibe and ambiance, but the service and food were honestly terrible. We love going to Bar Cecil, Rooster and the Pig, and all the other fun dining experiences in the desert and were hoping to add this to the list. Was not to be— don’t waste your money.
The food, the restaurant and the service were great. So why the 1 star ? Because the menu was full of mistakes and that is both unacceptable and disrespectful towards the beautiful ITALIAN language and real ITALIANS. In the age of AI how hard is it to get your spelling right ? I am happy to change my review to 5 stars once the menus have been corrected and reprinted. Capito ? Grazie .
