I made my second trip to David’s BBQ on (11/13/25) around 2:pm. I took my 3meat plate and my Sausage sandwich to go. I took a friend (who absolutely loves BBq) for her first time. BTW: she loves Spg Crk.… she took one bite of the okra and the ribs; and instantly abandoned her favorite bbq joint and has now moved her bbq membership to David’s BBq in Pantego. The customer service is the best, from the front door and out every staff member is friendly and accommodating. The food is hot and made with care. The food is fresh and the served portions are worth every dollar and is reasonably priced. I have many bbq enthusiasts in my circle and I plan to send everyone here to try this bbq. This is worth the stop. Hope to see you there. (And nope, these people don’t know me and I don’t know them.) however; anything that one finds good, in the world should be shared. ** rated atmosphere 4 (only because the inside has an older out dated look) absolutely no other reason.

My girlfriend kept telling me this is the best barbecue place in the area. Should have eaten there now a couple of times and it has been excellent. Last time I had the ribs and they were really meaty and had some left over for breakfast.

I live pretty close to this place and never really have been maybe one time before. My wife and I both got the beef sandwich it was monstrous. I will definitely get the fried okra and the coleslaw again. Moderately price for a barbecue joint.

I love this place they are always so welcoming and friendly I love going there and seeing the owner she is so sweet and kind every time I go there. It's always clean and fresh. My favorite is the potato salad and ice cream cone The smoked turkey is also a favorite I place it on some bread with potatoe salad, onions, and bbq sauce best sandwich ever! The ribs and baked beans are also really good too!

It's our first visit, the food was good. I had a chopped beef sandwich and my wife wanted sausage and sliced beef. We were visiting with family after the funeral services for our uncle. They had a small room so the family could sit together.

🍖 David's Barbecue in Pantego, TX is an experience! The memorabilia all through-out the store, the friendly and chatty staff when you order, the packed plate of barbecue when you order, and the old school style diner - this place is definitely one to visit. This family owned business has been serving barbecue since 1910, and they are a staple in our community - I'm glad it was recommended to me by our church staff group as we visited for a lunch. Food: I ordered their turkey sandwich with coleslaw and beans, and a side of fries. Everything was delicious. I was a bit jealous of those that ordered the brisket and sausage sandwiches, so I'll have to come back to try those. They also serve free ice cream which is a treat not just for the kids. Service: I appreciate the staff who was ready to serve. It was a surprise to me to see the owner the one taking down the orders and dishing out the meat. It was good getting to have a short conversation while going through the line. At checkout, the staff was helpful to point me to the condiments and extras, as well as the ice cream machine for dessert. Atmosphere: Like I said, it's an experience. The sights and sounds, the feel of the restaurant - it comes off as very homey with a lot of history to it. I see why it's been a community staple all these years.

Okay, I found my favorite barbecue joint close to my house. This place was really friendly and the food was amazing. I was there around 3:00 on a Thursday afternoon and the place was not crowded at all. Everyone who was working there was really friendly and when I told him I was there for the first time they walked me through the process Basically get in line out to the right look at the menu. Figure out if you want a dinner plate option or specific cuts. I went for a two meats plate that was turkey and pork ribs Then you move on to the side section where you can pick up either. Coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad and some extra barbecue sauce. Additionally, if you're looking for things like fried okra or if you're in the mood for french fries or even onion rings, you can request that and they will bring it out to your table. The place is oh it's been around for a while and the decor shows it but it was comfortable. It was clean and it was an authentic Texas BBQ experience. I grabbed a soda fountain drink, and got busy with the plate in front of me. The pork ribs were amazing. I am definitely going to be ordering this again. The turkey was thinly sliced and was really good. I just wish I had another couple of slices of bread to make a sandwich out of it. The coleslaw and the baked beans were great. No disappointment there. So the okra and the onion rings were wonderful. It was just so filling I couldn't finish them so I brought the rest home. Now let me share that you can actually get ice cream at this place So I grabbed a cone and have some soft serve ice cream after the meal The whole team there was amazing. Jesse behind the counter was awesome, friendly and made me feel comfortable. Diane at the register was very friendly and it was nice to talk with her. Other members of the family came out and I really do appreciate that. That was really nice that they were very friendly and helpful to other customers, not just me. I absolutely recommend this place. Would I go back again? Absolutely. Next time you're in the pantego area, please stop by. It is awesome, I'm telling you it is great barbecue.

David's is a fantastic traditional Texas BBQ joint. This is an established bbq that has been going for a long time and isn't about the latest pitmaster making expensive craft brisket trying to emulate Franklin BBQ. The owner greeted us at the line and talked us through the selections. We chose the a sliced brisket plate and a rib plate. The portions are gigantic. The brisket was fantastic. It was moist and flavorful and had smoke flavor that was not overpowering. The ribs were great. They tasted very good without sauce and were perfectly tender without disintegrating off the bone. The sides were all very good and I like that they offer cheese slices as one of the sides. I didn't even know I wanted cheese as a side at a bbq but it really went well with the meal. Everyone was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend David's.

First time visiting David's on the recommendation of someone who is well known in the BBQ community. Very welcoming and friendly staff. They answered my questions regarding the menu and offered suggestions. Definitely felt like a family-owned/operated small business. I kept my order simple and went with the sliced brisket sandwich with two sides (baked beans and fries). I should have taken a photo of the sandwich as it was piled HIGH with both flat and point slices of brisket. So much so that the bun was holding on for dear life trying to contain it. I didn't have a scale, but I'm estimating it was around 12oz (3/4lb) of brisket. THANKS to the guys slicing and constructing this massive sandwich. Value for price paid ($17.80 including sides and a beverage) was definitely 5 stars! Brisket had a relatively decent bark and was very tender.....very little to no pull but also did not fall apart. The brisket itself was very moist and not chewy; however, the bark was slightly bland and could've been helped with a more generous distribution of dry rub prior to the smoke. A minimal amount of the house made BBQ sauce helped the sandwich. It was not overly sweet and had a good vinegar base. The baked beans seemed very similar to a standard canned version. Not impressive, but good nonetheless. The fries were fresh cut and cooked to order.....paired well with the brisket sandwich. I was close to giving 4 stars for Food category; however, the combination of the slightly bland brisket and the baked beans was causation for 3 stars. The friendly service paired with the portions is reason enough to add David's to your local BBQ places to visit.

If you're a Texas Rangers fan, you will love this place. They have almost every Rangers bobblehead from several decades past. You can see them all as you get in line to order the food. We got brisket, sausage, and ribs. All the meats were good and I enjoyed the potato salad and coleslaw. My wife and I thought the brisket tasted a little funny. Hopefully, it was just an anomaly. BBQ sauce was good. Don't forget to serve yourself some free ice cream on a cone afterwards.

This place is one of my favorite barbecue spots! You can immediately tell the food is fresh and delicious (especially the ribs) just by looking at it. Not just that but, this place has great service by being greeted and served by some genuine, hardworking people. The environment around has this homey feel as well. Just by seeing the pictures on the walls you can tell the tradition of great food going on for decades! I definitely recommend!

I ordered the beef rib plate with fried okra and fried onion rings pretty good ribs and okra the order also comes with slices of white bread. Everything was pretty good,good enough to be a repeat customer. I didn't use the barbecue sauce that comes with it and the only negative I can say is the onion rings had a slight flavor of old grease being use only for that item. And they have a dine in and drive thru.
