CaliBurger offers a unique experience with its robot Flippy, but food quality is inconsistent. Some customers enjoy the burgers and fries, comparing them to In-N-Out, while others find them bland or poorly prepared. Service and cleanliness are also concerns.

I ate here every day when I went to Monsterpalooza. The place was packed but the staff handled it great! They have amazing burgers and fries.
Great place to go if you want to eat a good imitation of an In n Out burger. The fries are definitely crispier than In n Out's. Tasty place, it is right next door to the Rose which is an excellent place for concerts.
Burgers are pretty good. Fries and buns are great. Staff is nice. Comfortable couches and couch-like booths Very handicapped accessible. Prices are fair.
They put so much detail in the burgers. And the fries are so good. I used to be an in n out fan, but now im all about caliburger. Definitely my goto when in Pasadena. Plus some nights can you can hear the jams and comedy from next door. Don't forget to get it Cali style!
CaliBurger was an awesome experience! The delicious burgers fries and shakes, interactive game screens in the dining room, and friendly staff all had me impressed. A must eat spot when exploring old town Pasadena!
It's not In N Out (albeit they always get compared to them and I don't know why since they're different) but I got to give them props. The burgers are pretty good and I recommend their milkshakes.
The burger and fries are awesome , similar to in and out but less people and a better environment , friendly staff as well. Wont be disappointed unless your being a douchebag.
People working here are friendly, the service is good and quick. The burgers are fine - similar to the In 'N Out. Fries are a bit over done - a little on the burnt side. Kids enjoy watching the robot work - that's one of the main reasons we keep coming back.

Was at the Pasadena Convention Center for a conference and this place was right across the street and not full. Interesting feeling inside, strange but cool set up with couches and comfy chairs a all types of tables. Ordered the cheese burger and was very pleasantly surprised to really, really enjoy it. Fresh, crisp lettuce, really nice tomato and the bun was fabulous! Service was a little inefficient but he was polite and worked hard. The burgers are definitely small, but I think that is a good thing. Our fast food portion sizes are way too big. I would definitely go again!
How dare half of these people give this place less than four stars. First off, you can and will compare it too In-n-out. Honestly it's just as good, but at the same time it has its own unique taste that makes you say, "oh wow, thats pretty freaking good". Also the French fries are cooked crispy unlike in-n-out where you would have to order your fries "well done". The vibe inside is relatively more comfortable than in-n-out also...
Wow! What can I say... the food was phenomenal and the service to match! What really pulled me in was the marketing. Their marketing team all deserve a raise! I am a single father of 5 kids and we have barely enough to get by. Eating at this establishment is the only thing that keeps me going in life. It is one of the last remaining joys I have. When I first saw it open I thought it would be just another burger joint but alas! I was very wrong! Unbeatable prices and quality. when you eat at Caliburger you're not only getting a great meal, you're gain your will to live! I plan on getting the logo tattooed onto my fingers so that way whenever I look down I will always be reminded that I need to go back. Caliburger you rock!

Caliburger takes a hybrid approach to their hamburgers. They feature thin smashed burgers with crispy ends and also focus on very fresh sweet-tasting vegitables. It's essentially a nicer quality of In-n-Out.
I've never been to a Caliburger before. The place is huge and new and clean. There is a burger flipping machine and one employee putting on cheese. Burger took forever to arrive. The taste was ok but the bread was cold. For a 10 dollar meal I'mless than impressed. Except to show case their technology I won't be bringing friends here for the burger.
Pretty cool place! Burger was good, but the sauce on the chipotle BBQ chicken burger was a little too runny.. I almost lost my to-do burger on the walk back to work because the sauce soaked through the paper bag and broke it. 😭
This place is very comparable to in and out but also have chicken sandwich options. Only complaint is that the dine in seating is rather uncomfortable for eating purposes. Its mostly couches and such
Good burgers. Cool gizmos. A little slow on service. Order a milk shake, it's so good but takes 20 min to make.
Cool experience! I would certainly return with my kids to experience a robot making their burger .
CaliBurger is a great place for a quick bite to eat. Their robot "Flippy" was not working when I was there, but hey...ROBOTS! The burgers are pretty good, and their fries are great! Shakes are also recommended, but not required. The location is actually connected to The Rose, so expect long waits if a concert is going on.

A sign on the door said closed but it wasn't! Around 2:30 pm. Food was good. Fries were good. Seating is non traditional and they have a sun issue with a lot of their tables. Pricing seems normal for these kind of places. $30 or 3 of us and we all got the "value" meal. Disappointed in the Pepsi products choice, but that is a personal preference. Our baskets sat at the kitchen window for a few minutes before delivered to us, so the fries were good, but not great. No vinegar available. Good visit and could have easily been a little better.
Flippy the burger robot was not running. Sign implies it works for 1.5 hours a day sitting lunch. So much for robots working harder than humans. They also tried to replaced the cashiers with self order kiosks, but a third of the customers still went to the cashier. Food was messy but good. Eat the frys fast as the do not taste good after a few minutes.
Not as bad as yelp indicates. First thing you notice is that the venue is more like a night club than a diner or restaurant, it's much much larger. There's no classic blackboard menu, nor the menu board with interchangable text, that's a cue of where to order. Then the lighting isn't too great at this location. The other weird thing is that the area you place your order isn't the area isn't the area you pickup. Fixable. Wait times aren't too bad, comparable to made-to-order places. Portions as expected esp considering it's comparable to In-N-Out prices. No cheap meat patties that taste like high school cafeteria burgers, but not luxury beef. It's good. It's a good start. Not sure if flippy will be the next conveyor belt, but this is a good attempt. Maybe more classic restaurant/diner cues, and AI to start cooking a patty once someone walks in the door for the future? If In-N-Out started as a tiny driv-thru, Flippy should have started as one as well, instead of an eat in restaurant. Otherwise overall, satisfied with my burger, would come again.

Mediocre burger. Basically a step above In N Out but basically an In N Out rip off. Not a bad burger though. Fries were good. And they have an electric burger flipper. Extra. But cool. For being right across from the Convention Center it was very convenient.
Was hoping to see Flippy in action. Flippy was not in action. The human cook was a good Cali-style cheeseburger. CaliBurger's hamburger buns are different than other burger places. Not particularly to my liking; however, might be enjoyed by others. Will consider another visit if Flippy's work schedule is known
The main reason for me giving them 3 stars is because the sink in the bathroom wasn't working and there was no soap. The food wasn't bad though, and the price for the food was fair.
Meh. If you're at the Paseo and want an In-N-Out style burger, then give it a try. But In-N-Out is better, lots of burger places nearby are better. Not saying it's bad, it's just whatever.

The experience of Flippy the burger flipper robot is cool but the burger needs more flavor. A little bland and can have more sauce. The fries were good and the service is good as well. For overall cost, its ok. I would say 'check it out' and see what you think.😉

I was surprised how dead it was when I visited. It's such a large restaurant... perhaps they rely on traffic from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium across the street. It was average... a cross between In and Out and Fuddruckers. But it's a little run down, and it doesn't look like they run their "Flippy" mascot very often. Overall, it's kind of sad.
Food was Good! Used grubhub and driver forgot my drinks, restaurant was hard to get a hold of anyone, annoying! Restaurant should ensure delivery service has all items prior to letting them leave!
I order a letter A. And it wasn't nothing that great the burger feels like it wants to be a copy of In n Out. They give you Bottle Soda instead of a Cup where one can refill. I would go there again.
Everything I has was just ok. The servers were friendly but they seem to be going through some renovations, some of the dinning room area was messy. It's pretty much an in-n-out copy cat company. Parking available in the paseo lot.

I was a fan of this place but just had the worst customer experience. I ordered at the drive thru and went up to the window to pay. I could see a lot of people around the cash register as I just sat there waiting for them to return my card. I saw what I assumed was the manager calling on his phone. After waiting about 5-10 minutes someone finally came to the window and asked if I had cash because the cash register was down. I advised that I did not. But being irritated that I was on lunch break and waited for so long, I advised that I should be able to get my meal I ordered complimentary. They said no which I think was not very customer friendly. I was not advised the machine was done prior to placing my order and I wasted valuable time.
They need to hire employees that seem excited to work there. Almost feel like ordering is disrupting their day. Even after I told them I own a business in old town, a business that can refer lots more customers. You want to succeed you gotta take care of your locals.

Handicap parking at the rose is really badd the bounds were excellent but the parking situation for anyone handicapped don't even bother it'll just piss you off. Happy The bands were really good I danced a lot and I had a great time it was just the parking little cheap on the alcohol they could poured it a little more but that's OK
I was at a convention across the street so I expected long lines, but this Caliburger seemed to be woefully understaffed. It took 15 minutes to get through the line and another 30 before our order was ready. The wait would have been okay if the food wasn't so "meh". My friends and I ordered the Cali Double and found it to be unusually cheesy. The cheese was all we could taste and it overpowered the thousand island sauce. I love cheese, but that was way too much. One of my burger's buns was cold, half the fries were burnt and the other half was undercooked; it was clear that rushing to get orders out. A word of warning: I luckily escaped without any ill effects, but my friend felt awful that evening. Caliburger tries to be like In 'n Out, but it's more expensive and it didn't deliver on service or quality.
The service is slooow. The burger was so salty I thought I had ordered pickles with it because my tongue was pickled. The fries where so limp that they couldn't hold themself up. They offer me and my wife new burgers but I said no. My tongue was so pickle that 1/3 of the burger was all I could stomach. If they had negitives for yelp I would be right on top of it.
Time you got to wait is incredibly long - especially as no customers are around. Burger is incredibly small. Independent of food their robot is still not working. Restaurant looks like a construction site
This place is a joke. Burgers and fries suck. I was at the Rose next door for a show and stopped in. There was no one in the place but took 30 minutes to complete my order. The staff is pathetic. Save yourself the hassle. There are great places to dine in Pasadena.
HORRIBLE!! Do not recommend at all! Took forever to get my order out, fries were cold, meat undercooked, first bite pink! Disgusting! What a horrible first-time-customer experience. Yuck! Will never go back. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Well, this place needs serious help! This is one of those places with absolutely no management. Staff eats right in front of you and takes orders with full mouths. Burger is good I guess.
A very cheap imitation of California's iconic burger chain, IN-N-OUT. The owner, who started Caliburger, has said as much. After trying one of their burgers i found it to be a poor substitute for the real thing. Stealing another companys business model is no longer flattery but pathetic. My advice to those venturing out, it is always worth to try something once but you soon realize that is best to stick to the original.
Why, oh why is there no option for zero stars? This place is totally deserving. It's dirty. The trash cans hadn't been emptied. The tables hadn't been cleaned. If I end up with some communicable disease I'll know where I got it. Pasadena Health Department shut this place down!
First time at Cali burger at my last. I was very disappointed about both the Cali burger that my husband ordered and the chicken sandwich I got . There was no flavor on the beef and the chicken was very chewy. The sauce on the califries was nasty. Even their sodas were waterdown. Don’t waste your money going there not worth it!👎
Terrible service, they played music that had sexual references in the presents of kids and the bathroom was disgusting it had no toilet paper or paper towels. When I received my food that was over priced it was burnt and had terrible flavor it was not worth the money I spent
Straight up In N Out clone.. Onion Bomb is ok, a bit expensive. Loaded fries.. Animal Fries are better. Sorry, not sorry... The real Cali Burger is In N Out.
Wow, really sad place. The service was terrible, couldn't get my order right I just wanted a plain cheeseburger and they just had to keep putting stuff on it. On top of that it was just bad tasting. Just go to In N Out.
Dirty tabels sticky floors. There were 5 people there still we waited 27 minutes for order. No AC. Tasteless burgers :(

Worst fast food experience ever!!! I never received my basic combo after 40min! The cashier and cook were arguing amongst each other the entire time. When they decided to stop arguing, they were on their phones venting their frustration about each other (to who I believe was the manager). I requested for a refund but the cashier left to pick up her phone call. I do not recommend.
I had an awful experience at Cali burger Pasadena. First of all the building smells gross. Also the soda was stale and there was no ice. That’s not all once I received my burger the bun was ice cold and the actual meat was bellow room temp even though it was right off the grill. The worst thing about this meal was that my tomato was all covered ing mold. I really do not recommend this restaurant.
First of all this location at one time was a gelsons market, boy does the neighborhood miss this market, but anyways this burger place claims to be like in n out. Unless you have no taste buds this is not place like in n out. There burgers are so so, fries are oily, sides taste flat & shakes are fairly decent. Staff are nice they bring food to disabled & talk to you, however several times I have had to clean the booth I was sitting in. If, you want a burger go to island's (upper floor of Paseo Pasadena) or BJ's (corner of Marengo Ave/Colorado Blvd).
Floor is dirty, tables were sticky. The girl who was making my burger was on the phone. There was only one guy who was helpful and actually working. Everyone else is just kind of shuffling around mot doing anything. Used the kiosk but it wouldn't take my card or Samsung pay. Got my food to go and it took forever. I'd like to tell you exactly how long but the receipt i received has yesterdays date and the time is 6 hours off. I'll never go back.
