Tepito Coffee is loved for its delicious and unique Latin-inspired coffee, friendly staff, and warm atmosphere, especially the Cafe de Olla and Horchata Latte. It's a great addition to Vroman's Bookstore. Some customers have experienced slow service and inconsistent drink quality.

Went today for a community event they had with local vintage car clubs. Such a good time - really cool cars, great oldies music, & lots of folks out enjoying the sunshine. We got the Adelita Latte & Jamaica lemonade. Both were great - the mixed lemonade was just the right amount of sweetness for me. Also got a butter croissant which was flaky & rich. Great to see their pastries are baked by Homeboy Industries. Definitely coming back.
I love Tepito! I ordered the Adelita Latte with Coconut Milk and it hit the spot. It’s a great coffee shop to work from or meet up with a friend. Definitely worth checking out!
Finally made it here...and was not disappointed. Thank you for supporting the kind of community I grew up with. Continue doing what you all do. Cafe de Olla and Horchata iced latte was amazing. Can't wait to go back.
Great customer service. Welcome me and my family when we walked in. Their coffee and pastries are so delicious. My opinion way better than Starbucks. Thank you for everything. Will come back again
I love this unapologetically Latin coffee shop. The staff are super friendly. It is an excellent addition to the bookstore ecosystem that they share their space with.
Delicious and unique Coffee options. Good food and pastries. Service was friendly and quick.
This place was suggested to us and so we decided to head out and explore this and another location. Absolutely loved the atmosphere here. It is aesthetically pleasing. The vibe you get is amazing. Being that my fiancé is from ELA it is definitely a place he enjoyed and we are proud to have the ELA culture expanding and for people to learn from. There is also a unique bookstore/gift store I would say you can walk right into. Prices are reasonable. We had Hibiscus poncho with a splash of agave syrup (which was recommended) and it was so good. Balanced out the tart taste of the hibiscus. Service from the cashier to the back house was great! Attentive and friendly. Definitely will always go support any time we are out that way!! Ahéhéé (thank you)
If I can give this place a 6th star I would. First of all, it's inside a bookstore (Vromans), which itself is already amazing! Grab a book and go to the cafe? Deal! The cafe: it's Latin owned and the inside/decor is amazing. It presents the culture. Lots of plants and artifacts. The coffee/pastries: I've tried almost everything here and have not been disappointed. From their regular lattes, to the horchata lattes, to their black coffee. Iced and hot, they are all really good! Their pastries are homemade. My go-to is their lavender flavor cookie. (The chocolate chip cookie was very good as well). Service: Everyone here is BIPOC and are all lovely and amazing humans. Will answer any questions you have. Will be willing to give any recommendations. They accommodated me as there were no tables left and made space for me so I can get some work done. They also provide super fast wifi! (Not a lot of outlets though, so bring or BUY A BOOK? Free parking in the back. Tip your baristas!!!
I’ve been wanting to try this shop since it opened and I’m so happy I finally made it out here! Ordered a hot awakened pour over specialty (pictured here) & Iceed warrior coffee blend w/ vanilla syrup. 10/10. Also took home my own 12 Oz medium roast coffee bag ☕️ The flavor was rich and just enough strength of espresso. Read reviews over pricing being high, however, the prices aren’t bad at all. You’re paying for quality coffee here and the pricing is worth it. Plus, you’re supporting a Latino business. Once again, 10/10. Staff were super friendly and welcoming once you enter the shop. One of the baristas heard me say I’ve been wanting to try their coffee forever and he said, “I’ve been waiting forever for you” — which made me smile. You can tell all the staff put their heart and soul into the shop. Definitely worth making the 30 minute drive back! Next time will be here earlier to try the food!
From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, I felt nothing but warm open hearted and friendly people that worked at Tepito Coffee. The smell of the coffee beans was beautiful, and the smooth taste was delicious. I'm a blonde roast coffee lover, but I also ordered a Cafe de Olla. Both were smooth and sang a soothing melody to my soul as I sipped them. The pastries were great, and complemented the coffee perfectly. I plan on taking all my friends & family to Tepito Coffee. 💚

Professional friendly staff. Delicious Horchata coffee ☕️ and strawberry pistachio cookies. Winter Solstice Holiday box makes a great gift for family and friends!
A business with incredible social impact and absolutely delicious coffee and pastries. We loved getting their café de olla at the farmer’s market and were so excited to hear they were opening this brick and mortar. This is such a great space and we’re excited to watch it thrive!
I am so glad I am walking distance from this gem. The coffee is always spot on, the vibes are cool, and the pastries are fresh and delicious.
Love this place! The vibe is amazing for a coffee shop connected to a bookstore. They are a purpose driven coffee brand that makes delicious coffee with intention. The horchata latte is out of this world. I would fly to LA just to have this.
The vibe is super warm and welcoming, and the staff make you feel right at home. The coffee is incredible — I’m a blonde roast fan, but the Café de Olla and horchata latte totally blew me away. The pastries hit the spot too. Love that it shares space with a bookstore — it’s the perfect place to chill. My kids loved it!

We always always always stop in when we're at Vromans and I've never had a bad drink or snack or experience. Perfect addition to the bookstore and an afternoon out

Cool location and very nice customer service but my cappuccino was quite bad. I’d be more forgiving if they didn’t charge more for a cap than some of the best coffee shops in LA.

I originally wanted to go to the bar in Vroman’s Bookstore, but it had an age restriction. So, my daughter and I decided to check this place out. At first, I was hesitant, but I thought we give it a go. I’m glad we did! I got an Iced Adelina Latte and my daughter had an iced hot chocolate. I could taste the cinnamon and other subtle spices in my drink, and my daughter was pleased with hers. I was surprised it was on the expensive side. But, unlike at other coffee shops like Starbucks, the cup size was big for regular. Update: Our second visit was a little disappointing. My daughter and I ordered the same things. Only this time, we ordered them hot. Mine tasted okay, but my daughter told me her hot chocolate tasted too much like milk. So, I guess the ratio of cocoa powder to milk was not well-proportioned. It seems like the taste of beverages vary depending on who makes them. This is not good in my book.

In summary: don't go here. How long can a matcha latte and chai latte take? 25 minutes, that's how long. And they're not even that busy. They just didn't manage their time well. And the drinks are just ok. Given this, they're super nice! And they were out of pour over. And out of cold brew. They had ice coffee but it was still brewing but I didn't want it. The atmosphere is hectic but in an uncomfortable way. Couldn't work or chat here. The street seating is nice but there was a heavy smell so... Yeah, go elsewhere unless they're not busy at all.

Today I tried Tepito coffee for the first, and probably the last time. I ordered an Iced latte with coconut milk (+$1) and waited 17 minutes for it!! They weren't very busy...only a few people were waiting for their orders ahead of me. And the coffee was just...okay, tasted more like coconut milk than coffee, to be more specific (reminded me of Starbucks). Didn’t worth $7.66 at all!
The most expensive matcha latte I’ve ever had. I had high hopes, but I was deeply disappointed. The matcha powder might be high quality, but they didn’t use a sifter or a whisk, so it ended up very clumpy.

The hot chocolate tasted like milk and no chocolate and the mocha iced latte also didnt have too much of a coffee taste… disappointing :(
This is the second time I have gotten bad service here. Today I came in and placed my order. Another person came about 5 mins after me and got their order served before me. I noticed the customer got my order and stuck their hand in the pastry bag then realized it wasn’t theirs so they gave it back to the worker (older looking woman). She then tried to give me back the pastry that the customer has touched claiming she didn’t see her touch it. When I asked for a new pasty, I was given the display one. Which who knows how long that has been sitting in the glass case for. I normally do not leave reviews but this was very off putting especially since I came during my 15 mins break and was on a time crunch.
