Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the charming, highly-rated Hello You're Welcome café. They make and bake everything in house- you can even see the ovens. Really friendly staff with a slight hippie vibe. Some items were made with almond flour, like their giant chocolate chip cookie, so I had to skip them (allergic). I was pleasantly overwhelmed by a delicious gigantic frittata slice with bacon, onions, and tater tots inside. Togadachi coffee is really interesting: the beans were fermented with lavender. Extra sugar helped me adjust to the unique flavor. The wall full of retail items features coffee beans in VHS boxes, which is a first! I love their mugs and bought one to take home.
After a restless night on a hotel mattress This passion fruit donut and oatmilk cortado were the perfect way to start my day! The barista was super friendly and welcoming and showed me to the quiet tables around the corner where I spent some time reading and enjoying my order.
Happened to notice this place while walking by and stepped into to take a look. I was impressed by the wide range of vegan sweet and savory baked goods, drinks, and no milk alternative unchanged. I enjoyed the passionfruit donut and the iced vanilla latte with oat milk was smooth ans flavorful.
This place is so cute and the service is just amazing. I felt so welcome here and she helped me pick out these delicious donuts and the perfect latte for my morning. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back again!!
There’s plenty of other reviews talking about the food and the pastries, which are great. But this cafe also takes their coffee VERY seriously. Tons of options for stuff on pour over, and a very knowledgeable staff behind the counter. Some of the best coffee I’ve had in the LA area.
Hello You’re Welcome is such a lovely find for specialty coffee lovers. There is a huge variety of drip, pour over, and espresso drinks that change daily, and the roasters they bring in are top notch. I particularly enjoyed the watermelon co-ferment on the origami dripper. Gigi and her team are thoughtful and deliberate with their coffee offerings, while still leaving space for the eccentric and experimental. When Special Agent Dale Cooper said, “a damn fine cup of coffee” he was undoubtedly speaking about Hello You’re Welcome!
If you’re in the area (or even if you’re not) show this local small business some love. They deserve all the hype! The donuts are delicious as well as the coffee and matcha, but the real winner for me today was the mortadella sandwich! Filled with pickled onion, salami and the usual Italian goodies - it hands down was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in my life. No joke, I scarfed it down. And the space itself is so charming. It’s kind of day dreamy. Antique plates, mismatched silverware and a vintage hutch lined with family photos help create a vibe, and it’s one I really like. I wish I lived here so I could be a regular. Pasadena is lucky to have this place!
🍩☕️ Easily some of the best gluten free donuts I’ve ever had! I have been a guinea pig of all things g-free for the last 15 years, so I can state confidently that the donuts I had yesterday are some of the most delicious, and tasty G-free treats I’ve had. The cherry on top was the amazing service. I didn’t catch the guys named that helped, but he was so pleasant, attentive and just seemed genuinely happy to serve, and that means a lot to me. Keep up the amazing work HYW! You’re my families new go-to spot!!! 🍩🍩🍩
This place serves seriously good espresso coffee. It also has more than cakes and donuts. I had a delicious vegan veggie sandwich which was packed with fillings. My companion had a breakfast muffin made with almond flour. We were too full to sample any of the yummy looking cakes and donuts, many of which are gluten free. There’s indoor seating but not a lot of it in the airy space that mixes industrial chic with homely accents. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We love Hello You’re welcome! It’s such a charming space and the donuts are absolutely deliciousness! They offer gluten free/vegan donuts that are so good! Exotic flavors and just the right size. We’ve had a sandwich here as well, we’re vegan so we love that they offer options for vegans. Thank you!!
Very kind staff ! Got an espresso chocolate donut and a bacon breakfast muffin. Great drip coffee and excellent food. Would definitely come back here.
Once upon a time, there were a couple donut shops with gluten free options. Then the pandemic killed them. In other words they brainlessly decided to stop making gluten free donuts. Then there was LeBerry, a wonderful little spot with a selection of gluten free options including incredible croissants. When I went to find them this time, their name had changed. They said, “Hello.” I said, “…wait everything is gluten free?” They said, “you’re welcome.” And the rest is history. Try the breakfast sandwich muffin things. Incredible.
This is an amazing place! The passion fruit doughnut was so delicious, the texture was perfect, you couldn’t even tell that’s a gluten free doughnut. And on the top of it it was beautiful! The service also was excellent! They were listening patiently while my son told the whole story how we found out that he has celiac and how much he wanted to eat a good dessert finally. Thank you! You guys are great! We definitely will be back soon!
Visiting from out of town and was so happy to try this entirely gluten free gem! The staff was so friendly, we had breakfast biscuits, donuts, coffee and more. Everything was so good. I also got a caramel bread pudding to go and it was amazing. Like another reviewer said, thank you for existing!!
Hello, A must stop when in Pasadena. Everything is organic, gluten free and tasted GREAT. They serve excellent vegan dishes too. From breakfast and lunch sandwiches (available certain times of the day) and their spectacular donuts! Seasonal ones too. Coffee and Matcha rocks as well. Service with a smile and detailed knowledge of their ingredients if you have any allergies. Cannot wait till I return!

Let the reader know that I have no dietary restrictions and am an aggressive card carrying gluten lover. In spite of my ignorance and need to consume wheat proteins, Hello You're Welcome has quickly become my wife and I's FAVORITE coffee spot. The frittata's dominance of the egg scene is truly spectacular. I keep eating it before I remember to take a picture.

The best café in LA, easily. A small-town coffee shop in a sprawling metropolis -- an oasis. Incredible vibe. Beautiful decor but not trying too hard. Staff that welcomes you in and actually makes you feel like welcome (unlike 90% of coffee shops in LA who treat you like you're an inconvenience for existing) and like they want you to be in there. Friendly and helpful and all-around pleasant people. Amazing, unique baked goods made from high-quality ingredients. The donuts are phenomenal and their savory baked goods like fritattas and egg biscuits are out of this world, and you can't get anything really comparable anywhere else in the city, or in many places in America, really. It's nice to have a donut that doesn't make you feel awful after. They offer a bunch of gluten-free and keto options. Like this place really does leave no stone unturned when it comes to high-quality baked goods that actually give you something more than a quick sugar buzz. Can't say enough good things about this place! A must-stop for locals and tourists alike.
Finally had the opportunity to come here and I was definitely pleased with everything. The pastries and coffee drink were delicious. But most of all the team behind the counter have a friendly and genuine vibe. Never felt rushed or pushed to hurry. Even the guest in line were kind. You can feel the love and authenticity once you walk in. I love supporting family owned small businesses. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu.
One of the few fully dedicated GF restaurants in Pasadena, Hello You're Welcome is 1000% worth visiting. Everything I've had here has been such a treat - especially the maple doughnut, but honestly it never disappoints.

Absolutely in love with this place. Gigi and her mom have built something special here. The BEST gluten free donuts I have ever had. I’ve been gluten free for five years and have been consistently disappointed with crumbly, dry donuts. Not anymore. This place has changed the game. Their donuts are perfectly moist and amazingly flavorful. I am beaming after visiting this place. Easily my new favorite spot and I will definitely be coming back. Impeccable vibes from the super chill baristas.
I appreciate and am always stoked to visit a 100% gluten free establishment. The location is great. We parked a few blocks down, on the street, and enjoyed walking over. We chose 4 Donuts to share. We did not care for the Oreo cookie donut. Way too sweet with a weird aftertaste. The other Donuts were tasty, yet dense- the maple, the double chocolate, and the one that resales a hostess Cupcake (that was my favorite). There were also other breakfast items, such as a Frittata, bread pudding, egg sandwiches, etc. that I would like to try next time. My husband isn't a cheese-eater, so those items with cheese mostly didn't appeal to him. This place seems new, and as a celiac of almost 20 years who has eaten gluten free food all over the world, I will offer several suggestions and I hope some might help this Cafe have longevity. We didn't like our drinks. They were very mediocre. Besides perfecting the Cappuccino and chai latte preparation, add a shaker of cinnamon to the stirring area of the coffee pickup station. Add seasonal items that are decorated for the season. It's January, so a Melting Snowman in the CA sun, etc would be cute on a decorated gf cookie, for example. Peppermint or hot chocolate flavored items, etc. Cake pops decorated with shimmery sprinkles and a snowflake, etc. Have to-go boxed and wrapped goodies to purchase, such as mini gf whoopee pies, Fudge, royal icing decorated cookies, gf s'mores (like they have at Rocky Mountain Chocolate), etc. Freshly made gf toast topped with Avocado and sprouts, Cake pops decorated cute, gf bagels with a schmear of vegan or reg cream cheese, and even soup. Soup is Very hard to get gluten free. In winter, lots of us would go nuts for soup and a crusty gf roll. My favorite gluten free Donuts are from Do Rite Donuts in Chicago. I would also enjoy the option to order and pay on a tablet kiosk, and have the food brought to my table. The foods should also be labeled with all ingredients and designations as Vegan, gf, dairy free, nut free, etc. I overheard other customers asking which items were vegan, so it must have been unclear. I hated the artwork on the wall. I like themes, so a nature theme with happy plants and animal prints for wall art would suit me better. Hello is in the name, so perhaps quirky cute animal prints with the animals saying hello in various ways.
[Original Review: Okay staff and lackluster food for a steep price. Donuts can be up to $7 each and the flavor profiles are decievingly bland. I got both a passionfruit rose and double chocolate donut and neither were impressive. The passionfruit rose one specifically was very very sweet and just tasted like sugar, not even the slightest bit fruity or floral. I also had a savory item, a $9 spinach and cheese brioche, which was also quite flavorless. I wasn't offered for it to be heated up, they plated it cold, though I don't think it would've made a difference. The staff were nice enough though I definitely felt rushed when ordering. Overall I think you're paying for an aesthetic over actual delicious food. I'm pretty regretful about the experience.] The owner responded to my review with an albeit very guilty-trippy response claiming that I’ve criticized them without context. I keep my review relatively small and concise due to knowing that lengthy posts get overlooked, I paint my information in very broad strokes for people like me who scroll quickly through. The owners would like to hold me responsible in engaging in a “heartfelt possibly inspiring conversation” even encouraging/expecting me to speak directly to the bakers. During my visit staff in-person rushed me and didn’t exactly allow me the window of opportunity or comfort to open that talk. Additionally, in my situation I was merely visiting while on a business trip where I ate my donuts to-go and couldn’t even double back to give critique had I had the time or energy to do so. Unfortunately Google reviews isn’t very thread friendly when it comes to holding that conversation, nor would it fit my 10 paragraph detailed response about my visit and the critique they so politely asked for. Ultimately when I write reviews with fellow customers in mind, I would be careful in forming an opinion seeing as HYW takes issue with saying their food is “just okay.” In their words of “being a good human” my full reply can be expected to reach them via email sometime after this update. The original review of my experience still stands though I’ve docked points on service taking into consideration their approach in responding was addressed and worded.

I went for the first time today around 1:45. Although the place was almost empty, only 2 other customers, the male staff person did not greet me. Was it the mask? Was it my race? Was it just a poorly trained staff member, who knows. I’m big on customer service or just basic politeness, especially since I’m here to spend my money. It may seem like a small thing to some, but it’s important to me. The young lady who did come out and eventually help me (she gets 5 stars, this review is not directed at her, but the white male employee). It takes two seconds to greet a customer, especially when the place is empty. It’s weird when an employee is cheerfully chatting with other customers but completely ignores you. A “hello” and a “I’ll be right with you” should be bare minimum.
